I got Sygna Suit Korrina and Bertha as a bonus, and decided to get Summer Hilda before the Scout ended cause... eh... why not.

Clobbopus took only 7 hours and 40 minutes to find. After the last hunt went so fast I was expecting this one to go long.

I didn't even see or hear the sparkles, I just looked down and thought "...Oh."

These are my favorite pokemon designs from this gen, and I'm sad about how dirty they were treated. You meet the evolved form five minutes before you find the baby, well after your team is probably settled, and then it has meh stats and a meh movepool. And it's not even half water type which would have really helped.

But he's here, he's my Blorbo and I love him. And his shiny is fantastic.

And with that my team is assembled. Here they are in order of capture. Fritter was Masuda method, but I also got pokerus so I figure it balances out. This accidentally turned into a physical moves only run but I guess I enjoy the challenge.

195:45 is the final time to get a full shiny team of six for this Sword Dream Team playthrough. I started this file at the end of February and caught the first one March 1st. End date August 14th. (Glad I finished before gen 9!)

I'll make one more post once I beat the game.

I, personally, don’t care for Grapploct’s shiny colors. especially when its normal colors looked THAT Good. it just feel disappointing?? idk, may just be me, but I just wanted to try my hand at some possible recolors for it cuz I really love to play around with colors and palettes.

I actually really like Clobbopus here. I feel like a fighting-type octopus that uses its tentacles for punching, while a fairly obvious concept, is a good one, and Clobbopus does a good job of representing that with its dark-colored "boxing gloves" and markings that make a wrestling mask of sorts.

I also just like the general aesthetics here. The off-white and orange are a lovely combo, and the blue eyes work well with it. The "gloves" being a dark gray helps them pop out against the rest of the design, with just a small fringe of the same color at the bottom to carry it through without distracting from the tentacles. The blue eyes and their rectangular shape are also super cute.

However, I'm not really that big on Grapploct. It's one of those evos that looses most of the best attributes of the first stage.

To start, I really don't care for the sudden color change. There's no actual reason it couldn't be the off-white with orange, and making the entire body dark gray means you lose any emphasis on the tentacles that the original had. Using navy on this dark color also means that the design blurs together, making it hard to read save for the yellow mask and suckers. Ironically, the shiny keeps a closer palette to Clobbopus (not exact, but closer), and frankly I think it's much better:

On top of that, they also changed the eye shape again for no reason, and it seems to have completely lost the boxing theme. It still has a wrestling motif with the mask, and I guess it's gone from boxing to jujutsu given the "belt" around its waist, but I don't think that reads very clearly conceptually compared to the simplicity of the boxing gloves, thus making the design feel less coherent.

On the plus side, it is at least identifiable as belonging to the same line, and I do think it standing up on two tentacles is interesting, but otherwise it's just pretty "eh".

Overall, Clobbopus is great. Grapploct isn't terrible, but it's not half as good as Clobbopus either due to a muddled color palette and less identifiable theme.

Tommy definitely has a galvantula! for him having a pseudo legendary i could see it either being a goodra or kommo-o, maybe even a dragonite? deviating from the electric type i would love if he had a sandshrew (but im biased bc i love sandshrew).

Gordon with a mudsdale is so real and true, I can also see him with aggron.. perhaps even a tauros..... also random geodude gordon found is besties with joshua instantly (i am not biased at all (lying))

dr coomer grapploct and scizor no comment. i reallly want bubby to have a golisopod bc of grapploct but.. not sure if that would fit better with someone else

gman's 'main' pokemon is articuno. to me

Ohhh yeah! and Goodra's shiny form is yellow if you want to stay color coordinated ha ha. And if Gordon mainly uses Normal (even if i want him to have mainly ground) with the exception of Mudsdale I see no problems with Tommy having a Sandshrew ha ha ^^

Another pokemon that I feel fits Gordon is a Rhyhorn that gradually evolves with each act that eventually evolves into a Rhyperior with the final act. (LOOK AT THEM AND TELL ME THEY AREN'T PERFECT POKÉMON FOR HIM)

Grapploct is a perfect Pokémon for Dr. Coomer. No further comment is needed ^^

AND WITH THE GOLISOPOD THING i'd find it hilarious bc the whole trend of Dr. Coomer and Bubby fighting for one to claim to be the "Alpha male now" but instead having their pokemon fight just to have- yknow what happens ><

I just imagine Dr. Coomer commenting "nature is beautiful" after winning/losing and their pokémon being fine a minute later.

Now i'm thinking that G-Man has a team of bird pokémon. Honchcrow and Corviknight are pretty fitting alongside Articuno.
