Robert let out a slow breath and then took a long sip of the beer, hoping it would dull whatever coursed through him. Inevitably, the coverage mentioned Robert himself. The warnings for foul-mouthing the refs, though it was a while since he’d done that. The bad reputation. The woman in the bathroom. The scandal. The heartbroken ex-fiancée. Robert clenched his fist.

Faith Dingle would have been proud at the scene around the Woolpack that afternoon.  The drinking. The loud fighting that dissolved into laughter.  The fact Cain was sniffing around the mikes hooked up to the new and improved karaoke machine bought by Chas around the time things took a real turn for the worst.  Everything was perfect for her.

Cain sitting at a table next to Moira, one hand gripping a pint as he smirked at his family but the other one gripping Moira’s hand like she might float away. Holding it close.  Zach sat quietly next to Cain, his smile not reaching his eyes as he surveyed the group around him. Charity and Chas doing a shot together as Paddy tried to pull the bottle of vodka away from the two women getting dirty looks from the two.  He looked to Mack for help only to be met with his back and his ear stuck to his phone. Mandy jumping up on the stage to sing, ‘I Will Survive’ while Lydia and Sam danced to the beat.  Other Dingles and Dingle adjacent joined in on the fun, dancing to the ironic tune that Mandy was murdering with joy. Even Rhona and Marlon enjoyed the atmosphere as they sat at a table far from the dancing madness.

Watching all of this from the corner was Aaron. Hunched over slightly with his arms folded in front of him on the bar top, a pint sitting untouched in front of him.  He watched his mother take another shot as he clocked Al walking into the pub.  He looked over towards the table with Marlon and Rhona where he sat, coloring with some of the other younger and older Dingle cousins. He looked up at Aaron and smiled as he waved with a crayon in his hand.

He looks a lot like his father. Especially those green eyes.

Aaron shook his head free of Faith’s voice as he waved back, turning around in his seat. Al was getting closer now. Chas took another shot. Aaron sighed knowing nothing good was going to happen here. Nothing good has happened since he found his way home. To say goodbye.

Faith would have loved the drama. The laughter. She would have loved it all. If she was here. Except…she was. Even with Faith gone, she still knew how to be the center of the party.

Of course. It wouldn’t be a Dingle party without Faith in the middle of it all.

Eric Pollard walked in with five white envelopes in his hand. His eyes were still red from the crying during the funeral earlier that day. Brenda wasn’t far behind him, bumping into Al, throwing him off his direct trail to Chas.  Cain noticed what Eric was holding and stood up from the table. Chas noticed her brother’s eyes and followed them to Eric. She threw the shot glass over her shoulder and walked around the bar towards Eric. Paddy, shaken at the sudden rush of the glass being thrown towards his head, took a moment. “Here it comes. The famous letters.”

Now, look at me...I can't get a story idea out of my head....all it took was one scene from a recent Emmerdale episode and one hopeful wish for the 50 anniversary to set me off***

also, i know aaron's next targets will be billy and kim, but it's clear the show is building towards a big moment with chas (probably around xmas i'd say?) and maybe maybe after aaron reconciles with her and finally breaks down, chas will try to help him by either 1) try to reach robert behind his back or 2) ask aaron if he wants to try and go see him. then the plotwist will be aaron and chas calling/reaching the prison and finding out robert isnt there anymore, he is out.

Summary: after a chaotic day at the water park the drive home proves to be a challenge for Aaron and his passengers aren’t exactly helping

“I want McDonald’s” the red headed 5 year old screamed from the back of the car.

Aaron was losing the plot at this point.

“No seb I told you if you where hungry you should have eaten your hotdog!” The Dingle replied plainly.

Seb pouted his lip angrily kicking the back of his youngest dads seat in disapproval.

Aaron sighs ignoring him and continued to just focus on driving. Okay so maybe today hadn’t exactly gone to plan. I mean Getting lost on the way there,Robert falling off the water slide raft,Seb losing his shoes and Mackenzie getting badly sunburned because, He quote ‘didn’t need suncream because he already looked to hot to be burned’. Well he was certainly paying for it now.

“Ouch why do you have leather seats all they do is rub on your fragile skin!” The brunette complained rubbing his sore arm dramatically.

“We’ll next time maybe don’t be a child and listen to me!” Robert scolded Turing around with a slight smile on his face.

Aaron rolled his eyes,finding it amusing his Husband was lecturing his best friend like he was a teenager. “You know Mackenzie Roberts right we warned you this might happen” He said rather to cheerfully.

Mackenzie huffed in annoyance.

“We’ll I’m not taking advice from somebody who can’t sit properly on a rubber ring” He snapped back.

“I thought you where supposed to sit sideways!” Robert argued back angrily the street lamps outside making the bruise on his head very noticeable.

“Not on a four person waterslide you’re not!”

“Oh yeah well at least I don’t look like a walking corpse!” Robert snarked back electing a silent response from the Scotsman.

“I want McDonald’s!” Seb suddenly said again trying to get back to his point of needing fast food.

“No seb!” Aaron said again more sternly this time. The response being the usual another kick to his backseat. “Sebastian Sugden-Dingle you do that again you’re going to bed early!” the Child stopped for a moment letting what his father had said just sink in.

Yeah not going to work because he had gone straight back to kicking the backseat. “ I want McDonald’s!” he screamed again accidentally kicking Mackenzies knee instead of Aaron’s seat. The Scotsman yelped in pain as it made contact with his burned skin,despite having jeans on it still hurt his raw skin through the thin fabric.

“Ouch god dammit Aaron just let him have some McDonald’s!” He shouted clutching his leg desperately as if it was about to fall off.

“Oye don’t yell at my husband!” Robert snapped reaching from the passenger seat to snack his arm,electing another dramatic scream from the Scotsman.

“What the hell sugden!” he yelled.

“Well maybe don’t be a rude Winey brat!”

Aaron was ready to drive into a wall.

“We’ll I’d rather be a winey brat than an uncoordinated blonde!”

Am I dead Aaron thought.

“We’ll at least my skin isn’t half on the floor!”

Maybe I’m in hell?

“I want McDonald’s!”

the breaks on the car suddenly slammed. Causing everyone to jolt forward.Aaron turned his head to face all of them. Their was a chill in the air Robert and Mackenzie awkwardly looked at each other. Seb had stopped his screaming and stared straight into his youngest fathers eyes. The anger seething out of Aaron was very uncomfortable for all them.

“If I continued to hear you two bickering so help me. I will throw you so far out that window their won’t be a planet near enough for your to land on! Seb if you continue to kick my seat I will be putting you to bed so early you’ll never see the dark again! now we’re going to drive home nicely and I don’t want to hear anything for the rest of the drive home! do you understand?”

Seb went silent and Mackenzie and Robert just sat completely still.

“I SAID DO YOU UNDERSTAND!”

they all nodded not daring to speak a word.

Aaron smiled .“good now that’s cleared up let’s get moving.” He chimed Turing the radio on.

An hour later seb had started playing on his tablet while Mackenzie sat looking out the window, and Robert was happily listening to the radio. He reached out to hold his husbands hand smiling at him as he quietly fell asleep.

Finally Aaron thought I got through to them.

“Hey Aaron?” Mackenzie suddenly spoke.

“Yeah?” He replied quietly.

“could we go to burgerking?”

I’m quite new to the Robeson fandom. I was wondering if you could recommend any really good fanfictions?

Oh my god, anon there are so many incredible ones. I will absolutely leave some off because there's just too many. The Robron tag has some of the most incredible fic writers. Incredible. Here are a few of my favorites. Also I'm on mobile and can't get the links to attach so I will just give you some of my all time favorites. Again, sorry that I can't get the links to attach. The fics below are all AU's but there are plenty of amazing canon fics as well. These are just the ones I've read an embarrassing amount of times.

Both Sides of the Moon (by softlyspoken). Anything by this writer needs to be read. Absolutely incredible writer. I have read this particular fic more times than I can count. It's an all time fav.

Stay Awhile and Listen (by exploring_in_space) again this is an all time fav. There's a lovely little line in this fic that has lived rent free in my brain for years now. Bliss. There is also a first chapter to a sequel of this fic available and it's a must read as well.

Out of the Blue (by raelee514) the entire Blue Verse is worth reading. All are amazing. Again all of this author's works are a must read.

When You Know.....You Know (by ScrapyardBoyfriends) also an incredible artist. Give a follow on Tumblr to check out the art.

Robron Fanfiction Update - Committed Mystery Series

Missing: A Committed Mystery Story Update

So...one of the things I've decided to do recently is start taking care of myself. Meaning, don't wallow in work drama/sadness. Don't fall onto the couch into a stupor. Do something. Exercise. Eat well. Talk nicely to myself. Read. Write. Writing is the important part for this update.

I have been waiting to finally sit down and write that big novel I have felt was always inside of me. However, I know I have some loose ends. So, I am diving back into the Committed Mystery pool and I"m going to finish this story out, and do one more mini story to truly wrap everything up.

I'm going to take this as a way to get my writing brain back. Work has taken a lot of creativity away from me and hell...I want it back. So, I've decided to start writing one of my favorite ships once more.

So, I have to admit. I had this story all plotted out in one of my many notebooks. HOWEVER, that notebook is gone now. So, I have to start with what I left off with. I re-read the Missing chapters and my god...I was going all out. (LOL). Not only do I have the main mystery but...I put in four...FOUR... side-quest storylines. All great and what I planned for them are still up in my little lizard brain. HOWEVER...there is one in there...I don't know where the hell it came from?!? Past Amanda was doing the most. Let's put it that way.

Damn past Amanda. Damn. Don't worry, my lizard brain read the one line and went....'Oh...I can make this work!'

So, I am going to plot out the rest of the story and I'm going to start writing everyday after work (instead of eating my feelings) I will write them. I won't stop until I have an end to this story and the next one to wrap things up.

I know...I doubt anyone cares or even knows my stories but I can't leave things unfinished. So...I'm coming back and I'm doing this for myself at the end of the day (though...comments are always welcome...I enjoy the support and love lol).

So....yeah. Here I go. Back to Emmerdale. Back to Robert. Back to Aaron. Back to Robron.
