Octavian is probably the most fleshed out villain in Poptropica. His intentions were good, he was trying to prevent the disasters throughout history to make a perfect world, but he didn't realize messing with the timeline would lead to more unknown disasters, and he killed many innocent people to do it. So he's not 100% a bad guy, but he's still a villain since he messed everything up and killed many people.
Octavian is basically the Thanos of Poptropica.
A villain with good intentions and a sympathetic backstory, but who had committed many atrocities in order to create a perfect world (or universe), and believe they are 100% right.
Oh, and they both got f**ked up in the end. (Thanos being erased, and Octavian being split into millions of pieces and scattered across the multiverse. Octavian's fate is actually much more dark than Thanos'. Thanos should be grateful!)
Probably the first and last time you'll see a Poptropica villain be compared to a Marvel villain...
Now all we need is for people to make an r/OctavianDidNothingWrong reddit page, and we'll be good to go.
Okay so the main protag of the third short story, The Mask, is named Alec and he has 2 best friends, Boris and Genevieve, Boris and Genevieve are "in love" and Alec has to put on an emotional mask to hide his true feelings, and he compares it to a mask in the play
After a bit, Genevieve seemingly commits suicide by jumping into a vat of this chemical compound that turns living matter into stone. Boris later also commits suicide because of his grief, leaving everything he owned to Alec
The chemicals were temporary and Genevieve came back to life and she and Alec were allowed to be together, but that's not the end. Alec puts on another mask for the final time and it morphs onto his face and he becomes the stranger from the play, and likely a lackey of the King in Yellow if not the reality time bending entity themselves
The very one with the quote "I wear no mask"
I may be grasping at straws here but Omegon quoting this line in particular seems important at the least
i’m absolutely NOT normal about omegon shes been on my mind for weeks and will not leave. anyways! the written text are direct quotes from this video (which is basically my omegon voice claim)
Also did it just fall off or was Omegon finally able to rip it off because both would also be horrifying and cause a lot of problems for our poor robot catboy
[id: two images. the first is an anonymous tumblr ask that reads "can you draw nonbinary omegon? please, you don't have to though it's totally up to you". the first sentence is in all caps. the second image is a digital cartoon-y drawing of Omegon from Poptropica. Omegon is looking at the viewer and instead of their normal cape, the inside is of the nonbinary flag/end id]
diversity win! the weird robot guy who is trying to take over poptropicon is nonbinary!
Maybe talking about something else will make you feel better?
You know what? You're right. How about this:
Something much more wholesome and less awful. How about...
Director D is at the villain hangout spot. It's Pet Day, so the villains who have pets and animal companions have brought them in.
The Baron brings her monkey Ack
Binary Bard brings his cyborg owl Merlin
Ringmaster Raven brings his raven
Captain Crawfish brings his squid
El Mustachio Grande brings his horse
Myron Van Buren brings his guard dog Gmork
Omegon brings Meow-Bot
Black Widow brings her... hamster.
And Dr. Hare has an army of rabbits running around.
Director D begins to feel left out. He's never had a thing for pets, or animals in general. He's always thought they were nasty, unpredictable, and hard to clean up after. And this is coming from a man who loves to clean things. (He's a bit of a neak freak.)
But Director D, not wanting to be the odd villain out, and yet simultaneously wanting to be the best in the room, decides to go get his own pet.
He travels to the pet store and looks over the many different animals.
For starters, he doesn't want an animal that sheds, whether it be fur, feathers, skin, whatever. But what would that leave him then? A hairless cat or dog? An amphibian?
Well, anyway, I can't continue the story right now because I ran out of ideas. But I do feel better. This was a nice idea :)
So I decided that he has something to do with The Code because why not. The context The Code is what's underneath The Nexus which was opened up at Mocktropica, and that there have been people who have gone missing because of it (mainly adventurers who went too far down or civilians who fell in/went in on a dare or something) and rarely those people do come back, but wrong. (I was inspired by Omegamart, with the eye lemon and the glitchy milk) There is only one (1) known case of someone actually coming back alive and that was Sebastian Andrews, a crew member of the M.A.F team that was working on the next movie. But to be fair he doesn't count, a month after they were found he went missing again and no one's seen them since.
