when you stop and think about it it’s actually ridiculously funny how obsessed w/ ailette tesilid is. like they met twice in the tutorial period, once when they were 10 or something and another time a decade later. ailette saves him twice and shows him Human Kindness (shocking!!1!) and THEN a hundred lifetimes come and go in the blink of an eye, and the only memories tes has of ailette are from 8million years ago and are hella hazy. and YET.
maybe this is a testament to how starved tesilid was for pure human connection. to be able to exist outside the strict gaze of order and goodwill, even with just one person. to be saved, deemed worth saving; to not be seen as a tool but a living, breathing person.
to pick up his sword not for the sake of the world, but for the sake of his world.

i think it's incredibly funny how, even after everything, reed takes it for granted that ailette cares for him and is meant to be by his side. same vibes as when he was 14 and said "we'll definitely meet again, we have matching skills" and hestio & ephael went speechless. okay, loverboy.

My favorite thing about Ailette and Tesilid is that for once, he's not the strongest character. The one to depend on. The one who has to save the world. When Ailette is around, he doesn't have to sacrifice so much. He gets the luxury of being selfish, being weak. Finally, he can depend on someone else without worrying that they'll betray him or get hurt.
He's spent so long going through everything alone- I'm glad that he finally has someone he can turn to.

Thinking of how Ailette’s first order of business when the 17th round starts is to rescue the villagers and then rescue Terry. I didn’t think about it too much originally but wasn’t Ailette taking chances here that Tesilid wouldn’t make it before she got there? Like Tesilid maybe did in a sense not make it which is why we have 117th Tesilid instead of 17th Tesilid. Did she simply think she would have enough time according to her knowledge from the book? It’s true Ailette also does care about civilians, but I’m wondering if another reason she does this is for Reed’s sake and to prevent Reed from having killed people.

Alright, strap in for the lie of the decade So I got this ask
Tumblr media
So I think; “well what’s this all about?” I open it up and its this pretty quoted interview, so I’m like “huh so what’s ‘oh boy’ about this? Then I start to read. AND OH BOY.
I think most people who look into Fate/Apocrypha have heard of this interview with Nasu and Higashide. If you haven’t; here is a quick run down of its contents.
Tumblr media
Written out; if the image is annoying to read:
Trivia from interview with Kinoko Nasu, Takeshi Takeuchi, Konoe Ototsugu & Yuichiro Higashide. (Source from Comptiq, Newtype and etc). - The ligh novel was greenlit by Nasu, as supervisor, Higashide as writter and Konoe as illustrator art. - David, St.George, Kintoki Sakata & Musashibo Benkei were scrapped by Kinoko Nasu’s idea. - Nasu said these servants doesn’t fit into plot and they were replaced by four new servants instead. - Chiron, Avicebron & Achilles were designed by Takeuchi & Nasu, illustrated by Konoe in charge of character design. - Mordred is the culture of festival achievement thanks from TYPE MOON fanbase. - Addition of Mordred into F/A was Takeuchi’s idea and Nasu agreed. - Mordred was orginally to be male but Nasu feel that having two male characters look feminine (the other being Astolfo) would be too much. - However, Mordred as a male was not Nasu’s claim of actual fact. In truth, Nasu didn’t decided for final Mordred’s gender since Fate/Stay Night until Fate/Apocrypha. Which mean Mordred was “genderless” in F/SN. - After the project of online game was scrapped, Nasu said that all servants are too ridiculous powerful and might bored if the player’s powerful servant was facing against other player’s powerful servant. It’s like a hax. - The online game was based on Infamous 2’s gameplay style. - Nasu & Takeuchi were laughing about more Saber clone. In fact, Mordred is the real clone of Saber (Altria), so the wish has come true for those people who still saying about Saber clone. - Karna is Nasu’s favorite servant. Karna’s popularity has been skyrocket thanks to Fate/Extra CCC. - Astolfo is Konoe’s favourite servant. He is symbol mascot of Fate/Apocrypha. Higashide can’t even tell if this is comfortable or not since Astolfo is dude. - Yggdmillennia, Sisigou & Kotomine Shirou were planned by Nasu, Takeuchi & Higashide. - Higashide wrote all Sisigou, Reika & Black camp’s character development, while Homunculus, Kotomine Shirou & four new servants’s character development was already written by Nasu. - Nasu said that Shirou is basically a character who look to have “light outside and darker inside” personality. Uncanny different trait from Kirei. - Homunculus (Sieg) was Nasu & Takeuchi’s idea. Nasu wanted introduce male homunculus in Fate series for the first time. - Takeuchi & Konoe said Homunculus looks cute but dense person. - Takeuchi stated Homunculus & Jeanne are his new favorite characters, along with Altria. - Interviewer mention about why Takeuchi like Homunculus. He reply "It’s a secret" due it will trigger the spoiler. - Jeanne is based on real french student girl according to Takeuchi. She was at same college where Takeuchi studied, before he met someone as model of Arcueid Brunestud’s design from Tsukhime come to his mind. - The difference between Altria & Jeanne is sex appeal. Which is already explained in TYPE MOON April Fool 2012, where Heroine X (Altria) in furious when she heard that Jeanne’s sex appeal is better than her. - Tsukihime is Higashide’s favorite visual novel. - Nasu stated homunculus like Mordred can summoned as Heroic Spirit despite not human being. - The rules of magecraft in Apocrypha universe are same as in Fate/Stay Night & Fate/Zero except that there is no rule of Ruler classes. - Ruler’s duty is protect the Holy Grail and oversee the battle. - Interviewer asked Nasu & Higashide about why Jeanne hijack Leticia’s body rather than ritual summon. Nasu stated it was something broke the rule of HGW and corrupted the system. - Nasu mention the first servant who hijack human body is Avenger, Angra Mainyu from Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. Who control Emiya Shirou’s body and mind since he has no body but void form. The theory that come from Rin Tohsaka was correct. - Roa from Tsukihime was also can hijack the human body (Ciel & Tohno SHIKI) but reincarnation soul while he was in Akasha. - Nasu & Higashide admit it was silly idea in the first place. But they wanted Jeanne to have some disadvantages/weakness for herself due she was powerful servant and might kinda “boring” if she summoned as spirit form. (Avoid fan calling her a mary sue). - Which mean any servant can hijack the human body while in critical condition but it's rarely. - Karna’s background story has been altered in comparison to his original myth in Mahabrarat. This means, Karna is Nasu!Karna, not Myth!Karna which we know. - The rule of summoning Ruler is who can guide the war during in his/her past and a sainthood(?) as specific condition. Only one Ruler class is summoned in one war. The this system works in Apocrypha universe only. - St.George was remove because of this. Karna, however he refuse refer himself a saint and a killing machine who can kill God, summoned as Lancer class instead. - The Greater Grail force summon the servant as Ruler when met the condition completed. - If Jeanne is summoned in different universe without rules of Ruler, her class will be obviously Saber. She still will be summoned as Ruler if the mishap of war affected the result in different universe. - Jeanne was first mention in Kara no Kyoukai’s light novel reference: Mikiya Kokutou mentions her when he was discussing about Heroic Spirits who utilized the power of the Counter Force. - While the design for Jeanne wasn’t made during the production of the Fate/Zero novels, the design was completed around the time of the anime adaptation.
This translation was provided by @/ shinichameleon - who, in fact, is still pretty active in this fandom. They still post to this day. Now; what’s wrong with this? Well most importantly, Mahabharata is misspelled- no I’m joking that’s not the most important.
Most importantly is This interview is a lie.
https://web.archive.org/web/20151107012557/http://shinichameleon.tumblr.com/post/62039911382/fateapocrypha-vol2-translation-of-detail
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the interview being claimed has this information. But - this is an interview by Higashide ALONE after Apoc Vol. 2 was releasing. Nasu isn’t in this interview. At all. So; is there *any* interview with Nasu & Higashide? Yes; in Type Moon Ace 8. But that was *before* Apoc began its release so none of this information would have been there. So; maybe its another one? Well, as Petrikow on Fate/Apocrypha Free Range Spoiler thread discovered; no archivist has listed any other interview with both of them. Well what about the rest of the post? Seems like information is just from the product itself, not any interview. But why does this matter? Well; because this user, Shinichameleon has a rather ...unsavory reputation.
In addition this this set; they’ve also posts a supposed new route for the Ufortable adaptation.  Which....is blatantly untrue as we’ve seen. But then so this person lies about fate stuff (and gets it circulated for a decade), so what? Well they’ve also got banned from fate reddit(s) for posting false information. This includes falsely claiming Japanese Mordred and Semiramis fans hated each other; than Semiramis was hated in JP, KR, and CN fan bases after vol.4,5, and 6. They also tried to pull something similar with summer Ibuki, which is also proven not reliable at all through machine translation, using their own opinion as proof of character popularity, taking people out of context, and genuinely bringing bad fate (heh) arguments. But what else have they done? Completely make up information about Kiara Sessyoin?? Yep. They completely made up info.
Tumblr media
“According from Kinoko Nasu & Takeuchi Takashi in EXTRA Material, Kiara Sessyoin is not her real name. Her real name is Inoriara Sessyoin and her actual age is late twenties. She was born as the daughter of true mantra of Tachikawa yo Tennaga, but she was bedridden and didn’t existed until at the age of 14 because she was sickly by birth. She was caught in commandments, that for their own “pitiable” appearance of the surrounding people who didn’t know it saves by saying, a pure human’s image that existed in the story vanished too.
At the age of 14, the believer was told by a doctrine of spirit hacking, her sickness recovers in a moment completely unknown to the outside. However, it accompanies along missing people and the dead increased suddenly, and she was completely denied in the presence level to the father who became aware of the accident, the reason “Though she is a woman, I am seeking to become one with that woman”, he  denied to realize it, then expelled on suspicions of violating two taboos of the Tachikawa Style. To that morrow, she takes away the father’s skull principal image, states “the master is deprived of technique tools” the last taboo was broken with this, the killer match of the believer, it left from all religious organizations that had become the dead, excluding her.
Afterwards, though she has saved the believers’ belief of the Tachikawa Style, the believe who became loved dearly was said to committed suicide one after another for her. In addition, she was put on the wanted list by the Western Europe plutocracy for the exploitation of code cast of the electronic brain, the maximum taboo in history.
Also she can fights and take down an average human nor a weak servant by her own potential without her final boss form. Just look at this video and count how many skills she got (Spoiler alert). And she is the first person who awakes ORT from eternal slumber....according from Koha Ace. Are you for real Keikenchi? “ So; fun fact -- none of this is true. It’s all made up. Oh; but you know what’s the MOST infruitating? “ The difference between Altria & Jeanne is sex appeal. Which is already explained in TYPE MOON April Fool 2012, where Heroine X (Altria) in furious when she heard that Jeanne’s sex appeal is better than her. “
THIS IS FAKE. THE FUCKING SEX APPEAL DIFFERENCE IS FAKE. You know the shit about Siegfried and Semiramis having a different artist and copyright issues with that is probably fake too. Anyways; what does this all mean? WE need to fucking recheck probably a good chunk of things we’re spreading around in this fandom. It also means that a lot of information on the Fandom wiki is likely straight up false (not surprising) which can mean its absolutely *useless* for lore referencing for *anyone*. This is for the English speaking side of the fandom so far; so; yeah. This is pretty fucked. Shinichameleon is now posting in danganronpa reddits so; I guess look out danganronpa fans.

A Brief Honor Mode Reflection 🎆
Hello!! Now that I've beaten BG3's HM (on Patch 6, Hotfix 19), I am here to share my builds (and a mini retrospective). 🥳👋
My team relied on stealth, a few instances of barrelmancy, and some amoral choices... 😔 But we did not use any illithid powers!
I did not have a main party and instead swapped characters out depending on the situation. I did my best to remember how combat encounters played out, and prepared accordingly! If I was really worried about an encounter, I tried to follow these awesome guide videos from YouTuber neek. 😁
(Possible spoilers ahead!)
Party Builds
Tumblr media
The party that I brought to the final battle against the Netherbrain! A lot of white hair, lol.
Unfortunately, I don't remember my party's exact stats and I can't go into an old save to find them (haha) so I'll do my best to remember their key traits/items here.
All of my party members took the Alert Feat at Level 8! I consider this feat key, if not necessary, to winning Honor Mode.
Tav (Asa): 12 Monk, Way of the Open Hand (Drow)
20 STR / 14 DEX / 23 CON / 8 INT / 16 WIS / 10 CHA
Tavern Brawler Feat
Helldusk Armor
Gloves of Soul Catching
Amulet of Greater Health
Haste Helm
Boots of Uninhibited Kushigo
I got Asa to 20 STR by starting her off with 17 STR, using her Level 4 feat to take Tavern Brawler (+1), then pressuring Astarion for Araj Oblodra's potion (+2). (😭)
A Way of the Open Hand Monk is a superb DPR hitter that can also apply handy conditions to bosses, such as Stunned or Prone. It's a popular class with powergamers, and for good reason!! Personally, I really like it because I can pretend to be a wuxia heroine, haha.
Gale: 12 Wizard, Abjuration School
I don't remember his exact stats unfortunately, but I prioritized INT (20), DEX, and CON.
Robe of the Weave
Markoheshkir
Viconia's Walking Fortress
Gloves of Belligerent Skies
Boots of Stormy Clamor
Psychic Spark
Abjuration Wizard can hugely increase your chances at survival with Arcane Ward. My party was basically invincible by the time we reached Level 10, thanks to Gale's Arcane Ward and Shadowheart's Warding Flare!
I had Gale carry the Spellsparkler staff for basically all of Acts 1 and 2. I'm a huge fan, especially when combo-ing it with Magic Missile. 😁
Astarion (Vampire Ascendant): 4 Rogue (Thief) / 6 Ranger (Gloom Stalker) / 2 Fighter
See my build guide for Ascended Astarion! I followed that, but took his last two levels in Fighter rather than sticking with Ranger. Fighter's Action Surge came in handy a few times.
I forewent the Alert Feat on Astarion in favor of an ASI (+2 to DEX). His Initiative was already very high due to Gloom Stalker Ranger's Dread Ambusher.
Alongside my Tav (Asa), Astarion was easily doing the most DPR.
Shadowheart: 12 Cleric, Light Domain
I have a proper build guide in the works 😁 but I highly recommend prioritizing WIS, CON, and DEX if you can!
Amulet of the Devout
Luminous Armor
Luminous Gloves
Boots of Striding
Selûne's Spear of Night
Ketheric's Shield
Callous Glow Ring
Coruscation Ring
This build does highly rely on Radiant Damage, and there are a few enemies who punish you for using Radiant Damage (ie. the Undead Justiciars, Raphael, Viconia) - so be careful about where you're using her and how!
In most cases (especially with Invisible enemies), I had Shadowheart start by dropping a Radiance of the Dawn among clustered enemies. Thanks to her gear, this delivered a mass output of Radiant Damage and Radiating Orbs.
EDIT: Guide completed and posted on March 2, 2024!
Wyll: 12 Warlock, The Fiend, Pact of the Blade
See my build guide for Fiend Bladelock Wyll!
Unfortunately, the gear in the above guide ended up overlapping with other characters :') So instead of being a frontliner in this run, he was largely Eldritch Blasting and acting as the Party Face. As such, I had him in the following:
Potent Robe
Hat of the Sharp Caster
Daredevil Gloves
Envoy's Amulet
Band of the Mystic Scoundrel
Ring of Arcane Synergy
Lae'zel: 12 Paladin, Oath of Vengeance
Lae'zel was sadly kidnapped and killed by Orin. 😞 So her build isn't as complete, but I had her in the following for most of Acts 1 and 2:
Adamantine Splint Armor
Sussur Greatsword ➡️ Soulbreaker Greatsword
Crusher's Ring
Gloves of the Growling Underdog
Like my Tav (Asa) and Astarion, I would bring in Lae'zel when I needed an extra heavy DPR hitter! Paladins are a very powerful class if you don't mind Long Resting often, especially in the early game before you get Extra Attack on martials at Level 5.
Retrospective
To be honest, I'd already beaten the game five times (oops! 🥲) before completing my Honor Run. 😆 So I had a huge leg up just by virtue of remembering which encounters were where, and what was the best way to beat them! IMO, Foreknowledge, Initiative, and Stealth/Surprise are king in Honor Mode.
I also followed some tips that I normally find overly tedious:
Donate gold to traders to get better prices when buying + more gold when selling.
Meticulously collect camp supplies and barrels, especially smokepowder barrels.
Stock up on Invisibility Potions in case you need to Flee a combat.
Stock up on Strength Potions (Hill Giant, Cloud Giant) for your Strength-based builds, so you can prioritize other Ability Scores - particularly in the early game.
Always try to initiate combat with Surprise if you can.
Make good use of Shadowheart's buff spells!! I don't know why I never used Enhance Ability and Calm Emotions before this, haha!
Get two Hirelings through Withers: one Transmutation Wizard and one Cleric. The wizard was our camp alchemist, and the cleric was our camp buffer (Heroes' Feast, Freedom of Movement, upcasted Aid).
I even cut a deal with Philomeen for her Runepowder Vial then entered turn-based mode to kill her before she could flee the scene, thus securing the Runepowder Barrel as well. 😭
Sadly, I very much set aside my moral code for this run. :') Astarion got the extremely, extremely short end of the stick 😞 - and unfortunately, so did Wyll. 😭 I broke his pact with Mizora, but instead of rescuing his father and properly closing out Wyll's companion quest, I skipped the Iron Throne and Wyrmway quests... (I did not like my chances against the Steelwatch and Ansur...)
So, after fully building my party, we ended up briefly allying with Gortash (IYKYK haha) and heading straight for the Brain. Orpheus was our team's Mind Flayer.
The items I brought with me to the final Brain fight include:
4 Elixirs of Psychic Resistance
8 Potions of Flying (though I only ended up using 4)
10 Potions of Invisibility (though I only ended up using 5)
5 scrolls of Globe of Invulnerability (I only used 1, LOL)
10 Potions of Speed (I only used 2)
8 scrolls of Disintegrate ⭐
I will let you figure out what I did with those. 😁 (Unless you'd like to see my full strat, in which case I may post that later!)
Hope this helped anyone who's planning to attempt Honor Mode!! YOU'VE GOT THIS! 👏 Panic is the mindkiller in this version of the game, so just keep a level head, check your inventory before ending your turn, and read the BG3 Wiki (especially when facing bosses), haha - and you'll be a-okay 🥳🎆 !
Best of luck! 🍀✨

Oh yeah. There was a lot of that sort of lying about interviews with a bunch of jp media usually shipping related. Though with Pokémon it was often about unreleased/upcoming content that got disproven quickly since it’s just so massive a franchise.
so i dont know about pokemon related stuff or shipping although from what i've heard since the person in question got banned from the fate subreddit they've since moved on to dangan ronpa so maybe they talk about it there but in regards to fate theyve made a lot of claims like
The light novel was greenlit by Nasu, as supervisor, Higashide as writter and Konoe as illustrator art.
David, St.George, Kintoki Sakata & Musashibo Benkei were scrapped by Kinoko Nasu’s idea.
Nasu said these servants doesn’t fit into plot and they were replaced by four new servants instead.
Chiron, Avicebron & Achilles were designed by Takeuchi & Nasu, illustrated by Konoe in charge of character design.
Mordred is the culture of festival achievement thanks from TYPE MOON fanbase.
Addition of Mordred into F/A was Takeuchi’s idea and Nasu agreed.
Mordred was orginally to be male but Nasu feel that having two male characters look feminine (the other being Astolfo) would be too much.
However, Mordred as a male was not Nasu’s claim of actual fact. In truth, Nasu didn’t decided for final Mordred’s gender since Fate/Stay Night until Fate/Apocrypha. Which mean Mordred was “genderless” in F/SN.

The online game was based on Infamous 2’s gameplay style.
Nasu & Takeuchi were laughing about more Saber clone. In fact, Mordred is the real clone of Saber (Altria), so the wish has come true for those people who still saying about Saber clone.
Karna is Nasu’s favorite servant. Karna’s popularity has been skyrocket thanks to Fate/Extra CCC.
Astolfo is Konoe’s favourite servant. He is symbol mascot of Fate/Apocrypha. Higashide can’t even tell if this is comfortable or not since Astolfo is dude.
Yggdmillennia, Sisigou & Kotomine Shirou were planned by Nasu, Takeuchi & Higashide.
Higashide wrote all Sisigou, Reika & Black camp’s character development, while Homunculus, Kotomine Shirou & four new servants’s character development was already written by Nasu.

Takeuchi & Konoe said Homunculus looks cute but dense person.
Takeuchi stated Homunculus & Jeanne are his new favorite characters, along with Altria.
Interviewer mention about why Takeuchi like Homunculus. He reply "It’s a secret" due it will trigger the spoiler.
Jeanne is based on real french student girl according to Takeuchi. She was at same college where Takeuchi studied, before he met someone as model of Arcueid Brunestud’s design from Tsukhime come to his mind.
The difference between Altria & Jeanne is sex appeal. Which is already explained in TYPE MOON April Fool 2012, where Heroine X (Altria) in furious when she heard that Jeanne’s sex appeal is better than her.
Tsukihime is Higashide’s favorite visual novel.
Nasu stated homunculus like Mordred can summoned as Heroic Spirit despite not human being.
The rules of magecraft in Apocrypha universe are same as in Fate/Stay Night & Fate/Zero except that there is no rule of Ruler classes.
Ruler’s duty is protect the Holy Grail and oversee the battle.
Interviewer asked Nasu & Higashide about why Jeanne hijack Leticia’s body rather than ritual summon. Nasu stated it was something broke the rule of HGW and corrupted the system.
Nasu mention the first servant who hijack human body is Avenger, Angra Mainyu from Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. Who control Emiya Shirou’s body and mind since he has no body but void form. The theory that come from Rin Tohsaka was correct.
Roa from Tsukihime was also can hijack the human body (Ciel & Tohno SHIKI) but reincarnation soul while he was in Akasha.
Nasu & Higashide admit it was silly idea in the first place. But they wanted Jeanne to have some disadvantages/weakness for herself due she was powerful servant and might kinda “boring” if she summoned as spirit form. (Avoid fan calling her a mary sue).
Which mean any servant can hijack the human body while in critical condition but it's rarely.
Karna’s background story has been altered in comparison to his original myth in Mahabrarat. This means, Karna is Nasu!Karna, not Myth!Karna which we know.
The rule of summoning Ruler is who can guide the war during in his/her past and a sainthood(?) as specific condition. Only one Ruler class is summoned in one war. The this system works in Apocrypha universe only.
St.George was remove because of this. Karna, however he refuse refer himself a saint and a killing machine who can kill God, summoned as Lancer class instead.
The Greater Grail force summon the servant as Ruler when met the condition completed.
If Jeanne is summoned in different universe without rules of Ruler, her class will be obviously Saber. She still will be summoned as Ruler if the mishap of war affected the result in different universe.
Jeanne was first mention in Kara no Kyoukai’s light novel reference: Mikiya Kokutou mentions her when he was discussing about Heroic Spirits who utilized the power of the Counter Force.
While the design for Jeanne wasn’t made during the production of the Fate/Zero novels, the design was completed around the time of the anime adaptation.
most of which are straight up fabricated (one of the main things being the interview they source only talks to higashide and not nasu, and none of the points mentioned in this list are mentioned in said interview), banking on people not being able to read the interviews they source. other lies they've circulated include shimousa and heian kyo being unpopular in the jp fanbase (despite consitently polling well on jp sites) and more recently claiming that they also hated ibuki douji (which also seemed to be a catalyst for getting them banned on reddit). this isnt the only misinfo theyve been spreading and they were at it for over 10 years, and it's all over the fgo wiki
if you're interested about wtf this all is you can see some of the info about it here

Hi! How would you describe the dynamic between Alfonso and Lila, and how in your opinion Lila sees Alfonso? He is one of the few character in Lila's life that I've not really understand, and I remember that you have written some post about him, so I thought I could ask your opinion on his relationship with Lila.
I am finally on vacation so I can answer this with the attention and care it deserves!
LILA AND ALFONSO - THE (QUEER) FRIENDSHIP THAT HAPPENS OFF-SCREEN
[Warning: SPOILERS for book 4 of MBF. Also warning: Massive post. Read it with coffee or tea].
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So! What do we know about those two? Lila is our beloved, the Heroine of the 1,000 Faces, someone you can read as cruel or kind, mischievous or honest, intuitive or logical, and it all makes sense because she's all that and more.
Alfonso is our only (open) LGBTQ+ Representative in Town and thus his portrayal is more stereotypical. As MBF aspires to be an all-encompassing tour of the greatest movements and ideologies of the Twentieth Century (the saga is truly as humble as its two main characters), there is a character who stands as a representative of each of them. For example, Mariarosa stands for the women's rights movements (all of them) and the sexual revolution of the 60's-70's. Pasquale stands for communism, class consciousness and resistance to state mechanisms (quite a lot to stand for as well). Lila and/or Lenù will be more or less influenced by all of these movements without ever labeling themselves as anything.
Alfonso stands for the then-called gay liberation movement and social rights. He's one of the very few men in the series who isn't a testosterone vessel with a traditional "masculine" role. He's soft and shy, a do-gooder, and as much of a people-pleaser as Lenù. He's intelligent and interested in languages, but he also has a hedonistic streak. He has some traits in common with Lenù, but without her ambition and perfectionism. He might arguably be what Lenù have resembled without Lila in her life.
Tumblr media
Alfonso and Lenù start a friendship on their teens, which is uncommon at the time, as no one expects a boy and a girl to be just friends. They talk a lot, enjoy each other's company and sit together in class. Lenù finds Alfonso very handsome (1) and wonders whether there's anything more on his side. Lenù being Lenù, I'm guessing that she wasn't exactly difficult to read, and that might've made Alfonso a bit wary. He already has another girl friend, Marisa Sarratore, who expects more of him and whom he initially uses as a cover - two may have been too much.
At the same time, Lila is now Stefano's young wife, and this has probably started a new dynamic between Alfonso and Lila, even if it's just because they are family. We know that Lenù comes up often in their conversation, e.g., when Lila asks Alfonso to bring Lenù to her place so she will have a place to study. This will be the model of their whole relationship - Lila commands, Alfonso obeys. Still, there seems to be a growing intimacy between them, even if Lila is mostly interested in passing messages to Lenù through him at this time.
Tumblr media
When Lila creates her own "artwork" and hangs it on the shoe shop, Alfonso is mesmerized (this happens on the book only). He happily kisses her cheeks and claims, "I always knew you were dangerous". I love the subtext of this scene. What Lila has done with her own picture is an act of deconstructing her body. She's ripping open her heteronormative self (literally dressed as a bride) and creating something different out of the pieces. The result is defiant, seductive, an image that is both vanguardistic and excessive, and all the straight-coded characters feel immediately threatened and repulsed by it. This is the blood and bone of the queer and most specifically the transgender experience; what Lila has done in a bout of rage/enthusiasm has an extremely queer reading just because of the act itself (2). Hence Alfonso, who is probably starting to find out who he is on that side of the town, is telling her: "You and I are birds of a feather! I always knew!".
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At that point, Lila claims not to understand Alfonso's words, but she surely knows that Alfonso is Different, Not Like Other Men, and that he's reluctant to Behave As Expected with women. Lila is trying hard to conform to the rione's standards as Stefano's wife and she's finding it very difficult to Behave As Expected, both in and out of the bedroom. The idea that she may somehow be like Alfonso, someone who can't fit in because of who he is, may be very discouraging for her.
Alfonso: "We were two strange bodies inside the Carracci family".
So Lila is the first one to start cheering and clapping when Marisa kisses Alfonso on Rino and Pinuccia's wedding, a situation that was clearly embarrassing for him. We already know that Lila can be mean when she's annoyed, so I'm guessing that this was done on purpose. Not much later she will admit to Lenù that she was wrong - without specifying what was so wrong with her behavior that day (3). It is also suggested that Lila may have contributed to spreading the rumors about Alfonso being gay - we'll never know.
Despite these hardships, Lila and Alfonso's relationship evolves (because Alfonso is a cookie and won't stay mad at her), and at some point they have a conversation that gets more intimate than the others: he comes out to her as "ricchione" (4). They don't talk about queer sensibilities or gender questioning yet, only about attraction. Lila is the first person he discusses this at length with, though he's most likely had some experiences with men before.
It's not clear when this happens. My best guess is when Lila and Alfonso kind of overlap at the shoe shop. At this time, Alfonso is contemplating whether he should marry Marisa, while Lila is involved in an all-consuming affair with Nino (without Lenù to talk to). Love is a bit of an Achilles' heel for Lila; we know that affection makes her vulnerable. Did she and Alfonso have a heart-to-heart in the shop? Did Lila only listen, or did she also share any secrets in exchange? I can definitely picture them in intense conversation when alone and then playing siblings-in-law in the company of others. Consider also that when Alfonso looks back to this event, it's with a sense of hope and relief, and he seems to know Lila pretty well afterwards (5). Whatever Lila said, it wasn't judgmental - she probably encouraged him to do whatever the fuck he wanted. Lila is usually more cautious, so this reinforces my idea that she was living her romance with Nino at the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As stereotypical as it may be, there is a classic dynamic in the friendship between a girl and a gay guy - for him, she might be easier to forge a connection with, and for her, he might be a gate to a different sensibility. This may have been the case for Lila and Alfonso (6). The burgeoning friendship may have come as a relief for both of them, but especially for Lila, who is trapped in a heteronormative world, sexualized by everyone and almost always chased by men. Alfonso looks up to her and finds her gorgeous, but he doesn't want to sleep with her, and it's not just the looks he admires - he wants the attitude, the whole personality, and unlike Lenù, he openly recognizes this effect that Lila has on him. This naïveté may have been very touching to Lila, who is, at the bottom of her heart, pretty hungry for acceptance and unconditional love.
However, Alfonso is unwilling to help Lila in any way that may be confrontational for his family or his employers (probably scared that they would turn onto him as well), and that tiny bit of a "relief through nice conversations when alone :)" is not enough. Thankfully she has Lenù Enzo, who proves to be (mostly) the only one who is willing to risk his life for her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alfonso: "If I'd been born a woman, I'd have wanted to be like her".
When Alfonso decides to take Michele's "advice" and marry Marisa, he's probably already very taken with Michele - he tells that to Lila not much later. To Lila, this is extremely helpful, as she's already planning how to get the most out of Michele without having to become his lover. As much as Lila loves certain people, she also harvests utilitarian relationships, especially within the rione. The plan they come up with seems to benefit both of them - Alfonso gets Michele, Lila gets Michele's money and influence.
The "seduction" of Michele comes with Alfonso dressing as a woman and adjusting her appearance more and more to look like Lila. It's not just a trick, but a true desire of Alfonso's, who is uncomfortable with his appearance and wants to look more womanly. It's never clear whether Alfonso is actually transgender or not, and I have found a lot of confusion in MBF-related texts. In favor of this idea, the narrative seems to be encouraging the fact that (s)he has "a woman's soul", and it is said that (s)he refers to her/himself in feminine form at times (Lenù changes forms a couple of times in her mind when she sees how much (s)he's changed). Many people that we consider transgender now didn't self-identify as such at the time. However, the queer community has always mixed up gender identities; also, Alfonso never seems to go by any other name, something that would clearly represent her/his rebirth as her/his new female-presenting self. To me, Alfonso seems to be embracing gender fluidity as a traditional feminiello, but that's the problem of standing for all the LGBTQ+ letters in one single character. For clarity reasons, I will keep on referring to him as a "he", though it might be more accurate to use other forms.
At the beginning, Lila seems to have her reluctancies with this process of Alfonso, as if this new persona of his could be no more than a grotesque imitation of a woman from a man's point of view ("you can copy me but my shit will always be mine"). HOWEVER! Just as Lila changed her mind regarding Being Queer, she quickly drops the terfy mindset, gets into the gist of Alfonso's Makeover and becomes collaborative (one cannot use the world "enthusiastic" when it comes to Lila).
This change of mind is not surprising, as both Lila and Lenù love games and they are very much attracted by the queer narratives of transforming/becoming ("diventare"). There is this scene where Alfonso, Lila and Lenù are shopping for clothes. Lila chooses (women's) clothes for Alfonso as if they were for her, and Alfonso, in turn, tries them out as if he was her. The fact that even the shop owner is a "ricchione" emphasizes the playfulness and queerness of the scene, where everyone seems to be having a lot of fun except for Lenù, who is a bit awkward. If people tend to see Lila as less heteronormative than Lenù, it's because of these scenes - because even if Lila never does much herself, and even without direct contact with any kind of world but her small neighborhood, she seems to be potentially willing to partake in stuff that leads her off the paved path (7).
Tumblr media
Still, Lila being Lila, she always treats Alfonso with a sense of superiority, like she can boss him around and dispose of his time as she wants, especially when he becomes her and Enzo's employee at Basic Sight. She jokes that Michele is chasing "the shadow of [her] shadow" (meaning Alfonso). This treatment of Alfonso by Lila isn't much different from the way Lila treats almost everyone, including Lenù, who is often irritated by her domineering ways. Lila seems to follow a similar pattern with most of the people she loves - treat with contempt first, panic afterwards if they seem too tired of her, and quit everything and help if they are in need.
But I get annoyed at the narrative at this point because the purpose of the seduction is to make a puppet of Michele by making him do TEH G4Y. This leaves Michele confused, though this version of his actually seems much nicer. But he's watered down, less of a man now; he's gone "crazy". I get that passion makes you do irrational things -take both Lila and Lenù with Nino-, but the way this relationship is handled gives me the creeps. The fact that Alfonso and Michele are the only two characters openly DOING TEH G4Y, while the two leads often walk down the border of the THOUGHTS OF TEH G4Y but never come down to "doing" anything, seems to recall a former time when the "4ctions" were the only thing that mattered for queerness, and it was OK to feverishly long for your friend as long as you never did anything about it (8).
When Michele finally manages to break up with Alfonso and gives him a brutal beating as a final gift, Alfonso is heartbroken. He starts not showing up at work, being gross and overtly sexual in front of the children (9), and seeming confused with her own male/female self. He basically crawls down the deep dark well of the G4Y, and, in essence, this stereotypical downfall matches Lila's. Alfonso also wants to run away from his own body (Lenù's words) and escape toxic masculinity, which in his case is also creeping from the inside. In the end, Alfonso dies, probably murdered by Marcello in retaliation for his involvement with his brother, as Alfonso himself had warned it would happen. So, in a way, it is toxic masculinity and corruption under the façade of respectability what gets him killed.
Tumblr media
Lenù: "She reached out to him as if he were a mirror to see herself and extract from his body a part of herself".
Lest aside the queerphobia of Alfonso's storyline, his strong bond with Lila remains (and, to a lesser extent, with Lenù). Lila could've fired Alfonso when he started being unreliable, but she didn't. On the contrary, she and Enzo supported him, even though he may have cost them precious money (10). When Alfonso is killed, Lila is heartbroken, to the point of neglecting her daughter for a while. Lenù realizes that her relationship with Alfonso must've been way more intense than what it seemed on the surface. This abounds in Alfonso's parallelisms with Lenù as some kind of "living matter" that Lila uses for the tasks that she can't (or won't) do herself, be it writing books or being openly queer fully changing her appearance so that it matches the inside. Also, Lila probably feels very guilty about Alfonso's demise for the role she played as the instigator of Alfonso's "feminization" and Michele's seduction (11).
What did Lila and Alfonso talk about when they were alone? Did she let herself be silly and have fun with him? Did she find in him the pure and simple adoration she once got from Lenù? Did she play him for her profit, or did she just play the role that Alfonso urged her to play? There are very few instances of "pure" friendship in My Brilliant Friend and I think we are all left a bit starved in that respect. I'd like to believe that Lila and Alfonso were probably friends in the purest sense of the word, each of them finding in the other a hand to reach out for, and the confidence to do the things you already want to do, in a strange world.
Phew, this was lengthy but fun! Who's next? Elena and Mariarosa? Lila and Pasquale? I'm up for all of them!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
---
(1) What a coincidence that Alfonso ends up resembling Lila!
(2) Lila, by the way, shares the execution of her queer artwork with a very willing Lenù, who picks up on the performative/playful nature of the act instinctively.
(3) Lenù complains of Lila being a pain in the ass and giving her trouble but she actually loves Lila being silently non-conforming and Not Traditionally Womanly, and rabidly dislikes when she acts like everyone else in the rione. She needs Lila to be the odd one out (instead of her) just as much as Lila needs Lenù to fit in and triumph in a male-dominated world (instead of her).
(4) "Ricchione", meaning both homosexual and queer, is the only word that Alfonso will ever use to describe himself.
(5) Alfonso is the only one (along with Lila's mom) who doesn't believe that Lila is with Lenù in Pisa when she runs away with Nino, so he may at least suspect that she had a lover.
(6) A similar dynamic may be at play with Lenù and Alfonso, with Lenù commenting that she felt like kneeling and confessing her more intimate thoughts to him.
(7) Lenù, thanks to her education, has potential access to way more nuanced environments than Lila, but she's reluctant to explore some of the most interesting ones (like the lesbian separatist movement Mariarosa's groups of women). It is worth mentioning, though, that she never questions Alfonso and believes that Lila made the woman in him come out.
(8) Though Michele gets de facto involved with Alfonso and Lenù's thoughts range from the vaguely sapphic to the blatantly sapphic, none of them are willing to associate themselves with anything queer. Lila doesn't count either, as queercoded as she may be. That draws a sharp line between Alfonso and the rest. If neither the feelings (Lila?) nor the thoughts (Lenù?) nor the actions (Michele?) count for being queer, I'm not sure I know where the difference is.
(9) Being vulgar and gross at times, as if speaking the truth but in a socially unbearable manner, and coming closer to a feared state of "craziness", is something that also happens to Lila.
(10) As if I couldn't love the guy more, Enzo is enraged at the fate of Alfonso to the point that he wants to confront Michele physically. Lila restrains him, worried about their daughter.
(11) When Michele is finally free of Alfonso's influence, he becomes an even more dangerous enemy for Lila's family. We all know what happens in book 4.

Beware The Villainess
“A refreshing, unique villainess who’s been dropped in the world of a novel, only to overthrow it all! The reason why? She couldn’t just stand by and watch the female lead be manipulated by all four shitty male leads. The story of a pragmatic villainess who intends to throw out all the jackasses, the friendly heroine who is equally miffed at said idiots, and a wolf that only yearns for her!”Genre(s): Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Romance, Shoujo Type: Manhwa Released: 2020
General: 3/5 stars for story, art and concept
For me: 4/5 stars until chapter 72ish then 3/5
Recommended for people who like fashion, full casts of attractive characters, fantasy, romance and strong FL
The villainess stories have been popping up all over lately and are already becoming a bit cliche in the same way most isekai are.
You typically have a goodie goodie replace someone who is supposed to be a villain in a story. They usually have a pretty strong motivation to be good so that they can avoid some terrible fate that they are aware of because they entered the world with prior knowledge of the characters.
I like the idea of the villains taking the main stage and self aware MC but there are the same tropes are reused each time for these:
The main character is brought into a wealthy and privileged home where they ignore all the rules that define their class, adhering to them only when it’s convenient for the story. (like refusing to follow rules until their rebelliousness would make certain events and plot points not happen. Like going to a ball they don’t want to attend or wearing outfits that they fought against wearing even though they already have ruined reputations for not wearing those outfits originally and would gain nothing from wearing them after the fact)
Having a small band of over powered outcast friends
All the characters being in love with the MC but the MC somehow not noticing at all because she’s too focused on fighting the plot or just ditsy.
The MC not knowing when she likes/loves someone because she’s never been in a relationship and so somehow that translate to not knowing when you like someone....somehow.
The characters not communicating vital information with each other that would help avoid easy misunderstanding.
These types of things aren’t a complete deal breaker because I liked most of the manga. But it started to drag on for me towards the end. It lost it’s edge for me at the kidnapping. And I forced myself to finish it after that out of curiosity.
Where it shined:
The comedy, art and the FL are a breath of fresh air! You will find yourself cheering for Melissa pretty early on. She’s hilarious and the faces they have her make are flawless. I had plenty of chuckles at her reactions.
The art was beautiful and the outfits was to die for. If I could tailor those outfits, I would. Anyone looking for inspiration should flip through this one to check them out!
Yona. She is the maid who is everything. She puts up with none of the bullshit without extra pay and refuses to get caught up in the mindless devotion all the other characters have towards the FL. Her attitude is endearing and I felt like the story would have been even better if she had been given more of a spotlight.
I loved the role reversals! It was so exciting seeing Melissa being so gallant! It gave me Revolutionary Girl Utena vibes but better because the outfits were so hot. I was obsessed with her strength and declarations towards her both Nine and Yuri. It was refreshing to see the men be emotional and delicate. The female prince and the male princess energy gave me life.
Beware, there will be spoilers but the heavy spoilers are at the end of this post. Tread lightly.
Where it fell flat for me
Yuri baiting. I love GL stories and I thought that Yuri had a chance with Melissa. I was sad to see her feelings being completely ignored. I was hoping that if they didn’t work out that maybe another girl might step in but that never happened and Yuri just kinda ended up loving Melissa from a distance. I thought it was shitty that the plot said that Melissa was fighting the story for Yuri’s sake but Yuri became an after thought. I would have liked some romantic tension between them or for them to acknowledge that they were both aware that they were in a story. Never happened.
OP besties trope is tired. It wasn’t really clear to me what awakening meant for the werewolves but having Nine awaken and suddenly being a match for his brother was nonsense to me. If he had become emotionally stronger instead of just getting a random power up, I would have respected it more. Standing up to his brother would have been a more powerful moment without it. Yuri is already supposed to be a super powerful magician and healer. It sucks that she was healer in general when every other character seemed to have flashier powers but even then she was OP which made her conveniently able to fill in any gaps in the story using her powers. I think that would have been more impactful if she wasn’t OP but instead her abilities were a result of her having memories from her past life. She remembered all the magic she learned and it accumulated into her having a surplus of magical knowledge and training. Yona was perfect as she was. She didn’t have any crazy powers or unreasonable hidden strength.
I didn’t like when the story started to get hypocritical and typical. Melissa gripped me because she was ready to fuck up the MLs for being shitty but she never gave them the chance to change. The reader watches them grow from her actions towards them but she wrote them all off even then. The only one who couldn’t be redeemed was Peacock because he was a monster. Watching the other boys trying to be better and seeing her continue to write them off stung a little. Especially since she was able to sympathize with the original Melissa even though that version of her never really changed, she just basically decided that dying and letting the new Melissa have her body was for the best since no one loved her. Melissa said that people didn’t get to be shitty just because they had a sad life but she only let that rule apply to the MLs.
I really wanted her to build a relationship with them but all she did was bully them into submission. Nine’s twin deserved it but after a while, I wanted her to have something other than just aggression. Carrot and stick style is more interesting to me than just stick after stick. It’s something that I see in teen novels a lot that I always hated. There’s always just OP characters or some ex machinga plot armor that protects them from the consequences of using your influence to crush someone else into submission. They make a point of gaining power only to use it in the same exact way that it was used against them. At someone point, OP aggression and bravado was all she used. Even in the final showdown with the god of the book world. I don’t even understand how she won.
Disclaimer: She doesn’t owe them shit and isn’t  responsible for their mental/emotional/physical well being. I just don’t like someone using abuse to counter abuse. It’s funny and well deserved at first but when they are trying to grow, they should be given the space to do that without the constant berating. Like she hated that her brother didn’t acknowledge her but when he kept trying to, she’d attack him. If he’s building the bridge that you acted like you wanted, then stop trying to burn it down!
Which brings me to the unanswered questions that took me out of the story. How did she beat the god? Why was she in that world? When she finally dies, won’t the story start over with the original cast and the original problems? Why does Yuri have any memories of her past lifetimes in the book when no other character does? If Yona is the one that god loves, then why does the god stay with Yuri for most of the story? Did the real Melissa just die or is she aware of current Melissa’s actions?
That last question made me really sad and opened my mind to how shitty it must be for all the villainess characters in this genre who lose their entire identity to some random person who usually ends up getting everything they wanted but couldn’t have because they were who they were made to be. It’s tragic and cruel in nature. I felt bad for original Melissa who had to realize that no one loved her and never would. They would only love the person who stole her body and life without every knowing that she was gone. Having her cheer on her body snatcher made it even sadder to me. I would love to read a comic that really dug into that.
SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO DON’T WANT TO READ IT BUT WANT TO KNOW HOW IT ENDS. SOME MATURE THEMES
For sure this manga has a happy ending. Melissa ends up becoming the duke (yes Duke) and becomes a popular celebrity and hero to all. She marries her werewolf companion, Nine, who has a big dick(the writer made this canon not me!) They have a child who isn’t there’s by blood but who they love dearly. They can’t have kids because they are different species so this is a nice alternative. She was noble’s child who was unwanted for not important reasons and kinda just tossed in one of the many epilogue stories.
Yuri falls in love with Melissa but Melissa never notices this. Yona and Nine do but they never bring it up to her. Nine because he’s jealous, Yona because she can’t be bothered.
We find out that Yona was going to be a Saint because she was “loved by god” but she didn’t want to take the position because she knew it was basically just her being a prisoner to the church her entire life. She meets Yuri for the first time her and gives her one of the two sacred crystals balls she found in the church. This allows them to stay in contact with each other, which they do for years even though Yona is very standoffish towards Yuri. A wizard who cares about the acting Saint wants to free them both but the ancient Saint refuses. He helps Yona escape and they stay together for a few years until he finally goes back for the Saint. She asks the wizard to kill her and he does which gets him arrested and stripped of his magic. All the money Yona has been gathering is to get him out of jail. We don’t know his ultimate fate since we never see her get him out or even tell her story to Melissa who could probably help.
(this really made me love Yona even more. She is the only character who is resolved to solve her issues on her own, but I still feel sorry that the person she cares about is in jail and how hard she has to work for his sake)
The MLs all end up with their destinies altered. The prince dude still become emperor, the werewolf ends up co-leader with Nine’s twin brother(the brother was supposed to die in the fight against Melissa but Melissa stopped Nine from killing him. I was hoping they would end up a couple -sigh-). Peacock gets out of jail but becomes a nonentity. Melissa’s brother stops being a stalker and just kinda does it job in-between mourning his gun.
They all are better people at the end (except Peacock).
The other couple is a female knight who teaches Melissa how to swordfight and Yuri’s older brother, who is also a high class magician. They are also a role reversed couple and are very very very cute. They end up getting married at the end of the manga.

The Perks of Being a Deus Ex Machina
Tumblr media
So I recently binged The Perks of Being An S-class Heroine/ A Transmigrator's Privilege and I need to talk about it or I'll implode.
I apologize in advance because this is gonna be a long post as I can't stop hyperfocusing on it and I need to scream into the void ([tumblr]).
This series honestly has one of my favorite uses of an overpowered MC in a while. I've also seen a lot of people complain about Ailette being too powerful and how much it hurts the story. I've only read until ch170 in the webnovel so I could be wrong but I don't think that's really the story they're trying to tell.
Ai is our main character but she's not the correct main character. She's so strong and gets so much help from the system that nothing poses a real threat to her. I can see how that could be boring for some people. But she was never supposed to be in this story. It's heavily implied that if Tesilid dies in her timeline, the whole world resets again without her ¹ (under spoilers) and it'll be like her version of Ai never existed (Manhwa ch31). It's not just about how well she can survive, it's also about how well she can protect Tesilid. Suddenly this story becomes an escort mission. She's Resident Evil 4 Leon and it's game over when Ashley dies. Or more aptly, she's Gandalf, trying to protect the self-sacrificing Frodo as he journeys to Mordor. It doesn't matter how powerful she is, if Tesilid dies anyways. She can't just leave him alone to kill the big bad on her own, either - Tez dies from like 500 different causes in the original story.
!! Webnovel spoilers under the cut !!
In my opinion, the story doesn't really start until Tesilid's regressions start (which probably won't be until s3 in the manhwa). For some people this is understandably too long. But it's really only a power fantasy during the tutorial period; when she finally gets to meet with (1)17th Tesilid, she turns into a walking Deus Ex Machina. It makes for an interesting dynamic imo, since Tez's powers are so restrictive and he has little choice but to be a self-sacrificing pushover. He even goes so far as to tank for her when he thinks she's about to take a killing blow. On the other hand, she’s all-powerful with a questionable sense of morality. It's like if Ai was Saitama (another Deus Ex!) but he dies if Mumen Rider dies. You know it'll all work out when they arrive, but it's incredibly tense if they're separated. It's cool to read a story from the protector's point of view for once- to see things from their perspective as they try to keep alive the main characters always running around trying to get themselves killed. Especially since we basically already know that there's virtually no way for Tesilid to succeed alone. Ailette has virtually all the power to help Tez and she thinks she knows how, but the farther we get into the story the more we learn that she probably doesn't understand as much as she thinks. Does she know how to end the loops? Or that Tesilid can loop again to a previous iteration? It's a mystery wrapped in power-fantasy skin.
¹ When Reed repeatedly kills Tez before the end of the tutorial, the whole world resets. This suggests that time in this universe revolves around Tesilid and it doesn’t flow for others if he’s dead.

“Dion.”
Your voice slightly cracked. You weren’t sure what was about to happen. Maybe he would kill you? Maybe one of you would betray the others?
“Come here, darling.”
You beckoned your finger to him. Would he help Lant off of the floor, and discard of you and your son?
The sound of his boots echoed the halls. He lightly kissed your hand. The feeling of his warm lips against your glove still managed to reach your skin.
“I am at your mercy.”
Roxana looked down at the both of you; How did you manage to tame her murderous older brother? It was above her.

Dion with a very beautiful s/o?? Kind of like Cayena Hill beautiful. Everyone in their family immediately accepted her because of how beautiful and confident she is. She attracted attention everywhere she went because of her beauty!
>Lets say your parents were friends with Maria, and your mother had brought you with her to Agriche for one of Maria's tea parties. (Before Ashil's death.)
>Maria saw you, and you were almost sure you could see stars in her eyes. She started complimenting you for your beauty almost immediately.
>Of course, you couldn't attend Maria's tea party, so she had Dion show you around Agriche, as she wanted you to come over often and be comfortable.(At the time, you only saw Maria as a pretty socialite.)
>Dion shut you out and did the bare minimum of showing you around, then left you on your own.
>Fast forward a few months, and after talking to Dion a lot, you both became friends.Although he had weird hobbies (showing you knives, giving dead animals as gifts) he was a close friend of yours.
>Maria then saw how you both were close, and how could she give up such a pretty daughter-in-law?Your mother had almost instantly said yes to the marriage proposal, and had you live at Agriche.
>When you met lant, he only said, "she would make good children.Put her in classes with Roxana."
>And now, you were a 14 year old learning how to dominate a man!! wow!!
>Life was going smoothly: daily classes on how to have kids, learning how to handle gore, and training with dion was how you spent your days.
>You had only talked to Dion, only sparing a few words to roxana, who stared at you with awe in classes. (For context, when roxana was a kid, it was mentioned that she adored beautiful things.)
>Until..The incident.
>When ashil failed the special test, Lant had you follow Dion into the room with a mask on.
>In front of you, he had killed his own sibling.
You had learned how to handle gore, and had never spared a single word to Ashil, but you felt bad for Sierra when Ashil was killed; she looked so broken.Sad.
>Fast forward a few years, and you had everybody in the household fawning over you.
>When you were younger, it was "she's so cute!" now it's "shes so hot."
>You had won over every single sibling in Agriche, and even had the title , 'future duchess.'
>Meeting Fontaine was the worst thing that could have happened to you.He had flirted with you, and had even blushed when you sent him disgusted scorns about how dion was better than him.
>As the proud future lady of agriche, you had many followers, and had won the favor of all of Lants wives.
>Now, here is where you found out that Maria wasn't all dresses and tea.
>She had shown you a doll, while you struggled to keep a straight face.
>Dion still likes you quite alot, and loves touching you.He gives many gifts and dresses that he thinks will suit you.
>Handsome dangerous husband x sexy dangerous wife = Dion x you
>although you werent able to participate in monthly tests due to you not being a born Agriche, you still had a seat next to Lant due to how obedient of a child you were.
>And when agriche fell, you couldnt even imagine Dion not taking your side to run away.
>(recent chap spoilers) and Dion grew even more fond of you when you defended him from lant <3

"My dear husband."
Tumblr media
You brushed your gloved finger against dions lips. Even through the glove, you felt the soft skin of your husbands lips.He was everything to you. Dion; your beloved, insane, rude, obsessive husband. You were sitting in his lap, legs around his waist facing him. Even though how he made sure you didnt get exposed to anything he deemed 'unruly' for you, as his sweet wife to see, or how he constantly killed any male who might have had the chance to become an intrest to you, your mind only went with the one thought:
"it's to protect me."
And every night, where he fucked you,bit you and cut you, your heart fluttered when he brought you closer to him. Just like tonight, actually.
"fuck." that was the only word your husband had said all night. He had ripped your dress, broken your corset, and smudged your lipstick. Your once pretty hair was now tangled and swayed with your movements on Dions lap. He had only been looking down at the way his cock slowly entered your slick-ridden cunt, and how you touched his face with the softest hands, as if you might break him.(who could break you with zero effort) He adored you.Wanted more of you.Without even realizing(realising) it himself, he pulled you closer, grabbed your hips making you go faster. You moaned at the change of position;his dick hitting your g-spot with rough thrusts.
.
Even after cleaning up, Dion still stuck by you.
If anything was to ever hurt you when he wasnt around, what would your dear husband do?

Remembering the scene where smol Terry grabbed Ai’s hand and asked insistently how she knows who he is…… And then Ai was like “YOU ARE HURT”
Awww It’s so cute that for Ai it’s
Terry’s wellbeing >>>>>>>>> everything else
(A bit spoiler for a very-very late chapters)
And the reason why Ai is against Reed’s plan to destroy the world isn’t only because her loved ones live here, but because it is bad for Reed too. He deserves a good, fulfilling life in a world that loves him. will only increase hatred towards him :c
