scar isn't a particularly spiteful individual. he usually stays by the words of "live and let live" unless he felt as if he was wronged.

he does think it's justified to think that his soulmate (who very clearly didn't want to be soulmates with him. he's not stupid, just a bit slow) going behind his back to be a homewrecker and become secret soulmates with someone (who he eventually found to be bigb) can reasonably go into the category of "wronged." it was as if grian forgot that they share pain, because bigb was clearly a biter. so naturally, his conclusion is to go find ren to see his thoughts on the matter. after some placating, and a few promises he will debatably keep, they become secret soulmates he learns very quickly that spite isn't the main motivating factor anymore. (though the scowls from grain that are sent his way are very funny)

It goes from spite to the mutual understanding of two people who have been hurt, to... Something else. Something that they'd like to keep, even once the game is over.

BigB and Grian can enjoy their passing fancy. But Ren and Scar aren't even going to be secret anymore. This is them - collecting trinkets together and plotting murder.

hello, back again! Here with scar angst this time!!

In Elven culture, hair is Very important. You want Long, Light colored hair. That's the norm. Short or dark hair(or god forbid both)? An unlucky omen, bad luck and a curse on the family you come from.

You've been talking a lot about Renscar so maybe this applies, but imagine a guard getting snippy with Scar, who's the captain.

He tells the king "How unfortunate is it, your majesty, for your captain of the guards to be such an unlucky omen?"

Ren snaps back "I beg your pardon?" He's never heard Scar be referred to as anything other than what he is, a delight, a lovely (if chaotic) person to be around. Never a bad omen.

The guard scoffs. "He certainly knows what I mean."

Ren looks over and sees scar, eyes down to the ground, refusing to look at either of them.

Finally Ren hears him speak.

"It's elven culture, Sire. An elf with dark hair is seen as unlucky and a curse to their family.."

Ren has to bite back a sharp laugh.

"Well, not all of us in the kingdom are elven, are we? Therefore, abiding by elven rules and culture is not of concern. Scar is an excellent archer, fighter, and friend. He is loyal to friends and kingdom alike, now tell me sir-" he turns to the guard and Glares. The guard at least has the good grace to look embarrassed. "Does that sound "unlucky" to you? Now, you've had your fun, get out of my sight. And enjoy your position, little good may it do you, because you won't have it for long."

The guard balks. "Is that a threat, your kingship?"

"No. It's a promise." Ren snarls.

He may not be in charge of the guards, but he can still fire them. So the next morning Scar isn't particularly surprised to find him gone.

He definitely gets cuddles, and maybe something else, that night when he and Ren are alone

AWEH AWW MY HEART- Scar being so dejected and sad after the comment.. He tried to brush it off but Ren knows. He sees the smile not reaching Scar's eyes. And gives Scar so many kisses and cuddles and reassurences.
