He was 15 years old when he and his little brother Clifford became orphans in industrial London. Ever since then, every hour of the day has been about keeping the two of them above the water: going from job to job, making sure the rent was paid and the house was warm, putting dinner on the table each night, scraping together a living for himself and a childhood for Clifford. If a group of workers asked to grab a drink after work, he would always decline without thinking; usually, he had somewhere else to be or something else to do, but even when he didn’t, it felt like he did. And then he was drafted into the first World War. He went unquestioningly; it was just another job. The first few times his fellow soldiers invited him to join them for a meal or a chat or a smoke, he declined on instinct--until fellow soldier Joel asked half-joking where else he had to be and for once, he didn’t have an answer. The next few seasons weren’t the childhood he had lost, but they were something like a boyhood.

He falls quietly less than a year into his service, and the world thunders on without him. His lover Joel, and their good friend Leigh, remember him for the rest of their lives.

(Also I’m still dying about “his lover Joel” that is NO LONGER ACCURATE they’re both aro as hell and in the modern community college au they dated for like two weeks in the theoretical first season of the sitcom and then went. Huh! This seems like being friends with extra steps, do you want to just be friends without extra steps? and everyone immediately forgets that that happened)

Yesss, weirdly enough. I’ve recently started to collect funko pops. I mainly collect Star Wars, my favorite anime’s, and some sitcom characters I really enjoy.

9. What sounds or scents calm you down?

Mahogany teakwood but also ocean sounds and or rain sounds.

Yes! I’m blind as hell. I can’t go very far if I don’t know the layout very well. I’m basically re-enacting Velma every time I can’t find my glasses. 😂

btw if anybody thought i was joking about making a “what combination of arrested development character + succession character are you” quiz i was not. i am absolutely going to do that. i need opinions though. should it be limited to members of the bluth family/members of the roy family or should it also have options that are like (bad example) barry zuckerkorn + roger pugh. also should it be like 15 questions or should it be like 30 questions. i know people probably prefer their uquizzes to be under 15 questions but i’m me aka the only person in the history of this earth who has written somewhere in the realm of 225k words of 100% canon compliant fanfiction about emmy-winning sitcom arrested development(2003-2006, 2013, 2018-2019) and also desires to eventually write somewhere in the realm of 225k+ more. so the really polite way of saying it is that brevity is not exactly my strong suit and therefore there is no way on earth or heaven above or hell below that any uquiz done by me would have under 15 questions
