getting into batman and fam late is mildly embarrassing because with the series going on for so long there's a lot of various different interpretations of characters and they'll usually have common threads between them in the very least appearance wise so its easy to recognise them. i, however, did not grow up with the standard appearance of these characters and none shows that example more than when i imagine dick grayson. bc when ppl think of dick grayson he has long(ish) dark hair whereas what i think of is:

the way one makes characters interesting is he gives them a contradiction. tsubomis contradiction is that sometimes shes the most independent strong-headed person ever and sometimes shes terrified of being seen covered in snot & feels like she has to perform happiness/interest, like right here. that reads to me like someone who does have a lot of strong feelings but who is also under a lot of pressure. so shes the valedictorian but gets her licks in where she can, filming terror attacks, punching a guy tryna push weird candy, "Do I really have to say the reason?"

1. What are your top 3 favorite sets you’ve made

1.) naomi arriving in australia. the colors are amazing and naomi looks so pretty and the footage quality was nice and crisp!! i love love lovee looking at this one <3 plus her top is fire and i really wanna buy it from her collection

2.) jannik with the dog in toronto. first of all this dog is adorable like cmon what a good boy. second of all i love how soft the blues and greens of this one looks like it just fits my personal color preferences. but also the og vid of this was so incredibly faded that im proud of the gifset bc i was still able to make the colors pop despite that!

3.) the 2023 wimbledon final lyric edit. this is the only gifset ive made for tennisblr that involves actual creative editing (bc its soooo much harder for me personally haha) and while its not perfect im still really proud of it! plus long live is one of my fave songs and yeah it just has my heart

4. A set that flopped but deserved better

flop is a bit of a misnomer bc i def had bigger flops numbers-wise but this gif of jannik's side profile in turin never got the notes that jannik gifs usually get. but its very dear to me because of the colors! and the light reflecting on his eye! and the shadows contrasting with the outline of his figure and his hair! like ugh prettyy

5. What is your favorite movie/TV show to gif

well i suppose i'll just answer this in terms of like, what form of tennis content i like to gif? cause i don't really gif movies or shows haha. but essentially my favorite content are videos outside the court where they follow players around an area or smth. like the turin media day (not the one with game, i mean the one that shows them walking around the halls and stuff). these things usually have great quality and cinematography, which makes for really pretty gifs!!!!

14. How long does it usually take you to make a set

it depends on how many individual gifs i have in it. generally i take 15-20 minutes per single gif. the first one in a set could take longer tho, bc that’s where i test out coloring. then, since my gifsets are usually from one continuous (or sorta continuous) film/video, i just copy those settings into the succeeding gifs and make minor adjustments if necessary

35. Do you change your giffing style a lot or do you have a set routine

i have a routine! and i actually talked about it in depth for an anon one time. ive been doing it that way since i first started giffing back in i believe december of 2021 (for my footy blog lmao) based on some random tutorials i found at the time. and it’s now the most comfortable way for me so i hardly ever change anything! if ever anything different happens, it’s gonna be in the specific methods i use for coloring. but the general style is the same

Cause I'm gay, let's go Putting the outfits in the order of when they appear in the film, rather than a ranked order. Since many get the same rating. Please take this with the lighthearted intent it was written in.

1. Sleeveless Madhouse. It’s very good. I like it a lot. We take note of the nail polish, we enjoy it while we can, it will disappear shortly. 8/10

2. The Flannel Trooper Technically this is the second outfit we see Hunter in. It belongs more to a later scene but that’s just this film’s odd relationship with continuity and time. It’s also his worst fucking outfit. I don’t know if he just does not suit plaid. I certainly think the jeans don’t quite work. Whatever it is, it’s not great. Love the Iron Maiden shirt, tho. 4/10

3. The Hidden Shock Shirt ft. The Jacket™ Solid outfit, love that edgy shit for Hunter. Want that shirt. Debut of the denim jacket. Sadly includes the grey jeans that I do not fuck with. 8/10.

4. Misfits At A Party We love an all black vibe. Striking Misfits skull, all around a great look. 9/10.

5. Judas Brat Another all black number. With or without the black denim jacket, it's a major vibe. I like the all-black converse. Very good. 9/10.

6. The Last Supper for Hunter's full head of hair. Second to worst outfit in my opinion. It's basically a copy of the third outfit but without any of the flavor. 5/10.

7. Slayer Shirt For The Hurt Calling this a comfort outfit. I like it a lot. Shirt looks kinda worn and soft and it’s a good level of oversized. Those fucking grey jeans again tho. But black converse, so~ 8/10.

8. No Sleeves No Chill Debut of the newly altered battle jacket as well as the earring. We also get the T-Shirt referencing the film's tagline, very good. The scribbled on 'tattoos' are so stupid and I love them. 9/10

9. The Violent Outfit Of Reason Back to all black! And it looks comfy. I love it. I actually really like the, what looks like, black cargo pants??? This outfit was me at 13. Seriously, it looks like it was plucked straight from my teenage closet. I'm gonna be biased. (Tbf I would 100% wear this now, as is the case for most of his outfits.) 9/10

10. Completely Gay The sleeveless shirts are a gift that keeps on giving. (also the faded shitty little scribbled on 'tattoos') 8/10

11. The Best Outfit This is it. This is the best one. Hands down, his best outfit. One may count the Rhoads as a part of the outfit idgaf, it’s his best outfits regardless. The silhouette, the battle jacket, the symbolism. Chef’s kiss. 10/10

12. Gym Shorts eheheheheheheheh look at him 7/10

13. Ready For Battle We’re considering the corpse paint as part of the outfit. It’s so very extra in the best way possible. The fact that they fit 2 continuity errors into 1 outfit and have the blue light randomly turn off, it's great. Bonus points for Demonias~ (That collar looks so uncomfortably snug tho but I wear them really fuckin' loose when I do so maybe this is normal?????) 9/10

14. Rehab Boy #1 I actually really like his rehab outfits???? Idk I think they're cute. I mean I don't fully get WHY Hunter has to wear sweats when everyone else in rehab seems to just be in their own clothes????? I'm guessing Alan "Father Of The Year" Sylvester, dropped him off without any change of clothes, so these were probably provided by the rehab center. 7.5/10

15. Rehab boy #2 See entry 14, but beige. 7.5/10

16. Battle Of The Bands I like it but I am SEVERELY disappointed by the LACK of eyeliner. I just think it could be more extra. Like mf really pulled out a custom Jackson but couldn't whack on some eyeliner or smth. We know Hunter can do extra, so give me extra. Still like it tho. 8/10

17. Reformed Asshole At first I really didn’t like how they put Hunter in a very light outfit now that he’s ‘nice’ like some cliche visual shorthand. But I’ve grown to love the outfit over time. It looks comfy. Cute hurt boy vibes imo. 9/10

Its a very adorable film with a bittersweet ending, theres a lot of charm in it, it's simple but effective, many people are saying is not great and maybe it isnt for them but for me and the girlies with abandonment issues it captures accurately the angst and the stages of grief, the heartbreak one goes through

it has some dark undertones at some point a crazy thought came across my mind that mmmayybe it was an allegory for the aids crisis? since its set in a similar timeline and idk maybe it resonates with the feeling of suddenly not being able to see someone You love and who suddenly falls ill and theres nothing you can do and you are forced to be removed of their side bc some arbitrary rules (the beach gets closed and robot stays there unable to move )

Idk there is many queer symbolism?

And signs of some sort of hostility towards robot and dog by the people around them (more towards robot) where people look down on robot meanwhile making use of his practical skills

Theres a scene where robot sees another unit like him and this one is almost in a cathatonic state and maybe is foreshadowing for whats to come for him since this happens before he gets stranded at the beach

Orr maybe mirror of what happens with units like him who get the joy to live sucked away from them by the society who mercessly uses them despite being totally cappable of displaying humanity as any other "animal" in there

Idk maybe it is just about the ups and downs of a very good friendship between a dog and a robot and is nothing more than that and i'm reading too much into it

Is pretty cute, youll never listen to September by earth wind and fire the same way

referencing this post :)

first one is timeloop!! of the same day, he gets somehow manages to get just enough control of his time travel to trap himself in a timeloop of the same day, memories not jumbled as they were before, but skip-y, like he has both versions, the real version, and XD's version, but as the same day goes by again and again more and more come back. no matter how hard he tries though, the day seems to end the same way, him shoving quackity off a cliff, accidentally hitting him instead of a zombie. they r cursed. etc. and at the end of everyday karl gets a choice to go back, like in a video game or smth etc. (normally he resets just as sapnap runs in the door, communicator in his hand to find karl covered in blood standing over quackity's body.)

karl slowly starts to realize that hes never going to be able to get out of this cycle, never get to escape without killing quackity. that the only way hes going to be able to get out of it until he accepts it, confronts what he did when sapnap gets there. so the tries that, he talks to sapnap and they try to accept it and sapnap is very angry but they somehow manage to make up and try to. do smth. move on figure smth out. they go to sleep. and guess what day karl wakes up on.

at this point hes getting really hopeless, miserable, sad, etc, and decides if this is his last chance, if this is all he has left before quackity dies, he wants to make up, wants to apologize for everything he said in the past that quackity remembers, and even what he doesnt. this goes poorly as quackity (not remembering the number of times karl has killed him before) assumes karl is making fun of him. and. well they fight again and that goes bottoms up and karl has seen this film before etc, but somehow, this time is different, and they manage to make up THEN END LOVE WINS!!!!!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

okay and option two is a little less sad and melodramatic etc and a little more back to the future but make it. uh. ????

anyway very similar start except from instead of karl accidentally sending himself into a timeloop, he accidentally (on purpose?) sends himself back to the day of the dethronement conflict. more specifically, just outside of some fight happening outside of the prime path. he barely recognizes himself at first. he recognizes quackity first though, almost as soon as he hears his voice. hes so much younger, so much more naive, but karl knows its him. just a second later, he recognizes sapnap, george, dream, and as the time travel nausea starts to fade, he starts to recognize himself too. they barely look like the same person anymore, he realizes slowly, sliding down behind a tree to steady himself while the fighting continues just a bit away.

hes not exactly sure why he's here, or even how he got all the way back here, but hes decided hes going to do everything he can to mkae the most of it, do a little back to the future and keep himself from forgetting, but more importantly keep q from dying. how is he going to figure this out you ask? well im not quite sure but i think maybe his communicator still kinda works so he can use that like that one phto from back to the future. his plan? he has to keep past!q from dying at technos execution. he tries but unfortunately he is a fool and a sad little noodle and he fucks it up and convinces q to convince tubbo to move up the schedule on the butcher army, and yeah, then quackity dies. fuck. this is tragic for karl, as he has just watched quackity die to his own hand and guess who he blames for thistoo!

lcukily for him, hes very used to watching people die in front of him. around this time, past!karl is taken for his very first tale! awh :)! cute!!! now!karl immediately remembers /that/, mourns his past self etc, but makes the most of it by doing his best to disguise himself as past!karl as quackity recovers, and they start to jump right back into work for el rapids, not yet christened yet. present!karl does his best to take care of quackity as he recovers, and does his best to tell him things that will keep him from getting hurt in the future. but he gets sad and ends up just awkwardly trying to make sure quackity knows karl loves him, that smth's wrong that he never would forget him etc. together they work on el rapids and whatnot, and then, the time when we get to the day where its pretty clear the same plot regarding framing eret.

guess who gets back its past!karl. present!karl finds him in the woods, sort of confused and small and just back from Time etc. but he has to let past!karl go, cant stop the el rapids plot. ofc he cant talk to his past self, but he figures as a last ditch effort, he can try to leave a message, one last message to his past self, one last chance to fix things. he tears out a photo from a locket or smth and writes a message on the back, smth to fix smth one last chance, and drops the locket into the leaves and waits. past karl picks it up, and present karl holds his breath and. past karl drops it and runs back out to their house as sapnap starts yelling looking for him.

and then karl has to accept that he failed. he cries its sad etc just then, to make matters worse, he starts getting sucked back to the present. he cant fight it he goes back etc. but to his surprise, he wakes up on the couch, in some, just a little different version of kinoko, with sapnap and quackity bent over him, looking worried. they look just a little different, that he remembers them, sapnaps got way more flashy gold jewelry and about seven earrings, the kind someone who often visits a casino might wear, and he looks less stressed, smile opener than karls seen it in a while; quackitys still in his suit, but he looks softer and less on edge, bandana and flowers in his hair, wings free and relaxed at his shoulders. but its them, and they look happy, they look so happy. its them :)

(at the end, after having a small discussion w his fiances and starts to realize what he managed to change, how they're all together and how nothings ever been wrong ever!! :D he finds a small silver locket in his hoodie pocket :))

it's not the coloring job i'm most proud of, far from that. actually in the tags of my post i clearly stated that i was unsatisfied with the quality of these myself so. not teaching me anything new here. but ok, too grainy, too dull, too grey, perhaps something like this would be more to your taste:

i am well aware that this kind of coloring is way more attractive than the one i settled on and that, chances are, my post would've gotten more engagement had i chosen this coloring for my post but i've let go of that mentality long ago

everyone approaches giffing differently and with different intentions. i'm personally not someone with a road map, i just go with the flow of whatever i feel like doing that day, my general ethos is to flatter the source material and/or its subject as much as possible, but i also like to experiment and try different things. to me, this coloring hereinabove strays too far from the original palette which makes the colors too unnatural and adds to the already considerable amount of artifact even with minimal sharpening. it's also very generic looking

it's funny to me that you picked that muddy puddle analogy, in an effort to upset me i presume, but I like that image actually. wasn't that the concept of the video to begin with? kyoong radio to cheer you up on a bleak, rainy day? i think that's why they made the artistic choice of filming in soft lighting, and going with the under-saturated, low contrast, "washed out" look. or at least, that's my interpretation of it. so even if it's not to your preference, i think i somewhat hit the mark with what i was originally trying to do

i personally don't think my gifs look too grey. i'm most disappointed that i couldn't recover more of baekhyun's skintone in the gifs that i posted, trust me i am, but i tried smth a little experimental and i'm still happy with how they came out, they remind me of old camcorder footage. i know that it is among my worst performing sets but like i said idc, i like them
