#rena and chat are actually best friends tho
theerurishipper · 7 months
Note
Real question tho. Was there ever an episode where the moment Alya was in anyway involved in the hero plot as hero herself Marinette DIDN'T treat her inherently more like a genuine partner and MUCH better than she treated/ treats Chat Noir?
The only episode i can remember where this doesn't happen is in "Mayura". But every other time?
S4 needs barely any explaining, Alya and Adrien were at the complete opposite extremes of partnership treatment from Marinette. Alya got the partnership deluxe on easy mode basically handed to her and Chat had to tank all the downsides, she got every promotion possible bc she is Marinette's civilian best friend while Chat was most of the time more of a "beloved" pet and scapegoat or punching bag than an actual partner which he had to learn to accept that he doesn't deserve any better under Ladybug's leadership. If Marinette even rememberd thinking about Chat at all.
Even s5 still keeps it consistent that Alya would be Marinette's actual partner now if only she still had her Miraculous. I don't think there has been a single time where Marinette has not explicitly chosen Alya/ Rena over Chat Noir in terms of actual partnership. "Revelation" even had Ladybug deceive Chat again, sending him out as bait, so she can get Alya involved as Scarabella so Marinette can try to trick Lila into admitting out loud that she's indeed a liar and Alya finally believes her. There was nothing noble about that. She was SURPRISED that Lila immediately deakumatized herself.
Great, and tahts what Marinette abandoned Chat Noir for on the battle field with only a hidden Scarabella who could have NOT helped him in any way if he had DARED to need help against Lila and the whole city after him.
I will never ever get over Marinette in Hack-San just not remembering Chat's existence at all besides telling Alya to try laughing at his jokes. Since day 1 Hawkmoth is after their Miraculous but apparently Marinette couldn't possibly imagine taht Chat suddenly seeing a new Ladybug holder out of nowhere is a bad thing.
But hey, SHE was taken care of, and apparently that's all that matters in her head. How wonderful that the episode basically said that if Adrien had given someone else his Miraculous before this without telling her, Marinette apparently wouldn't have feared for Chat's life at all. No concern spared for Chat Noir's survival, it's a miracle she remembered him at all, I guess?
This is not the Ladynoir I once signed up for.
Tumblr media
Seriously, Season 4 was literally about Marinette pretty much replacing Chat Noir with Alya, and the only reason he got to be her special partner again was because Gabe stole all the Miraculous, not because she realized that the partner she wanted and the one whom she wanted by her side was Chat Noir. And apparently she didn't bother to tell him anything in Season 5 either, considering she's still ready to go behind his back (though this isn't as egregious) and lie to him. Like, the Season 5 finale has her tell Alya the secret about Gabe and that he was Monarch, but not Chat Noir (I don't mean Adrien, I mean Chat Noir), her partner who has been by her side the whole time. Like, Alya gets all this special and secretive information, and Chat Noir gets nothing, even the information he is entitled to. She hasn't learnt a damn thing. And I know, it's the fault of the writers, but it's so deeply entrenched into her character at this point that I'm finding it difficult to make that distinction.
Thank you for your ask!

Some of yall bout to be real mad at me...
Tumblr media
Breakdown under read more.
Percabeth Energy: True love, made for each other, perfection, flawless, wholesome, zero bad vibes (Note: I planned to leave this part empty, but changed my mind when I saw these two ships)
Julerose is like a star in the void. In a show full of weirdness, these two are proof that an unproblematic relationship trumps all! For that, I give them the honor of Percabeth energy.
Tom and Sabine are just straight Julerose with the added bonus that Tom kicked his racist dad to curb and never looked back. Of only Marinette never found that guy again.
Lumity Energy: Full love, realistic problems but like not in an abusive way, the only reason these ships aren't giving Percabeth is because the show ruined them, yes that is what I'm going with, No I don't think Lumity is bad the name is just a joke
Alya x Marinette is a goated ship, fight me! "bUt WhAt AbOuT lIlA", everyone is an idiot in those episodes! Forgot Lila and remember that Marinette and Alya have a very supportive relationship that's mutual. Although, I couldn't completely forget about Lila which is why it's down here.
Lukanette was robbed. Luka x Adrien was also robbed.
So I don't dislike the gay boys but that one time Nathaniel ripped Marc's sketchbook just sticks in my head even tho he said sorry. It's not even in character for Nathaniel to do that! Oof. Still goated in the sauce.
I used to hate Marichat but then it went on to become the best side of the love square because it got so little focus?! More is less, and Elation is better than three thirds of the love square episodes.
Marinette and Kagami used to be such a wholesome relationship but then season 5 kept dragging out Kagami's kiddie pool sized jealousy for bad Lila episodes. At least I can pretend they don't exist.
Nooro and his only friend in the world. And now they've been separated 😭
BMBLB Energy: Not half bad, just not for me, may or may not be canon/developed well, I'm not criticizing BLBMB its just a joke
Adrien x Juleka could be cute, but it's one of those things that you have to accept will never be canon or even get episodes for it.
All of the other Lovesquare ships got dropped down here because of Arc Fatigue. Ladrien didn't even get a kiss!
Marinette and Marc got better development in Reverser than Nathaniel and Marc did.
"Back in my day, we used to ship Marinette with Nathaniel!" "Sure grandpa, let's get you to bed."
Ivan and Mylene wishes they could be the straight version of Julerose. These two are just weirdly codependent to the point that Ivan's last focus episode was like... season 1?
Skip
Adrien/Chat Noir and Alya/Rena Rouge had more chemistry with each other in two episodes than Alya had with Nino in the last 5 years (Yall bout to be really mad at me)
Adrien x Nathaniel could be cute, but it's one of those things that you have to accept will never be canon or even get episodes for it. Huh, deja vu.
Adrien and Nino had more chemistry with each other than Alya had with Nino in the last 5 years. Now I'm just doing it on porpoise.
"Oh look, a boy and a girl being friends? Not in my Westboro baptist church cartoon!!! They need to be married and have 8 children now!!!" Is the vibe this ship gives.
Past this point I don't really care about kwami shipping.
The only reason these two are up here is because the darkest skin background character managed to snag some sense of relevance. Good for him.
Klance Energy: waif like and blind, child like and bitter, guant visage, smoking mirrors, you have erased yourself, you learned to hate yourself, burning on the inside, he's tried so many times to take my life away, but he'll be the first to die tonight, I promise my dear
Remember when Chloe actually cared about Adrien before Astruc retconed her to be his spin on Marie Antoinette?
I stopped shipping it after Lies and you should too. Adrien was horrible to her.
Remember when Chloe actually cared about Sabrina before Astruc retconed her to not care about Sabrina at all and then he executive producers had to rerail her character by showing that she did care about Sabrina in her final moments?
GIRL, WHY ARE YOU WITH HIM???
Dosen't exist in canon, poor man's Lukanette in fanon.
Reread the last sentence. Also, I dislike the pare the spares thing.
Just wait until I get to Dj wifi.
GIRL, WHY ARE YOU WITH HIM???
Plagg/Tiki x Adrien/Marinette would be a good ship if half of the pairing weren't Fire emblem dragon wifu's that are 7,000 years old... but that's not going to stop some of yall, is it 😞
Skip
Reylo energy: forbidden, horrifying, abusive, wtf, GIRL WHY ARE YOU WITH HIM, unlike the other names I actually do hate Reylo
I do not ship canon Lila with anyone except the devil because she belongs in Gehenna. Reread this every time she shows up.
I do not ship canon Kim with anyone except his right hand because he deserves a kick in the teeth. All of the fanfictions that made him a mean jock were basically right. Reread this everytime he shows up.
Hi! It's me! I'm the guy who wrote Nino salt, it's me! I made a fic, where Alya punches him in his teeth! He should have never stalked her and assumed she was cheating on him; He should have never revealed her cover without her consent; why dafaq is Alya even still with him?
I refuse to ship Chloe with her victims.
Again, I refuse to ship Chloe with her victims.
Chloe is too toxic to be with prince Ali (Sabrina is also toxic so it balances out).
Kagami is too good for Chloe.
Three times the charm, I refuse to ship Chloe with her victims.
Max is Ace Me being an idiot
Does anyone even care about this AU anymore?
I am a big dumb dumb that confused Asexuality with Aromanticism. Whoops.
Marinette x Max does have some chemistry in the Gamer episodes. Unfortunately, Max stopped having episodes with her for some reason, and I blame the robot.
Boring
Do these two ever talk, or...
Well apparently the writers do because we're getting a special about them.
WTF IS THIS PICTURE???
WHY IS LUKA CHOKING NATHANIEL??????

anyone wanna hear me rant abt miraculous ladybug. yes? good
please dont get me wrong. i really like the concept of this show. im a huge sucker for animal themed superheroes and magical girls. the powers for the heros and some of the villains really interest me, and i even like some of the designs (some of the later heros like rooster bold) but i also really hate this show. the shipping is really frustrating, especially when you do not care about half of the characters that the show is trying to make you want to ship. im not even gonna TALK about the shipping square with adrien chat noir marinette and ladybug bc that thing is so infuriating. especially when i dont like marinette and think ladybug and chat noirs relationship is kinda weird. anyway. im not talking about it. im not talking about it. marinette is personally just one of those characters i dont like- she gets better the farther you get into the series but shes just so high energy all the time that it exhausts me to watch her scramble around for too long. chloe is more entertaining and i like her more despite her being racist (shown mostly in kung food if i remember right). adrien is ok. if he got more screen time i think i wouldve liked him more but for some reason hes treated like a side character. im not basing this off of any real numbers but CHLOE, a minor antagonist, gets more or less the same screen time he does. and so much of his screen time is just him transforming. im also not counting chat noir as part of his screen time. theyre different. alya is fine but for some reason she cant tell her best friend is a stalker. nino is actually one of my favorites hes like marinette but a lot more chill and doesnt stalk his classmates. rose and juleka are gay. ivan and mylene are there. max is good if you need someone to say a lot of words. i really like alix shes cool and actually acknowledges how weird it is that marinette knows adries whole schedule. nathaniel is also a character i really like i cant really explain why. kim is there but hes annoying sometimes. also the wiki says his last name according to the wiki is lê chiến which is way too close to “the dog” in french for it to not be funny to me. sabrina is a lap dog. maybe her last name should be la chien. lila is FINE but why are the lies she tells so big. whats the point. luka. this bitch annoys the FUCK out of me i hate the way he is. we get it you play guitar. marc is nice i feel like he would write really good fanfic on ao3. zoe does not exist in my mind. hawkmoth is kind of annoying and makes too many puns. try a stealth mission with someone who doesnt have ulterior motives PLEASE that would be so cool. mayura is a queen i love mayura. she does look like a grape tho. im rotating felix around in my brain rn i cannot figure out how i feel about this guy. hes fine i like the parent swap bullshit he always pulls. as for the heroes. god. why are they the way they are? ladybug i like more than marinette but only barely. its weird how the ladybug and cat miraculous are presented as a duo but you really only need the ladybug to save the day. they point this out at some point but its still really weird to me. the cat miraculous does have better outfits though since the ladybug outfits are just. uh. red spotted spandex. it would be cool if the ladybug miraculous got nerfed and instead it got little wings to go with the outfit that could spring them up in the air. and maybe a visor. and maybe antennae. and- ok im done there. chat noir is fine hes weird abt ladybug but that becomes something you expect in this show. i LOVE queen bee. shes so dramatic i love her. fuck vesperia all my homies hate vesperia it would have been so much better if chloe got to keep the miraculous like SOMEONE did after her identity was revealed. cough cough RENA ROUGE cough cough. rena rouge is fine but why is her outfit exactly the same as lila when she was akumatized- each outfit is based off the miraculous user’s personal preference (SUPPOSEDLY). carapace is pretty good- anansi is actually a really solid episode despite nora being nothing like anansi in the mythos, i think the writers just wanted a cool name. carapace/nino are actually really similar so im not surprised that alya figured it out so fast. for some reason the fox and turtle miraculous dont do anything to the users personalities but the ladybug and cat make major changes. for some reason. maybe its power levels? were never told why. i dont think ill talk about any of the other heroes because there are SO MANY OF THEM. i like rooster bold though his design is just really cool to me. this show actually has a lot of structuring issues for me- the concept of this show would be helped so much if it wasnt episodic and everything wasnt reset every episode. having running arcs would make it so much more interesting- i love the monster of the week format but it would be cool if characters could retain memories from week to week. uhhhhhh what else can i talk about. ships? i like marc and nathaniel- i like both characters and i think they would be happy together instead of nate crushing on marinette “i am in love with adrien” dupain-cheng. can we talk abt how dupain means “of bread” (or close to that i havent taken french in a while) these last names are really odd. the akumatization process is fun i guess but the designs. oh the designs. they hurt my eyes sometimes. i do like silencer though despite hating luka. i think im done now? i cant think of much else to complain about besides the animation of the hair making it look so flat. im done.

villains and heroes au
There are two miraculous teams, and they’re against each other. Separated into villains and heroes, the cold blooded reptiles and insects are the villains, and the warm blooded animals and birds are the heroes. Whether they are actually heroes or villains or just different opposing groups is the question. I kinda like them as Batman figures vs. Batman-esque villains. They all fight for their own independent reasons. But the groups are as follows:
Team Ladybug: Ladybug herself, Carapace, Viperion, Ryuko, Queen Bee and Hawkmoth.
Team Chat Noir: Chat Noir himself, Rena Rouge, Roi Singe, Pegasus, Bunnyx and Mayura.
Why? Because i think im smart and i like the dynamics of each group (and the rivalry!!!!! impeccable). They dont know the other groups civillian identities. Possible kimax, chlolix, alyadrien and ninette (bc i stan).

Gale Reacts: Rocketear (no subs)
LIVE REACTION NO SUBS.
spoilers below
My Portuguese is shoddy (but being able to speak spanish helps)
Dinosaurs are real. I S*** YOU NOT. DINOSAURS ARE REAL. I already LOVE THIS EPISODE. ITS NOT CAUSE AN AKUMA. ITS JUST F***ING DINOSAURS! Which means Jurassic park is canon in ML.
-Im glad Chat noir got to help out Ladybug and Carapace
-So Bob roth wants them for a movie OF F***ING COURSE
-Nino is wondering why Alya/Rena Rouge wasnt there. Daww
-Rena explaining her new form is her suit compensating! I KNEW IT WASNT A POTION! SUCK IT EVERYONE WHO SAID I WAS WRONG
-NINO THOUGHT THEY WERE BREAKING UP BABY NO! She says the lie that she isnt rena rouge anymore. Which Nino was fine with. But she is lying.
-Alya wants to post on the ladyblog about her new power stuff BUT marinette says no. (Marinette being proud of alya for doing the right thing)
-Oh... Nino thinks Alya be hiding something else! OH THIS REMINDS ME OF MY ABUELA'S NOVELAS
-Marinette wingwomaning like a pro.
-so thats why they went to the movie.
-Nino still sus.
-OH NINO IS PISSED AT THE MOVIE! side note, Rena rouge looks SO WEIRD IN 2D
-Alya trying to explain its just movie crap.
-But Alya acting sus and Nino being the perfect gentleman but being ignored.
-Nino decides to get ice cream for them by Andre. Why do I feel like this will go wrong.
-OH GOSH NO! LADYBUG NOT NOW! DO NOT RUIN MY DJWIFI!
-And now Nino is more sus!
-Cheek kiss was cute tho
-DUDE! The universe really wants nino to think he is getting cucked by chat noir
-Nino is obsessing. But to be honest, with the amount of coincidences I REALLY cant blame him for being suspicious.
-"DUDE CHAT NOIR IS STEALING MY GIRL!"
-Adrien laughs and tells him to relax. Something about jagged stone being more likely to be trying for alya I think? It was hard to catch. Basically saying highly unlikely or Jagged stone... likes em young (shudders). I am going to assume the former.
-Okay so I think i figured it out before This even happens. Adrien to go talk to alya and assure that she ISNT crushing on him. Plagg did NOT help this situation.
-And nino is going to go investigate and see this misunderstanding!
-OMG he is acting like a NOIR DETECTIVE. NINO I F***ING LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
-Also that SAX THO!
- Nino is a master of disguise.
-OH NO! Nino arrived right there. That looks so bad!
-Chat noir talks WAY TO FAST to translate! But I think I get what he is saying
-Okay I got it! So Alya thought he was sus of her but really when she found out he thought she was into him she clears up the misunderstanding.
-But to Nino it looks SO BAD.
-But Alya assures him that is NOT the case. Which Chat noir is RELIEVED TO HEAR. The Alynoir is cute tho.
-BUT POOR NINO!
-Damn, I gotta give the VA props. Nino sounds Heartbroken. I actually feel a bit choked up
-...OMG HE IS BACK TO HIS HABIT OF BLOWING BUBBLES. DID...DID NINO NOT GO HOME?!
-NINO TURNED THE BOILER ROOM INTO A DETECTIVE OFFICE! I
CANT!
-Bubbles are like his cigerattes
-He shows the proof
-He had music playing! for the detective effect.
-Adrien explaining how there couldnt be anything between them. Them being alya and Chat noir. He is trying to convince his heartbroken friend.
-If I could understand the entire thing, I would say this is the best adrien nino exchange I have ever seen. Adrinino is strong
-NINO TOLD ADRIEN... THAT ALYA IS RENA ROUGE! OH SHIT.
-Which Nino explains is how Chat noir could have fallen for Rena Rouge
-Adrien is pissed cause he is wondering how Nino knows Rena Rouge is Alya
-And Adrien also finds out Nino is Carapace. Oh WOW! THIS ANGST POTENTIAL!
-And Adrien is trying to stay calm here but he is clearly shaken that Ladybug didnt tell him this. And Nino assumes Chat noir already knew. OH WOW!
-Oh is pissed, but using it as a way to say that Chat noir didnt know anything. Oh DOUBLE DAMN! I cant tell who is getting angrier.
-Nino said something that just SHOOK Adrien. Something about giving him the miraculous all the time.
-Okay so Adrien processed the stuff. That Carapace is Nino, Alya is Rena. But he asks how he knows that Chat noir would know that.
-So basically (if I am right) Nino thinks that after countless rejections from Ladybug, Chat noir decided to go for the next best heroine, Rena Rouge.
-Nino's acting this out is amazing
-Nino is heart broken. And wants to punch out chat noir
-HE CRIED TEARS FOR YOU GIRL!
-Well I will give Nino this. Gotta put it to bed. Nino CANT be Luka. Cause he actually gets upset when the woman he loves might be in love with another guy.
-SHADOWMOTH YOU LEAVE HIM ALONE YOU BASTARD!
-Adrien is trying to calm him down.
-oh no.... ADRIEN RUN!
-Nino accepts and ROCKETEAR IS HERE.
-PLAGG NOT NOW!
-Chat noir, NOT A SMART IDEA!
-Rocketear ready to rip open the cat's ass
-Alya explained what happened to marinette and the girl just shakes her head.
-ROCKETEAR CHUCKED A CAR AT CHAT NOIR!
-WEAPONIZED TEARS!
-Chat noir is trying to calm him down.
-Alya now feels like its her fault.
-THEY FOUND THE OFFICE
-ITS STILL PLAYING THE NOIR MUSIC! I F***ING CANT. And they found the phone
-Marinette ... looked a touch bit concerned. Or am i just wearing my clown nose.
-Alya explains but Marinette says its a problem.
-Lucky charm is a projecter.
-I dont understand the plan.
-Yo! Chat noir actually putting on a good fight despite NOT wanting to fight nino and trying to explain. Haven seen him fight this well since Gang of secrets, so nice change of pace.
-FOOL NO! DONT THROW THE BATON!
-CHAT NOIR YOU IDIOT!
-Okay that looked REALLY F***ING PAINFUL.
-Was... Was nino about to blow his head off?!
-OH I GET IT. The projection will show the rest of the evening with the help of rena's mirage! THAT IS GENIUS
-Okay thats cute.
-DAMN THAT ALYNINO IS TOPS
-Nino appologizing for that.
-Wiping his tears
-MY HEART IS SO FULL RIGHT NOW I CANT
-NINO BROKE FREE! MY BOY!!!!!
-I AM SO PROUD.
-Okay this is my favorite akuma of season 4.
-Shadowmoth being salty
-Nino gets a ladybug charm
-Nino appologizing
-Oh Chat noir almost let it slip that he knew about Carapace and Rena Rouge. But... didnt.
-Adrien is now salty, saying something about Ladybug not trusting him with that. But plagg points out he has no reason to be.
-But Adrien just feels it but seems to simmer down.
-Correction! she told Nino everything! Alya tells nino everything!
-Wow so only adrien is getting no trust. Damn
____________________________________________________________
I NEED THE ENGLISH SUB SO I CAN FULLY APPRECIATE THE DETECTIVE NINO BITS!
This maybe my new favorite episode of season 4.

“Didn’t Need Burrow” Masterpost (February)
Anonymous said:
Don't need Burrow: Finally, it will be revealed that Adrien is the main character and that Marinette was merely the narrator of his story (or history of their love).
The thing that we already know and won’t be a surprise.
Adrien didn’t have enough attention already but they were tired of using Marinette as their camera to his story.
Anonymous said:
Didn’t need burrow: Kagami wil decide to stay in Japan at the end of the Tokyo special. Prompting Chat Noir to start pursuing Ladybug again.
I doubt they’d make the specials official canon but I also don’t doubt Kagami getting sidelined so easily.
Anonymous said:
Alternative didn’t need burrow: Kagami won’t even be in the Japan special and all cultural knowledge will be explained by Adrien
Oh my gooooood.
*flashes back to Adrien and Gabriel greeting Kagami and Tomoe in Japanese*
Anonymous said:
Don't need Burrow: It will be revealed that Chloe is actually an innocent and naive little girl who acted like a malicious bully because she was manipulated and intimidated by Sabrina all the time. And it was Sabrina who made her bully the rest of the class and act as if everything had to revolve around her. And it will be retcon that Chloe did not abuse everyone to impress Audrey, but because Sabrina made her do it. (Note: I'm Anon that joked about Sabrina being more dangerous than Chloe)
fdjkhgjdfgfd welcome back, for sure.
I wasn’t ready for the Sabrina part since I was taking it 100% seriously up until then.
In before they say that Sabrina is just indulging Chloe and Chloe is how she is because Sabrina won’t do anything about it.
Anonymous said:
Didn't Need Burrow to know that if there is finally a white little kid gets introduced to the show, he or she(though let's be honest, most often a he) will be a sweet little angel of sunshine who's always on their best behavior and never does anything wrong, unlike all those rowdy black children(barf). Bonus if the kid has blonde hair and blue/green/grey eyes. Double bonus if someone(say, Marinette or Nadja) says to one of the other kids "See, why can't you behave like they do?" Rolling my eyes.
OMG SOMEONE ELSE SAID IT. BLESS YOU.
I always feel so awkward hating on all the kid characters for that reason but it really does come down to they’re kids and I don’t like kids. Most of them are just written as “kid” and nothing else.
Friendly piece of advice to people writing children and are afraid of doing what this show does where the personality is just “stereotypical child”...
Write characters as if they’re teenagers first, and then “age them down.” It’s the difference between writing Mylene (for example) with the personality of “child,” and writing Mylene as a younger version of herself.
It also will make it less jarring if the character happens to grow up and become a teen at some point in the story, where their personality is better established; they’ll come off as a developed person rather than someone with a completely different personality from when they were little.
(If you’re having trouble imagining said child character as a teenager/adult, there’s definitely a step missing.)
Anonymous said:
Don't Need Burrow to know that when all the kids in Marinette and Adrien's class inevitably get Miraculouses of their own, only the girls will get theirs taken from them for one reason or another, either because someone else figured out their identity or they do something stupid and risk people knowing(or people actually do know), while the boys get to keep theirs permanently and Ladybug becomes the token Smurfette on her superhero team. Rena Rouge might be the exception to this.
G I R L  P O W E R
+ I mean, for Rena, Marinette’s already regretted giving her the miraculous at least once, so yeah.
Anonymous said:
Don't Need Burrow to know that when Marinette and Adrien inevitably discover each others' identities, defeat Hawk Moth and Mayura(the only good thing about this whole scenario), and gEt ToGeThEr, it(the latter, at least) will only be in the last episode of the last season, and we will get no time to see their development from "who dis?" to friends, to lovers. Love=ma^2 shippers will punch the nearest wall, while me and everyone else will sip our salty tea and ask what the fuck they expected.
If Season 4 decides the split between Lukanette and Adrimi, that means Season 5 is just going to be a love square shipping fuel fest of absolute and complete obnoxiousness with angst that’ll lead to reverse love square at best and then nothing more.
The tea will, however, be delicious.
Anonymous said:
Don't Need Burrow to know that Adrien will continue to steadfastly insist that Marinette is "just a friend"(such as saying so when Alya or Nino confronts him on it, or saying romantic sounding things to Marinette herself that are just intended as shipper-fanservice-bait, before adding something anticlimatic like "you're a really good FRIEND")...up until the moment when the plot decides to push them together and he'll magically change his tune and say that she was always more than just a friend.
How convenient~
Yeah, the plot has this habit of just changing things so immediately that it gives you whiplash, because they’ve never built anything up. I remember that it did that for me with the Miracle Box opening in “Sapotis” to reveal all the zodiacs.
Anonymous said:
Didn't Need Burrow to know that Alya(and possibly the rest of the girl squad, but lets face it, most likely Alya so that she can be the Black Best Friend) will be used solely as a plot device to get Adrien and Marinette together(against Marinette's protests, if I may add), and Marinette will get almost no chances to make a move on Adrien on her own. I know you salt on Alya a lot but you gotta admit it kinda feels bad to potentially have her pushed aside to only support the love square.
No no, I totally agree! I don’t like Alya but I obviously feel bad that her and Nino have just become love square/plot pushers. Add in Rena Rouge and eugh, no thanks.
Anonymous said:
Didn’t Need Burrow to know when Marinette finally tells Adrien she’s in love with him, he’ll reject her, and when Marinette gets over him and gets together with Luka, then he’ll probably get akumatised because of it, and it’s all Marinettes fault for getting over him(EVEN THO HE MADE IT CLEAR HE WASNT INTERESTED!!!) and entering a healthy relationship.
This one sent me through a whirlwind of emotions.
Also, inevitable "only notice the girl who’s wanted you forever because now she has a boyfriend,” because yay.
Anonymous said:
Didn't need Burrow: Ms Bustiers pregnancy is going to be handled one of two ways, but they'll both lead to the same outcome: either
1) her pregnancy will be ignored and she'll look the same as she always has until the one episode where it's plot relevant, and she'll suddenly look nine months pregnant, or
2) she'll go from looking the way she does in the New York Special to looking nine months pregnant in the first episode of S4, possibly with the addition of cringy pregnancy jokes peppered in throughout the season until the episode where her being pregnant is plot relevant.
The inevitable outcome of this whole 'pregnant teacher' subplot will be an episode where Ms Bustier goes into labor during an Akuma attack that she (and possibly the entire class) are caught in the middle of for whatever reason, she'll give birth either during or right after said Akuma attack. LB will have to juggle both fighting the Akuma and delivering the baby, Chat will be useless during the pregnancy subplot (50/50 that he won't be much help during the Akuma attack), and there will be a moment where the two heroes are both cooing over the baby, and someone will make a remark about how they'll be such good parents one day.
I know this is probably too specific to actually pan out, but I'm confident that at least part of this will line up with what happens in the show
dfkhgjdfkgdfg oh my god, Ladybug helping deliver a baby, please kill me.
The “good parents” line absolutely made me cringe because they’d totally do that.
The thing about how Bustier will look is also 150% accurate and it pains me to say so. Her looking pregnant is the most “fleshing out” that we’ll ever get from her.
I could also see her getting a substitute instead (I originally was going to shorten it to “sub” but then I just imagined Miss Bustier eating a sub sandwich) and then coming back at some point like “oh I already had the baby, here he/she is,” and that’s how they avoid making a model for her being pregnant.
Anonymous said:
Don't Need Burrow: A character will have a bad day and get increasingly mad whenever things continue to go bad for them/when other people annoy them, but he or she will still manage to keep it cool. Only when MARINETTE does something wrong will that person finally SNAP and get akumatized, and of course, Marinette will be blamed for it despite everything already going bad for the character to begin with. It's like the writers try so hard to make things her fault when she's barely a part of it.
oh my god
This is also totally Santa Claws/Bother Christmas but with Marinette instead of Ladybug. Gotta get both sides in there, you know?

Miraculous Ladybug Ghost Master AU.
Marinette Dupain Cheng dies.
She doesn’t know why. She doesn’t know how. She barely remembers about her life before her death.
All she knows, is that it wasn’t her fault, and that she still needs to stay on the mortal plane and do... something, she’s not sure what, but this nagging feeling is stopping her from moving on, so the Bureau of Astral Affairs, taking advantage of her strong plasmic essence, decides to employ her as the Ghost Master... er, Mistress of Paris, just in time as the previous one, Master Fu, is just about to retire and ascend into the light, with the code name Ladybug, to help her overcome her grudge.
She is tasked with taking leadership of a small group of lost souls in Paris and use it to solve the problems other trapped or grudge holding ghosts and specters in the city, recruiting them in case they were to not ascend to the light as a result of that, or deal with mortals meddling with the spiritual world, thus, even if she weren’t to remember what she was supposed to do, her service to the bureau will net her enough good karma to one day move on from her mortal grudge and ascend to the light.
Her team is composed by:
Chat Noir, a Mane (Ghost of someone who met a untimely death and ended up trapped in his own corpse). He can posses people, and has luck based haunting powers in addition to corpse and destruction related ones. He also doesn’t remember much about his life aside from some brief, positive memories about his mother and a giant, burly man. He knows his body was trapped beneath a recently destroyed mansion (His house perhaps), and his soul was freed when, several years after the collapse, some mortals, guided from the shadows by the previous ghost master, finally managed to find his body beneath the rubble, in the basement of the house, allowing him to posses the nearest human and escape his bodily prison.
Rena Rouge, a Apparition (Ghost of a Murder Victim). She was a journalist who learned too much about the dealings of a local fashion mogul and businessman, and was killed off as a result. She’s still searching for a way to expose him to the mortal authorities, hence her still being trapped on the mortal realm. Chat Noir somehow doesn’t feel comfortable about any of this.
Jade Turtle, a Wraith, the ghost who suffered a particularly horrific death, usually related to electricity, he was a skilled musician and movie director, but when his journalist girlfriend was killed in mysterious circumstances, he went into a deep depression, and seemingly killed himself. In truth, he never accepted his girlfriend being gone and, despite her constant presence at his side in the form of a ghost, out of grief tried to find out what happened to her, only to be discovered and later killed as a result, throwing him in his bathtub alongside an electrical appliance, his girlfriend watching powerlessly, her mild powers as a newborn ghost only allowing her to mildly influence the situation, only allowing her to attract mortals to help when it was too late, at least to find the body. He has given up on vengeance, and is just happy to be back together with his girlfriend again, now helping her in her new mission.
Queen Bee, a Fetch, the ghost of a vain mortal, now trapped inside mirrors and reflections. She died due to a accident, which caused her to fall off her balcony down to the ground below. Currently having a blast in her new, “Can make people ugly or beautiful as I see fit with my mirror powers” life... er, unlife. Some times she misses her friend and father tho, wondering when she will see them again.
Ryuko, a Banshee, the ghost of a woman who suffered a violent and unjust death, she used o be a fencer, but when her team partner, rival and best friend, a home schooled rich boy, disappeared and his mansion collapsed due to mysterious circumstances, she suffered a heavy hit. She was one of the mortals who discovered Adrien’s Body thanks to the aid of the previous ghost master, and was in fact the mortal he ended up possessing in order to break free. The experience took a hit on her already vulnerable mind, and ended up opening a door to the astral plane. This is when the voice started, a sickly sweet voice promising her power and the ability to achieve anything as long as she listened to it, and which ultimately only lead her to find a altar in a secluded location in the mansion ruins and activate it, losing her life in the process to power it, allowing... something, to come back. Not that she remembers anything of this, or exactly how she managed to escape from there and be found by the previous Ghost Master, just that she has a really deep grudge against... something, and she just knows that she finds Chat Noir particularly  annoying in some way, but can’t really pin point why or why she almost cried when he saw him for the first time.
Viperion, a Phantom, the ghost of someone with a artistic or eccentric mind, was killed by a greedy music manager trying to cover the fact he plagiarized his songs, currently still on the mortal plane until his sister and mother pass out too.
Plagg, a Gremlin (Ghost of a animal who died due to a piece of technology). He has the unique powers Jinx Storm (Allows him to jinx everyone in the area, unlike usual Luck Storm, who gives out jinxes and charms equally) and Chaos Surge (ALL electronic appliances in the building will short out, shocking everyone near them and potentially destroying them). He claims to be the ghost of a Cat who was killed when the pinball he was resting on short circuited, frying him on the spot.
Tikki, a Horde (Ghost of a sentient swarm of animals, usually insects). She’s a swarm of sentient ladybugs who has taken form, or so she appears. She has the unique power Charm Storm, which charmes everyone in the area, giving them good luck and prosperity, but also a higher susceptibility to the supernatural.
Both Plagg and Tikki are however actually Shadows, Elder Gods reduced into Ghost Form to influence the mortal world, who have been overseeing the city of Paris from long before the previous ghost master even existed as a mortal. Their true motives and identities, while unclear to the other members, are actually to track down the other Shadows, currently trapped into this reality, and depart with them back into the spiritual world, hence their aid in trying to free as many ghosts as possible from their mortal issues.
One of such Shadows, Nooroo, is actually the reason why most of this mess is happening.
Gabriel Agreste, occultist, fashion mogul and corrupt businessman, following the writings and the research of 1970′s deranged doctors Krauss and Brunner, actually tried to summon a powerful shadow, the Darkling, a long forgotten elder deity of murder and despair, made out of the grime and soot that comes out of the souls that ascend to the light, who had already been laid to rest, in order to use its powers in order to revive his deceased wife, but couldn’t meet the quota of souls to feed this powerful entity, only ending up summoning Nooroo, another Shadow, in the form of a Horde of Butterflies, the ritual now unhinged by the sudden switch in ghosts, causing the mansion to collapse. Gabriel perishes, but due to a unforeseen trick of fate, Nooroo becomes bonded to him.
Now, as Hawkmoth, a Spectre, the ghost of a man who lived a particularly violent life, he plans to remain on the mortal plane as long as possible, using his newfound shadow to create new ghosts to enslave and do his bidding with, with the help of his assistant Nathalie, still alive and willingly doing his bidding in the mortal world, and still searching for his missing wife and a way to bring her, himself, and their dead son back into the realm of the living.
Unless the new Ghost Mistress, Marinette Dupain Cheng, the only being capable to lead and empower ghosts to their fullest, the only being who can lift them from their brainwashing, who can understand the complex reasoning behind their trappings and their issues and solve it all for them, stops him first.

What are your top 10 favorite MLB characters?
Oof top ten? I barely like these bitches afdjgojfrayeljgpiyigsyd okay okay fr tho let me think...
10) Lila - I think there's a lot of potential there, and if they just tap into it more often she might go higher on the list. I don't have high hopes that they will tho but I guess we'll see.
9) Zoe - what can I say, I love me a blank slate with a personality trait that I can relate to and use as a baseline to project on. Half of the fun of a character to me is trying to infer as much subtext as possible, and while I prefer having more text to work with as opposed to less, I also can't resist a challenge. Also, she has a cute design and I'm a bit of a simp like that.
8) Chloe - yes I'm putting her above Zoe and yes I like her more but as you can see based on the numbers, it's not by much. Chloe could best be summed up by the word potential imo. There's so much the writers could have done with her and still can if they bother to try, but at this point I've given up all hope that they'll take her anywhere interesting at all. Forget positive, I don't think they plan on making her anything more than a one note, shallow cardboard cutout or a caricature, a cliche used to conviniently move the plot along. Honestly she should be ranked lowest, shouldn't even be on this list with how she's being written recently. But I've reserved her a spot on the list because she did earn it at one point. As far as I'm concerned, this represents what she was, what she could've been, and what she forever will be in my heart.
7) Alya - I wanna like you girl, please be more likeable. Fr tho Alya is such a polarising character and I'm not even touching on fan reception and discourse and controversies, I don't feel at all qualified to talk about any of that. I mean she's polarising to me personally, in that when she's written well she's written really super well but when she isn't or when something she does rubs me the wrong way and it isn't properly addressed by the characters or story, it really pisses me off. There's something very compelling about Alya as a character, as even just a concept, a hero obsessed, genre savvy, cool and confident ride or die bestie who's super down for whatever whacky shenanigans the world throws at her, and it's remarkably easy to fuck up and make her unbearable at times. Overall I love her lots I just wish I could do that more consistently. Then again nothing is consistent in this fucking show, least of all the characterization of central characters, which brings me to!
6) Nino - FUCK ROCKETEAR, ALL MY HOMIES HATE ROCKETEAR. I'm so fucking mad at what that episode did to him! Nino doesn't do this!! He doesn't go around jumping to the worst conclusions about his girlfriend and a hero of Paris based on a movie that HE KNOWS is FICTIONAL and MADE BY A DUDE WHO DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE ACTUAL PEOPLE THE CHARACTERS IN IT ARE BASED ON! that's what sparks the conflict btw, if you recall, Rena Rouge and Chat Noir having a romance, IN THE MOVIE!!!! aside from this character assassinating episode tho, Nino is a consistently good character, one of very few, really. He's immediately down to be friends with Adrien the moment he meets him, he's got beef with authority figures like all good radical youths should, and he's fiercely protective over the people he cares about which really should be brought up more often even when he isn't Carapace in the episode, because it's one of his best qualities imo. And between movie directing and DJing, he's lowkey a pretty creative and even organized guy. He's a cool dude and deserves better from the writing of the show. And speaking of characters that deserve better!
5) Sabrina - surprise bitches! What, did you think she'd be number one? Come on, give me a little more credit than that! Do I love her? Yes. Is she my favorite? Also yes. Do these facts hold up when I compare her to other characters? ...weeeeeeelllllllllll. okay listen. She's great, she's cute, she's amazing, and there's both a lot of subtext to be inferred and a lot of text to be dived into and analyzed and think about. But all that being said, there's still not a whole lot to go on, not much to work with really. Even as a super mega hardcore Sabrina Stan, I can recognize that a lot of what I think and how I feel about her is headcanons and theories meant to fill the gap and self projection meant to help me relate to her more as I already do somewhat with the canon of her character, so I wish to extend that further. However, despite all this, who she is in canon, and more importantly who she could be if given the chance, and by that I mean a real chance that isn't immediately taken away from her by the end of the episode and makes her think she has no choice but to go back to what she's always been (I'm looking at you, Evillustrator), is very near and dear to my heart. And just for that, she earned the sweet middle spot on this list.
And with the list running so long already and my battery at 2%, I think I'll wrap it up here for now. And if you still want a part two after reading through this hot mess, please just let me know!

ok im kinda tired from studying all day and i just watched the latest episode, and ive got some thoughts??? but im not in the best state of mind to articulate everything so imma just do some dot points:
- letting everyone have a go as a superhero: i dont agree with; it sort of trivialises that kind of power and is contradictory to master fu’s own experiences with his carelessness,,, like did you even learn anything from hawkmoth lmao... idk why but this thing upset/made me most uncomfortable, it just seems like a lot of carelessness, but tbh this is also a kids show with a kids audience so i guess you do have to sacrifice some elements of common sense/rational thought and action/general consistency with fu’s decisions for some Cool Heroes and Fun New Powers
- leading on from this, what is our position on how we treat kwamis?? : these are sentient beings, these are actual gods ( i think?? i havent read the comics), who are chained to a miraculous. what is our (by that inclusive, im referring to the characters in the show + the actual audience + producers) actual position on them?? so we respect them as mentors and guides + actual gods, but do we also treat them with the same triviality as the miraculous object itself??? something to give away and lock up at will, something to utilise only in times of need?? and those are only in part rhetorical qqs, im genuinely curious and i wont judge if thats the way things are
- chat noir and rena rouge: y’all can argue that their interactions were strictly platonic but imma fight for this; he was blatantly flirting with her. he kissed her hand, he was *casually* leaning against his baton, leaning in towards her, ok admittedly, i know french culture is a lot more direct and touchy than western culture and i havent down my research lmao but it felt a lot like he was interested??? i mean these are the same stuff he does to ladybug??? and alya (maybe she saw it as just platonic) but she also indulged him even tho shes already in a relationship ??? lol idek maybe its just me, but the first introduction made me feel uncomfortable coz of that (the second interaction was much more platonic tho)
- keeping chat noir out of the loop: ive seen a lot about this already on the tags, and 100% agree. at this point i dont know what to make of the relationship between lb and cn. @the ml producers, whether you wanna sell them as partners or as a duo where ladybug is the Main, ill support, but pls: consistency. i feel like theyve always been presented as a partnership, like two parts of one whole, but this ep kinda went against that? marinette has visited fu many times (implied), he allowed her to choose a hero, he himself explained all that detail about the miraculous’ to her, she left chat noir to fend for himself (without explaining the plan) while she went to find fu. adrien, who took gabriel’s book to learn more himself, didnt even get the chance to learn properly. and i bet that had he been given the opportunity to read, lb wouldve been the first person he went to. partnership = developing together, making decisions together, being transparent and clear w/ each other. i didnt see that today. what i saw was something more akin to batman and robin, hero and sidekick
- development/consistency w/ ladybug and chat noir’s (general) relationship: again, ik this is a kids show, and each episode is meant to be independent of each other, and there isnt a fixed sense of continuity. and this dot point sort of touches on the last 2 as well, but a change in the dynamic had so much potential to progress on ladybug and chat noir’s relationship (there could’ve been conflict, there could’ve been insecurities, there could’ve been distance, esp. following the Glaciator ep). the producers could’ve used this opportunity to see a shift in their general relationship + some solid characterisation (in relation to their partnership/dynamic) and actually lay some solid groundwork beyond the whole lovesquare thing.
- alya in general: ok so a positive: some good characterisation for alya. it was gr8 to see some more insight about her family dynamic, her own interactions w/ her siblings, the type of person she is beyond school and the ladyblog. shes undoubtedly worthy to receive that miraculous; headstrong, focused, learns quickly (thats a bonus). but i gotta agree with some of the posts circulating, marinette, as professional as she can be when she has to, is still ultimately biased. master fu tells her himself to choose someone she trusts (according to the translation i got), and doesnt that entail some subjectivity??? thats not to say that she chose her just bcoz theyre friends because marinette would be blind not to see all these gr8 qualities in her bff. but like ppl are saying, i think alya shouldve been chosen by virtue by the guardian, who knows these miraculous’ more than anyone, knows the sort of characters each miraculous is suited to, instead of marinette randomly selecting one and giving it to her best friend.
- gabriel: is a hypocrite and does not deserve to be a parent, but what else is  new lmao

No one asked but I've been thinking a lot about gang of secrets, Mr Pigeon 72, and optigami, the theories of Alya being untrustworthy, and Marinette's choices.
The most common thoughts I see about Alya seem to boil down to "Marinette made a mistake cuz Alya can't keep secrets, tried to find out LB's identity, posted pics of LB and Chat kissing without asking first, and she's the fox miraculous holder and foxes are conniving liars".
And ok but 1) she's let 1 actual secret slip out of several to 1 person (and it actually involved him and the misunderstanding that arose in animan). She didn't tell nino or LB that she knew who carapace was, even tho they both already knew his identity anyway. 2) and 3) her passion is reporting. She wanted the exclusive scoop on LB's identity cuz she didn't realize how dangerous that could be, and a kissing pic is generally not something that reporters ask permission to publish. That doesn't make it right, but as an amateur reporter in relation to her blog, she's focused on news related ethics which is about accuracy of sources and facts not public relations/etc. 4) her being Rena rouge is in direct juxtaposition to Lila being Volpina. There's a "good" and "bad" side to the power of all the miraculouses, and lying has been explored as a both a harmful and beneficial thing in miraculous.
This being said I do agree it was at least partly a mistake to tell Alya, specifically because her identity is known to hawkmoth, and because Maribug didn't tell Chat. Maribug absolutely needed more support, and she deserves it. She shouldn't have to handle the pressure alone. And I do understand why she chose Alya, her best friend next to Tikki and a temp hero she already knew the identity of. It was also a v spur of the moment, break-down driven choice in a moment of extreme stress and isolation.
That being said, there was no good reason for Mari not to extend that courtesy to Chat, the only other person who permanently has a miraculous and has fought as her partner for the entire series. Not to mention the fact that he's the only other miraculous holder who hasn't had their identity compromised by hawkmoth.
I think it goes back to trust. In Reflekdoll, Mari doesn't trust mr bug to figure out what the lucky charm was for. She trusts him to be chat noir, to fill that specific role, but not to be her confidant or have any real expansion beyond his current role. She values him as an ally and friend, but still seems to think of him to some extent as the less competent/reliable/trustworthy of their duo, and allows her anxieties and fears (that she doesn't communicate to him, even just within the context of their superhero roles) to dictate their relationship and trust. Part of that perception is due to the persona he performs as Chat, but I had hoped that after all this time and seeing the many times he has sacrificed himself for her, and the underlying seriousness and vulnerability he has, that would have changed. Reflekdoll just seems to have solidified her perception of him as the less responsible one with an easier role.
Her decisions due to her anxieties aren't really her fault. She's a kid with no guidance beyond herself and Tikki, with lots of trauma and pressure she never should've had to shoulder. I think it was probly easier to just tell Alya, because she knew both of her identities already and they are v close out of costume. But in effect, she treats Chat as if he isn't responsible or trustworthy enough. And that's not fair to him, especially after all they have been through, how seriously he has taken her boundaries to not share their identities with each other, etc.
I think part of her decisions in optigami were due to her logic-driven mind. In her mind, the worst effects of the pressure and isolation were solved by telling Alya, and the issue of getting a miraculous to Alya is solved by having her keep one. The chat Blanc timeline issue won't be an issue as long as Chat doesn't find out her identity. These are solutions to the most pressing issues, so everything should be fine as long as those solutions work. And cuz Chat is pushing his feelings down, she doesn’t even realize that there’s an issue there. And that’s not her fault either, but at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if he brought it up and she still downplayed his feelings as she has done in other situations, or refused to communicate why she is so afraid of him specifically finding out her identity.
