oh yknow i think a very fun character would be like. one who doesnt search out revenge but will absolutely take it if given the opportunity. like its no skin off their back if they never get the chance to take revenge/fulfill a grudge, thats not their goal, but its not out of mercy or kindness, just a pragmatic 'i wont let this potential revenge destroy me in the process' approach to it. might have to include them as an oc in something 🤔

I feel bad for Starlo.
Star has a point, idk what the four were ticked off about, there is like 99% chance everyone willingly participated in the trolley problem, based on what we've seen of his behavior thus far it's not like Starlo to be that big of a jerk/drag them by force/yell at them to do it. Ed's words:
Tumblr media
he does it because Star asks NICELY
Tumblr media
clearly jealous
It genuinely seemed like a fun time/fun roleplay, especially since every day is the same. Like, the five are supposed to be a rowdy and adventures bunch, what exactly did Starlo do wrong, I'm genuinely confused and curious. Except taking a big liking in Clover (his posse should know that this is a big moment for him, according to Blackjack they've known each other since high school and had the same liking for westerns. So they were basically a nerd gang.) Starlo was kind, patient and considerate towards Clover the whole time, even warned Mooch about them not being bandits, taught Clover gun safety, wanted to bring his posse along for a fun time, thanked Ace for telling him about getting Clover a new hat...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sure, at first he only liked Clover for being a human, but as Ceroba says, that changed and he grew to genuinely care about them, plus I can't help but think Star saw himself in Clover and that's part of the reason he was so proud of them all the time even when they messed up (I'll talk more about this at some point)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What exactly made Ace want to leave the gang? He even said how he doesn't mind "getting run over by the fake train"
Tumblr media
he's so nice. says sorry for forgetting the safety goggles even when he was scatterbrained due to his excitement. I love him so much
The only real "faults" (I'll call them temporary faults) I saw in Star during the Wild East section was that he was even more enthusiastic and more proud than usual. But how couldn't he be when he met a member of the species that he has admired for so long because they have real cowboys and sheriffs on the surface (who are seen as brave heroes who deliver justice, while Star canonically feels like a nobody farmer). His posse should have realized Clover wouldn't be there forever and just let their boss enjoy himself with his "deputy who'd have to leave sooner or later anyway"(or be more patient with him/ask him why he feels this strongly towards Clover/if there's a deeper reason for that). His friends including Ceroba just turn their back on him so quickly instead. The moment he's gotten the chance to feel valued for once and put himself first and not have to take care of this whole town and everyone in it and live his dream of meeting a real human, suddenly "his personality is damaged?"
Star's literally built this whole town, organised everything, he worries about everyone, Ceroba (plus was the one to give her emotional strength before and after Clover's sacrifice), Kanako, the monsters, his family, struggles with feelings of worthlessness yet never wipes that smile off his face, always does his best to be hopeful and optimistic and make others laugh, gave his posse a nap time so they don't become exhausted, gave Ceroba a free home, didn't act upon his feelings towards her and was a 110% supportive, caring friend instead. THAT'S who he is. He's the papa bear of this friend group, the glue holding everyone together.
He was just *really* excited. Y'all know he's insecure and just wishes to escape who he is and yet y'all blame him for liking Clover so much. Yeah, the four are very clearly jealous. But why won't the four of you control your feelings for a while? As mentioned, Clover WILL HAVE TO LEAVE EVENTUALLY. They won't be Star's "deputy" forever (the kid who's just as into westerns as he is, who values justice just as much, who also values doing the right thing. Someone he clearly felt understood in the presence of, whom he loved; just look at the way he talks about Clove during Showdown). Star seems genuinely confused of what he did wrong poor guy just wanted to live his fantasy for once and feel important:
Tumblr media
Even at the beginning Moray's like "oh no Martlet is upset" Mooch replies "don't be a buzzkill nothing exciting ever happens around here" and Ray's like "Yeah you've got a point"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you all agreed to have a little fun with a human who will very soon leave forever why is Starlo's enthusiasm such a big problem? If the posse weren't into this after all (unless they were simply too jealous which could have been solved with a honest talk and a little patience) why are you doing this "rowdy" job with Star in the first place? Do you want your boring routine day to day life so much back? Or just for Clover to leave (which they will soon enough)? You, western enthusiasts, literally met a real human, A HUMAN FROM WESTERNS YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PASSIONATELY INTO (clearly not as passionate as Star but passionate ENOUGH to understand where he's coming from).
... okay.

I agree with you a lot
I don't understand why people are excusing quackity so much. He should've been aware of all this and should have done something.
Tbh he should have never allowed this situation to happen. Imo he was ignorant at best, and negligent at worst.
While he was travelling the world and receiving prizes and recognition, his employees and volunteers were working day and night with little to no pay.
It's good that there's pressure on top of him. His name is attached to the server, to the brand. It's his responsibility. He needs to fix this.
I'm more willing to believe workers that have nothing to lose than a guy who can lose it all.
Sorry if this is too long, or too heated. I'm really disappointed at how the fandom is dealing with this, in its majority. And im glad there's someone who shares the same pov as me.
(i started rambling on this ask im sorry. i didnt word this perfectly so hopefully no one takes this in bad faith.)
almost the entire fandom + the ccs are seeing the best in him, and really really want qsmp to continue. a bit of public pressure doesn't hurt imo. as long as there's clear communication, qstudios' rep shouldn't take a hit - we're all rooting for him. its completely understandable that these reconstructions take time, that people will have to be laid off, but as long as there's clear communication between him and his workers, it should all end up okay.
i totally get all the points that the third party information may not be accurate, that its jumping the gun and sending people on doomposting spirals, but i genuinely do think there is nothing wrong with going public about working conditions. its prompted multiple admins to speak up now, and its let the head admins know that mistreatment will be caught now. having all information solely coming from the company's side is worse. and that's not being distrustful of quackity - that's just being understanding of natural bias.
its important for the fandom to amplify the voices speaking out. this doesn't mean we make crazy conspiracies on how it's all over or whatever, but qstudios has a platform to speak out on, and the workers don't. the doomposting is an unintended consequence, but this is internet fandom after all lol.

I saw somebody discuss it a while back ago, but it was so affirming and I wanted to open a similar discussion here...
I've noticed in myself and others this intense (genuine) trigger response to people not understanding us or our words or whatever it may be, and it can feel so important that you correct people, that people know you, not a shitty cut-out version of you.
I think this is a valid response, of course. It is completely understandable, and I get where it comes from. When I was in the middle of abuse, I was misrepresented in order to be abused, so it can be a genuine trigger for something "small" you said, did, or are to be misinterpreted or twisted into something it isn't. It turns from, "this person didn't bother reading what I'm saying," to, "this person might be just like them, they're going to hurt me."
My overall point is that a huge part of living is this misinterpretation of you or your character, and it isn't your fault, and it isn't in your control. Hell, even, a huge aspect of language itself is in not being able to fully represent you or what you're saying because language is interpretive and based (in part) on other people's interpretation of what you said. They fill in the blanks with their own experiences, desires, or their own character, and at some point, it isn't really about you, you know?
My biggest piece of advice is learning how to let people be wrong. This shit, of trying to correct every single person? Personally, I have found it to be exhausting, and it feels like I'm blaming myself not only for everybody's interpretation of every little thing I do but also for abuse that led to this intense of a response. It's really hard to let people be wrong, yes, but it also has allowed me and permitted me to be more interested in my own life, not in my life in other people's brains. It's given me that specific freedom from abuse, from worry.

#Doodles#SCII#Helix#ZEX#DAX#Hhgghghhhh ;;;; ♥#Have I mentioned I love them lately#ZEX recognizing DAX's voice in Dexter is /so/ good ugh#For so many reasons! The implicit trust! How Dexter is able to manipulate him even unwittingly just how much of an effect he can have!#But also of being able to be honest with him in a way that he won't let himself be with other humans because well they're human#ZEX is terrible in many ways that I love him for deeply <3 His biases let him self-sabotage so easily haha#He has so much to unlearn from VUX propaganda even being as open-minded as he is! Well also in part Because of his open-mindedness lol#Fetishism rather ♪ Seeing humans as a monolith and getting so hopelessly swept up in his attraction across the board#He's a complex individual with a long history rooted in what and who he is! I like him very very much!#His biases cut both ways of course - since Dex has a familiar voice he of course must be a VUX! And here he could be ;;#Someone who just by the nature of his familiarity is safe but to actually listen to and validate him ugh ;;♥#The thing that kills me the absolute most is that Dexter /could/ give this to him - but won't#He has his voice his cadence his accent his way of speaking - and yet#At least if DAX was actually here he could offload some of his emotions properly rather than bottling everything up#ZEX keeps a lot of things to himself :( Like he can't bear to burden anyone else with them - or else his pride gets in the way haha#He's so condescending towards humans to his own detriment <3#At least if he had DAX he'd have more-or-less an equal - someone he could share his pain with ;;#As well as the comfort of validation and something - anything - to keep him grounded and tethered to his life#Comfort is just as precious a commodity as information - allies - weapons - supplies! It's all about balance <3

“Listen, now. On the other hand, you have fresh, young forces that are being wasted for lack of support, and that by the thousands, and that everywhere! | A hundred, a thousand good deeds and undertakings that could be arranged and set going by the money that old woman has doomed to the monastery! | Hundreds, maybe thousands of lives put right; dozens of families saved from destitution, from decay, from ruin, from depravity, from the venereal hospitals—all on her money. | Kill her and take her money, so that afterwards with its help you can devote yourself to the service of all mankind and the common cause: what do you think, wouldn’t thousands of good deeds make up for one tiny little crime? For one life, thousands of lives saved from decay and corruption. One death for hundreds of lives—it’s simple arithmetic! | And what does the life of this stupid, consumptive, and wicked old crone mean in the general balance? | No more than the life of a louse, a cockroach, and not even that much, because the old crone is harmful. | She’s eating up someone else’s life: the other day she got so angry that she bit Lizaveta’s finger; they almost had to cut it off!” | Dostoevsky, Fyodor/Crime and Punishment: A Novel in Six Parts with Epilogue/Vintage Classics/p. 68

Maybe I'm just autistic but I feel like a lot of infighting on this website can be boiled down to "I read a thing a person said about xyz discourse topic and here are all the secret implied messages that person is REALLY saying and by exposing the secret hidden meaning i have proven that people on side x of xyz are evil liars that support the devil" and like. idk man i think acting like everything is a coded message isn't the most helpful. y'know. maybe. maybe treating everything as a matter of ulterior motives doesn't say anything about the other side of the argument but just your own cognitive biases and what you already believe. maybe taking people's words in good faith and asking questions about the things you don't understand, or that don't mesh with how you understand the world, or that fly in the face of known research and facts is good. maybe we should do that instead of ascribing hidden meaning to human people on the internet with beliefs that are different than yours, even when they are flawed or expressed badly, like they are works of fiction up to interpretation.

TRUE!!! the original post was just made in reference to things that had inspired my own design and a wish to see more variety among the masked long-haired braided human designs that were absolutely DOMINATING the place at the time (nothing wrong with that, love those ones and i've drawn a few myself, just came from a perspective of missing seeing the truly unique designs that made me associate the design with the artist ;-;) but yea it definitely applies outside of just him. and outside of just pigs, looking at random animals can be a great reminder of how varied and weird some stuff can actually be :D
one of my favorite ocs, who i have drawn a grand total of two times bc i have been very lazy with art lately, actually ended up happening only because i got inspired by my own post fkjdhg

like. yes. humans are terrible a lot of the time. but holy shit it's so fucking insane that we even exist in the first place, let alone that we've built everything that we've built, let alone that we still have access to as much history as we do, and if i think too hard about stories i feel A Lot because it goes back and back and back and throughout everything that we've been through as a species, stories have always held us together, stories and dreams and poems and it fucks me up sometimes because when i'm studying poetry it's easy to think 'ugh this is so dull' but then you read one tiny line and then you're punched in the gut and you remember that this was written by a person, a person who was alive, once, and that in your hands your hold a tiny little piece of their heart and their hopes and their dreams, and it's sort of necromancy, isn't it, to read what they wrote and feel what they felt, and we're human and we've always been human, and if we've always had stories and words and poetry then they're us, really, and we're them, and i don't understand people who find literature boring because it's just it's the sum of everything that the author's ever known, every experience they've had, every other book they've read which has been the sum of everything another's ever known and there's not really a point to this but we are indistinguishable from our stories, we are our stories and our wars and our love and and and and
