Can you do something with Ellen telling Jack and Luck that she passed away and it happened to be after their practice with the whole team there?

tw: death

the whole team stops and watches as fitzy pulls greener and nico into a conversation, all three sneaking glances at the two unknowing hughes brothers, who are currently engaging in a playful shoving match.

after a minute or so nico breaks away and skates towards the brothers. gently putting a hand on jacks shoulder to get their attention,

"fitzy needs to see you guys," the captain says softly face not revealing anything. jacks eyebrows furrow as both luke and himself look over at there gm who is standing seriously at the bench,

"are we in trouble?" luke asks, "did something happen?" nico lets out a shaky breath shaking his head,

"not here," he mumbles, "just go with fitzy ok?" the swiss then reaches out and squeezes luke's shoulder, "its going to be ok," he reassures.

with one final look at jack the brothers skate off the ice following their GM down the tunnel and into a conference room.

"your mom called me," fitzy says once both boys are sitting down, "she needs to talk to you boys. so just give her a call and I'll be right outside if you need anything ok?" jack and luke nod as tom walks out the door.

"you want to do it?" luke asks. jack shrugs grabbing the phone in the middle of the conference table and dialing ellen's number,

"hey mom," both boys say out loud when the call connects,

"jack luke is that you?" ellens asks voice cracking and sniffles coming through,

"yah mom whats up?" jack asks concern immediately filling him. he looks at his younger brother who's eyes are wide,

"boys-" ellen sobs, "god fuck im sorry. she- well uh- ryleigh she uh-"

"NO" jack yells standing up from his chair, "NO YOU'RE FUCKING JOKING!"

"jack," ellen says, "sweetie,"

"NO FUCK NO IM GOING BACK TO PRACTICE THIS ISN'T FUCKING REAL!" the middle brother then storms out slamming the door behind him.

"mom?" luke says softly. ellen sniffles clearing her throat,

"yah lu,"

"is she really- i-"

"yah baby she is," luke sniffles and somehow manages to pull his knees to his chest,

"i want to come home," he pleads voice cracking,

"yah baby i know. pat is working on getting a private jet for you ok? he'll get the information to the right people and get you their ok?" luke nods his head sniffles escaping him as tears begin to fall.

the mother and son sit in silence, only their sobs and occasional sniffles filling the space, until ellen clears her throat,

"luke honey are you ok? do you need tom? do you think you can get up and go shower and get yourself home and packed?"

"mhm," luke hums,

"ok baby you go do that ok? and keep me updated ok? i love you baby boy, so much," luke blinks at the phone a few times before taking a deep breath,

"ok ma," he says, "i uh ill go do that,"

"ok lukey. i love you sweetie, ill see you soon,"

"love you too ma,"

Since they celebrated their birthdays on New Year's Eve, Shira and Leah invited their friend, River, and their cousin, Theo, to a small get together. And the sisters celebrated the new year at midnight with their parents.

Because this is not a legacy, this is where this particular save ends. Noa, Enele, Tamar, and Miri are all in good places in their lives, so we're gong to say goodbye to them. I plan to write a story about Shiri and Leah's adventures with Theo and River, but I'm pressing pause for the moment because I've got a lot going on. TO BE CONTINUED.

Originally part of the Calaveras, Elias Navarez saw 8 year old Evelia Torres about to die in a witch burning. He killed everyone who was part of it and then adopted her, defecting from the Calaveras and started his own hunting organization. Originally just Calaveras defectors, the group grows to include other hunters, supernatural creatures, and even some ordinary humans, and the group grows into a family.
