“Tutti cercano la loro strada, noi stiamo cercando la nostra e crediamo che il giorno in cui sarà arrivato il regno della libertà e dell'uguaglianza, l'umanità sarà felice." Con questa citazione di Louise Michel, figura emblematica della Comune di Parigi inizio oggi a pubblicare delle immagini e delle note riguardanti La Comune di Parigi (La Commune de Paris) di cui quest’anno ricorre il 150° anniversario. Un secolo e mezzo dopo questa rivolta popolare contro il potere conservatore - nata sulle rovine della sconfitta francese contro i prussiani - e infine calpestata nel sangue, è ancora degna di essere pianta e ricordata. Questa insurrezione popolare, nel 1871, prendendo il potere di Parigi, per tre mesi si trovò a specchiare e ad affrontare moltissime problematiche dell’epoca moderna ancora attuali e molte ancora oggi irrisolte.

Choices Caught in the unforgiving heat but drawn to the promise of warmth and suggestion of the fulfilment of personal desires. Scared of crossing into the shadows and not wanting to take the less trodden path due to uncertainly and the inability to see the path. Which direction do you walk? This is photo digital artwork that I created by blending many layers and images together. I then printed the image on canvass and hand mounted it on an artboard 40cm tall x 30cm wide which I painted to match the colours. Then I added several layers of home made encaustic medium (5 to 1 mix for those that are interested) adding some texture and leaving the wax drips on the borders. “Quand nous chanterons” di Lia e Paolo Aldi. Dedicato alle donne e agli uomini della Comune di Parigi, 1871, e al loro tentativo di scalare il cielo.

Mixed media fatto con fotografie, bende e cera d’api su tavole di legno. Le dimensioni sono 45,5 x 60 x 3 cm. La tecnica usata è quella dell’encausto fotografico.

Nel lavoro sono utilizzate: fotografia d’epoca, di autore sconosciuto, della barricata de la Chaussée Ménilmontant, 18 marzo 1871 durante la Comune di Parigi; manifesto del ministero della guerra della Comune di Parigi; stemma della Guardia nazionale di Parigi; spartito musicale di “Quand nous chanterons le temps des cerises”.
