Please, stop saying Cal is an old man. Cal is an adult, but he is not an old man, he is still young.
I've been thinking about this ask ever since it entered my inbox because this is so so funny to me like how do you know LMAO
I don't think I've ever explicitly mentioned his age on here but just know I am saying old man in the most loving way possible

Still shocked I went from fully believing we would never get to see any new Metalocalypse ever again to seeing Dethklok TWICE in less than a year's time.
Also loved getting to see hometown boys (+goblin) Nekrogoblikon as well as DragonForce again.

Hi there! I'm thinking of adopting my own pet rock, but I want to make sure I do some research and can provide a proper habitat for them before adopting.
Do you have any begginer tips?
Thank you! 💜 🪨
Would love to share some beginner tips!
Research
When adopting a pet rock, find one suitable for your living space. A boulder might be too big in a small apartment, but a pebble might get lost if you intend to leave it in a large yard
Some rocks prefer certain habitats over others. This is largely dependent on where you found them. Some rocks prefer living in aquariums, others prefer sitting in a pot next to a plant, while others, like crystals (or anything sparkly really), prefer sitting on a desk and being admired.
Some rocks are more social than others! Generally, the smaller the rock, the more friends they will need for enrichment. A lonely pebble is very likely to run away from you. (Note: in the case of gravel, the rocks prefer to be named as a whole rather than individually)
Social rocks tend to be cool with being in jars with their friends
When finding a rock, you might be fooled into thinking you're the one finding the rock and removing it from its habitat. When actually, the rock is the one choosing you! If you think a rock looks cool, that's the rock calling you! (This is why you may be tempted to get more rocks than you should, even if you went out with the intention of getting one)
Similarly, if you get a gut feeling about your rock, that's probably your rock trying to talk to you!
Before naming your new rock, give them a nice bath when you first take them home. This allows you to see their full glory before fully deciding on a name!
Enrichment
After finding a nice place for your new rock, it is now important to give them proper enrichment. Here are a few examples of how you can have fun with your rock!
pet them
teach them tricks (popular beginner ones include sit, stand, roll over, and follow)
play some music
my personal favourite, shake them! rocks emerged from the Earth, which has frequent vibrations. shaking a rock is the equivalent of cradling it as it reminds them of mother Earth!
similarly, squeeze them! rocks experience lots of pressure from being underground
rocks are also favorable to human affection, do not be afraid to hug them and give them a little kiss
paint on them! rocks can't really see it but they appreciate the sensation
play pretend (some rocks are just natural formed actors!)
read a story with them
take a walk
etc, etc. I'm sure you can find lots more ways to have fun with your new rock. good luck and have fun!

my biggest fear re: the movie was that they would fuck up khaji da’s characterization / not include hir as much as they should but i was so happy with the amount of screentime xe got and the important moments xe had throughout the film. i was so proud of hir for being the one to remember compassion and mercy in those moments where jaime was overwhelmed with his pain and anger.
being blue beetle is a collaborative effort and you cant have the hero without jaime and khaji da supporting and loving each other (and those around them) wholeheartedly. the parallels between khaji da insisting jaime stand down and spare carapace / ignacio, and jaime trying to save the negotiator at the end of the reach arc in the original comic make me feel INSANE. blue beetle is compassionate, kind, and caring. even to their enemies. thats the most important thing to remember about jaime and khaji da as blue beetle

Famous musician with three daughters under the age of seven Eddie Munson hears that they’re making a Barbie movie and offers/peer pressures his agent to get him presented to the production team as a potential songwriter for the soundtrack. He meets with the team, and eventually the cast, and they all hit it off, and he writes and plays on the eventually award-winning song “I’m Just Ken.”
When he gets asked about whether or not it was hard to write this song, especially since it’s so different from Corroded Coffin’s usual output, he always laughs and says it was easy because he’s got a hell of a Barbie at home that he lives to worship.
(Which the internet finds hilarious because his Barbie is certified Normal Guy and Hot Dad Steve Harrington.)

I adopted a pet rock today! Their name is Boulder!
Don't worry, they were from a reputable, local, small business (landscaping business).
I asked if there was an adoption fee, but the guy said the rock was free of charge!
Gotta scrub that rock! Give them some pampering to get them used to me.
Nice and clean, and drying off in a warm towel
Now, they are resting comfortably in their glass terrarium. There is an airplant in there too, too help remind them of their natural habitat.
Welcome home Boulder!

I'm sorry to bother you again, but could you elaborate on the ethics of buying a pet rock from a store, verses capturing one in the wild?
Is there also a difference in temperament?
Thank you so much!
Thank you for the question! There are generally two types of rocks I would avoid.
"Magic" Crystals
There's nothing wrong with a little bit of magic! However, rocks that supposedly "heal" you tend to be very scammy. You may be tempted to buy them for the sake of rescuing these rocks, but the scammer in question will just buy more! I'd avoid them if I were you.
Note: This is not advocating against buying crystals (or rocks in general)! They are fun and shiny and very alluring rocks! Just remember the value of a rock. It will heal your soul but not your body, for that, go to a doctor!
Commercialized Pet Rocks
These rocks tend to be made using molds to be uniform. There's nothing wrong with this necessarily, however, I would still avoid them. Rocks are free as they come, and adopting rocks from the wild offers a faster connection with your new rock (again, because they chose you!) Commercial rocks are confused newly born babies who have not seen the real world and are generally scared of humans; they may avoid connecting with you altogether.
Addendum:
If you are ever gifted a rock, you will also need to make it warm up to you and your other rocks. Introduce it by making a stack so that it knows its place in the rock family.
