Man, I’m finally getting around to creating a legitimate Show Bible for my oc story. Praying I stay committed to finishing it without forgetting any crucial details

I already have all the necessary assets. Just need to figure out how this formatting goes and maybe put some extra concept art photos in there. Then we’ve done it boys and finally I can rest easy knowing I’m a small step away from actual pitching :))

havent watched OUAT since i was a kid. i thought it was so heavy and serious bc i was a kid who watched exclusively baby cartoons up until that point and that show was my first step into more T rated media with swear words and everything. tempted to rewatch bc of our liveblogs im enjoying them a lot.

I had a really similar experience with Grimm (which if I get desperate after OUAT I may revisit) because it’s like omg. They’re swearing. This show has a special effects budget. This must be for adults.

And then you watch it again and honestly it’s like who is even the target audience. Did you know Grimm got 6 seasons? It ran for 123 episodes and who was watching? And who on earth was watching all 7 seasons of OUAT? Me, in 2022

this article is so fucking crazy. not only are they completely overhauling daredevil (which had already been half shot) but they're completely restructuring how they do television because 1. they had no showrunners 2. they had no pilots or showbibles 3. they had no tv specific executives and had execs doing tv and film simultaneously and 4.

this entire paragraph. they really were looking at seasons of tv like eight hour long movies with zero oversight zero direction just going oh well we'll fix it in post. actually fucking insane no WONDER these shows have been total garbage

Have you read the old She-Ra Showbible for 2018

The idea of Entrapta being a Wednesday Adam like character is fascinating.

But i'm glad she's a bit more hyper in the final take.

I've seen it... or bits of it. I remember that original Entrapta was going to be so dark and Goth that she took Hordak aback! I like the perky Entrapta that they eventually decided on, though. Canon Entrapta is fun!

Students were known to install moving ersatz human & animal parts every so often freaking people out as the tech got more realistic. The program was OK in placing its students, but it was seen as lesser tier and got little respect. . . The annual Northeast robotics competition was hosted by Hudson & Dr. Alpert was showcasing his robot dogs that he started working on when he was at MIT. Finn’s undergrad & grad students wanted to show up Alpert, who was mostly benign but an egoist. . . Taking a page out of Avengers: Civil War & the Empire Strikes Back (Battle of Hoth), Finn’s students had a plan to use drones w/fishing line to trip up the formidable robot dogs. They weren’t prepared for the dogs’ AI responding adaptively, but luckily the team had a few tricks up their collective sleeves. 🍌 . . The Arcuri brothers were bankrupt after their small boutique Irestaurant on the Jersey Shore failed. They were from Calabria, coming to NJ in 2000 after being perplexed, repulsed, & fascinated with the early Sopranos. One brother was a culinary genius, while the other handled the business side…and was very protective of his brother. The President of the College loved their restaurant & was frustrated with the contract with #Sodexo. So, the President decided to give the Arcuris the foodservice contract, which was a bit of a leap of faith. . Recent reports came out that student meals at @wellesleycollege averaged out to $12 with a mandatory dining plan. While upscale and full of choices, the President thought the Arcuris could do better. . The College had several cafés, a pub, and an automat throughout its various buildings. The offerings were mediocre & the students were clamoring for Starbucks that would take their meal plans & a revamping of the dining hall that served up vats of institutional food. Landing the contract was easy compared to executing on a scale they weren’t prepared for. They felt over their heads. The brothers started to bicker… . “Look. I’m not going to argue about this. Catra in the Series Showbible seemed more "I like Evil for Funzies" kinda character than the one we got in the final version.

I mean, she DOES still like evil for funzies in the show (just see her let loose in the Crimson Waste), only it take less priority over her relationship/self esteem/career problems.

I think i know the Showbible they are talking about (Maybe) is that the one with some of the early She-Ra designs like Hordak looking more like his 80's counterpart with the Finn on his head, and Catra with just yellow eyes and facepaint?

I don't think so, but I'd love some links to those if you have 'em! Or more info & I'll hunt them down myself lol.

The bible I've found looks more like an early pitch for the show, no Hordak pics at all but Catra is human & Adora's "adoptive sister" so I think it's safe to say this was very early in development & did not actually function as the show's bible. Still extremely fun for me, personally :3
