WHM mains make some noise.
I've been leveling WHM lately and I don't think Raya-O knows any proper white mages.
To support more mayhem and WHM related therapy, consider supporting me on patreon or throwing me a buck on kofi (links for both are in the pinned post).

Most Punchable Job Trainer (Healer)
Honorable mention to Jannequinard de Durendaire, who is not an Astrologian trainer in any sense of the word but is, in your humble pollrunner's opinion, pretty punchable.

Decided to do a quick practice sketch of the Sennas. Gridania is, admittedly, my favorite zone aesthetically and the plots that take place there are very flavorful.
Still not super-confident about doing any more than busts yet, but I'm working on it!

Featuring the return of Nophica with a gun I did this thing on twitter, but I want to talk about it
(warning, I'm really mad about 6.3's Myths of the Realm segment in this so if you liked it maybe just skip Nophica lol)
Gaia (Krile would be in favorite Character, but Gaia would be higher than the next Scion so I did it this way around)
I just think Gaia is heavily underused... She's like the most interesting character we have in the entire game and she's stuck in Side Quest Purgatory where she will never leave - despite being the only person we know that actually shares this connection to the ancient world with us. And I know they're trying to "But she doesn't even care" her out of being relevant, but even just giving us a dialogue option askng her about Elpis and all of the stuff we learned about the ancients in EW (similar to the void stuff with Unukalhai) is extremely overdue in my opinion.
Krile Best Character. I have no notes, not even positive ones, I just vibe with her character the most. As pessimistic as I am about Myths of the Realm not ending in a trash fire, I do hope they at least give us some Krile action as some sort of pre-heating for her likely heavy involvement with Dawntrail.
Nophy (The off-brand Nophica we could have had before 6.3 ruined her) (hyperbolic) (unless) I just think "Mother Nature but she has a grudge" is such a fun concept and they decided to throw it all out by being like "But maybe everything you ever heard is wrong - but maybe it isn't we would never tell :)))" for some unfathomable reason, killing any amount of nuance the gods had to begin with to instead present us with bland paper cut-outs that say "We love you :)" when you touch them.
Like the only reason I can think of why they chose to not only not tell us anything about the individual gods but also actively push back against the stuff we did know from lore is that they were so scared that people would be mad about any controversial character intepretation and would then complain that you need to buy Fantasia to change your god - but like?? That's such a stupid reason?
Like "I love every living being equally... except for that stupid cow over there and I will get revenge for what she has done to me that one time a millenia ago" is just such a gold mine of character interactions that they just decided to abandon and ugh even just thinking about it makes me mad about 6.3 all over again.
Nanamo & Kan-E-Senna I couldn't decide lol Nanamo was one of the first characters I really cared for in this game, so I had to draw her. (I didn't really follow the story that much until like... Stormblood. Just did not interest me that much for some reason despite liking the rest of the game) I have really fond memories of doing the salt quests with her for some reason.
But I also love every time we run into Kane as part of the msq - and I also liked her EW role quest (I know people hate that one for some reason, but it makes perfect sense to be there? I think the only problem with it is that the model for that specific tree that it's centered around isn't particularly noteworthy and doesn't really get across just how important that tree is to the city - which is why it is in so many quests - especially since it's right in between gigantic world tree sized trees all around it and this one is just... a squart tree)
Also they should have left her hair ginger, I don't get why they changed it even if they have some lore reason for it
Raya-O-Senna Honestly, I think it's mostly that I like where she's placed in the overworld. It's just fun to jump over to her and that makes me like her more I guess (also helps that her brother is annoying, so she's immediately 5 times more likeable)
Also, after posting this on twt I immediately saw that someone had posted theirs with Fufucha from the botanist guild and felt so dumb for forgetting the gathering jobs, I would have chosen her too lol
Crym and Punishment Will not explain.

FFXIV Write 2022, day 13: confluence
The simple wind spell holds for a moment, before it splutters into sparks of light.
Rhea wiggles her fingers, as if that alone will bring the wind back. The whispers at the back of her mind are as loud as ever — deafeningly so, and threatening to tip her over into a migraine when they refuse to shut up — but at least they’re present, and that’s far more that she can say for her time on the First.
Everything is as it should be. Between the confluence of her soul with Ardbert’s and the primordial light safely purged from her being, everything should have reverted back to what it once was. She’s fine.
“Let me try that again,” she says, resolutely ignoring the way her voice wavers with the pressure that’s started to build in her sinuses and behind her eyes.
Across from her, Raya-O sits cross-legged, with her elbow digging into her thigh and her head resting in the palm of her hand. “I don’t get it,” she says. “This is basic stuff! There’s no way Brother E-Sumi would’ve sent you over to me if you were so shaky on the fundamentals, so unless your aether’s changed somehow—”
“She quite literally just told us that her aether changed in a very significant way,” Kan-E interjects.
“But she also said that it changed back,” Raya-O counters.
“Pure speculation.”
“Sure, if that’s what we’re calling a renowned aetherologist’s assessment.”
”Y’shtola did say that I’m not in danger of transforming into a sin eater anymore,” Rhea interjects.
Next to her, Brother E-Sumi gently pats her on the knee. “Be that as it may,” he says, very calmly, “the fact of the matter is that the scope of your abilities has been significantly altered by your journey on the First.” Then, he shoots a stern frown to Kan-E. “So I would kindly ask for your patience,” then he turns his frown to Raya-O, “as well as the poise and decorum expected of a white mage, as we sort this out.”
Kan-E recoils at that, her expression abashed; Rhea has to stifle a laugh, lest she be on the receiving end of Brother E-Sumi’s reprimand as well. Next to Kan-E, Raya-O averts her gaze downward, her face nearly as red as her hair. “Yes, Brother E-Sumi,” the two of them say in unison.
He turns back to Rhea, then, once again patting her on the knee. “Try again. Don’t hold back; we will be ready to step in if need be.”
With a deep breath, Rhea closes her eyes once more. Focuses on the voices at the back of her head, drags them into the forefront. They’re the same voices she’s heard all her life — a bit louder, perhaps, when she’s long gotten used to the First’s silence.
She conjures Aero once more and everything is normal, expected. The wind feels as it should; the voices fall into a quiet, contented hum.
(The sin eater runs its blade through Tesleen. Halric stares on, impassive as ever, as she transforms into the very same before him.)
“Focus, Rhea,” says Raya-O, gently. “You’ve got it.”
The wind threatens to spiral out of control, but it’s not so bad that Rhea can’t rein it back in — so she does. What matters today is endurance, not strength. It doesn’t have to be a big spell — just one that lasts long enough that it can be contained.
(Darkness cleaves the sky in half. All is as it should be, as Vauthry’s aether dissipates and flows into her. Then something splinters apart — pain, sparking in her chest as light floods back into the sky — the Crystal Exarch — no, G’raha Tia, she knew it was him the entire time, even when he refused to confirm it — claiming the light and promising that he will carry it to his grave.)
That same pain sparks in her chest, then. Where it becomes nonsensical is when none of the Lightwardens’ aether is left. There is nothing tearing her apart but herself.
Raya-O grips her arm. “Rhea, you need to calm down.”
(She doesn’t want to die. She was ready to give her life for this cause, ever since it became clear that that’s precisely what the others have been doing all this time they’ve been stranded there — but she doesn’t want to die. Not when they’re all together again. Not when everything is going right, for once.)
“Kan-E,” says Brother E-Sumi in a low voice. “Watch for Voidsent.”
(A shower of meteors falls from the sky. The Ancients flee, tripping over their robes as they shove their way past the warped, twisted beasts that materialize against all the logic that rules their beloved creation magic.)
—the spell splinters apart in her hands — dissipating into a shower of sparks of light.
Her breath catches in her throat; the pressure behind her eyes builds into tears that she’s going to be powerless against, in a short while.
On the ground, just outside the door, there’s the smoldering remains of an imp. Kan-E stands a little ways away, her fingers coiled tightly around her staff. Raya-O merely stares, her eyes wide with the same kind of fear that had flooded Ryne’s, before they marched up those stairs in Amaurot. Brother E-Sumi sighs deeply, bowing his head.
“I’m sorry,” she says in a shaking whisper. “I don’t know why I…”
Raya-O shakes your head. “Don’t apologize,” she says, firmly. “This is not your fault.”
Very gently, Brother E-Sumi pats Rhea on the knee. “We’ll stop here for today,” he says. “Get some rest. We can always try again tomorrow.”
Kan-E’s eyes narrow with the closest thing to anger that Rhea‘s seen from her in a long, long time — but it’s obvious all the same that none of it is directed at her.

Most Huggable Job Trainer (Healer)
By popular request, I have separated out A-Ruhn-Senna and Raya-O-Senna, even though that means that almost half of the options are White Mage-specific.

Handed Down from Stone
Chapter 9: Etched in Opal Characters: Y'zel Tia, Y'lem Tia, Kana-E Senna, Raya-O Senna, A-Ruhn Senna, E-Sumi Yan, some Elementals Rating: T for Tia Notes: Character Death Warning
Tumblr media
-Near the Dravania Forelands, 1562-
"Esuna!"
Y'zel's eyes lit up as the sparkle of his aether surrounded his father. The man coughed a bit and shifted in the bedding atop the sleigh, shaking the building snow off him.
"Very good Y'zel…but you need to keep moving us forward."
The boy frowned at his father, the man looking pale. "Did it not work again?"
"Oh no. It worked fine…but I still need proper medicine to get me back on my feet."
Y'lem offered the boy a smile, the young Miqo'te unable to see the strain behind it. Doing as he was told, Y'zel began to pull again, dragging the bed ridden man along the snowy road.
"Couldn't we ask Master Matoya to help…"
"No," the man wheezed stubbornly. "The folks in Tailfeather will have a healer with the proper medicine."
Y'lem began to cough again in the wake of his insistence. The boy's ears lowered in turn. Left to trudge on, he pulled at the sleigh, finding it rather easy to move over the slick snow, not accounting for how light and thin his father had gotten.
"Are there chocobos in Tailfeather? I miss the chocobos from home."
"There are probably chocobos."
"Really? I bet that's why they call it Tailfeather! Do you think that's why they call it Tailfeather?"
"I don't know Zel…"
"I hope it is. I'm going to ask when we get there. Do you think we could take one home with us? I bet it'd pull the sleigh and we'd go really fast! Don't you think?"
"..."
"I'd take really good care of it if I could. I know how to clean the stables and feed them. Uncle Y'rhul even taught me how to put on a saddle and Uncle Saru'a and Uncle Saru'to showed me how to sweep properly."
"..."
Y'zel's ears perked as he listened for a response. Getting none, he scowled then looked back to find his father still and reclined against the handlebars.
"Daddy?"
Y'lem didn't stir. Quietly, the boy veered off the path and found a tree that had space enough for them to rest under without being burned by snow or low branches. Yawning, he crawled into the blankets with his father, moving his heavy arm around him, before closing his eyes to rest.
-Old Gridania 1-
Y'zel's ears twitched as he stood in the clearing. Whispers came in all directions, disjointed and cluttered, lacking intention until some started to stick out more than others.
"Endless outsiders."
"More squabbling between men over the skies. We should send another mighty wind to remind them who Twelveswood belongs to."
"Not all of them are bad."
"In the days of the Green Wrath, such destruction would never be allowed without penance."
"All should are children of the Shroud. They've protected us when we couldn't protect ourselves."
"Can the pink one year us?"
"Blessed by Hydayln. Though not 'the' most blessed."
"Nonsense. Only out chosen can."
Opening his eyes, Y'zel looked to the Senna siblings and E-Sumi before teetering over and catching himself as he collapsed onto his thighs. Kana-E and A-Ruhn were quick to offer him a hand up while the Guildmaster looked on stoically.
"Sorry. The Echo takes a lot out of me when I force it…," Y'zel apologized before fluttering his ears shyly, "I heard anger towards outsiders…and also a little fondness. There doesn't seem to be a consensus among the voices."
"Well, that sounds about right," Raya-O thought aloud.
"Or a lucky guess," the guildmaster huffed before stepping forward, grey eyes looking up into the Keepers, "But I don't sense any falsehood from you and your cousins' reputations are well known here. Raya-O if you could find time to tutor him."
Y'zel bowed deeply as the guildmaster took his leave, Kana-E leaving with him as she struck up conversation. Letting out an exhale, the Miqo'te looked to the twins before following along. He thought it strange how easily others seemed to continue to adopt him. The imposed exile by his father in Sharlayan and the constant liminality he experienced in Ishgard, and the bitterness exchanged in Coerthas, somehow had not hardened him nor made him unlovable despite feeling like it should.
Home was starting to take many forms and faces. And yet…

Mylla: Another word out of your mouth, Aldis and I'll beat you to death. Solkzagyl: Nah, therapy would take too much time. Imma just create an entire gaslighting plot around my death to recreate batman for Ishgard. Wyrnzoen: We get into some mild shenanigans here. Curious Gorge: I could try to look inward and explore my emotions...or I could just keep hitting things. Fray: This is bullshit, this whole thing is bullshit, that's a scam, fuck the church, here's a dark soul crystal. Sophie: Walk, walk, fashion baby. Hamon: It isn't violence against the elderly, if I call it TRAINING and I AM the elderly. Widargelt: Going to have more royal drama than the Sultana. Foulques: Gridania is racist...they will never fix this. But I can! BECAUSE I AM THE BEST LANCER IN THE WOR--OH NO! Estinien: Ishgard is classist...they will never fix this. But I can! BECAUSE I AM THE BEST DRAGOON IN THE WOR--OH NO! Jacke: We can stab people AND stop acts of terrorism. Karasu: Just having a little giggle. Having a bit of a laugh. Master Musosai: DAME DA NE! DAME YO DAME NA NO YO! Drusilla: Grandad was mad that the Emperor trolled him and is now making it everyone's problem. Sylphie: You may not like it but this is what peak conjury looks like. Raya-O-Senna: Hello and welcome! A-Ruhn-Senna: Die in a forest fire. Alka: Is it me or is that tonberry kinda...cute? Leveva: I would say I am sorry for blacking out, beating you and then burying you up to your neck in the middle of Coerthas. But I am not. Jannequinard: It is QUITE fine, my dear Lady Leveva. You did only what the stars asked, as any astrologian worth their salt would do. Aries Rising and all that. Loifa: I could easily explain my motives and backstory but this quest line has to last 8 more levels. Silvairre: Gridania is racist and shall never change its wa--oh no something happened to me personally. I have seen the error of my ways! Sanson: I can still hear his voice. Guydelot: Gay, gay, homosexual, gay, gay Stephanivien: Gonne training requires a steady hand and a leveled head. So I shall send you to someone who will teach you these things. Rostnstahl: ...sorry what? That guy over there has been looking at me for a while. Joye: That's your reflection. Rostnstahl: Oh right...hey you, shoot that guy over there in the ass. Nashmeira: Therapy would take too much time, lets dance for people's enjoyment. Cocobuki: How do you feel about casting Fire I for 50 levels? Shatotto: An arrow may have your name on it. But a fire ball is addressed to whom it may concern. K'lyhia: If my calculations are correct, you are only in this to get God and Anime on your side. Y'mhrita: I hear you know my sister. Well good news, cause we're about to harnass the power of GOD AND ANIME TO OUR SIDE! X'rhun: Yeah, I don't know why people keep running past and yelling, "Would you care to fuck this catman". Martyn: I am helping cure the smallpox by putting on shows to raise awareness. Quickly, VOMIT A FISH AT ME!
