I didn't think you could do that on the mobile site but it's eas #WHY does anyone use the app??#the only thing I can't seem to do is drag and rearrange tags anymore #but god knows that feature never seemed to work on the app either 🙄#it just rearranged tags in random order so you'd spend way too long trying to fix them before giving up and rewriting #or maybe I just have thick fingertips and it's a skill issue but whatever #point is: zero buyer remorse this is so much better #it's a brave new world y'all 😆#hellsite #game changer

found out while putting together matthias's oc page that his name has the exact same etymology and meaning as theo's name...

yall i gotta ask. I wanna make a fanfic for the prohibited wish ship. and I heard ppl toss around the idea of an office au. I'd like to do it but I'm not 100% sure how. Like I know a general idea but also, would their names still be the same or should I come up with my own names for them? Should I rewatch adventure time and fionna and cake episodes to make some of the characters I haven't seen in a while more accurate to their personality? At which point do these characters just end up being a new OC but taking up space on a preexisting character?

I do genuinely enjoy pedantry and quibbling and disagreeing with fine-grained details of every sentence ever uttered as any good marxist does, the problem is that tumblr is a horrific platform to nurture that enjoyment on and turns all of us into grand dogmatists where any quibble is a sign of enemy infiltration

#I have two friends I deeply enjoy disagreeing with but there needs to be like a particular trust and intimacy in place first #like some random asshole replying to your post to be a pedant is not a scenario in which you’re having a fruitful discussion #again I think ‘nuance’ as a rhetoric device has a particularly poisonous mainstream applications on social media #where people want to be a devil to the details for either clowning on you or dismissing your entire point #maybe I just need to make a new blog actually lol. this is probably just a symptom of having too many people follow you #but in general like I don’t find social media to be a productive public square of any kind #you’re only going to get that in smaller groups or with people you have a prior established relationship with #I have found random people whose disagreements with me are genuinely productive but that is the exception that proves the norm #in my experience

ugh I reallllyyyyy didn’t want to get in on this but like

The assumption that all atheists are people who’ve “never touched a religious text in their life” basically says to me you have a specific view of atheists and have probably not known many.

Most of them grew up IN the system and DO know the text and THAT’S why they walk away.

If you’re gonna make a whole post on ppl not using nuance with CR stuff right now the least you can do is use nuance yourself and not paint an entire group of people with a brush that TV taught you, or a bunch of white men into power *cough* Dawkins *cough* coopted a movement in a society where to not believe in god is synonymous with being immoral.

So just keep in mind, the representation of people without faith that you see on TV or twitter isn’t the majority and 9 times out of 10 isn’t correct at all.
