I'm insanely proud of this illustration!
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team drove me crazy.
Anyways, here's Froggy the Bulbasaur and her partner Pickles the Pikachu! I didn't realize this game would be such an emotional rollercoaster when I named them... 😅

I honestly can't remember if my earliest Pokemon game was Pokemon Heartgold or if it was Blue Rescue Team, but the mystery dungeon series will be forever one of my favorite game series in existence.
I mostly remember my playthrough where I played a Skitty named Mittens with her partner, Charmander (unnamed, I think), though I decided to use my first ever team for this artwork instead. I remember the first time I played; imagine me as a little girl doing the PMD quiz to decide what pokemon I am and getting... Machop. LOL.
Little kid me REALLY loved Pikachu, like I had a Pikachu pillow from ToysRUs that was very well loved. That said, my bestie and I both reset our games to get ourselves to both play as Pikachu. Her partner, Bulbasaur, and mine, Charmander.

Oh I simply Love this cover because it’s part of a set!
(Via bulbagarden)
Because the original ds had a GameBoy slot on the bottom and the DS slot on the top, the covers for the DS version of the game have the characters looking down a hole and the GameBoy version has them looking up! That’s so smart!!
I also love when cases have the main characters with the bad guys lurking in the shadows. Unfortunately between the two there are only 8 of the 16 potential pokemon the player can play as but I understand it would get a bit too busy if it had that.
Anyway if a kid knew nothing on the plot of this game, if they liked pokemon at all it would definitely call to them. It tells a little story and I love the color schemes a dark blue forest at night and a cave illuminated by red firelight~
It’s also genuinely a good game/games and if you haven’t checked it out they remade it for Switch but I still am more fond of the pixel art of the original even though the new versions 3D graphics are very cute.
The story is you wake up one day and have become a pokemon (chosen by a personality test). You can’t remember why, but by traveling around the world you’ll probably find some answer’s somewhere, so join a rescue team! Explore randomly generated maze dungeons to rescue pokemon, find lost items and try and figure out Why you are a Pokemon!
It’s actually a very compelling story and as a child my mind was blown in the segment where you must visit a snowy mountain. No spoilers~
