was contacted by kirby and yan said that yan would prefer that any alt spelling of the arisso- prefix not be used, so the old poll has been deleted, and a new one will be started in it's place without the alt spelling. If the old poll could be deleted, that would be greatly appreciated. Very sorry for the inconvenience.

Out of the suggested replacement prefixes, which do you prefer?

This poll is being run to try to help the community as a group decide which prefix should become the new prefix to replace "Arisso-", as many suggestions have been given, and several have expressed confusion over the multiple prefixes both used and proposed at this point in time, and both the coiner and many in the community wanting to term to be rejoined under one prefix. All the options listed have been proposed as a replacement (Which can be found under the tag "Alternative name" on this blog).

I’m sorry to tell u guys this but if the poll was ‘Dndads TUMBLR sexyman’ I would’ve voted for scam. He’s the tumblr sexyman. But it’s JUST dndads sexyman and THAT is why Glenn wins- because his impact on this fandom, specifically with his sex appeal (with things such as hot Glenn summer) is why he will eternally be the most relevant, most qualified dndads sexyman.

🛠 Fixed

Posting to Tumblr from IFTTT was being rate limited more than usual lately, causing some actions to fail, but we’ve fixed the issue.

We’re fixing lots of small visual issues with Tumblr Patio, for those who are helping us test it out.

On Android, a small number of users were unable to access their messages on app version 32.9. This issue is now fixed in 33.0.

We’ve rolled out the fix to issue in the iOS app that was preventing folks from editing draft posts.

🚧 Ongoing

We attempted to fix the pesky bug that could cause the asks/submissions inbox to show an unread count of 1 or more when nothing was actually in there. This is usually caused by someone sending an ask, and then being suspended for some reason, or blocking, which all prevent the actual ask from being seen. We accidentally made this worse for some people, showing an even higher unread count when nothing was there. While we fixed that botched attempt at a fix, we’re still working to make the situation better overall.

Hello! Hope you are well.

I was just wondering, if you're video on the super Mario series had come out after Wonder had come out, do you think people would consider it as unambiguously a part of the series as The first game/ bros 3/ world?

Because the argument against the 3D games was that they're a separate thing because they're 3D. And the argument against the New Soup games was that the 'new' prefix made them a distinct series.

But you couldn't apply either of those arguments to Wonder, so wouldn't that make it's inclusion pretty unambiguous?

so I just did a poll about this because I think it's really interesting, my instinct is that this one is unambiguously a mainline super mario game, but I have seen some people suggest that it isn't! some people (though from what I can tell not a statistically significant amount, more comparable to the "nsmb2 is mainline but not nsmbds" crowd) consider 3d mario to be the current "main line", which until now has been a stance indistinguishable from considering new super mario bros games to be a separate series. I'd definitely be interested in running another proper full-sized poll asking people their thoughts on the whole series after the current wave of big mario releases is done releasing, just to see exactly how clear it is compared to other games

as of week two, the formula has shifted slightly- losers of week one are given one second chance and will face against each other until week 5, where the #1 of both brackets, an overt winner and an underdog, will face off on week 6.

Donald Duck Is Among The Strongest Mages in the Final Fantasy Universe (Who Rivals the Divine)

I am, perhaps, the least qualified person for this task, but I love mentioning it and @ancestorlegacy said this should've been an option in my poll for KH topics to explain to my friends who nothing about it, and I just couldn't resist.

I have no idea how long whichever post I'll write when the poll is over will be, so writing this in advance means I'll still be able to post a Kingdom Hearts infodump on April 1st like I wanted to.

(After writing this, it's getting a little long, so if you don't want to read the whole thing, I'll put a TL;DR at the end of the post.)

Donald has a tendency to die quickly, misuse magic by hitting enemies with their elemental affinities (causing them to be healed), and often doesn't heal Sora when most needed.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR - Kingdom Hearts III, Bravely Default, Final Fantasy XVI, as well as some non-story spoilers for Kingdom Hearts I & II

The beginning of this story is immensely funny. Remember how the title of this post says that Donald Duck is an incredibly strong mage? That tends not to be the case for most of the series.

Whether he is or isn't powerful, he is highly unreliable. He has, however, been known to throw a good Flare spell in his time.

Allow me to introduce Flare Force, a Limit in Kingdom Hearts II and a Situation Command in Kingdom Hearts III.

This whole maneuver is called "Flare Force", but Donald's firework-summoning spells themselves are known as "Duck Flare", "Rocket Flare", and "Megaduck Flare", respectively.

With that "Mega-", now seems like a good time to explain the various Flare Spells for context.

In the Final Fantasy franchise, Flare is a high-level magic spell. One of the "ultimate" Black Mage spells, in fact. It's often non-elemental magic, but is also the final form in the line of Fire magic in others.

I'll refrain from discussing all of the different offshoots of Flare, and just discuss the relevant upgraded forms.

Still with me? Great.

Higher forms of Flare tend to be given metric prefixes:

- Nanoflare = one-billionth (10^-9)

- Megaflare = one million (10^6)

- Gigaflare = one billion (10^9)

- Teraflare = one trillion (10^12)

- Exaflare = one quintillion (10^18)

- Zettaflare = one sextillion (10^21)

Now, setting aside the discussion of how these firework Flare spells compare to Flare and Megaflare, we can now get to what you've all been waiting for: Donald Duck vaporizing a final boss-level opponent with some of the highest grade Black Magic in the FF Universe!

Golly, wasn't that amazing? Now, we can FINALLY get into why this scene makes Donald one of the strongest mages ever.

Recall how I said that Flare is an "ultimate" Black Magic spell. Donald cast a spell equivalent to ONE SEXTILLION of an endgame offensive spell.

I mean, he appears to have either passed out for exertion or straight-up died from the effort of casting it, but that's not important. Why? Because now I can finally explain what the last part of the title of this post means.

While Donald now shares the title of strongest mage with two others to date, there is one difference: he's just a mage.

First up: Airy the Fairy.

She was a companion-turned-major antagonist in Bravely Default. While her master plan involved successfully destroying dimensions, this wasn't a direct result of her own power. Furthermore, she was a servant of the God of Destruction, Ouroboros, and was being powered-up and supported by the god during the fight in which she uses Zettaflare. Therefore, I do not believe that she can be compared to Donald's sheer might.

No, the only true comparison is to the one who is so strongly associated with Megaflare and its associated variations: Bahamut.

In case you hadn't heard, Final Fantasy XIV's original launch was so bad that they destroyed the setting of the game in canon. Bahamut's Teraflare was the cause.

Bahamut obliterated an entire continent with one spell, and Donald's spell was many, many orders of magnitude higher.

Fast forward to Final Fantasy XVI, however, and it seems that the legendary King of Dragons may have finally become a match for our feathered Flare-casting friend!

... Or maybe not. See, I haven't played Final Fantasy XIV. In fact, the only games mentioned in this post that I have played is the main one the post is about, the Kingdom Hearts series.

I'm a little hazy on the details because of that, so forgive me if I have gotten anything wrong, but Bahamut's Zettaflare failed. I mean, Airy's clearly did too since she was defeated by the protagonists of the game she was in, but Bahamut is THE Megaflare guy. Gigaflare, Teraflare, Exaflare, all used by Bahamut or some version of Bahamut.

TL;DR - Despite being typically unreliable, Donald Duck successfully vaporized a major foe with the absurdly high-level Zettaflare spell. Airy (a fairy backed by a God of Destruction) from Bravely Default and Bahamut (A massively powerful and legendary dragon who is a staple of the FF series) from Final Fantasy XVI have also used Zettaflare, but to much less effectiveness compared to the mortal duck mage.

I'd like to submit a gentle request as an asian BPD haver to please reconsider 'yanno' as a prefix. I know it comes from someone who reclaims yandere, but I am not comfortable, as someone who's culture AND mental illness are both targeted by the 'yandere' trope, for people who cannot reclaim it to use 'yan' as a suffix for an umbrella term.

While I am unsure if this is targeted at me specifically, this ask will still be posted for others to consider.

This archive isn't the one that came up with said prefix, and due to the nature of tumblr polls the option can't be removed and being a few days into the poll, it would feel unfair to those that might not be able to vote again to restart the poll for a 2nd time. The archive will note though that currently yanno- is currently in third at 17.9% (17 votes), with the currently winning option (disso-) being at 27.4% (26 votes). Shongololo (siSwati)

Translation: Millipede

siSwati is an Atlantic-Congo language belonging to the Bantu branch, which covers most of sub-Saharan Africa. It is spoken by 960 000 people in Eswatini, where it is the national language, but by 4,7 million people in total, half of whom speak it as a second language. Most of them live in South Africa. The prefix si- in siSwati indicates the noun class, shortly explained as a gender system but with more (up to 20) classes, less arbitrary categorization and different but paired classes for singular and plural. From what I’ve found, si- is the prefix for class 7, indicating body parts or pairs in siSwati. From what I remember from a lecture, some Bantu languages use the same class to signify languages, which gives related names such as isiZulu and kinyaRwanda.

Motivation: I love how it feels when saying it! It also manages to seem both long and round, just like the animal itself. <3

Note: I found evidence of shongololo being used in siSwati, but the IPA transcription is taken from Zulu (ishongololo, in which the i- signifies noun class), which is closely related to siSwati. I thought it should have the prefix in- for objects and animals but couldn’t find evidence of that word ever being used, so probably not. Someone who knows siSwati, please tell me how it all works.

French is an Indo-European language belonging to the Romance branch originating in France, where it has 64 million speakers and is the national language. However, due to colonialism and historical popularity in Europe (language spread due to cultural, scientific and philosophical dominance and stayed an important lingua franca), French has almost 310 million speakers worldwide, although only 80 million speak it as their first language.

Motivation: Because it has 7 letters, every vowel except for y, and it’s still somehow only two syllables and pronounced wah-zoh.

Enigma: literally means “something[/someone] that is mysterious and seems impossible to understand completely”. i think this is very cool, and it feels similar to how Omen is the man/woman equivalent for kenochoric.

Divinity: fits the definition of spiritine very well, especially the religiogender aspect of it. i am unsure if this would make certain groups uncomfortable though.

Spiiran: combination of the main prefix for spiritine genders, and man/woman. i’m not sure how keen i am on this one myself, but people on discord seemed to like it a lot. fits well with other similar terms, but has ties to binary genders - perhaps this could be a term for someone who is both spiritine and a binary gender?

i don’t really want to use the term spir, which has been suggested by a few people. i see this more as a shortened terms of spiritine similar to masc/fem. i don’t really want to use any other words similar to divinity (god, deity, etc) as it just doesn’t work for me. the word spirit just feels lazy to me lol. however, i am very open to other suggestions!!
