Note
not to be an olan + queen fan first (person second) but i don't think it's a stretch to say they would've hung out in similar places before the flash. hell, it's possible they would've run into each other. that little bit of familiarity--even if they never talked--could go a long way in terms of trust
there can only be so many bars in a place like pre-flash olathe

best female villain tournament!
SEASON 2
RULES:
- Only submit the same character once
- Multiple submissions with different characters are fine!
- Matchups will be posted as soon as I have enough submissions and will include the most submitted characters
-Resubmissions are fine as long as they weren’t on the tourney last time
- Please be as detailed as possible
I had issues on my end with some technicalities and media’s. eg a lot of characters from the hatchetfield musicals by team starkid were just submitted as hatchetfield which made it harder to search for them to identify them and get pictures etc. If those and similar fandoms could be submitted with what musical etc they’re from that would be great :)
Those who sent submissions through my askbox will be getting submitted by me unless it was off anon(because you’ll be getting a notification)
Cool people/awareness tags:

The Celestials’ Guardian Character List (MASTERPOST)
Alright, I’m cracking and I’m gonna make those profiles! Hopefully this will motivate me to finally finish the profiles for both the Einherjar series and the Attero Dominatus series, haha ^^
Now the character list for this is kinda similar to The Einherjar Files in that this is numbered in order of appearance in the story proper. And since this story is gonna be somewhat similar to BT Redux, it’s gonna be broken down into seasons—although this won’t be quite as long as BT Redux! And due to the flow of ideas, a lot more universes are showing up here. Looney Tunes was a given due to Warmonger’s appearance, but I’ve also decided to add Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Disney and even classic characters such as Popeye, Felix the Cat, Betty Boop and (possibly) Woody Woodpecker. Why? Because I wanted to. XD
Now these universes and a few of their elements (ie. The adventures of Scrooge and his family, the Martians’ conquering of the solar system from Duck Dodgers, and even the legend of the Sea Hag) will be present through the first few arcs. The characters will make their proper debut later down the line!
I’m still working on the technical aspects of the story which will show up in a separate post, but yes, I did rename this story from The Cerulean Avenger to The Celestials’ Guardian since while Huck is one of the main characters, I’ve always intended for Droopy to be the center character. And it sounds kinda cool ^^
If I reblog this, it means that A. I've linked the character's art/profile to this page, and B. I've added more characters/info. Just a heads up.
Oh, and for the asterisk (*), it means the character is deceased during the story itself.

Further along the dock was author Leslie Thomas with his wife Diane, no doubt contemplating future plot of his own.
Strolling along the boardwalk came an unusually domestic-looking Roger Taylor, drummer from Queen, with his girlfriend Debbie Leng and five-month-old son Rufus Tiger. "We've just bought our boat Adamus up from Cornwall," he told me.
Later, I spotted the happy trio buying a replica of their police-launch-like cruiser in an antique shop. "One for the bath, perhaps!" he jested.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes in Romeo + Juliet (Baz Luhrmann, 1996) Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Claire Danes, John Leguizamo, Harold Perrineau, Pete Postlethwaite, Paul Sorvino, Brian Dennehy, Paul Rudd, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Miriam Margolyes, M. Emmet Walsh, Diane Venora, Christina Pickles. Screenplay: Craig Pearce, Baz Luhrmann, based on a play by William Shakespeare. Cinematography: Donald McAlpine. Production design: Catherine Martin. Costume design: Kym Barrett. Roger Ebert hated it: "I have never seen anything remotely approaching the mess that this new punk version of Romeo & Juliet makes of Shakespeare's tragedy." But I kind of love it, and something tells me that Shakespeare would. After all, he wrote for a very mixed audience, ranging from people who admired lyric poetry to people who just wanted a little action, a little bawdry, and perhaps a good cry. Baz Luhrmann's version is Shakespeare for the multiplex. But Ebert makes a good point when he says "the movie lacks the nerve to cut entirely adrift from its literary roots." The problem with Romeo + Juliet (no, I don't know why the plus sign rather than "and" or ampersand) is Shakespeare: The text and the theatricality keep getting in the way of Luhrmann's cinematic impulses. He constantly has to work around the demands of Shakespeare's dialogue. Sometimes the workarounds are witty: I like the replacement of the prologue with a TV newscast, the change of the peacekeeping Prince Escalus to a cop called Capt. Prince (Vondie Curtis-Hall), even the placement of Paris (Paul Rudd) on the cover of Time as "Bachelor of the Year" -- though why wasn't he on People's cover as the "Sexiest Man Alive"? Even the change in weaponry is nicely handled: Obviously, contemporary gangbangers have to carry guns, and not the weapons specified in Shakespeare's dialogue, so instead of Colt and Glock, their guns have brand names like Sword, Dagger, and Rapier. There is also some wit in the performances: I particularly like the reimagining of Juliet's mother, whom Diane Venora plays as an aging trophy wife, not above doing a little flirting with Paris, her intended son-in-law. Harold Perrineau's portrayal of Mercutio as a drag queen also makes a good deal of sense, given the flamboyance of the character in the play. On the other hand, I don't know why we first see Pete Postlethwaite"s Father (not Friar) Laurence shirtless, delivering a botany lecture to some choir boys. Priestly pederasty was beginning to make headlines when the film was made, but a hint at Father Laurence's predilections doesn't seem relevant to his function in the story. On the whole, the film is best when it's full of action, drawing on the kind of energy that Luhrmann is known for, and it tends to sag in the love scenes. So maybe Romeo + Juliet is a mess, but it's an entertaining one -- and haven't we seen enough productions of the play that weren't?

some r/v au things kicking around in the brain (or in my art lmao)
V has a new wedding dress made that is heavily inspired by, though not an exact replica of, Josette’s dress, taking a mix of regency style and late 1960s/early 1970's (which are already in partnership in fashion). she borrows Naomi Collins' wedding veil, and Liz gives her a string of pearls that first belonged to Annabella Collins –– a symbol of the Collins prosperity born of the sea.
Wedding flowers: blue delphinium (dignity and grace, youth, new life, remembrance), calla lilies (magnificent beauty, rebirth or resurrection, the goddess Hera), lily of the valley (return to happiness: "The naiad-like lily of the vale. Whom youth makes so fair, and passion so pale" ) and blue jasmine (amiability, loyalty, integrity, trust, "On the blue flower which, Brahmins say. Blooms nowhere but in Paradise.")
" The jasmine, with which the queen of flowers, To charm her god, adorns his favourite bowers Which brides, by the plain hand of neatness drest, – Unenvied rival! – wear upon the breast; Sweet as the incense of the mom, and chaste As the pure zone which circles Dian's waist."
They're married out on the terrace but, predictably, rain interrupts them, and they have to rush inside to the drawing room to finish the ceremony. Roger cheats and carries her over the threshold before they're officially married.
They fly to France for their honeymoon, staying on the beaches of Biarritz in the Hôtel du Palais. They make several excursions to sightsee in the rest of the country, including a few days in Paris to see the Louvre and the Palais Garnier. V returns home with several paintings to add to Collinwood's collection, and Roger with several bottles of wine. Vicki also picks out an André Courrèges for Maggie, an Yves Saint Laurent for Carolyn and a Givenchy for Liz. for David, a lapel pin with a guillotine motif inspired by 1790s designs.
Rog's proposal is very Maxim-esque. It happens outside on the cliffs, not at breakfast itself, but right after. Since David is old enough to go to Real School, he no longer needs a tutor and governess, but Roger assures her she's still needed at Collinwood and she can stay on with him. ("Do you mean you want a secretary or something?" "No, I'm asking you to marry me, you little fool.")
They're generally supported (especially by Julia) when they announce the engagement, and Carolyn is delighted to have her as an official member of the family (though it takes some getting used to thinking of her as an aunt). Liz is highly skeptical and would try to talk Roger into calling it off; Vicki has to work hard to convince her that’s what she wants. the plus side is that he’d never do anything to hurt V because if he did Liz would flay him alive. not one single foot out of line.
Maggie would also be on Liz’s side, certain at first that the power disparity favors Roger and his happiness, but Vicki would eventually bring her around. Maggie, along with Willie and Joe, is probably one of the few who realizes or cares what it means for Vicki socially/economically to rise through the ranks and marry into the Collins money/power. most of them would view it as marrying Roger, but V’s fellow working class characters see it as marrying into the family, and Roger comes second.
The engagement lasts a while for legal reasons, though not for lack of Rog's trying to hurry their lawyers, since neither of their spouses can be served divorce papers (being yoinked back to the eighteenth century or being transformed into a vampire as your alternate identity don't count for much in court). they're able to get annulments on the basis of mental incapacity –– r.e. Rog's mental state when he married Cass, and the speed –– and fraud –– vis a vis Jeff's real identity. it's not pleasant, and involves lots of testifying about adultery in the courtyard, which leads to their first real fight.
Though he buys her a few things in France, his big wedding present is a car of her own to live in the Collins garage: a Triumph TR6 in Royal Blue with tan interior. Carolyn is allowed to drive it; Roger is not.

Trip to be? 💫
Tumblr media
Diana decides to tell about her friend Anita's invitation to a family dinner. Households react positively. Bridget is very inspired by the upcoming trip.
Tumblr media
Bridget starts asking her mom about the Radcliffe family. Diana reveals that she and Anita studied economics together at Foxbury University. Almost 16 years have passed since then. Every 2-3 years they went to visit each other.
Tumblr media
For a long time, Anita and her daughter Paddy lived together. But a year ago, Anita married Roger Radcliffe. He is a widower. He has a son, Pongo, who is a year older than Paddy. Diana had never met them before.
Tumblr media
Hank noted that he would be happy if Diana and Bridget had fun in Winderburg. He will not be able to leave due to work meetings.
Tumblr media
As Bridget goes to the gym to meditate, Hank calls Diane into the living room. He asks if everything will be all right with his wife. The train ride is long. He worries about her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Diana replies that she is very excited. She told Hank not to worry. It's still a week before the trip, and the weekend is ahead. The couple decide to go to a new restaurant that has opened in the creative district.
Tumblr media
Bridget retires for meditation. But she can't get rid of her various thoughts. The girl knew Paddy and Anita, they saw each other every three years. Those came to them in San Myshuno. Now she and her mother will go to Winderburg, where Bridget has never been before. This is an ancient city where the king and queen used to live. According to legend, you can meet a prince there…

The band Archers of Loaf have a new album for the first time in more than 20 years. In the not-so-new category, we’ll hear Frank Zappa, Material Issue, Queen, Deerhunter, In Deed, and the Midnight Callers. We’ll start by paying tribute to someone we just lost. His name is Wilko Johnson, and if the name isn’t familiar, I can pretty much guarantee that you know music by artists he influenced. He’s perhaps most associated with a British pub rock group from the 70s, Dr. Feelgood. They did a lot of covers of American Blues and R&B, kind of like groups like The Stones and The Pretty Things did about a decade before. Wilko Johnson played with folks like Ian Dury and had he had a prolific solo career. Guitarists were inspired and admired his unique style and showmanship. So if he’s new to you, he was a great rocker! All this and more on Tuesday afternoon starting at 2 on Bombshellradio.com! 10th June Platinum Jubilee Celebration Party
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, some 40 odd members, carers and families turned up at the Golf Road Community Centre to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and didn’t they have an excellent time with everything possible laid on by  the organising team of Roger, Diane, Louise and Andy, with some of the items of food being prepared w3ell into the night, especially those sausage rolls made by Roger and some managed to fid their way into quite a few doggy bags. Food first, with extra delicious sandwiches, washed down with copious amounts of apple, orange and lemon juice, followed by a selection of cakes and biscuits with tea and coffee and the loyal toast, naval style, taken whilst seated. A word search puzzle, a picture quiz and a 30 question quiz, all related to her majesty’s 70 years reign.
Finally a word of praise for all the hard work and effort put in by the two families and a strange raffle without any tickets or money changing hands.
So a very big Well Done and thank you for an excellent day
