essay bc u asked for it. It’s short though.

To a simple, 14 year old girl like me, Barbie is one of the most inspirational women ever. She has so many jobs. She’s doesn’t have to cook, clean, or any other of the ‘stereotypical female things’. There have been many Barbie movies since her creation. The Princess and The Popstar is arguably the best one. In this essay, I shall explain why it shouldn’t be arguable.

First, we get to see Princess Tori’s ‘perfect’ life. She has a castle, everyone is nice to her, it all seems perfect. But even the most perfect lives can grow boring. This is Tori’s case. She does the same things everyday. She just wants something new. Then we see the Popstar, Kiera’s life. For her, her life is interesting. But it’s the same kind of interesting. It’s boring.

The two of them are different in every way. On one hand, Princess Tori of Meribella has a perfectly boring life. On the other, Kiera has an interestingly boring life. Both of them want something new. So, they swap identities. You can see how both of them, completely different people, have to work together to save Meribella. And I think that’s beautiful. I conclude this essay with a statement: Put yourself out there, explore heights and lows, and maybe, you’ll find the life for you. Thank you.

(not to mention that it IS a more modern twist on the classic tale, making it both relevant to modern times and also paying homage to old stories)

I wonder how Kiera broke it to Tori that the purple hair was a wig, and if learning that broke Tori's worldview at all. Bc tori listed the purple hair right off the bat as something she loves about Kiera, and I don't think the magic hairbrush would make Rockin Rebellious look #53 a wig.
