Embrace the Spirit of Giving: Muslim Charity's Ramadan Appeal
Tumblr media
As the blessed month of Ramadan approaches, Muslims around the world eagerly anticipate a time of reflection, prayer, and most importantly, giving back to those in need. Ramadan is not only a period of fasting from dawn till dusk but also a time to strengthen bonds within communities and extend a helping hand to those less fortunate. At Muslim Charity, we are dedicated to embodying the true essence of Ramadan by launching our annual Ramadan Appeal, inviting you to join us in making a difference.
The Significance of Ramadan Giving:
Ramadan holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide. It is a time of spiritual growth, self-discipline, and empathy towards others. The act of giving, known as Zakat, is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and holds immense significance during this holy month. Muslims are encouraged to donate a portion of their wealth to those in need, fostering a sense of compassion and solidarity within the community.
Our Ramadan Appeal: Making an Impact Together:
At Muslim Charity, our Ramadan Appeal serves as an opportunity for individuals to contribute to meaningful causes and make a positive impact on the lives of others. Through our diverse range of projects and initiatives, we aim to address pressing issues such as poverty, hunger, education, and healthcare, both locally and globally.
1. Providing Food Security
During Ramadan, the importance of food becomes even more pronounced as fasting individuals eagerly await the breaking of their fast at sunset. However, millions around the world struggle with food insecurity every day. Through our Ramadan Appeal, we endeavor to provide nutritious meals to families in need, ensuring that they can experience the joy of sharing a meal together during this blessed month.
2. Supporting Education
Education is a fundamental right that empowers individuals and transforms communities. Yet, many children around the world are deprived of this basic necessity. Through our Ramadan Appeal, we support educational initiatives that provide underprivileged children with access to quality schooling, textbooks, and educational resources, paving the way for a brighter future.
3. Empowering Communities
At Muslim Charity, we believe in the importance of empowering communities to become self-sufficient and resilient. Through our Ramadan Appeal, we fund projects that promote sustainable livelihoods, vocational training, and entrepreneurship opportunities, enabling individuals to break the cycle of poverty and build a better life for themselves and their families.
How You Can Make a Difference:
Your support is vital in helping us achieve our Ramadan Appeal goals and uplift communities in need. There are several ways you can get involved and contribute to our cause:
1. Make a Donation: Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a difference. Your generosity can provide food, education, healthcare, and hope to those who need it most.

3. Volunteer: Get involved in our volunteer programs and lend your time and skills to support our projects on the ground. Whether it's organizing fundraising events or participating in community outreach activities, your contribution can create meaningful change.

What Are the Benefits of Giving Charity During Ramadan?
Tumblr media
Ramadan is one of the most sacred months of the Islamic calendar. It comes to us as a mercy, and an opportunity to move closer to Allah (swt), to have our sins forgiven and to reap rewards and blessings. Ramadan is full of reward, and the reward of any good deed we perform is multiplied manifold. Charity is considered a beautiful, highly rewarded and important act all year round, and was hugely advocated by Prophet Muhammad (saw), who was extremely generous and advocated for those less fortunate. Giving charity all year is a highly rewarded act, but in Ramadan, it is even more sacred.
Anas narrated that:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) was asked which fast was most virtuous after Ramadan? He said: “Sha’ban in honour of Ramadan“. He was then asked: “Which charity is best?” He (saw) said: “Charity in Ramadan.“
Due to the sacredness of Ramadan, many people choose to pay their Zakat in this month, or just before so it can be distributed during the holy month. This is in hopes of receiving even more rewards and blessings for doing so. Ramadan is also ended with an obligatory giving of charity called Zakat-al-Fitr, or Fitrana, which is a small, fixed donation of approximately £5. This must be given by, or on behalf of, each member of every household to the poor ahead of Eid prayers. Zakat-al-Fitr is a way of helping to bring people together, and to ensure that no one is left behind during the celebrations of Eid.
The meaning of Ramadan
In the holy Qur’an, Allah (swt) tells us that:
“O’ you who have Faith! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may gain taqwah.” [2:183]
Allah (swt) tells us that the core aim of Ramadan is to establish taqwah – God consciousness. In this way, we are encouraged to try to understand and know Allah (swt), to strengthen in our faith and to improve our relationship with Him (swt). One way to do so, is to understand and do those things that Allah loves, one of which is giving in charity.
You can donate by visiting our Ramadan Donation Appeal 2024 page.
Why charity is so important
In Ramadan, there are many ways to seek forgiveness and reap rewards including reading the holy Qur’an, performing additional prayers, making duaa, performing dhikr and volunteering in one’s local community. Giving in charity is a phenomenal way to connect with the ummah at large, and to make a huge difference in the lives of those most vulnerable. It helps us remember how connected our world is, and that we are all the ummah of Prophet Muhammad (saw).
While giving in charity itself is a hugely rewardable act, it is important to remember that it has a huge impact on those who receive it. Giving charity literally saves lives and can transform entire communities. This also means that beautiful reward lies both in the act of giving charity by giving from your own wealth to others, and in the impact you can create.
Allah (swt) tells us:
“And whoever saves a life it is as though he had saved the lives of all of humanity.” (5:32)
Providing clean water, food, shelter, education or livelihood opportunities to those in need goes so far in tackling poverty, and easing suffering, and that’s why our Ramadan Donation Appeal 2024 includes a whole host of life-changing projects you can get involved with.

"Most of Sudan is only one step away from a full blown famine. In a lot of areas the only thing stopping people starving is the presence of community kitchens. This is why we setup 3 kitchens in Khartoum State and are in the process of setting up a 4th. But there has been a massive drop off in donations after Ramadan. Please help with what you can.

*Read it and spread it, please!*
Assalamualykum
This is the official
Statement from a commander in Gaza
*Important message from Commander Abu Obeidah from Gaza*
May Allah's peace, blessings, and blessings be upon you
*I am speaking to you from Gaza*. From the same Gaza which is invincible, life-saving, steadfast, a metaphor for patience and steadfastness, a special reward of Allah, upon whom the peace of Allah is descending. Is.
*We are conveying this message to all Muslims*
We don't know whether sooner or later we will be around to deliver the message. So let's start our conversation with a prayer to Allah that Allah will make these words of ours a proof in our favor. Do not let them testify against us. Amen
This is the first message
*We want to tell all Muslims that we only worship Allah. We are satisfied with the *decision* of our Lord. We are not disappointed at all with the help of our Lord.
We believe in our Lord's help coming soon and help coming from a place where we don't expect it. Where we didn't even think about it.
* Do you think that you will enter Paradise, and why do you have the example of those who left before you? (214)
Do you think that you will enter Paradise even though you have not yet experienced the same condition as the previous people? Hardship and severity reached them, and they were shaken violently until the Messenger and those who believed with him said: When will the help of Allah come? listen! Surely Allah's help is near.
*By Allah! We have been shaken with such severity and intensity that our souls have been shaken to the core.* But we are not at all disappointed in the mercy of our Lord. We consider those who have gone to their Lord as martyrs.
And those who are left hope for victory, and this is not difficult for Allah.
The second message is that
*Whoever is listening to us, he can help us..with his prayers..with his supplications. Do not take his power lightly.* If you do not have the power to do anything about us, then this excuse of yours before Allah will save you from his reckoning. But you can still pray. Take your children and your families and sit and pray for us. *Cry for us sincerely in prayers, prostrations*. We desperately need your prayers.
Our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "When in pain, stretch out your hands before Allah and pray with firm faith and a focused heart. Such a prayer will surely be answered." God willing
The third message is this
* Those Muslims who are listening to this video (reading the message) should make our messages known to others.
Because there are still people who are sleeping under the blanket of negligence as if they have not received any news about our situation.
Perhaps they are waiting for the arrival of the Ababils ( *birds with clay like pebbles in their beaks*)who were sent to destroy the Companions of the *Feel (elephant*)
There is no power except Allah.
* Spread our message. Spread our news. Show our children's pictures to others*.
There are piles of rubble everywhere. Gaza is no longer safe to live in.
* We have never seen such a severe disaster before. * Our people, our brothers, our loved ones. Now, they have been written among the martyrs. 40, some 50, some 100 people from each family were among the dead. and those who are left are waiting for a good return to their Lord.
In this situation, we hope that you will have an excuse worthy enough to redeem your life on the Day of Judgment.
*Allah will surely ask what you did when this hour of trouble came upon the Muslims*
Can prayers also be restricted?
Or is there a limit to these prayers?
* Demonstrations for us on your streets. Going out in protest. Calling your people for us. Raising your voice for us. May these efforts become an acceptable excuse in your favor.
I praise Allah.
This trial is a precursor to other trials, and as a result of all of them, we are candidates for reward in the hereafter.
This dark night of usurper rule has been long and intense. Now, the bright morning is about to shine from the darkness of this oppression.
*Allah has promised His help to His servants.*
I swear that our best souls are drinking martyrdom in these circumstances. The best person in every family has been martyred. All these testimonies are for the glory of the Lord of the universe. All these testimonies. Verily, all praises, all thanks are due to the Lord of all the worlds.
I don't want to make my point too long. *I just came to say that I love you all for the sake of Allah.*
*Please make this message of ours public.*
Be our voice.
Our blood is staining the earth.
We request you to vigorously campaign for it. So fight hard to do your part.
*O Allah Keep us steadfast*
*Make us strong*
*Write a good ending for us!*
*Palestine Commander Abu Obeidah*

Join Our Ramadan Donation Appeal: Make a Difference in 2024
As the blessed month of Ramadan approaches, Muslims around the world eagerly await its arrival. Not only is Ramadan a time of spiritual reflection and self-discipline, but it is also a month marked by generosity, compassion, and giving back to the community. This year, as we prepare to observe Ramadan in 2024, we are launching a special Ramadan Donation Appeal, inviting you to join us in making a difference through your contributions and volunteering efforts. Why Ramadan Is Important: Ramadan holds immense significance in the Islamic faith, serving as a time of fasting, prayer, and increased devotion to Allah. It is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and commemorates the revelation of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, refraining from food, drink, and other physical needs as a means of purification and spiritual growth. Beyond fasting, Ramadan is a time for self-reflection, increased acts of worship, and strengthening one's relationship with Allah. It is a period for seeking forgiveness, practicing patience and gratitude, and fostering empathy for those less fortunate. The virtues of generosity and charity are especially emphasized during Ramadan, as Muslims are encouraged to give back to their communities and support those in need. Ramadan Charity: Charity, or "Sadaqah," is an integral part of Ramadan, reflecting the spirit of compassion and solidarity with the less fortunate. Muslims are encouraged to give generously to various causes, including feeding the hungry, providing assistance to orphans and widows, supporting education initiatives, and aiding those affected by poverty, conflict, or natural disasters. Ramadan charity extends beyond monetary donations; it also encompasses volunteering time and effort to serve others and contribute to the well-being of the community. Whether through organizing food drives, volunteering at local shelters, or participating in community service projects, every act of kindness and compassion during Ramadan holds immense value. Ramadan Donation Appeal: As we embark on the journey of Ramadan in 2024, we invite you to join our Ramadan Donation Appeal and be a source of hope and assistance for those in need. Your contributions, whether big or small, can make a profound difference in the lives of individuals and families facing hardship and adversity. Through your generous donations, we aim to provide essential support to marginalized communities, alleviate hunger and poverty, and empower individuals to build brighter futures for themselves and their loved ones. Your contributions will enable us to distribute food packages, offer financial assistance, provide access to education and healthcare, and implement sustainable development projects that uplift communities and foster resilience. Furthermore, we encourage you to actively engage in Ramadan volunteering opportunities, whether by participating in organized initiatives or initiating projects within your local community. By volunteering your time and skills, you can directly impact the lives of those in need, embodying the spirit of compassion and service that defines Ramadan. Conclusion: As we prepare to observe Ramadan in 2024, let us remember the true essence of this blessed month – a time of reflection, worship, and giving. Through our Ramadan Donation Appeal and volunteering efforts, we have the opportunity to embody the values of compassion, generosity, and solidarity with those less fortunate. Together, let us make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and spread the blessings of Ramadan far and wide. Join us in this noble endeavor, and may Allah accept our efforts and shower His mercy and blessings upon us all.

Idk, this day has been emotionally draining, the imminent invasion of Rafah while Ramadan is beginning at any moment has me at unease, this is the least I've wanted to fast and partake in Ramadan. It certainly didn't help trying to appeal to the yanks either, what a foolish waste of time.

Man, the Russia/Ukraine war has led to a lot of terrible takes from far leftists. I have a mutual from Brazil, a self identified socialist, who is convinced that Ukraine is full of nazis. While they don't support Russia, they questioned why they have to be "pro-Ukraine" or "pro-Russia". They call Ukraine a "nazi hole" but call Russia merely "fascist". Am I wrong in thinking that they've been influenced by Russian propaganda? I know Ukraine does have a nazi/far right problem, but so does the US? And most European countries? idk they strongly hate the US/US government too, and it seems to create some kind of brainrot. at least they don't blindly support China or Russia like tankies do (nor identify with them), but it's still frustrating to take a neutral position on a pretty black and white situation.
I don't want to confront them 1) cause I'm not the type to argue over serious things like this and this may break our long friendship and 2) I'm not super educated on the nazi situation in Ukraine.
Anyway thank you for letting me rant in your inbox.
Yes, Russia has specifically focused its propaganda efforts on Latin America, Africa, and other regions that HAVE suffered from Western/European/American imperialism and are thus predisposed to take the worst view of them/believe that this situation is their fault somehow. This is similar to what the USSR did in newly postcolonial Africa in the 1960s and 1970s, positing themselves as offering the shared hand of communist brotherhood from Western oppressors. Because of more recent events like the invasion of Iraq, which was fully as unjustified as the invasion of Ukraine, Russian propagandists and their eager tankie/leftist foot soldiers have also got a lot of mileage out of "whataboutism." This is likewise an old Soviet propaganda technique designed to deflect any criticism of the actual situation by disingenuously asking "what about this other one!!!"
Likewise, the idea that Ukraine has a "Nazi problem" is itself propaganda. In the last election, far-right/Nazi-identified parties won barely 2% of the vote and AFAIK, no seats at all in the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament). This is far lower than the nearly half of the USA voting for the far-right/Nazi-sympathetic Republican Party, and as noted, the far right elements in the UK and Europe. The idea that Ukraine is "full of Nazis" (with a Jewish president who just celebrated iftar with the Ukrainian Muslims/Crimean Tatars during Ramadan and instituted observance of Muslim holidays nationwide, very Nazi of him) is a line used by Russian propagandists to "justify" their attack and appeal to national memories of the Great Patriotic War (World War II) and the struggle against the Nazis, which is the central cultural grievance/memory in modern Russia. The Putin regime has referred to anyone they don't like, but especially the Ukrainians, as "Nazis" for a long time now, so it's supposedly their holy duty to kill them/commit ethnic cleansing/forcibly reunite the "fraternal" people of "Little Russia," as Ukraine has been called since the 17th century, with "Great Russia." And yeah, no.
Because the West and Europe has been pretty solidly on Ukraine's side, Russia has therefore cultivated countries like China, India, Brazil, etc, who have all suffered from Western interference and are looking to move into the first rank of global superpowers. This is, as noted, similar to the competing systems of influence built during the Cold War, but it also relies on much deeper Russian grievances that go back to the medieval era. Anybody who knows a thing about actual Russian history would therefore know that every single word it says about the Ukraine situation is a lie, but because that lie is useful for many other countries and fits into their own understanding of themselves, it is easy to repeat and act like it's a so-called superior moral position. This is also why US/American tankies so eagerly lap up Russian propaganda, because it plays into their moral sense of themselves as far better than the rest of the West and "righteously" discovering that the West is responsible for all the evil in the world etc etc. While non-Westerners are just helpless misunderstood puppets with no real agency or ability to make complex choices. This totally makes sense!!!
