behold! a celestia redesign at last! my inconsistent style makes it so that she doesn't match luna's ref very well but i DONT CARE (thats a lie i do care but only a little bit).

notes about her design:

she BEEG. this goes for luna too, but i like the idea that they both started out as earth ponies, so they (tia especially) are way bigger and bulkier than other alicorns.

yellow, orange, and sky blue palette to compliment luna's purple, dark blue, and teal!

in the same vein, the alt eye in the top right corner (maybe her actual eye, maybe just what happens when she raises the sun or something, idk) compliment's luna's, as well-- a sun against a bright blue sky, and a moon against a starry night sky.

the fire to her sister's water; the blue in her palette represents both the blue sky, as it is when she rules it, and the blue of pure/"clean" fire as it balances the orange/red/yellow of wild/"dirty" fire. (this also plays a lot into her corrupted form as daybreaker, as celestia constantly fears losing control to the anger inside her as luna did: the pure, controlled fire being overrun by the wild, uncontrolled fire; gentle blue being snuffed out by burning orange-- you get the idea.)

princess celestia + her younger design :)

i love the idea that using the elements changed her hair into something closer to an aurora. i know a lot of people like to make her more sun based but i think they’re forgetting that when luna was sent away she would’ve been responsible for EVERYTHING. she is literally light itself . so i love her hair as is :)

My redesigns of the princesses minus Twilight lol. This was traced over a coloring page of the princesses but with my own flare!

I'm really happy with how they turned out! Celestia actually took the longest to redesign cuz I was struggling with her hair color. I really wanted to capture the "mother nature"-ness with the greens. Blue and gold is literally designed for Luna! Also she gotta have bat features cuz its cool😤And for Cadance I went for more warmer pinks while still keeping her recognizable. Look at the hearts in her horn!! 🥺🥺 Anyways hope yall enjoy these redesigns :D

Her face and body is based on the kladruber breed. I love their strong faces and bodies, I thought it would lend her a sense of elegance and power

Scrapped the pink color scheme for one that makes more sense for ruler of the sun! Blues and reds to match the color of flames

Curved horn bc it looks ethereal and different

Imagine the flame details in her hair is always slowly moving and undulating

Her 'crown' is points of magical flames that come off of her horn.

Overall I wanted her to look alien and ethereal, separated from the rest of the ponies and drastically different looking from them
