The Killian Jones SIMP LOG
In which I chronicle every instance of Killian simping for his girlfriend in Once Upon a time Season 4
PART XV: OPERATION MONGOOSE PART 2
85. E.23 Emma being the last thing he sees before he dies. If you watch him fall, you can see he closes his eyes just before he turns so Emma is out of view- I think the last thing he wanted in his head before he died was Emma.
----
86. E.23 The first thing he did when he got back to storybrooke was check the loft to see if Henry was still there and okay/being up in the loft so he and Emma could have a private moment together.
87. E.23 His reminder again, that he's a survivor and he's going to keep on surviving for her.
88. E.23 His hopeful smile as he expects she's about to tell him she loves him, and his best attempts to conceal his disappointment as she changes her sentence to something different.
89. E.23 Killian finally owning up to being the hero Emma's seen him as for the last season and a half.
90. E.23 Killian running to Emma, almost in tears, as she faces down a tornado of darkness, to beg her not to do it, not to let him lose another soulmate to the dark one.
91. E.23 The desparate "please," the horrified "no" as he's pushed away, him standing alone and watching in horror- and he's the only one who shows any sign of shielding his eyes from what's happening, because I think he's the one it hurts most.

my turn to fall
i've had this idea in my mind for a long time and while it's way too incomplete for me to make a whole mc out of it, i wanted to post the first scene - a little drabble really - it's also unbeta'd just fyi !
this is my season 5 canon divergent, what if emma wasn't the one turning into the dark one - i'm sure you can guess where i'm getting at - enjoy !

"You figured out how to take the Darkness out of me once. You need to do it again, as heroes."
Killian didn't dare take his eyes off Emma. Not when he knew what was about to happen.
She was an open book.
Stomping steps signaled Henry's presence, the boy finally catching up with them.
"Mom? Mom?" Henry's voice was small but everyone could hear his fear.
He watched as tears fell from Emma's tearful eyes. His heart was breaking.
"I'm sorry, kid." There was no denying how much that one sentence carried, an apology for their short time together, a goodbye. And Killian knew that David had to be holding Henry's arm because nothing would have stopped the lad from running towards his mother.
His feet were stuck in place as she looked at him. One last look. A goodbye. He was sure his heart had shattered at that look. He could feel her family at his back, all likely with the same expression on their faces. Despair. Pain.
"Mom…"
And it had to be Henry. He knew, in the end, it had to be him. He had done it before and for the same reason. Snow and Charming were crying for their daughter too but it was Henry's pained tone at watching both his mothers on the verge of being consumed by the Darkness that finally got him to move.
Killian had lost all his family already, by disease, by blind faith and by murder. He didn't want that look to taint Henry's eyes anymore. He didn't want the boy to lose either mother if he could do something about it. He had already lost his father, it was enough.
"Emma! Emma, please!" He called out as he rushed towards her
Emma grabbed the hand he held out - to stop her, to hold her, he wasn't sure.
"Don't do this…" Killian pleaded, knowing that it would do no good. His hand left her as he touched her cheek bringing her forehead to him.
Emma looked him in the eyes and he saw it, he saw pain, conflict, sadness but he also saw love. And it was that love that would carry him through, he knew it. His hand settled on her forearm.
"I love you." Her voice was soft, strong but soft. He rushed out a breath at that. How he had longed to hear those words from her. How he wished not to hear them now.
As he felt her pull away from him. As he felt her about to give herself to the darkness, he acted.
"I'm sorry…"
With centuries worth of experience, he wrestled the blade from her hand. Pushing Emma out of the way, he raised it towards the swirl of Darkness surrounding Regina.
The Darkness was eager to find a new host.
“No!”
His vision was impaired by the Darkness' tendrils. It was loud, he noticed, inside the vortex. It sounded like screams. But he did as he could to keep his eyes on Emma. His Swan. His Savior.
He could feel the darkness become stronger and he gave her his best comforting smile before he disappeared.
For all the years finding a way to destroy the Dark one, it hadn't taken more than a second to become one to save the people he loves.
All that he left behind was a shiny dagger that now bore his name. Killian Jones carved there for better or worse.

Empty Darkness
If I had a nickel for every time one of my ships being canon meant that Character A was swallowed up by black ooze in a sacrifice play after just having told Character B that they loved them for the first time, all while Character B is pleading with them not to pull said sacrifice play until being shoved out of the path of danger, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
(And by weird I mean utterly heartrending and I now cannot see one of these scenes without getting double the angst by remembering the other. It’s unfortunate.)
