Celebrate the small victories, the quiet wins, the silent achievements.
Celebrate the magic that happens behind the curtains. Clap for yourself even when no one else is watching.

TEST DRIVE TEST DRIVE TEST DRI-
I have so many thoughts about this entire sequence, from the way Hiccup and Toothless get along to the MUSIC- (the music analysis is going to my tags)
.
But im gonna talk about Toothless pov again
I always think of this is like, the forbidden friendship scene for Toothless the way the actual forbidden friendship was for Hiccup
If Hiccup's scene was Toothless connecting to Hiccup through human things (sharing food, smiling, art and all that)
Then this scene is Toothless' because Hiccup connects with Toothless through flying, something I've always headcanoned to be what dragons (the ones that fly anyway) need not just to survive, but to live and bond with others.
if Hiccup's FF is the beginning of the potential then Toothless' FF is the "end", the moment where the potential is found and fulfilled, the thing that really solidifies their friendship because both has now experienced and accepted the other's unique sides
Just, yeah Toothless sees Hiccup just getting it, understanding why flying is so wonderful, hearing him cheer and whoop in joy like a fledgling's first time in the air, and seeing him at the end instinctively understand what to do-
Like that sudden spin near the end of the sea pillars- and both of them looked surprised they even managed to do that together instinctively- when just a few minutes ago Hiccup couldnt even dodge the two very obvious sea pillars in the beginning
He looks up at this human, this strange clever, brilliant little human who has somehow made this even possible, who has broken every preconception he has, who is now flying with him with a dragon's instinct but baring his teeth in that human way of expressing joy, screaming something he could not parse perfectly in his dragon tongue but understood the meaning all the same.
"We did it."

(anyway the rest is under the cut bcuz I have a LOT of characters so I'm gonna go a bit insane. Pulling from Beast as always)
Crys:
- doesn't bat an eyelash, kills it easily
- merciless, 10/10
Icarus:
- a lil startled, will jump if it flies at him, but manages to catch it and set it free outside
- 8/10. this boi is too good for this world
Rhyme:
- begins by trying to smash it to a pulp
- rapidly gets more and more irritated when she keeps on missing
- finally lets out a primal scream of rage and fireballs it
- 6/10 because she nearly burns down the house
Sol:
- lets out an undignified squeak
- leaves the room
- if it flies at him he's sprinting out of there
- 3/10
Dahlia
- rolls up a newspaper and whacks it a few times?? like a normal person???
- 9/10
Beatriz:
- faints
- poor bbg can't handle the terror
- 0/10
- alternatively shoots her feathers and skillfully punts it out the window
- so overall actually 5/10
Honorary mentions
Iri and Yuan:
- incoherent screeching
- KILL IT KILL IT WITH FIRE
- both trying to get behind the other
- so many feathers embedded in the floor. so many
- Iri scales up Yuan's back and stays there on his shoulders like an overgrown squirrel
- 0/10
Jorge and Jordan
- they catch it
- and store it with their dozen other cockroaches used to prank people
- 10/10, but I'm docking points for the malicious intent

This has absolutely been discussed many times but I am once again losing it over the fact that "Rogue One" as a name is making sound out of silence.
It's formed as a last minute, emergency name for the shuttle, for the people aboard, for the mission when Bodhi says it; it has no precedent, nothing that came before it for that name to be used. But when Bodhi says it, it exists.
It both takes advantage of and retcons the Rogue Squadron we've seen before in the original trilogy, where there was no Rogue One. But there is now, because Bodhi said it.
Jyn's name, Cassian's name, K's name, Chirrut's name, Baze's name, Bodhi's name, every one of the rebels that are on the shuttle... none of them come up again in the things that temporally follow. Yes, those pieces of media were created before this film, but in the world of the story, they come after, and it becomes a remarkable silence.
Rogue One as the team that took Scarif and stole the Death Star plans exists as Rogue One because Bodhi pulls that name out of silence, out of nothing that preceded it. "Rogue One?! There is no Rogue One!" "Well, there is now." And after Scarif, there is no Rogue One again. It existed only for what it accomplished.
On a meta level, that's exactly what the film does as well-- it tells a story that was only a handful of vague lines before, draws it out of the lacunae and places itself where it belonged to tell a story that was restrained by the shape of the narrative that came before it and was unavoidably wrapped around it. It's the quintessential "doomed by the narrative."
There's also the fact that Jyn's theme is built around dies irae and reflexively creates a reference to her in parts of A New Hope and also makes the score tell you that she's doomed by the narrative to die but I've screamed enough already.

with lewis’ statement, do you not support as a driver anymore?
The short answer is no.
The longer answer is that I'm holding him to the standard he set for himself in 2020 and he has fallen extremely short of that and I'll explain why.
After George Floyd was murdered in 2020, Lewis said unequivocally that "Black Lives Matter". He understood that there was a systemic problem where police were systematically murdering Black people at disproportionate rates and getting away with it. Did that statement mean that, other races getting killed by police didn't matter? No, it was common sense that all death at the hands of police was a problem. It meant that it was important to bring attention to and try to fix a problem that was affecting Black people at higher rates than others which is why saying "All Lives Matter" or "Blue Lives Matter" would have been counterproductive.
But he didn't just say "Black Lives Matter", he did something about it because he understood that posting donation links after yet another murder simply wasn't enough. He protested in the middle of a pandemic and proceeded to ask Mercedes to change the livery of the car to symbolise the significance.
Let's bring that same logic to today. Posting "My heart breaks for all the innocent lives lost in Israel and Palestine, and all the lives that have been forever changed. The scale of the ongoing suffering and loss is truly devastating and there is no justification for the deliberate targeting of people — especially children. We cannot accept it" is an All Lives Matter statement. It deliberately ignores that one group is being targeted and has been for decades. It ignores that one group is disproportionately being killed at higher rates by the other group. And it's counterproductive to dismantling the apartheid and systemic genocide of Palestinians by colonial settlers on their own land.
He said we need to put pressure on leaders to end this. Which leaders? Israel has the support of 3 colonial powers behind it. One of which, the U.S. has consistently vetoed a ceasefire each and every time it has come up at the UN. Before this, the UN's official position was a 2 state solution that screwed Palestine out of the best half of it's land.
Further, the links he posted also ignore that there is no way to get aid into Gaza. Medecins Sans Frontiers has said that Israel has cut off food, water, electricity and medical supplies. Israel is also bombing relentlessly and indiscriminately without a ceasefire. They are killing Palestinians, journalists, aid workers (all war crimes) and injuring so many more that the medical system is on the verge of collapse. What good are donations they can't get to?
So for Lewis to post that All Lives Matter-esque statement when he clearly understands power dynamics, systemic brutality, and knows the importance of calling it out by name is an intentional disregard of genocide and I'm unwilling to support that.
In the words of Maurice Switzer, it is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt of it.

🌸。*゚+. I think for all intent and purposes, I'll be referring to P as... well... "P" in all his tags and whatnot. Try to keep things as spoiler free as I possibly can on here. At least for a few months? I'll try to tag "Lies of P Spoilers" in things that have spoilers, though when it comes to writing in certain verses (post-game), I can say with 100% certainty that... it'll be incredibly spoilery c': So... warning on that front, if anyone cared and wanted to play the game themselves if they hadn't yet. If anyone wanted any other specific tag to use (because the general spoiler tag is kinda used by the fandom in general dfghujkdf), I can make one people can blacklist so they don't get spoiled!
Also, his google doc is probably gonna be hella spoilery, so if people just want to interact with an in-game verse (like beginning to mid-ish timeline) then they're free to request whatever information for him for that via DMs! But I think imma get started on his doc soon (after I fill my queue with other stuff) because... I'm excited to use him and I have the PERFECT FC's for him to use~
