I'm gonna talk about "Home"

looking at photos from that episode, specifically the part where Elizabeth goes "home" (to Simon) just blows my mind. I liked Simon in that episode. He was sweet, he was attentive, he was relieved to see her, he gave her the biggest hug that she *desperately* needed and all that.

That's the *ideal* Simon. That's the Simon that Elizabeth wants, maybe wishes for. But it's not the real one. Of course she doesn't know that at first, but when does she first realize something is off? When they kiss. Therefore something in that kiss made her go "hold up, he doesn't kiss like that."

Maybe the kiss felt sincere, maybe it felt like a kiss from someone that actually loved her, idk, but something was off and I think it's telling. It *could* be the other way around, that it felt off because it was unfamiliar, the aliens didn't quite know what to do this, but given previous examples that he acted in every that Elizabeth loved, I cannot help but believe that the kiss had something *good* that made her take a step back *because* it was so unfamiliar.

Maybe this was the Simon that Elizabeth fell in love with and after a few years into the relationship the spark was just gone, they fell out of love but because it was comfortable they stayed. Maybe this was the ideal that Elizabeth was chasing from the beginning. Either way, it shows the ideal person that Elizabeth wishes for: someone attentive, someone that holds her, someone that's attentive, someone that kisses her in a way that she knows she's loved.

Simon was not that person.

she checks the post-it once more, then at the numbers on the door. yep, this was the right apartment. the faerie wanted to be sure that this was nnoitra's new place! shifting the box in her arms, she lifts a hand to the door and raps her knuckles against it. rocking on the balls of her feet, she sure hopes he isn't too busy. what if he's unpacking? should she just come back later? before she can second-guess herself too much, she hears the door open and glances up, greeting her dear friend with a bright smile.

" nnoitra! i brought an apartment-warming gift for you. " she holds up the large, neatly wrapped box to him. it's a bit heavy, but agatha manages just fine. " it's a set of brand new pots and pans! in yellow, which is your favorite color, yes? i hope i remembered that correctly. " her smile seems to grow as she laughs. " i'm sure the pots and pans you have are just fine, but i thought, 'why not something new to go with the new place?', so i bought this for you. i really hope you like everything and you get a lot of use out of it all! "

      After going out and getting himself some hot chocolate, he had warmed up. WHICH HE NEEDED! Honestly, after waking up on the mattress he had been worried he’d never feel warm again. That’s how cold he’d been! He was back ‘ home ‘ now ( damn, it was weird, referring to this place as ‘ home ‘ ). He had decided he’d buy himself a fucking brand new bed. No second-hand shit. It was going to be NEW. Even though Nnoitra looked shabby as hell, he actually had money. Because he never spent any except for when he bought food ( and he mostly lived off cheap food anyway ). He was saving his money for the day his job landed him in serious shit, so that he could pay for medical bills. WHO SAID HE WAS STUPID?? Anyways, he had plenty of money for a new bed, so he was going to order one. He was scrolling on his phone, trying to decide on one that he could get delivered. There was a knock on his door. At first he thought it was just those fucking neighbors making noise again, but he soon realized that someone had come to visit. 

     He got up from the mattress ( it was the only place where he could sit in his apartment, since he had no furniture ). He was expecting the visitor to be one of the neighbors, and he was fully prepared for an unpleasant conversation. Color him surprised then, when he opened the door and Agatha was standing there. She was practically beaming, holding a large, wrapped box. It looked heavy. He had NEVER received an ‘ apartment warming gift ‘. With how gloomy he had been feeling lately, being shown this kindness hit pretty hard. He grinned, and he could tell his smile was wide. For the first time in fucking GOD knows how long.

      ❝ Hell yeah it is. ❞ Yellow was, indeed, his favorite color. Though one wouldn’t guess that, from how little yellow he wore or owned. He took the box from her, feeling like she was struggling with the weight of it. It really was heavy. ❝ Damn, ‘s this yer way ‘a tellin’ me I gotta start cookin’ my own meals? ❞ What was this? He was actually cracking a joke? What the fuck... 

      He stepped aside to welcome her in. Compared to her very cozy home, she would definitely find this place shitty. It was a bad apartment. Dusty, dirty and small, with no view. It kind of was... A reflection of how Nnoitra had been feeling recently. He placed the box down on the kitchen counter ( which was built-in so at least he wouldn’t have to buy one ). ❝ This is my new home. ❞ He gestured around the empty room. ❝ I guess... I gotta buy some stuff ‘ta make it look more... Home-like. ❞ ‘ Some ‘ being the understatement of the year.
