It was harder than I thought, tho… no wonder why I can't find it done yet (I'm not telling it doesn't exist, I may just suck at searching. Or just google hate me (I will no go further this topic… but who knows knows))

as last time:

So when I was trying to make some poses I noticed that my sims have weirdly small eyes and sad mouths but in CAS they looks fine. Then I noticed that in maxis version sims have widely open eyes and a bit on a smile. So I made “perfectly still” verion where sims have more neutral/relaxed faces. Also hands positions in hand-close-up are little bit diffrent. As well as teeth-close-up for warewoles. I tried to make a better close-up for teeth for all but it always turned out… wierd and silly.

All screenshots with light gray background are in-game (from CAS, ofc). Dark gray background is from Blender.

This mod is animations override so it may collide with other like this. Full list of overrided animations at the end of the post.

all versions are deactivating CAS occult animations! And reactions to fit slider, etc.

HOW TO INSALL:

just unzip a archiv and pase the *.package file in your ../documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods folder

hi!!! ur good!! you mean this one?

i use rampage trainer! it has thousands of scenarios and tens of thousands of animations! altho when i first got rampage it was missing a lot of its animation dictionaries for some reason so i had to write a parser to get the anims from a datamined anim file from the rdr3_discoveries github repo. if thats also the case for you heres the link to the full list i parsed that you can replace /RampageFiles/Lists/PedAnimList.txt with:

(on kind of a side note i think it takes away a bit of the 'magic', if u will, from ppl who dont play with mods looking at these kind of staged/posed pics without knowing exactly how they were forced into these positions (lol) if the process is laid out but nonetheless im happy to explain as best i can :3)

so in general since its pretty much impossible to know all 40000+ animations you just kind of try to find one that has at least one frame of animation that suits the pose you have in mind and just sort of play with it until you get a shot thats just right. for me i knew i wanted a pose for leaning back against the table and one for leaning forward with hands placed on the table, so for chorles i think i used (this was a while ago i cant remember exactly sorry!) one of the scenarios you get with key word "lean" and it was probably the lean back wall scenario, and for orther it was read train plans or bank teller lean on counter... but yeah in general you kind of just have to browse through thw scenarios and animations and keep track of interesting ones you might want to use later, and try to match the anims (if they move around a lot) to get a good snap of when they are in a position you like!

idk how others do it but thats how i do it. probably not the most efficient workflow but i have yet to browse thru all the anims so i can only work with the anims im familiar with.

if you want dancing, try searching for related keywords. rampage allows you to search for keywords for both scenarios and animations! once ur familiar with how they name their animations you should be able to find just about anything. for dancing just searching for "dance" should prompt quite a few results.

as for brawling i think actually making ur characters fight would be the best way to take action pics. in rampage u can also change ur model and spawn npcs and force them to fight u. u can also get the battle creator mod to spawn fights as well.

btw if ur looking for anything similar to this specific pic, i actually think @foundynnel might know more about intimate/suggestive animations and scenarios given some very cute sadie/arthur pics they've made, hiiii @foundynnel sorry to bother u but if u see this would u like to throw in ur two cents? 🥺🌹 i could learn a thing or two as well! 💕

Hello! I will be using the fic Uno Reverse by A_flower_in_the_snow as an example on how to use wayback for fics!

Step One: go to the website http://web.archive.org/

Step Two: Put in the link for the site/webpage you want to look at into the search bar -

Step Three: After hitting enter you either will be sent to a page that says 'Wayback Machine has not archived that URL' (which means nobody had added that link to WayBack) or one that looks like this -

This specific fic link (it can differ between full works and each chapter, this one is for the full work) appears to have been saved 3 times.

If you hit the black lines it will show you what month/day/year it was saved.

If you click on the highlighted date, in this case May 12th,

It will show a list of times on that day that the fic was saved -

Click on any one then sit back and enjoy your fic!

P.S You might have to click on multiple ones, because sometimes the saved link sends you to an error page, like this one, may 12th, while the other days don't. Just be aware of that, if you get an error page, you can just try a different date. Unfortunately it doesn't work all the time but in most cases, it does.

i keep seeing you talk about this xan guy, but who is he?

xan is a potential companion in baldur's gate, the first game in the baldur's gate series. in the vanilla game, he has basic voice lines that play in reaction to commands, other companions, and the locations you're in. in fact, all of his voice lines can be viewed in the "quotes" section on the wiki; that's the extent of the content he has.

wait, i thought he was a full-fledged companion with friendship and romance paths? also, isn't he in baldur's gate 2?

he is, but only with the use of mods!

BG1NPC adds xan's banter, commentary, and romance path to bg1 (alongside a lot of other things, take a look at the readme!)

Xan's friendship path adds xan's friendship path to bg1

Xan BG2 NPC adds xan to bg2, as well as 2 romance paths, a friendship path, and a new soundset

Alternate Xan Soundset for BG2 restores xan's bg1 soundset to him in bg2, because nothing beats the original

if you want to romance him, make sure to play as an elf, unless you're ready for a bit of heartbreak ;( non-elves can romance him for a bit in bg1, but at one point you'll be forced to break it off.

why don't you like xan in bg2?

spoilers ahead, but:

i don't agree with his characterization and the execution of his romance paths as a whole

his bonded bg2 romance is worse than his bg1 romance, and intimacy with him almost always involves sex now, when it didn't before

he's been made ridiculously old

he's out of character, and many of his reactions are just odd

i don't agree with his death, and here's more paragraphs why

bonded xan is too ready to serve goddess!charname, when based on past behavior i'd think he would have a firm stance against it

his player-initiated dialogue options are poorly thought out

he was altered to have proficiency in darts instead of slings. darts fucking suck, why would you do this to him

his behavior would hurt radri, a lot

why are you still drawing/writing about him in bg2, then?

i love xan and radri together, i can't just write him out of bg2

there's nothing that i know for sure is akin to a comprehensive list or website but do not fret sweet anon, there's still hope.... here we go.....

for general things like decent-at-best house photos, busts (occasionally full-body photos, especially if you look at those whole household pics), front-facing portraits, storytelling photos, your best bet is the sims fandom wiki, even with it's absolutely fucking insane invasive mobile ads. and if you're on web get an adblocker TRUST ME. still a solid reference i use it all the time

for close-up face shots including ones for different ages, there's this sims 2 canalblog. it has all the bg and ep hood premades but it's sort of hard to navigate ‼️ and it's french ‼️; here's beau as an example. some photos deviate, some have the simmies smiling real hard, whatevs. this is one i use a bunch too

other good references are gameplay blogs on this very site. search the sim's tag, you'll likely find a plethora of in-game screenshots of them in their natural environment especially if we're talking a sim like vidcund, an absolute feast of references.

here's a couple gameplay-oriented blogs i know of that cover a wide spread of premades:

@jacethegaymer and @plumbogs use cc but stay rather faithful to the sims' og designs with some having no changes at all

@nervosims and @beikonsims both use what i'd say is a very large amount of cc, make pretty heavy changes to some sims' og looks, but are still quality refs imo

recommend more or your own blogs in the replies/reblogs if you wish. i don't personally know many but it would help greatly

other things you could use are cc/mod previews (obscure asf. many use premades in them, though they're never tagged i've noticed so good luck actively searching for these lmao); if you simply search on google there are often livejournal or dreamwidth pages with stories or pictures of the premades. going back to the houses part, you could always switch things up and reference rebuilds. @plumbtales has some drop dead gorgeous ones, and has pictures of separate rooms + you can find many others here. i find that these make more interesting backgrounds than the maxis builds

tbh halfway through i just began throwing out things that could be used as refs but ones i don't use myself. obviously the best choices are the game itself and google search -> images, but this was a fun little list to compile. perhaps i've made myself my own comprehensive list of possible premade references for when i'm too lazy to boot up my game that takes less than 2 minutes to fully load from clicking the .exe to entering a household!!

I know I like.. never talk on here, but just know that I scroll down the activity feed and get so happy to see people just going through the blog and finding stuff. Every time a new person follows I hear their name in the smash announcer voice and I wish I could give a shoutout to all you lovely people who visit.

Honestly, this started off as a personal side blog to keep references I wanted to use way back when, and then (and I mean quite suddenly) it was a full fledged blog with thousands of people following it. I admittedly got quite intimidated, and attempted to overhaul my system a little (I never did successfully do this) and I wasn’t able to keep up with asks (there are still so many that I’m afraid to answer now because they were sent so long ago) but the constant activity helps me feel like this continues to be a good endeavor to keep up with regardless.

What I’ll try to do, and do forgive me as I do have a full time job now as opposed to when I first started the blog, is go back and make sure everything is tagged properly, and then make a master list of all the tags so that people can better search for things (because tumblr won’t do that for us). If you have any other suggestions, I’d be glad to hear it, and thank you all for the endless support. It really means a lot to me how many of you have continued to stick around and use this blog as a resource.

i go by my middle name, brooklyn. opie, brooklyn, idc what you call me. she/her pronouns. i’m black, I’m from chicago. got my degrees in research psychology, but i would much rather be a director.

why do you have a patreon if your content is free?

not all of my content is free. 18+ versions episodes are behind a paywall due to patreon’s guidelines. all proceeds go straight back into funding the content. (paying for storage for files and episodes. my capcut and canva subscriptions. that’s it) the censored version is always posted on YouTube for free. admittedly, they take me a bit longer to make. so, patrons usually get early access because i can keep all the vulgarity and music in. only vulgar scenes, some vulgar language, and some songs are omitted, but you still get the full story. i just change the content around to make it appropriate for YouTube.

are you an aesthetic gamer?

no. i kinda just do whatever. my page is a dumpster dive. this is essentially a garbage bin. it’s messy, unorganized, but sometimes you might find some decent stuff in it.

depends on the build. check my terms of use. i am fine if shells get furnished and reuploaded. just be sure to tag me so i can see what you do! for my fully furnished builds and Lykaia specific builds, i would prefer if they weren’t.

how did you learn how to build?

start practicing with floor plans of real homes. you can find them online. start small with less intricate houses. adjust them to fit ts4. if there’s things like a utility closet, omit that from the build. focus on the main rooms: bedrooms, bathroom, living, kitchen. once you get a hang of that, then you can start creating your own floor plans.

can you make me a build?

commissions are currently closed. if or when they reopen, i’ll make a post about it. commissions cost, but the build will always be posted to the public for free.

unless i state it is up for download, then no. i still like to have my personal sims and builds. a lot of lykaia builds don’t actually even exist! they’re just sets i make. most of the areas i don’t film in are completely empty.

i pronounce it luh-kai-uh. is that how you actually pronounce it? i have no idea lol.

what is Lykaia inspired by?

primarily teen wolf. it also draws inspiration from the greek mythology and euphoria. it is an original story though.

is your lou and rory the same as ea’s?

they have some similarities, but for the most part no. my versions have an original back story and different personalities. they also look a bit different. i used their likeness, but that’s about it. ea’s lou and rory are still roaming around in my game. they are entirely different people.

will you have any other series?

yes. i fully plan on doing more series. some reality tv series and some scripted tv shows. my newest series, jackpot, is currently in production.

how long will lykaia run?

i am unsure. i have plans for a third season. aside from that, it just depends on how i feel about it. i have a lot more of lou and imogen’s story to tell. they go through a lot especially as they get older.

PROS: it's very detailed, for one. the user only needs to know their dimensions and what materials they want to use. offers a wide range of things to add to the room. has a render feature; with images in perspective, panoramas, and video processes of the render itself.

CONS: it might be a bit overwhelming to first-time users, especially with the amount of controls. also requires mid to high speed internet for the experience. limited amount of render saves. also has a pro version, but that's only if you're unwilling to subscribe.

WHAT: Minecraft is a 3-D computer game where players can build anything. CONS: purchased, not free. also contains in-app purchases. servers can lag. social interactions are included, if you're not into that or because of cyberbullying, but i highly doubt you need to talk to other people just to make your DR house.

The Sims 4

WHAT: The Sims 4 is a social simulation game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. It is the fourth major title in The Sims series, and is the sequel to The Sims 3. [lifted from Google Search]

PROS: like minecraft, it's a game. it's meant to be stimulating and functional. the sims 4 in particular has the best graphics and details out of all the games in the series. for desktop players, they can create almost anything and everything they want for a DR house. the base game is also free.

CONS: the base game is just that—the base game. that's not to say it's not fun, but it simply doesn't offer the full experience without the extension packs. you can download custom content, but it's definitely a long process, especially if you accidentally download broken or corrupted files. it's also...incredibly tiring to play, especially if you're on some kind of limit on your game.

Matt is a fucking idiot. imagine being in charge of a website that advertises itself as the gayest place on the web when in reality all you do is sulk in your office being upset and whiny because people rightfully call you out on your hypocrisy, ignorance, neglect, and blatant bigotry.

there is a literal genocide happening that's been going on for years killing innocent people. a non-binary teen was beaten to death and the killers have basically gotten off free. and this fucking dumbass decides to worry about what people are saying about him online as if he isn't sitting in a pile of money like every other jackass CEO is dong. the fact Palestine isn't one of the listed trending tags on tumblr when i see news about it every 5 posts is ridiculous.

he's just like any other rich guy. he doesn't care about the wellbeing of others, thinks only for himself, puts others down when they feel threatened, and just wants more money.

tumblr stopped being a safe place for "outcasted" people years ago, even before the porn ban. in fact, maybe it never really was for outcated people. trans, black, and disabled users have been getting put down by this site for a very long time, and its fucking disgusting. this site literally houses the largest percentage of LGBT+ and disabled users i've ever seen if we're going by the polls where literally the option of cisgender and neurotypical is always under 1%. they literally are the reason this website still exist, because they've created their circles and safe spaces for them to feel comfortable sharing their life experiences and adventures through life.

most people on this site can't go a day in their real life without some form of harassment or hardship, they don't need that transferring to their digital life. every group of people deserves their own corner for them to have fun and get away from everything for a while. if that's taken away, you are left with people who are just throwing tantrums, and the actual users who made your site usable are now out there probably doing better than you and getting more respectable support than you will with your group of crying babies.

Matt is not a 13 year old kid running a GMod DarkRP server. Matt is not a 26 year old forum mod. he is a 40 year old CEO who is the founder of a well known blog creation site. he has an extremely important and powerful position, yet he is choosing to put his own immature feelings first before thinking about the safety of his own userbase that is literally used as this sites selling point.

the fucking audacity to do this shit to your own users that you literally use for a selling point when you won't even allow for certain tags to show up in the search because you claim for them to have sexual content meanwhile other tags are full of hatred, bigotry, and downright defamation of innocent people who just happen to live different lives is fucking gross. i absolutely cannot believe society and social norms have let the minds of people in power get this fucking bad. it's almost impressive, in a tortured lab monkeys way, not in an innovated and breakthrough way.

please protect all trans users, especially trans women/trans fems. please protect black users, disabled users, all people of color users, homeless/financially struggling users, harassed users, victims of assault users, Palestinian users, jewish users, any religious users-any user that you know for a fact could be thrown away by this bullshit system any day now, protect and take care of them, and make sure they know you'll always be there no matter what.

We need to talk about Benchmade.

Ah, Benchmade. The reason why balisongs are called buttefly knives by the general public, and an absolute juggernaut in the larger knife community. There's a reason people swear by Benchmade and their other stuff, but more specifically, I want to talk about the new balisong they've supposedly been cooking up that is insanely worrying at best and a slap in the face to the community at worst.

Before we get into the knife in question, let's take a trip down memory lane with Benchmade's past balisongs. First up, we have the Model 42 and its siblings:

MSRP of around $200 USD, washers only, and you had a choice of either steel or titanium handles, but back then it was all that you could get your hands on that wouldn't fall apart in a matter of weeks. They're what some of the first flippers ever had their hands on, up until its discontinuation, and I stand to say that it is the most iconic balisong of all time. It's in all the movies, it's one of the first knives that pop up when you search balisongs on Google—hell, some people now are asserting that its flipping still stacks up to what's on the market today. But it and its siblings did not last forever, and it was discontinued in the early 2010s, replaced by the Model 51:

~$280 USD MSRP, and still only on washers, but this time it was on titanium liners and G10 scales. People didn't like the 51 as much as the 42, but again, options were very limited (your only other real choice was a Bradley Kimura), and with the handles not being one solid piece of material, it soon became a bit of a modding platform alongside the BRS Replicant when that came along. But yet again, things don't last forever, and the 51 saw its discontinuation a few years back.

Benchmade was always a company that didn't seem to care much for the flipping community, considering the last balisongs they used to offer, the 8x series, are 5.5 oz bearing knives that retailed for $500+ USD. But around 4 months ago, a page from their 2024 catalogue got leaked to the balisong subreddit about a new balisong they're trying to cook up, which is the subject of today's rant:

Meet the Necron, a liners + G10 knife with an adjustable balance, options for handle extensions, and a weight that wasn't totally unbearable. While some people didn't like its resemblance to the Replicant, it seemed like Benchmade was finally paying attention to the flipping community with the fact that they geared the knife towards flipping. Even if the base live blade was marked at $450 USD, it was about par for the course considering Benchmade's prices on all of their current products.

Then Blade HQ released a video about Benchmade's 2024 catalogue along with preorder listings. Included was the Necron, and when the knife's full specs were revealed, I witnessed an entire community go "what the fuck" in real time.

Before I reveal the Necron's full specs, there's something I want you to understand. The community's bar for Benchmade has been six feet underground ever since the release of the 8x series with how overpriced it was. Considering their importance in the early days of the hobby, a good chunk of older flippers I've talked to would be perfectly content with a rerelease of the 4x series or even the 51—Cold Steel is doing this with an aluminum version of the Arc Angel, and some people are at least mildly interested in it. But Benchmade seems to be allergic to that, and in recent years with them jacking up prices all across the board, opinions surrounding them have soured.

Anyway, here are the Necron's full specs:

Did you notice that the liners are steel? Did you notice that it's only on washers?

In its price bracket alone, you have things like the SlifT and Serif-P from Machinewise, the Tsunami Trainer from Squid Industries, the Cygnus from LDY, the Specter, Chimera, and Basilisk-R from Jerry Hom—all of these knives are just one step below the absolute best of the best of production balisongs, and all of these have bushings, at least use titanium in the handles, and are built with the utmost care and attention to detail (except for maybe the Tsunami, but that's a rant for another time).

The Necron is none of those. Instead, it is a knife that would have been outdated 5 years ago, lacks features that 85 dollar knives have, and is only going to be bought by braindead shills who care about the brand of the knife and nothing else. The Replicant outclasses it in every way, and for the price of the Necron you could build a custom one entierly from aftermarket parts. Even within Benchmade's past knives, both the 42 and the 51 used titanium in some capacity, and both of those knives were considerably cheaper than what the Necron is gonna retail for. At least Ben Parli's gonna get some more customers...

In the Blade HQ video I mentioned earlier, the Benchmade representative touted on about how they're tracing back to their roots with what they call a "modern knife" that'll be good for flipping. But with the sheer cognitive dissonance between what they say about it and what's what the truth of it is, the community at large can't help but feel that they're completely out of touch and only want to line their pockets with more money. If this is the way Behcnmade goes out making balisongs, then so be it. It's not like Benchmade cares anymore anyway.

hello, this may be a very random question but i'm thinking of starting my own simblr blog and was wondering how you have your mods folder organized? like is it by mods>>buildby>>*creator name*>>collection... and so on. Especially for your wcif, how can you track down which part of a collection an item is from, etc like for harries' & felixandre's cc they usually contains multiple parts in a collection. idk if that makes any sense & isn't confusing lol but i'm so impressed on how your able to track down cc especially for cc found on websites that ts4rebels, etc.

Hello, my answer is below the cut!

So I attached a picture of how my mods folder looks like. I don't have any sub folders in those folders since I've heard that can sometimes prevent the cc/mod from working.

For wcifs:

I currently have 44 pages worth of answered wcifs on my blog so by now I honestly don't have a hard time to find most of my build/buy cc since I remember the collections well.

But the easiest way for me to look for the cc, is just to open my game, load into the lot where the item is and then it will tell you the name. A lot of creators put the collection name and also their creator name in the title which makes it easy to google it and as for the set, if it's not as obvious as if the cc item is a fridge, then I just look at the different collections' preview pictures until I see the item.

And as for cas, I go to edit the sim that's wearing the cc item and click on it, most of the time I can recognize the creators logo but if you can't, then I suggest to save the sim in your library and download the sims 4 tray importer, open it and then you can actually see a full list of all the cc the sim is wearing. I am sure there are some more ways to track down cc but this is what I do!

Lastly paywalled cc:

I don't think I have a lot of paywalled cc in my game. If any, most of it is from bergdorfverse and even then it's only a few bags. If I have to link it then I can always find it in the vault. Firstly I check the exact name of the bag, by looking through my sims 4 mods manager, which shows you the exact pictures and names of items. (I also sometimes use this for other cc if I don't want to open my game) Once I have the name, I search through the bergdorfverse files in the vault until I find the collection.

Finding & Linking cc can oftentimes take a long time, especially if it's paywalled but I hope this helps!
