Je vous aime de l'amour de Jésus-Christ ❤⚘️

Jésus demande souvent aux malades qu'il guérit et à ses disciples de ne rien dire de ses miracles ni de son identité. Pour quelle raison ?

Neuf fois au cours de l'évangile de Marc, Jésus impose le silence à ceux qui proclament son identité ou s'émerveillent devant ses miracles. Mais certains lui désobéissent et répandent la nouvelle des guérisons obtenues. Aussi, la renommée de Jésus grandit . Quelle est la raison de garder le silence, alors que Jésus lui-même affirme que :

{Marc 4:22}

" rien n'a été caché qui ne doive venir au grand jour "

Ces demandes de silence concernent d'abord les démons , puis les personnes guéries ou leur entourage , enfin les disciples . Les demandes de se taire adressées aux esprits impurs (ou démons) soulignent la question de l'identité de Jésus ; après les guérisons, elles indiquent son refus d'associer son identité à son pouvoir de guérisseur. Enfin, le silence qu'il demande aux disciples a pour but de les aider à comprendre sa réelle identité.

JÉSUS NE GUÉRIT PAS POUR ATTIRER LES FOULES

Les premières demandes s'adressent aux démons qui voudraient que les foules acclament Jésus et le poussent vers un messianisme triomphant qui l'empêcherait d'aller au bout de sa mission. L'esprit impur qui lui dit : " Je sais qui tu es : le Saint de Dieu ", Jésus répond : " Tais-toi et sors de cet homme. "

Les demandes suivantes concernant les guérisons montrent la volonté répétée de Jésus de fuir la publicité et l'attirance des foules qui lui désobéissent et accourent vers lui.

Au lépreux qu'il vient de guérir, Jésus dit : " Garde-toi de rien dire à personne, mais va te montrer au prêtre ". Malheureusement, le lépreux néglige de tenir sa langue, au point que Jésus est obligé de se cacher à l'extérieur des villes.

Aux parents de la jeune fille qu'il a relevée (" Talitha qoum ") alors qu'on la croyait morte, il fait "de vives recommandations pour que personne ne le sache "…

La répétition de ce scénario souligne deux points. La discrétion est une des caractéristiques de son identité. Et la demande au silence donne en partie le sens des miracles : Jésus ne les accomplit pas pour attirer les foules, mais pour manifester la Bonne Nouvelle, la puissance de Dieu qui vient au secours de notre humanité, de même que Jésus chasse les démons, pardonne les péchés, vient au secours du manque de foi de ses interlocuteurs.

Aujourd'hui les foules sont attirée par les miracles ou les prophéties comme pour une voyance. Je pense que ces dons que Dieu nous a donné ne doivent pas devenir un spéctacle qui attire les foules. Dieu veux que les gens le connaissent lui le seul vrai Dieu , ainsi que Jésus-Christ.

Jésus-Christ nous donne un seul miracles pour que les gens puisse se convertir. C'est son sacrifice sur la Croix et sa réssurection. Jésus-Christ dit aussi : " pas tout ceux qui disent Seigneur Seigneur, n'hériteront pas le Royaume de Dieu. " Même si ceux-ci ont prophétisés , ont chassé des démons... pas tous n'entreront dans le Royaume de Dieu. Car notre identité doit être en Christ, et le connaître.

Some fun facts for The Old Guard/Kaysanova

1. The Arabic word for tangerine is Yousefi | يوسفي .

According to my nana, it was named after the man called Youssef Afandi who who imported it from Italy during the reign of Muhammed Ali Pasha in Egypt. Make with that what you will.

2. Joe is not an uncommon nickname for men called Yusuf/Youssef, especially those who live abroad and/or come from bilingual families. I’ve known at least five Youssef/Yusufs - including my cousin - who answer to Joe. So, it’s not unusual or disrespectful to call him that in fics/discussion.

3. The Arabic version of Nicolo is Nicola | نقولا‎ .

4. Joe being from either Tunisia or Egypt makes him a North African. There has been a movement to make a distinction and reclaim ethnic identity, giving rise to the acronym MENA (Middle Eastern North African) as opposed to inaccurately calling everyone Arabs.

You can count North Africans as part of the ‘Arab World’ in the sense that they speak a dialect of Arabic. If he is Tunisian in your story then he is specifically a Maghrebi/Maghrebien. He’ll be more inclined to that identity because during the Crusades all of Northwest Africa was simply called the Maghreb.

PS. Maghreb means ‘the sunset, coming from the word gharb meaning ‘west’ i.e. the sun setting in the west.

5. In the time period in which they met, Nicky won’t think of him as ‘an Arab’ of any kind, but as a Moor. Joe will think of him as a Frank/Afranji.

6. If you are writing a Modern AU then a Maghrebi Joe will be fluent in French, if he’s Egyptian chances are he also had to learn French.

7. Medieval Muslims frequently drank wine (let’s be honest a lot of modern ones do as well, but to avoid public scrutiny it’s either done abroad or in private or you have to be wealthy to get away with it), there is a library’s worth of poetry of them referencing how much they love it. Being gay can get you ostracized, committed, jailed or killed or all of the above in most Muslim majority countries. So, if you’re going to showcase this, please take it seriously. This is something I and a lot of friends had to grapple with, and most of us have left Islam with irreparable damage/trauma, so it’d be interesting to see our experience represented with Joe, since it’s often either ignored, or just about Nicky’s Catholic guilt.

12. To follow-up on my previous point, in the Middle Ages, people usually turned blind eyes to homoerotic poetry or homosexual activity, it was seen as avoiding ruining a woman’s honor/siring bastards and that they’d stop once they got married. Kind of like how it was in Ancient Greece, something you did in your youth and ‘grew out of’. They played fast and loose for a few centuries until governments started cracking down on people not abiding by religious law around the 19th Century.

However, that was assuming you had the safety-net of a rich family, a position in the court of someone important or powerful, or your own power. If you were a commoner and you got caught, you faced the consequences.

There is a fair-bit of homoerotic poetry, namely by Abu Nawas, you could reference. His stuff got censored and burned by the thousands for that...

Also, the Hanafi school of Islam says that, like wine and other haram things, they are permitted in death/in paradise. So you could argue that since Joe already died, he’s exempt from abiding by any religious law.

Last, it’d be interesting to see a fic use courtly love and how it evolved from around the First Crusade and traveled up into Europe, becoming a staple in medieval literature and how it originated from Andalusian Spain and Arabic poetry. It could tie into how flowery and incurably romantic Joe is.
