it's about time i officially shared my design for Clip from my hairdresser au! here's the silly boi himself!

a.k.a. the most complicated character i've ever designed...

that's my boi, despite his crazy design, i love him. his silly top knot hat, the horn-like points around his faceplate, his speckled colours, his four arms, and his funky pants. he's just soooooo fun.

Clip likes to play games and knit! he even made the patchwork pants he wears (he made Sun and Moon a pair too, but they're too precious for them to wear... also a little gaudy to wear in public—doesn't stop Clip tho!). He actually makes everything the boys wear, since there's not a lot of things in their size/shape.

instead of resting at night, he can be found in their living room, playing Kirby 64 for the nth time and/or knitting something. he's just too restless to stay still, he's always gotta be doing something and if it isn't gaming, knitting, or hairdressing, then he's up to No GoodTM.

Clip... likes popping balloons. he says "Goodnight!" with each popped balloon and once he's done, he tosses up the scraps like confetti all while giggling joyfully.

needless to say, he is not fun at parties. Sun and Moon don't let him near balloons for this reason.

and yes, he has sewing needles on hand at all times. for fashion emergencies... and for unsuspecting balloons.

Clip's not allowed to have a phone (just imagine all the in-app purchases Sun and Moon would have to deal with), but he likes to keep up with his customers and their games, even if he doesn't get their fixation over bluenets he'll never openly admit it but he prefers curly-haired blond hunks that look sweet in soft pastels but could also squash him like the spider he is

also, he's great at microbraiding! though i imagine if Sun and Moon are free, they'd come help to shorten the wait but also to compete and see who braids the most (Clip always wins of course—make anything into a game, and he's winning)

aaaaand there's this! i wanted to make sure Clip would be able to freely rotate his waist so his arms could have their full range of motion, and this was the solution i came up with: a crop top on top and a wrap around his waist. and Clip here is being a sneaky little scamp about it.

So back in October I went to käärijä Berlin gig giving out some Bojere stickers I made. Five of those went to Mikke (another story but I had sort of promised to give him some xD).

This was however also the same gig where Salena joined Jere on stage. I didnt meet her in person but had a blast seeing her perform with the boy 🥹💚

Fast forward three months later (here's to me feeling old 🫠) and Salena had an IG live performance yesterday. One friend in that live (hi Niini :3) noticed others speaking about a sticker and got curious: lo and behold Salena had decorated her laptop with the exact sticker I had given people at the Berlin gig 😳😱

My theory is that Mikke must have given one of his five stickers to Salena as a thank you for her coming. And now I have to live with the blessed knowledge that Salena has Bojere art I made on her laptop 😭

But that is not all - when I realised that yesterday I made a story about it and today I got a message that Salena has replied 😱:

I don't have my GtN book to quote anything ( it's being borrowed) but I'm relistening to the audio book, and I can't stop thinking about how the second time "Dulcinea" talks to Gideon she sounds very similar to Mercymorn talking about the age gap of lyctors and regular humans (Phhaa! Babies! Yuck!). Just the way she says she feels old, she feels she has lived forever, how the 4th are babies compared to her. If I remember correctly, she refers to Gideon as a child, but in the context of knowing about Cytherea, my mind has gone crazy over the snippets where she talks to Gideon about how she describes how old she feels. Maybe the first time around reading or from Gideon's point, it was that deep feeling of sad words from a lady who was dying and every year of time draws on as she awaits death that makes her feel old. Really, it's just a Lyctor and their language to call non lyctor teenagers babies (?) and just feeling incredibly old as being lyctors compared to a regular human teen

I can't get over how I momentarily paused when I heard "dulcinea" call the 4th babies, and I'm just thinking how the Mercymorn is showing. How this interaction feels like foreshadowing now that I know what it all means to Cytherea more than the Dulcinea she pretended to be.

Or in reality, I'm looking WAY to deep into this (highly doubt for this book series), not lining up what I listened to properly, I potentially don't have the best memory to be writing this out, or this has probably already been mentioned by someone with more braincells than me before. And that's all dandy.

can we please as a collective stop making comments about innocent things in fics that are not 100% accurate? it’s extremely hard for me as a non-american to keep track of exact accents and words used in certain regions and what not. I’m already trying my hardest, writing in a language that is not my first one. I would never go on a fic and comment inaccuracies of Swedish lore? Or of things I have extensive knowledge of in like an off-hand “omg that person would never use that word bc they’re from there 🤣” way.

It feels very hurtful in the way that us non-Americans are really trying to make your reader experience as enjoyable and life-like (in some cases) as possible - but it is simply impossible for us to remember and know every single aspect of your culture, dialects, laws, and regulations in all the different states…
