It's me! The person who's just now literally responding to comments from last year's EGF. (I don't know, I can't explain myself. Reading nice things about my writing is my one true joy ™️, and also looking at them for too long burns my face off.)

N.E.Way, I realized that Friday was Groundhog Day and my Holsom timeloop fic is called Friday Prime, and the humor (and waiting on hold during 12+ calls to medical bureaucracy) took hold and I posted Chapter 1. Excited for it to be out in the world.

BUT! Don't take that to mean I won't be posting the first chapter of Simon's mums soon too, because I WILL. I even went through and removed my weird notations of things like <<whatever a barrister does for their first job>> and <<government place>>, so we're getting closer and closer by the day.

Anyway, here's seven sentences (oops) from Simon's mums, which I've tentatively titled finally (already, always). Simon POV

"The Easter bunny?" "I don't think magical creatures are particularly attracted to Christian holidays."  "So no Father Christmas, then?"  "Nope."  "Too bad."  "Simon," Penny says, "You have magic. The Normal myths about magical creatures are just trying to convince kids that magic exists, you know it exists, you can't be disappointed that Father Christmas doesn't exist when you've seen a dragon." 

And another also seven sentences from Friday Prime, aka Holsom Timeloop:

"So, is this like, a thing now?" Lardo asks. "SMH defensive pairs hooking up—Ollie and Wicks, you two…" she looks at Dex and Nursey, who've gravitated towards each other through the course of the exchange. Dex flushes bright red. "Oh, we aren't…" "We could be," Nursey says, as smooth as he's always pretended to be. "I mean, if you want. I'd be down."

One minute he’s walking into his room, slinging off his backpack and getting ready to collapse into bed. The next, there’s a weight on his back and hands over his eyes that smell distinctly of almond body wash and pencil shavings.

“Lards?”

“Shh.” Her voice sounds amused. “This is a holdup.”

Bitty puts his hands in the air very slowly. “Oh-kay,” he says, intrigued and already sort of starting to smile. “I don’t have much, sugar. Is there a price on my head? I can pay in pie.”

“Want your evening,” she says, propping her chin on his shoulder. Her breath and her hands are warm. “You free?”

He wouldn’t have been, but—huh. He’d thought Shruti’s reason for bailing on their Jerry’s date had sounded a little flimsy. He was planning to spend the evening in bed, but Jack’s busy at one last off-season charity thing, and the frogs are out at dinner. No one’s around to guilt him into participating in whatever senior week thing's been cooked up on campus tonight.

“If I say yes, are you gonna let go of me?”

“Maybe,” Lardo singsongs.

“Okay, yes."

As you might've heard already, sign-ups for our zine's second issue ''#SwawesomeGreetings'' have already started (Click here for the announcement post) . And as some of you may have noticed, this time we're allowing collaborative works between contributors! So we'd like to make a little post explaining how the collabs work (not to fear, it's as easy as pie, y'all)

How To Sign Up For Collabs

Decide who you will collab with. This can be a friend you know, a mutual, or even someone you find on our discord! Reach out to a creator you want to collab with and see if they'd be down to contribute with you. No worries if not, but hey you won't know 'till you try, right?

You'll each need to sign up separately. This means each member of the collab will have their own sign-up form.

On the sign-up form, include the name and preferred contact information of your collaborator.

And you're all set! All contributors will be contacted the day after sign-ups close. Check-ins will be done separately, but it'd be helpful if you kept each other up to date with any major decisions you each make.
