2. Favourite canon thing about this character?

His perseverance during the Dance. Something must have clicked in him that if he'd die in battle, his son would've lost his head for nothing. I think that's what kept him standing.

3. Least favourite thing about this character?

He's a rapist. 😭😭 I can shit on and roast the fuck out of Hotd writers for choosing to take the easy way out with him and set the virtuous rightful heir vs filthy usurper agenda but Aegon isn't getting a pass just because people handled his character badly.

For Aemond:

10. Could you be best friend with his character?

Honestly, I could talk to him about philosophy and history all day since he studies them and they're the reason I get up and breathe every day. Although it would probably be me talking to a wall cause I don't think he's really talkative alright. 😂

14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.

Oh, you know this guy is going for the goth look. Just look at his canon clothing already. Look at his wife. She's probably choosing his clothes.

For Daemon:

24. What other character from another fandom of yours reminds you of them?

Thorkell or Askeladd both from Vinland Saga. The former just went to war and fought and killed just to spread chaos and have fun and Askeladd was a great tactician even though his plans were fucking CRAZY 😭 (This dude made his men carry ships ON LAND.) I think both of them got a bit of Daemon in them, one his brutality and the other his wits.

I am having problems with commenting on AO3 so I decided to leave a tiny comment on the new chapter of PP here.

So, it`s official now!😉 Really excited to see where the story goes next, for everyone involved.

I just love the way you write the bond between Rhaena and Helaena, ever growing in strength. "Well, I think you see life a little too simply, sweet sister" is my favorite quote from this chapter. Rhaena might be right - but so could be Helaena. Quite often, there is much truth and beauty to be found in simplicity.

Aemond listening to the voice of reason (in this case it would be Ser Crenshaw) - only to have this voice silenced by feelings. Interesting... Good for him, I guess - or is it?😈

And Daeron is back! Targtowers are about to get back together🤩

Awww!! Thank you so much for reading. I also really LOVE Helaena and Rhaena's friendship!! We were robbed of meaningful friendships among the family in hotd, so I'm glad to write it here.

Today's Matt Smith post reminded me about something I've meant to ask you for ages🤔😉

It might be too early to speculate about but still: how, in your opinion, will HotD go about Daemon's fate after the Gods Eye? Will they leave it completely undetermined, tell the story outright or opt for heavily hinting at the 'truth' with some room for doubt left? And if they choose either the 'tell' or the 'hint' scenario, what will be the lot they'll grant him? I have some thoughts on it but for now don't feel confident enough to place the final bet on either option.

P.S. On a completely unrelated note: I started watching "The Bear", and wanted to thank you for your indirect recommendation as your posts about this show heavily influenced my choice😊 I'm only 3 eps in but already enjoying the deliciously chaotic energy of the story that has just begun to take shape - and loving the absolute hell out of Syd.

Sorry for the late response. I'm only now just sifting through to this Ask!

Hmmm. Let's see. I'm very skeptical about the show letting Daemon live (I suppose that is the main concern here?)

On the one hand, I don't think it's impossible. Daemon is a fan favorite, and much as Ryan loves to diss him, he respects and admires Matt Smith as the veteran of talent he is.

Conversely, I think Ryan could fear shattering the stakes of the fight by letting Daemon get an easy way out...? And let's not even mention the rabid book fans/Daemon×Rhaenyra cultists who would totally lose it if Daemon indeed lived to continue his days with Nettles. 👀👀 Ryan's dealt with fandom condemnation before and it would take balls of steel to subvert the expectations of many who truly believe Daemon sacrificed himself for his Queen or for self vindication?

From all angles I don't see Daemon doing anything other than sinking to the depths with Aemond in a poetic and tragic curtain dropping finale...but maybe the writers or GRRM will want otherwise in the end. Who knows? I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I'm excited for either outcome tbh, if the scenes are executed well and make sense.
