You must play with aging on. Though you can choose whatever lifespan you wish - I recommend "Normal" lifespan mode.

Household sims cannot be aged up until you get a notification saying that it is their birthday.

Give infants/toddlers traits that you think fit the requirements of their later life.

It's up to you if you want your sims to attend university (unless stated otherwise in that gen's rules).

Money cheats are NOT allowed.

You can give the sims extra traits (Growing Together) but NEVER change the original 3 assigned to the heirs.

You can live anywhere you want & may move whenever and as often as you like (unless stated otherwise in that gen's rules).

All goals and requirements should be met before moving on to the next generation.

If you see a rule that you can’t do because you don’t have the required pack, you can skip it or replace it with something you deem fitting for that generation.
