Amethio x Preformer!Reader | HCs & Drabbles

Note-- some of this is written at unholy hours of the morning(/lh) so some parts may not make sense, but I edited this in the morning again, so hopefully that balances it out.

Amethio was usually too focused on his work to look at work to watch anything really,

Conia was the one who showed him the pokémon performers, and you instantly stood out to him.

No matter what pokémon you had with you, you always brought out their full potential,

For crying out loud, you could be using Giratina and you'd be able to make the deity look graceful and like it doesn't have some twisted backstory

You were able to ace most, if not all, challenges that came your way.

Sure you may have struggled with some, but you kept going. You never backed down and that's what he loved about you.

The two of you probably met through Conia, she was a close friend of yours who was always there to support you, and even though you hesitated slightly at meeting Amethio, her superior, who wouldn't? You expected him to be a serious adult and not someone your own age, but she later convinced you that it was a good idea.

When you two finally met, you were in Sinnoh to relax and train your 'mons, and Conia, alongside Zir and Amethio were there because they heard of Kleavor and wanted to get to it before the RVT did.

You two meeting was a complete coincidence and it was unplanned, (Conia originally planned on having the two of you meeting up after their current mission which was to track down Kleavor), so it was a suprise when you heard your best friend yelling your name.

Hearing your name being yelled you quickly spun around to meet a familiar greyish-blue haired woman running over to you.

The two of you have been friends since highschool, and thinking back on it, she was like an older sister to you, always helping you get to class and was the main reason you passed calculus.

Crashing into your arms she gave you a tight hug, clearly missing someone who she views as a younger sibling. Your beloved partner pokémon quickly glances up at the two of you before letting out a happy cry and glancing at Conia, waiting for her to release her Psyduck.

You could see a taller man -who you assumed is Zir- somewhat behind her covering with a shorter man as they approached the two of you rather slowly.

"Your last performance was great, even Amethio and Zir watched you,"

A smile of pride paints Conia's face before she releases her Psyduck -now Golduck- to play with your 'mons.

"Really,?"

You would've never believed it yourself if it weren't for Zir nodding behind her, you wouldn't have believed her. Zir was never interested in anything related to performances, and as far as you've heard, Amethio would probably find it not worthy of his time as he's often training to get better.

But you were suprised to see that you were so wrong with assuming Amethio wouldn't watch you perform,

He enjoyed every moment of your performance, even the challenges that happened before.

The 'challenge' that happened before you had a performance against the Kalos Queen, Serena, involved a pokémon battle.

Not just any regular battle- well, it was a regular battle but it had a spin- you had to show off your partner's moves, and the way they phrased it was a bit off, but it was like a performance whilst battling,

If the two of you ever began to date, expect him to be at every performance. He loves watching you and your pokémon preform, even if you don't win and get to compete in the next rounds, he still is proud of you, knowing how hard it must be to perform not only infront of hundreds of people in person but probably thousands if you concider those watching online.

With that being said, if you ever struggle oe need help, he's the last person you should ask.

Amethio only knows pokémon moves in a literal battling sense, not a performance sense, so he won't be able to help you.

He barely even understands how you manage to turn any move into one for show instead of damage.

But expect him to be there for every performance (he will try his best to go to them, even if it means sneaking out and doing dumb teenager things, he doesn't mind it as much),

Quickly scanning the area, you look for the familiar ravenhead, he's always there to greet you after your performances, -but he did say that he might not be able to meet you because of something to do with summoning a legandary pokémon or something similar that you didn't understand-

You've changed into your regular clothes after the performance for comfort and possible safety issues as you've heard many rumours and horror stories of performers -especially female performers- being harassed by crazed fans.

Feeling a tap on your shoulder, you quickly spin around, anxious to see who may have recognised you, until you heard the familiar voice that put your mind at ease.

"I apologise, I had to get something, that's why I'm late," the familiar ravenhead told you as he handed over a bouquet of flowers, he had always bought you something after your performances without fail, and it truly makes you appreciate him more than you currently do if that's even possible.

In all honesty, you probably wouldn't be aware of Amethio's occupation and role with the Explorers, he doesn't want you to talk to the other admins as he doesn't want either of you to be targets of their comments.

If he does see any of them when the two of you are out, he'd try and avoid them,

If he can't avoid them, he'd definitely deal with them, excusing himself politely, saying that he sees one of colleagues and it is in your best intrest to not interact with them.

Amethio's worst nightmare would be Sango or Spinel finding out you're dating him.

Sango would make her usual Sango remarks whilst Spinel would tell him how shallow he is, spoiler alert- he isn't, he genuinely cares for you, and how it's a typical teenager relationship that probably won't last long

Jokes on him, Amethio never planned for the relationship to be short and genuinely wants it to work out, but if you ever want to leave, he won't stop you.

Silly Little Summaries HZ001-HZ005

So I've seen other people reviewing episodes of Horizons and I really wanted to do the same but I don't have the time for full reviews. So instead I'll be writing very short, very dumb summaries of each episode in bunches of five. These are written with love of the show in mind and are just for fun so don't take them too seriously now. Without further ado here are the first five "reviews":

HZ001: Cat Girl starts school and is promptly attacked by Tofu and kidnapped by Pirates + she acquires Leafage.

HZ002: These Pirates are the good kind but Leafage gets yoinked + Tofu fights Mr. Doctor Professor and his partner Spongebob.

HZ003: Cat Girl reacquires Leafage and becomes a Pirate + proper introductions for John, Swiss, and Merryweather

Alternate Title: Cat Girl gets her p*ssy back

HZ004: Friede Jr. finds Hungry, a flag, and a dream 

HZ005: Friede Jr. is still Hungry + Swiss can’t sew but bugs can

so... hz ships.

right now, they’re kinda nameless. well, not exactly, with the use of japanese portmanteaus being popular. but, just to be a bit more ‘mainstream’ at least in pokémon, they deserve ‘_shipping’ names.

how about we give them some?

i did not make all of these ship names. i made some of them, but some were taken from my friends or may have gotten usage already. 

let’s start off with, from what i’ve seen, one of the most popular ships in horizons, ameliko. since i don’t ship this, i’m unfamiliar with the fandom, and have no idea if they already have a name. but i’ll still give them one: pendantmissionshipping. i don’t really like it, since it’s probably not gonna end up a huge part of their characters like it is now, but it works.

next, let’s do likoroy, or royliko as some people call it. let’s start off with the fact that it literally cannot be horizonshipping. it can’t. the name’s taken, it’s been taken since the old bulbagarden shipping list. so, there’s the alternative newhorizonshipping, and it’s probably the most similar that we can get since ‘horizonsshipping’ just sounds stupid.

alright, ann x liko. it was the most popular liko ship during hz001 and hz002, but recently it hasn’t been as popular compared to other ships. the recommended one is aiboushipping, ‘aibou’ means partner in japanese. sidekick, one and only. i think it fits quite well.

the last ‘main’ liko ship is dot x liko, which i don’t really have any idea for. i do like the name ideas of superfanshipping and guruminshipping, and i think those fit best out of the ones i’ve seen recommended. i’d love to find better names for them, since i do enjoy them as a pairing.

since there aren’t many ‘main’ roy ships besides likoroy, let’s move onto my favorite platonic soulmates, furiame. the recommended name for them is freedexplorershipping, which, oh my god, fits perfectly. it’s both obscure but not absolutely ridiculous, and it’s literally perfect for them.

one of the other friede ships, friede x murdock, is one i did make a name for, which i’m very much proud of. capncrunchshipping surprisingly isn’t a taken name, and it makes sense for both characters and their jobs on the ship. rn, this may jst be my horizons otp, half because of the name. airfryershipping is another name i enjoy.

orla x mollie is definetly the most popular yuri ship in horizons up to this point. they’re just.. oh my god. i suggest the name heartstruckshipping for them, since it again, makes sense for the characters’ jobs. and it’s just a gorgeous ship name, they deserve a gorgeous name.

there are other ships, like friede x mollie, or amethio x spinel, or one of the many rarepairs i’ve already made, but the last ship i’ll talk about is zir x conia. since the name ‘explorershipping’ is taken, explorersshipping could work, as i’ve seen recommended. it doesn’t sound as goofy as ‘horizonsshipping’, and it works for them.

but, i really wanna see what other people think could be their ship names!!

Pros and Cons of each Pokémon series

OS: Great world-building but permanently hurt the foundation of the series with its adaptation of the game mechanics

AG: Established a better foundation for characters with plots and growth and such but lack of standout factor will always make it the forgotten middle child of OS and DP

DP: Has some of the best aspects of Pokémon in general like rivals and characterization but also has some of the worst handling of other aspects like pacing and balancing

BW: In a vacuum is one of the better series to start with due to its more modern take on OS with numerous improvements, but in reality, it’s the middle series and it's being treated like a new beginning hurts it as it can’t escape that aspect o resetting things while also trying to keep the past alive

XY: On paper did a lot pretty well, from pacing to presentation but it also felt shallow at times as the depth wasn't truly there for some of the decisions the series made making it feel like the pretty but shallow stereotype of the shows

SM: Had pretty excellent character work, but the change in formula does make a lot of things feel extra instead of vital in the grand scheme of things

JN: it did a good job of going through all regions and giving the characters reasons and purpose to be there but a lot of past aspects people want and expect fell short such as not as much Galar or Chloe not being a true third member

HZ: (still early so these are just based on the 22 episodes I've watched) Can feel the anime team has now a proper feel of the world and characters but also the anime has less of a motivating factor to watch as the goals lend well to keeping the anime going Roy’s and Friede’s goals are like Ash’s Pokemon Master goal, and Liko is in her Chloe not completely sure yet period but the driving factor to keep coming back week to week is weak so far

I stick with a previous statement I've made where each series is like a 7/10 just focusing on different things where depending on your preferences and such can like one series more than the other

If you like action more then you would like XY more, if you like character building more you might like SM more etc

Something I don't think people have said much before is that I think OS, BW, and XY are great for people not familiar with Pokemon previously whereas AG, DP, and JN are great for those who know the history of the series and even games

This means a fan of like 20 years would hate BW but love DP because of the soft reset and following DP where Ash was at a high but someone new would appreciate BW more than a DP as DP doesn't welcome new people as much as a BW

I like all series but have just been seeing more discourse specifically around XY again online and felt that I should post my thoughts as I do like each series but each has its own problems

Like if want to just relax and have fun with the show I would put on OS or SM, action DP or XY, Want to get a concise viewing of a standard Ash journey BW, watch Ash win AG or JN, or something new with no cost worries HZ

I finally got a redesign down I wanted for Liko. Since the anime keeps changing its goal posts (you don’t dramatically soft reset the story from treasure hunt to middle school AU if things are going well), I reset HZ on my end because the distinction I wanted with Ash at school for fanon and Liko adventuring for canon didn’t work anymore.

In this version of events, Liko Blue is a budding adventurer who wants to follow in her grandparents’ footsteps, but was being groomed to become a Professor by her studious mother. Trying to meet half way, her mom sends her abroad to Kanto’s Indigo Academy, though Liko still felt constrained and a bit envious of her older cousins Indigo and Cobalt and childhood friend Roy at being free to be Trainers and go on their own adventures.

Liko and her cousins stop a robbery at the Pewter Museum where Team Explorer steals a mysterious relic on exhibit. Friede and Roy appear after the battle, confirming the item is from the lost civilization Rakua, a place Friede is determined to find and prove its existence. Liko, a history geek in this version of events, sees it as an opportunity to finally become an adventurer, joins Friede, accompanied by her beloved cousins.

The idea in Liko Version is she’s the green recruit, still trying to figure out what she wants but knows this is the best way to accomplish her adventurer dream. She’s good at sniffing out certain things of interest the other kids would miss because of her geeky side.

While Ash, Iono and Alfie deal with school shenanigans and the resurrection of the Treasures of Ruin, the Blue Cousins uncover the secrets of Rakua and Pokémon related to its existence. Both parties have to deal with Team Explorer who have an interest in both the Treasures and Rakua.
