🍓Introduction

The 100 Berry Baby Challenge is a colorful twist on the original 100 Baby Challenge. The goal is to have 100 babies, but over 10 generations of family gameplay. This style of challenge is great for any simmer looking to for more family-style game play, whether you use berry sims or not!

🍓 Rules

The originally TS4 100 Baby Challenge rules are by SnarkySims. The rules I am following have been adapted for berry sweet sims by Tainoodles and can be found here.

🍓 History

I started playing this challenge in 2020. Originally developed for Youtube (playlist here), I found that it was hard for me to stay on top of producing and editing high quality videos. I have also posted bits of the challenge on Instagram, though inconsistently. My goal is to reboot the challenge from the beginning here, meaning I already have THREE YEARS of content to add to the queue. I want the challenge to have a singular home, both so I can look back on it and so that others can enjoy it, too.

🍓 Road Map

This is my roadmap for the challenge. Feel free to adopt or adapt it if you plan to do the challenge on your own!

YELLOW- My founder Sim is a yellow sim. Every generation's heir will have to inherit a yellow skin tone in order to be eligible to carry on the family.

PURPLE- This is the first generation spouse's color. This generation will be themed around desserts, meaning all of my sims will have dessert-themed names. The heir must inherit purple eyes and purple hair.

TEAL- The second generation will be the teal generation, and will be themed around crystals and stones. This generation emphasizes eco-living. The heir must inherit Teal eyes and Teal hair.

PINK- The third generation will be the pink generation, and will be themed around fruits and berries. The heir must inherit pink hair and pink eyes.

ORANGE- The fourth generation will be the orange generation, and will be themed around teas and spices. This generation also has a heavy emphasis on Spellcasters. The heir must inherit orange hair and eyes.

WHITE- The fifth generation will be the white generation, and will be themed around winter. This generation will live in Mt. Komorebi and incorporate winter sports. The heir must inherit white hair and white eyes.

RED- The sixth generation will be the red generation, and will be themed around music. This generation will incorporate werewolves. The heir must inherit red hair and red eyes.

PLUM- The seventh generation will be the plum generation, and will have a spooky theme. This generation will incorporate vampires. The heir must inherit plum-colored hair and plum-colored eyes.

GREEN- The eighth generation will be the green generation, and will have a garden theme. This generation will live simply off the land. The heir must inherit green hair and green eyes.

BLUE- The ninth generation will be the blue generation, and will have a ocean theme. This generation will take place in Sulani and incorporate mermaids. The heir must inherit blue eyes and blue hair.

PEACH- The tenth generation will be the peach generation, and will have a fabric and sewing theme. This generation will focus around traveling the world. After this, the challenge is complete!

I LOVE her so much! Obviously this look is pre-kiddos, but I think she looks BA and I adore her and might just have to change her colors and use her for something myself. I haven’t decided yet xD

Hey! This might be a silly question, but when you recolor a hair how do you set it so the game knows the color. For example, when you change the sims hairstyle the color stays the same? I hope that makes sense. Thanks!

This is NOT a silly question! It has to do with Secondary Display Index.

Noodles Sorbet start at 101 and go up in increments of 5. Under the cut is how I do it for recolors.

1. Delete all swatches! You don’t need ‘em, of course.

2. In the WAREHOUSE TAB. You’re going to change the number below….

3. …To 96

4. Then, import the Noodles Sorbet hair palette into S4S. You don’t need to keep the first swatch.

5. Ta-da! The worst work is done automatically.

As you can see, the first swatch now has a SDI of 101! You can do it yourself manually as well, but with 65 swatches, that’s… a lot. If you want to fix it manually though, like I said, it goes up in increments of 5. 101, 106, 111, 116… and so on and so forth until 421 (aka Peach Puff). 

Believe me, this is a SUPER common problem, especially when first starting to recolor–I almost ALWAYS forgot to change the old swatch and would have to go through every one…. manually changing it…. And it was awful. And that was back before we had the palette tool so… It was Tragic™.

Hey! I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are the dimensions that you use in your little banners under your legacy photos?

They definitely vary depending on the banner. You can always right click and save as/download one to see the dimensions.

But I usually have the width around 1000 pixels and then the height just depends on the content.

The Comfort Zone Challenge by @honeycuts

This is more like the opposite of a challenge, because the point is to push yourself as little as possible. Essentially just create a sim and do what takes the least amount of effort to see what are the features you always gravitate towards! Tag some people and call it a day!

@taesims tagged me, and another reason to make and post a random sim? Sure why not? Thanks for the tag!

If I don’t have a reason to do otherwise, typically I gravitate towards female sims, with some variety of piercings, lashes, or other “ key defining feature”. I try pretty hard not to use the same presets over and over, and if I do, I at least tweak them a bit on every sim. I hope it pays off! 

Also..um..Help me name her?

Improbable Couple Tag                                                  

You will never tell their story, because it’s not part of your plan. But in the secret corner of your mind it’s happening.

RULES: Pick one or more sim couples from your own story that you secretly wanted to see together, but they never fit your plans. Now you can tell everyone about them!

I was tagged by the super creative @mysimsloveaffair and I love this tag so much because I get to kind of show you how sometimes things don’t go to plan!

I had planned for these two to get together, it would be a long drawn out romance that would be sweet and it would take Delfina and Isidoro to live out their lives in Sulani, because Isidoro was studying to be a biologist. Delfina would do her art thing there while I played Sulani features for the first time.

Oscar then happened. Sometimes in my legacy I throw another sim at the heir to see how they react and Delfina really did like Oscar a lot more. Actually the sex scenes with them, there are a lot more that I’ve just cut out. So I had to uturn and just go with the flow. Of course now Delfina is living in Selva with Oscar, since she’s kind of flighty it kind of made sense that she’d drop out to do it AND I also screwed up her terms (playing uni for the first time...) so yeah. She’s with Oscar now and since they went to Selva AND he’s a lawyer (which was randomly rolled for him...) it made perfect sense that he’d represent Marta’s son who I always planned would take over the family ‘business’, it just fit together.

As for these two, they would have been a loving couple, it would have been a really chill save, a family save, as Delfina is family oriented so I did/do want to display that through her story. It would have been fun and it probably would have meant Wilfried would have been doing something else, probably robotics, or something. 

Any ways, I go on too long!
