I'm kinda self conscious about my computer nd now I can't stop thinking about it with all this gross talk, is it normal to wear down spaces in your keys, bc I've had this one for four or five years now and a lot of the keys are sorta gross and smooth. I try to wash my hands most of the time before I use it but I still feel like a little dirty grease demon every time I see my keyboard under decent light
oh no thats completely normal just from like. Wear. not even necessarily your fingers being oily or anything its just the repeated motion that wears the plastic down from the matte finish and makes it smooth and shiny thats 100% normal i prommy. it even happens on like touchpads and palmrests and basically any kind of button that has a finish on it like the ones under touchpads if they have the rubberized stuff on them. its basically just like. paint/top coating of plastic/etc rubbing off from friction pretty much it just inevitably happens with use
i will say though, dunno what kind of computer you have, but as a psa: keyboard covers are kinda bullshit. theyre good for keeping crumbs and god forbid liquids out of your computer, but- i cant really speak for All Computers on this, just macbooks, and even then im not 100% sure about NEW new ones and on like... All post 2017 or so models its inadvisable to have anything thicker than a piece of paper between the keyboard and screen at all because it can and WILL crack the screen. INCLUDING webcam covers. and of course apple does not tell you this in any meaningful fuckin way. those screens are almost always north of $500 to do if you dont have apple care. literally treat them like infants.- but on some screens with protective glass in front (again, mostly macbooks that im 100% sure on), the oils from your hands that will inevitably get on the cover will gradually cause the screen to kinda deteriorate, which is to say it wont be like... rendered unusable, but it will have an imprint shaped like the keyboard from the cover. which is a shame cause some of them are really pretty but alas i suppose

i just watched this video on iPhone vs android, and one of the questions that really got to me was 'if i was to switch, much would it ruin your life a little bit', and honestly, yeah, switching from apple to another ecosystem would just be a fucking nightmare
like the thing is, im someone who really enjoys the 'apple ecosystem'. yea big corpo bad etc etc but i just really enjoy using apple stuff, and how well it all fits together bring me joy in my day-to-day. hell, being able to copy something on my phone and paste on my laptop is so bloody useful, and that's just the tip of how well inter-connected it all is. i love using all of it - even how they make uis is something i like (i know people can hate it, but for me macOS is my favourite os ever)
if i had to switch, it'd cost me so, so, so much money, at least to do so entirely, and i could never, ever, do this again. as much as i enjoy this whole ecosystem stuff, i will never in my life lock myself down like this again, even to some goody-two-shoes that promises to make everything open-source or smth. because, despite everything, i do get the little gnawing at the back of my mind that lets me know just how screwed id be if apple dropped off the face of the earth tomorrow. id do whatever it took to never have it happen again
this is just a random ramble tbh. don't be like me, use linux

Battling Dragons (and Spreadsheets) on the Go: A Review of the Razer Blade 14 (2023)
Gamers with wanderlust, rejoice! The Razer Blade 14 (2023) might just be your perfect travel companion. Packing serious muscle into a sleek, portable frame, this little beast promises top-notch performance and stunning visuals – but is it all hype, or does it truly deliver? We strapped in and put it to the test:
First Impressions:
Let's start with the looks. This laptop oozes cool with its clean lines, matte black finish, and the iconic glowing Razer logo adorning the lid. It's undeniably sleek and feels incredibly well-built, a premium look that matches its premium price tag. But hey, you don't buy a Razer for subtlety, right?
Powerhouse Performance:
Looks are great, but what about the muscle? We opted for the RTX 3070 Ti model, and it did not disappoint. Crushing AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring at high settings? Check. Editing 4K footage on the go? No sweat. This laptop packs a serious punch, making it a dream for both gamers and creative professionals.
Portable Powerhouse:
Now, the true beauty of the Blade 14 lies in its portability. We're talking a 14-inch form factor that's incredibly thin and light, making it easy to toss in your backpack and game wherever your adventures take you. Plus, the battery life is surprisingly decent, lasting us several hours during casual use and even offering respectable playtime for less demanding games.
Not Without Its Quirks:
Of course, no device is perfect. The Blade 14's compact size comes with a few trade-offs. The keyboard, while comfortable, feels a bit cramped, and the lack of a dedicated NumPad might bother some users. Additionally, the fans can get quite loud under heavy load, which might be a dealbreaker for noise-sensitive gamers.
The Verdict:
So, is the Razer Blade 14 (2023) worth the hefty price tag? If you're a gamer or creative pro who values portability and top-tier performance, then absolutely. It's a powerful machine that lets you work and play hard, wherever you go. However, if you're on a tight budget or prioritize a full-sized keyboard and quieter operation, other options might be more suitable.
Overall, the Razer Blade 14 (2023) is a stunning piece of hardware that delivers exceptional performance in a portable package. Just be prepared to pay a premium for the privilege.

Razer wants $1,800 to fix my computer which I paid $2,000 for less than two years ago. Before I shell out that kind of money to repair it, does anyone have any gaming laptop recommendations? It would need to be light weight enough for me to carry back and forth from work (my last one weighs 5 pounds) and needs to have a relatively small screen (last one was 14 inches).

Only 150 pieces will be produced Razer has introduced the Blade 16 x Automobili Lamborghini Edition laptop, which is designed in the style of the famous Italian automobile brand.  Technically it's a version of the Blade 16, but with a unique design. This design consists primarily of orange accents, but there are also Lamborghini logos on the body.  Razer Blade 16 x Automobili Lamborghini Edition unveiled for $5,000 The parameters here are taken from the top version of the Blade 16. It is based on the Core i9-13950HX processor and is paired with a 175-watt GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop. That is, this is generally one of the most powerful combinations in the mobile segment. The laptop also offers 32 GB of RAM, a 4 TB SSD, and a 16-inch Mini-LED screen that allows you to switch between two modes: 4K at 120 Hz or Full HD+ at 240 Hz.   https://youtu.be/y70xoGM0tlo In total, Razer will release only 150 of these laptops, and you will have to pay a lot for uniqueness. The price of the laptop is $5,000.
