Adhering to Relevant Consumer Protection Laws

People’s Bank of China (PBOC) governor Yi Gang has said the process of designing China’s central bank digital currency (CBDC), the digital yuan (also known as e-CNY), is guided by two principles: maintaining financial security and the protection of users’ privacy. To ensure the principles are adhered to, Gang claimed his institution’s role will be limited to managing the e-CNY operating system as well as handling cross-border transactions. Also, in his Oct.31 remarks to Hong Kong Fintech Week 2022 participants, Gang insisted the PBOC “does not handle personal transaction information.” This task as well as the provision of e-CNY exchange services and circulation of the digital currency is handled by the so-called “designated operating institutions.” Meanwhile, the PBOC governor appeared to use his speech, which was delivered in his native language, to reiterate the bank’s commitment to the law. He said: “The People’s Bank of China strictly follows relevant laws and regulations on consumer privacy protection and ensures the security of personal information through advanced technical means and strict management mechanisms. Transaction data is encrypted and stored. personal sensitive information, which is not visible to third parties. Without the full authorization of the law, no unit or individual may inquire about or use the relevant information.”

Narrowing the Financial Exclusion Gap

According to Gang, e-CNY users will have access to 4 wallets with lower limits as well as “quasi-account-type ‘hard wallets’ support small-value anonymous transactions both online and offline.” The governor also used his speech to reassure the Chinese public that the PBOC will still “provide physical RMB cash services to fully meet the needs of the public.” Concerning the ongoing research and development of the digital yuan, the PBOC revealed that this is being done to gain knowledge about the domestic retail payment needs as well as to “improve the level of financial inclusion.” The improving of “the efficiency of the central bank’s currency issuance and payment system” is another reason why the POBC is proceeding with the digital currency project, Gang added. In addition to its research, the Chinese central bank is working with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and according to Gang, the PBOC is also open to working with other monetary authorities. The yuan's slide is yet another example of a currency weakening as a result of the strong dollar. It is also about the very different paths China and the United States are taking in response to economic issues at home. The PBOC has been easing interest rates to revive growth in an economy ravaged by Covid lockdowns, while the US Federal Reserve is moving aggressively in the opposite direction as it tries to control inflation. Such a divergence is not wholly problematic, Joseph Capurso, head of international and sustainable economics at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia said. The fall in the currency's value can actually be helpful for exporters within China, he said, because it would make their goods cheaper and so could increase demand. That said, exports only make up 20% of the Chinese economy these days, so a weak yuan will not turn around fundamental weakness domestically largely caused by Beijing's zero-Covid strategy and a property crisis, said Mr Capurso. A weaker currency can also lead to investors pulling their money out of the country and uncertainty in financial markets - something Chinese officials will want to avoid with the Communist Party Congress coming up next month, when its president Xi Jinping is expected to secure an unprecedented third term in office.

Joyboy fella does not have a name yet- (only characters from my songs up to the quick brown fox have names)

As for character lore there isn’t much but here’s a few random facts

- the doll from twister belong to a boy in a once family of five. The boy was the only survivor from the tornado and the lyrics from twister are basically him having survivors guilt.

- the guy from wiretap is in prison for tax fraud

- smile for them silly has a dad and a brother! Her brother hates both of them!!!

- cautionary girly met tsublinky when she was going to write a story about them but they ended up becoming friends and are now dating. (Charlie isn’t that good of a person but tsublinky tries to help her become one)

- I killed JFK girly is autistic and is the cousin of Joyboy the boy. They don’t talk to often, they have their own problems and are trying to get through them.

- The quick brown fox manly man is apart of a larger story but he has a friend named coral. (they look like this)

The whole song also takes place in Damian’s dreams (that one part where he was in bed was when he was awake)

- the woman from my proclivity is basically the mother figure of the group of tense and contempt people, despite some of them being older then her. She likes snakes and Law and Order.

- DUCK DUCK GIRLY, is an arsonist and former member of the marine core. She once was on a ship by herself, the boat didn’t survive.

- joyboy the boy is trans, he has his own problems and acts in a way beyond his control. He’s getting better tho

- Existential undead (the first) was based of the vocaloid Vivi, she was s singer with imposter syndrome.

- Existential undead girly (the good one) was friends with Vivi, they are no longer friends. She is a singer with imposter imposter syndrome.

What Beijing really must do, if it wants to change the dynamics of the global payments system, is convince the Saudis to hold a major portion of their reserves in RMB assets. in which case whether or not they accept payment in RMB is largely irrelevant.

But not only will the Saudis not want to hold more than a tiny portion of their reserves in RMB assets, but if they did, this would cause the PBoC to lose control of the RMB and of the domestic financial system in ways they will never accept.
