(S5 spoilers) so when Killian…

Died in the tail end of season 5 like, right before the Hades arc, I had a thought. Killian was impaled, which means he died of blood loss, now how long does it take to die of blood loss?

Depending on what blood vessels are broken…as long as five minutes

Let’s ponder that for a moment, yes? Killian could’ve been dying, for five minutes. Five minutes of bleeding to death on the ground while the woman he loves sobs and begs him not to leave her and he can’t do anything to comfort her while his body shuts down, he can’t talk because his neck wound opened back up and he just has to lay there and watch

And Killian wouldn’t have died painlessly either, he’d be incredibly dizzy and nauseous while feeling incredibly weak because of how low his pulse would be from losing all that blood. Not to mention Emma watching him die, she would have to sit there and watch as his skin turns pale and because she was basically on top of him, she would’ve felt his heart racing as he died until it eventually got lower and lower until he just flatlined, for five whole minutes

All this while everyone else has to just stand and see it all unfold

Snow and Charming, unable to comfort their daughter, knowing nothing they can say will ease her pain, Henry losing the only father figure he’s ever had, Regina only being able to look at Emma with sympathy because she’s gone through the same thing

All of this, for five, unbroken minutes
