so glad i finally got to updating their designs.

bonus: previous designs under the cut!

Ripley was originally concepted in early to mid 2020, whilst at my grandmother's house for the weekend. These two pieces were made to help me brainstorm:

I am unsure if they had a name back then, as the current name Ripley was decided on just a few days ago when I remembered his existence. Essentially his whole story is that his trainer was abusive, and ditched him after his float was damaged, seeing him as useless.

As for Nova, a lot has changed from when I concepted her. I've swapped around design concepts a lot. Mostly relating to whether or not she should be shiny, as well as her chipped ear and emblem on the shoulder. None of which her current design has, as all those details were directly linked to her original backstory and lore.

The chip was what allowed her to shift back and forth between different evolutions; inspired by a similar eevee from the Pokémon Adventures manga.

(Just to clarify: she no longer has the ability to shape-shift, but instead to temporarily fuse with another Pokémon, effectively combining the adaptive elements of both an Eevee and Ditto together into a unique ability. )

The insignia on the shoulder was a mark of allegiance to her rebellion against the humans who wronged them. And her being shiny was just because I enjoyed the colors.

And then there are these last two designs. Also a remnant of the shape-shifting ability, I originally wanted her to be able to change into a super powered-up fusion of all the eeveelutions, as a sort of final form. But as I grew up and got more into the Fandom (as well as having my design torn to shreds by a Poketuber's Discord community), I realized the idea was too common, and decide to go for a new angle.

Both drawings below are redraws of an original drawing I made around age 7, which I still have today. The one on the left was an attempt to mimic the Ken Sugimori style, made around age 11. The one on the right was done sometime between 2020 and 2021.

Honestly I love looking back at my old art and adapting it to my new knowledge and experience. It's a like time capsule.

Oh, I also at one point recreated the design using Pokémon Mega Construx pieces. It was amazing.

grabbing a sewing kit and her favorite stuffed doll, the little girl ran to her late mother's room to grab something: a small diamond ring. it was still dark outside, everyone in the house was asleep. she stepped outside, quiet as a mouse until she reached the gate. trying to be as careful as possible she managed to climb over. she ran. she didn't even think to look back, she never wanted to see that godawful estate ever again, she ran and ran until she couldn't run anymore. she blacked out.

"it's my birthday, i thought."

"and instead of spending it with friends or family,"

"sylvie! she's waking up!" the little girl awoke to a young man standing over her, worried. "huh?" "julian come on, let the poor thing get to her senses before pestering her with questions!" a blonde woman came up to 'julian' and smacked him behind the head. "where am i?" the little girl asked. "you're in our house," the blonde woman started, "julian found you passed out near the village and took you in, what on earth were you doing out so late?!" she hesitated. "do you know your parents' numbers so we can call them?" she froze. "n-no, that won't be necessary.." sylvie sighed. "well, can you tell us your name at least?"

marigold :   is your muse prone to jealousy ? how might they handle envious feelings ?

No! She is not prone to jealousy in the slightest, actually. She's very used to being the focus of attention, however, if she weren't in a given situation she would not be upset about it. She wants others to shine just as she has been allowed to as well. She actually has always feared that others would view her as an attention whore or someone who wants those around her to fail so she can succeed. Even if she can't express his love or care for others while, she does (or did) care very deeply for those that were in B-Komachi with her. That is why her phone passcode lined up with their names as well. She wanted them to all shine and succeed.

southernwood :   how seriously does your muse take themself ? do they prefer a solemn   &   intellectual atmosphere or do they delight in jokes   &   banter ?

Not very seriously at all! She is very open to joking, even as her own expense to some extent. She loves to banter with people she cares about. A lot of her actions can really show if he likes you or if she loves you! Even if she never says either because she's terrified of saying it genuinely and fearing it would be a lie instead of the truth. She takes a great delight in being able to joke around and banter with those she loves.

lilac :   what was your muse’s childhood like ? how has their upbringing affected them as they’ve aged ? 

Her upbringing was very bad. Having no father and a mother who was totally absent for various reason before she was put in a home for children with no family until she was scouted. She never felt as if she was loved nor loved anything. She was living every day because she simply wouldn't die. It was a lonely and isolating existence. The only thing she started to love was being an idol and that was only because she found an answer to how she could love people. Her lies where love in her eyes - or at least, that is how she thought of it. It affected her viewpoint on love, life, and how she could love those around her.

iris :   if your muse could convey one last message to someone they have lost or left behind ,   what would it be ?

Well, techinically, it was her who "left someone behind", because she died. But she would want to leave a lot of messages behind because there are so many people who suffered from her death and the fact she never got to properly express herself.

She'd want to tell both of her kids a true and earnest "I love you" because she only ever got to say it in her dying moments. She would want to tell them how proud she is of them and that she wants them to grow up happy and without worry, which isn't their life in the current day.

She would want to tell Ichigo and Miyako thank you for giving her a purpose in her life and helping her even when she put their livihoods at risk when having twins. She would want to especially thank Miyako for stepping up and taking care of both of them after her death. That they were the closest she truly ever had to real parents and she wishes she would have valued them more

And last she would want to tell her groupmates that she was proud of them all for trying so hard to be idols along side her and that, even if she was often the focus, they shone right along side her and she could have never been what she was without them at her side. She wishes she could have been friends with them all and been closer with them.

There are so many things she wants to say to so many people! But those are the most important ones.
