↳ a continuation of my last post (read it here) since it was fun to write and i think it’d be nice to continue bc i’m so many ideas. anyway the synopsis for the last post was:

“a kinda (barely) angsty-hurty/comfort-maybe-ish-sorta (?) unpolished short-tiny-small-lazy fic where blade dies so you gotta drag him back home and wait for him to heal himself back to life or wtv” which makes complete sense

in this post, you bring blade home with the help of kafka and take care of him as he recovers.

“[name].” She leaned in, grabbing the phone out of your hands and scaring your spirit out of your body.

“*Xianzhou profanity*! Kafka! Oh… you scared me.” You rub your forehead. Your splitting migraine had only worsened after Kafka’s sudden appearance.

“How’d you make it here so fast? I mean, I thought you were on-“

“I thought you wanted to get him home first. You can ask as many questions as you’d like after, hm?” She always had a tendency to cut you off. You leer at her before responding.

“…Right, yeah. Yeah… we should, uh, get him home first. Okay. Let’s… let’s go.”

“Are you alright there, [name]?” She giggles, bringing her face closer to yours. “You sound… nervous.” Tension grows in your brain as if it were being pulled on.

“Sorry. Just a headache. How’ve you been?” You try to make some small talk to distract yourself. Though Kafka doesn’t reply. Your hands grapple for Blade’s forearms while Kafka reaches for his legs, the two of you easily lifting him off the ground. His body dangles so limply that it causes you to wince.

“I can carry him myself, if you’d prefer,” she offers. “Blade isn’t the easiest to bring around.”

“No.”

“No?” Kafka lets out a soft snicker, her voice soft and sultry as usual. “And why’s that?”

“Because I want to help carry him.” You walk backwards, trying to maneuver Blade through a fence.

“You’re struggling, dear. Maybe I should just-“

“I’m fine, Kafka.”

It’s been several hours now. You’re tired and thirsty and hungry and in pain. Everything is sore and you’re not sure how much longer you can walk.

“Kafka? I… I don’t think I can walk any further.” She sighs as you screech to a halt. You set Blade down as gently as you can, his arms bouncing as the collide with the ground.

“I can tell. I told you before, didn’t I? You can walk home. Bladie and I will follow. Get some rest, [name].” Despite her kind words, Kafka’s ‘I told you so’ smirk makes you internally groan.

You crash through the door, kicking off your shoes as you race to the bedroom. From the nightstand, you snatch up some first aid supplies — a roll of bandages, rubbing alcohol, and an antibiotic ointment. You’ve treated Blade’s minor injuries before but never lethal ones. Cuts and scrapes were what he came to you for, not enormous gashes.

“Kafka…? Will this be enough?” Your head turns to the doorway as she pulls Blade along, gracefully lifting him onto the bed. There was poise in every little movement of hers, even while carrying corpses.

“Sure,” she answers. Vague answers were the bane of your existence. Maybe Kafka in general was the bane of your existence. Like true in-laws, you didn’t really get along with any of the other Stellaron Hunters, either. Their line of work was… questionable, and they were an interesting bunch.

“Would you like me to stay and help, dear?” Kafka asked, staring at you intently. Her eyes always freaked you out a little. You can’t help but look towards her ear instead. From her earlobe dangles a glistening pearl earring.

“I can take care of him on my own, don’t worry.” You give her a tired, pathetic thumbs up as reassurance. “He’s in good hands.”

As Kafka leaves the room, Blade begins to stir. His eyes tightly shut as he rustles around on the bed. You’re at his side immediately.

“Blade? Don’t move, please. I’m gonna patch you up first.” You’ve never been good with your hands and you weren’t exactly a doctor, but you’d be damned if you didn’t at least try. He opens his eyes and glances up at you. Blade looks exhausted. As if he was on the cusp of achieving a goal he’s dreamt of all his life, but failed just at the finish line.

“Are you alright? You look so sad.”

“I’m fine,” he answers, his tone clipped. It’s evident that he was holding out hope; hope that perhaps this would be the last death of his.

“Sit up for me. I need to see your stomach.” His tailcoat has a long cut at the front, though it was hard to see much due to the drying blood. Blade did as you asked, dangling his legs off the edge of the bed and leaning on you for support. You hold up his upper body with one hand while the other undoes his button. It pops open without much resistance. He doesn’t seem to be looking at you as you slowly slide his sleeves off his arms. The sight is… not as gory as you’d prepared for. Blood coats most of his chest, and thankfully, it’s all you can see.

“I’ll be right back, Blade. I have to get a towel.”

After a gruelling few minutes of bandaging his wounds, you toss him one of your shirts. It’s a little small on him, tightening around every one of his curves, outlining his figure perfectly. Maybe you liked seeing him wearing your clothes.

“How do you feel? Is everything okay?” He nods in reply.

“Blade? You look… just adorable right now.” You lean in close and pinch his cheek. He doesn’t seem to have a reaction, but you swear you can see a hint of redness on his face.

Then, you hear the ding of a notification coming from your pocket. You take out the phone to be greeted with another text from a Stellaron Hunter.

“…What are you doing?” Blade stands up, leaning over to see what you’re doing on his phone. You turn it off before putting it back into your pocket.

“You got a few texts from Sam, so I thought I’d respond. They were just… checking up on you.”

“Mmh.” He sits back down onto the bed. Your hand reaches out to support him as he does so.

“Are you hungry? Thirsty? Need anything?”

“…Just you,” Blade sighs. The sudden silence of the room fills you with a quiet peace. Like, despite just seeing your lover dead, everything might turn out okay. Blade lays down and you decide to join him, right by his side. His arm wraps around your waist, limply pulling you close to himself. A feeling of warmth fills your heart as he spoons you. Then, in that moment, you’re sure that everything will turn out okay.

1- who is/are your comfort character(s)? There’s alot but I’ll name the main ones: Asahi from hq- I love an anxious big boy who can help me when i’m going through it™, Furihata from knb- the amount of times I quote him or use his arc in canon & fanfic to inspire myself as well as those around me (as you know firsthand) is astronomical, and lastly Akashi from knb- sometimes you just need to look at a badass with familial trauma conquering life and say “yeah i can do that too” just you know, minus the scissor stabbing jfdsklaf

7- hair-ties or scrunchies? I like the appeal and aesthetic of scrunchies but it doesn’t work with my hair- I have very thick hair. I have to use special wider hair-ties to pull back and keep my hair up.

15. are you a parent? (all answers qualify) To all characters from hq, yes. As well as to a 2 yr old fern-ish plant named Yams after a hq character and a fresh basil plant that I found at a farmer’s market last week, still need to think of a name for them

26. a scenario that you’ve replayed multiple times? Fun writerly answer: In my wip the moment Akashi hears that Furihata died. I think about the pain, the anguish, the guilt, the anger, the revenge. Specifically, this dialogue exchange: Nash has to pay. Weak and broken, his lips barely move. “I can’t leave him.” Then let me. Angsty too true answer: A night almost a year ago when I finally met someone I’d been waiting to meet for over a year and half.

32. do you have a favorite towel? Yes! I have two. One is a mint green with white decorative stitching and the other is a fluffy soft turquoise.

48. when did you first try an alcohol beverage? February of 2021. I was 21 years old and it was spawned by two things: recently watching a rank king video of eugene ranking cheap wines and me wanting to break out of the psychological prison I was in with my religious upbringing or at least start to break out. I went to a local wine and coffee store, did my best to find something that I thought I would enjoy, it was like a dry cherry flavor. I took it to my apartment, made sure it was a night when they were all gone for the evening since they were also part of my church that I was rebelling against, was terrified of it spilling everywhere so I opened it in the sink. Took a swig and winced. I ended up mixing some chocolate syrup in my wine glass with it and it helped make it tolerable. I couldn’t finish it all so I ended up pouring a third down the drain of my shared shower because I didn't want any evidence of my sins fjdsklfjk

3. What fandoms do you write for?

right now its only Macgyver(2016) and Call of Duty! I've made a marvel crossover, but not anything else. Once I'm done with uni and actually have the time to write and see shows without feeling like I should be doing other stuff, I will definitely write for more! I want to write something for stuff like Knives out, Phantom of the Opera, Star wars -- but mainly a ton of Macgyver and call of duty, lol

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? well, they've changed quite recently, since i jumped headfirst into the COD fandom and was welcomed very nicely! So, right now, theyre:

Yes, or I try now! It was easier when I was only in the macgyver fandom, since it is much smaller, but now in the Call of Duty fandom, i'm afraid I simply cannot keep up! So if I don’t reply to your comment, I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be rude or anything!👉👈

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

phew, that is one good question, because I honestly don't know. I have a tendency to end things either happy and hopeful like, or dark and like, with the vibe of things just being uncertain but not necersarily angsty? Lmk if im wrong lmao. I think the closest is in A dog needs a garden, but then again, its not really angsty - at least not to the characters. just... dark.🤷‍♀️

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

hm. I mean, in my two fics Sir and his good boy and my baby’s got a gun (that I struggle to read myself now bc while I do have a soft spot for them, I hate my writing lol.) I make poor Mac go through a lot of shit, and they both end up on a happy or hopeful note- so those two, I guess? For now, heh.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

mmm, not really. When I do get some questionable comments, I either just answer in a jokingly manner or ignore it. I think I've only deleted one comment, lol. 💀

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

hah, YES. what don't I write. Despite being ace and not really being interested in sex irl, I sure do write a lot of smutty smut. I mostly write kinky stuff, a lot of BDSM ones. A lot of darker stuff too. I mean, out of 53 fics I think maybe 13 ish of them doesn’t have smut in them? So yeah, I write a bunch of smut.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Well, I've only written three (so far) lol. Two of them was just... Angus Macgyver and Jack Dalton having a threesome with a character from a different fandom, LMAO. I've written them having a threesome with Bucky Barnes from marvel and then one with Simon Ghost Riley from Call of Duty. The craziest one technically isn’t a crossover lmao, more just the fact that I made twilight vampires canon in a Macgyver fic I wrote once 💀😂 it’s called this is the skin of a killer, Jack and yes, I find it funny and stupid myself.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I hope not, lol. So no, at least not that I know of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Uh, no, again, not that I know of, lmao.👀

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Mmm, not technically, no. I don't talk often with a lot of fanfic writers, (im shy and idk how to become friends with people) but I do have 2 wonderful sweet friends I met through the macgyver fandom, whom i'm very grateful for and love lots. (They adopted my imposter ass who hadn’t even seen the show) They have managed to deal w my annoying ass for like... almost 2 years, I think and somehow isn't scared away yet. So, what I was going with that is, no, i've not co-written anything, but they do spar a lot with me and we discuss ideas and such, hehe. They've def helped me with a lot of fics.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

That is one good question that I honestly don't know the answer of. I'm pretty open to most ships, as long as they're written well in the fic or the show. (and legal. and not *ncest or pseudo *ncest.)

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

don't call me out like this, I have a lot of WIPS. But honestly? Probably Wet footprints on the wooden floor (Macgyver). A part of me wants to, but its been like 1,5year or so, i think. At this point I would probably just delete it, then rewrite the entire thing and post it again, lol, because I do like the concept.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I don't know, actually. I like to think I write somewhat interesting plots whenever I'm trying not to just write pure smut. But eh, idk. I think I have an okay sense of humor too? but I am also biased.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Weird sentences! English isn't my first language, Danish is! and the structure of a sentence can be very different in Danish, so sometimes my English sentences ends up weird bc they're translated, lol. I'm working on it and I have definitely become better ver since writing my first fanfic, lol.🤷‍♀️

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I like to read it, but I struggle with writing it! It's hard, especially when you dont speak a certain language. I sometimes go with google translate, but I've tried just writing it like this when its in another language, lol. so ye, fun but hard.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Eh, i mean, I wrote a fanfic or two when I was like 15 or something, but I cannot, for the life of me, remember what for. probably marvel or twilight or something😂

If we go with the boolger account time-line, then it's Macgyver!

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

don't make me choose between my babies. So I shall cheat the system and mention some of my fav.

The many deaths of a phoenix(macgyver), since I like the plot ideas lol, even though I feel stuck with it atm.

Lovers in the garden of Eden (macgyver) (dead dove dont eat) which is def fucked up, not the worst kind I've written but still. It has a special place in my dark, f'ed up heart. 🖤

Do you think I'm broken? (macgyver) bc I tried to voice a lot of my own gender struggles through it lol.

i ran out of parswoops content to read so now i made some. i admit it! i caved! i wrote fanfic about quiet possibly one of my least favorite characters in canon (like i love his characterization but he’s a dick). also hello, people who requested prompts...i swear i’m working on them...pinky promise. anyways, enjoy some more angsty pining because that’s apparently all i can write! comments and constructive criticism are appreciated! 🥰

Jeff’s always known that Kent’s eyes were pretty. Even when they first met. Kent looked him right in the eyes and said “Welcome to the Aces man.” And Swoops, being an absolute gay disaster was only thinking about how beautiful this blond man’s eyes were.

They’re a gray color, almost resembling a clouded sky. And they even change color depending on how you look at them. They’ll turn blue-ish shade when he’s on the ice. In the locker room light, they almost look like a green-ish hazel. When’s he’s upset, they’ll turn a stormy gray. When he’s happy, they’ll get lighter. Sometimes, despite their harsh and stony color, Jeff swears he’s seen the softest expressions reflected in them.

The problem is that he’s never on the receiving end of them.

At this point, he wouldn’t be surprised if only two people have been on the receiving end of Kent’s trademarked soft looks: Kitt Purrson (who’s not even a person), and Jack Zimmermann. The two loves of Kent’s life. And besides the obvious reason that Kit is an adorable cat, Swoops isn’t sure why.

Kit’s not even a person and can’t talk. Jack has clearly stated, for whatever reason, that he doesn’t want Kent in his life anymore. Jeff suspects it has something to do with Jack’s overdose, and honestly doesn’t blame him. If he overdosed, he wouldn’t want someone who reminded him of it around anymore either.

But Kent is one stubborn bastard, and won’t let go. He wants to hold on because letting go means accepting that it’s over, whatever their relationship was. Kent’s abandonment issues run deep, and this situation isn’t helping them.

So every time Kent decides to try and bring Jack back (and inevitably fails), Swoops is there to try and comfort him. He’s there if Kent needs to cry. He’s ready with Mean Girls and Legally Blonde. And he’s there if Kent just wants to sit in silence.

But every time it happens, Jeff is forced to look at Kent’s eyes. He’s forced to witness the stony gray crack and splinter into cracks. He’s forced to watch them get glassy and wet with tears. He’s forced to watch Kent break down, lower the rock-hard walls he keeps up, left with this cracked part of himself. It’s honestly heartbreaking to witness.

Kent’s always been this strong figure on the Aces. He’s the captain. He’s the one everyone went to when they need support. He’s the one they can depend on to bring up morale when they’re losing. He always knows what to say to kick them into gear at practice. He’s Kent fucking Parson. The first draft pick all those years ago. He’s Las Vegas’s golden boy. He’s one of the best players in the league. And Swoops has to watch him curl into himself and go silent.

Maybe it’d hurt less if Jeff wasn’t halfway to being in love with him.

Yeah, it definitely wouldn’t hurt him as much if Kent didn’t make his stomach jump with butterflies every time he gave him a side hug as they walked back to the locker room. Or when he smiles so wide, eyes squeezed shut, at Jeff, who would give up his place in the NHL if Kent would keep doing it. Or when Kent invites him over and they watch tape together on the couch, Kitt (who took a liking to Jeff, much to Kent’s amusement) curled up next to them.

But Jeff’s a masochist on a bad day, and an idiot at his best, so he’s stuck being in love with his best friend, and captain. The captain that’s hung up on his ex. The best friend who looks to Jeff for comfort when he’s heartbroken because he’s in love with someone else. So he just swallows down the pain he feels when Kent whimpers “Why doesn’t he love me?” into his chest, and wraps his arms around Kent even tighter.

Maybe if he hadn’t looked into Kent’s eyes on his first day on the Aces, Kent wouldn’t have decided to steal his heart. And maybe, Jeff wouldn’t have let him.

Abolutely. Pretty much always, I’ve been lucky with comments and gotten some really nice ones and I love getting to have more of a conversation in the comments. Talk to me whenever tbh I crave interaction.

Hmmm none of them? This one really short Solavellan piece? The Merrill Sessions might have a kind of angsty one if I ever...write it.

What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

Twelve Nights has the most predictable, tropey, perfect Hallmark Movie Ending ever and I love it very much.

Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you've written?

Not yet! I do love a good AU though so if the right world presents itself I could see that happening.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Nope! I’ve had largely positive responses or just no response at all :p

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Ehh kinda. My favourite stories to write tend to involve romance and quite a few of my fics have Sex Scenes but I tend to write soft-core, feelings-y smut when I do. The couple more explicitly smutty fics I’ve written just made me feel super self conscious and they always feel clunky to me, idk, but I really love an overly romantic (in the flowery prose sense not necesarrily the LOVE sense but also, usually) sex scene, they’re fun to write! Finding the mood to write anything more explicit is hard though so even though I have some ideas it’s slow going.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not as far as I know.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not translated but @protect-him was kind enough to do a podfic of Like Raindrops which was super cool!

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No but I’d be down! HMU.

What's your all time favourite ship?

Pavellan.......

What's a WIP you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

The Merrill Sessions...I left it in a good place so it’s easy to take a long break from but there IS supposed to be more. Eventually. Maybe. Also probably just straight up abandoning my DAI novelfication fic because honestly, it’s kind of boring and was mostly a place for me to dump my canon-ish daydreams when I first played the game. It has a special place in my heart as being the first fanfic I ever wrote, but like, I’m probably gonna straight delete that from AO3 it’s really For Me. (and I’m definitely never going to finish it lol)

What are your writing strengths?

Supposedly, characterization and scenery descriptions! At least that’s where the nice comments seem to be focused ;) Characterization is something that comes easily to me and I tend to be very proud of my work there, descriptive scenes were something I worked hard on this year and just really really love as well. I’d like to think my terrible jokes are also a strength, but that’s probably just me.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Planning/plotting. I’m definitely guilty of starting things with a good idea that’s based almost entirely in character work and not attached to a plot, so I’ve had a few meandering plots and unfinished things that just kind of...don’t go anywhere. These days I’m outlining ahead a lot more but endings are still pretty tough! Oh also “this is going to be like two chapters” gets me every time.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

Totally fine just make it work? I dislike fictional languages that don’t really have much to them, so I try to use them kind of sparingly and tend to describe that something is said in another language rather than trying to put a bunch of like, elvhen in. (Because DA Elvhen sucks. A LOTR fic would be another story, but then I’d probably spend ages on being a perfectionist about the language because I feel like if you’re gonna do TOLKIEN boy you gotta) So I’ll use or make up a word here or there but I prefer the language I use to be something I can actually work with. But I think there are lots of ways to approach a multilingual work that could be cool. I’d consider using French or something I actually know in a more in-depth way sometime.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Dragon Age! A good three or four years before I started posting any of it lol.

What's your favourite fic you've written?

Twelve Nights for multiple reasons. It’s finished (!), it was the first longfic I ever did finish (!!), and IMO it’s impecable. I put so much heart and soul into that fic and it was such a joy to write. It’s basically a feel-good movie with a socialist subplot. I love it a lot. But! Matchsies is quickly becoming a close second, which is fun because it has Magic and Angst.

Hello, so after many people agreeing on this, I decided to make my own master list of White Rose (whiterose, iceflower, etc) fanfics on here to share with everyone! After this, I’ll probably post a weekly or bimonthly recommendation list :)

Please remember: This is my personal list, based on my personal own likes and tastes so, please don’t expect all of these to be to your liking.

So, I’ll be organizing this with the categories of Canon Divergence and AUs then I’ll have angst or fluff and some descriptions in parenthesis. If that doesn’t seem to work then feedback is welcome!

Note: Not all of these stories will be completely white rose, but most are purely them or have a big significance to them, and they’ll be a random mix from both AO3 and FF. Also, I decided not to add links because tumblr has a limit on those, so I know it’s a little inconvenient but I just encourage you all to look up the titles! Day 4 RNM Creators Appreciation Week- Fluff

So apparently 90% of the things I read and reblog are super angsty because it took me a while to find some of my favorite fluff, but it is there! Thank goodness, because sometimes we need that after all the canon and fandom angst that gets thrown at us.

Fics:

“For fuck’s sake, guys! We’re NOT dating” by @bestillmyslashyheart. Ok I loved this fic so much. I thought fake dating was my favorite trope, but “we are dating but we didn’t quite realize it” might actually be my favorite. Also, I am always in awe at how good @bestillmyslashyheart‘s fics always are and how many there are! We are truly blessed as a fandom.

You’ll be Loved, Like You Never Had Known by @andrea-lyn. Another one of this fandom’s amazingly prolific writers! I love this fic of teen Michael figuring out that he was crushing on Alex. The characterization is just so good, and you just want to squeel at the cuteness the whole time you are reading it.

Domestic Fluff by @spaceskam. [I don’t think this has a title, but sorry if it does!] As you might guess from my made up title, this is pure domestic fluff and I’m obsessed with it. Michael and Alex just building a life together and figuring out how to help each other feel loved. It is so so good. Again, @spaceskam graces this fandom with so many fics that are all so good.

Learning to Love you Right by @mansikkaomenabanaani. So this is a three fic series, and it starts out a little angsty, but by part 3 it is pure, gooey, heartwarming, fluff that I just can’t get enough of. It is a slow, realistic build to a healthy relationship, where Michael gets to have a fulfilling life full of friends, and also Alex. I love it so much.

Soft + Malex by @partsofthesamecosmicbeing. So when she’s not killing us with angst, she writes such good fluff! This one is short and sweet, and just some domestic caretaking future Malex. We just have to hold on hope that we are going to get there! Anyways, I love this and everything Ly writes.

The Real Thirsty Housewives of Roswell, NM by @michaels-blackhat. Ok I don’t know if this counts as fluff or not, but it is hilarious! If you haven’t read this, you’re missing out and must rectify it immediately. I’ve never laughed so hard in my life.

that which the world knows not by @seeaddywrite. An Echo fic! Also, it might be stretching it to call this fluff. There’s some Max angst in here too, but enough very sweet and happy-ish Echo moments that I am counting it as fluff. This is a post 1x09, Liz comforting Max and it is emotional and sweet, with great LIz characterization. With all the Malex on this list, I wanted to put on some Echo too!

Malex + holy shit what a way to wake up by @bisexualalienblast. I mean every time I try to reblog this I have to appeal because tumblr thinks it’s porn, but it is pure, pure fluff. The stuff fanfic fever dreams are made of. I mean, “you stayed”, it’s just...I can’t.

I close my eyes and the flashbacks start by @amyjake. I mean teen Malex and Taylor Swift! Yes, please.

Family by @suzteel. I feel like this counts as fluff! It’s family loving each other and that touches my heart, so I’m counting it. I love this set and all these relationships.

A trip to Redcliffe to make reparations for the Mage Rebellion brings more complications than expected when rooms run short and the naive Inquisitor finds herself in close quarters with the man she can't possibly ever have - her smirking Commander. Currently ongoing,

Look What You’ve Done to Me - Inquisitor Brittany loves the sound of her Commander's voice. It's too bad that she doesn't always pay attention to his actual words. He takes exception to her inattention and leaves the War Room in a huff, but she can't leave well enough alone. She visits him in his tower and gets more than she bargained for, and everything she wanted at the same time.

The Strength That Keeps Me Walking – (Formerly Lavender, Peppermint, Verbena, & Fennel) A retelling of Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme from Cullen’s POV. Currently ongoing.

Sin in Heaven – Cullen is a recovering lyrium addict in this modern AU set in modern Thedas. He moves into an affordable apartment, but his roommate turns out to be a drop-dead gorgeous young college student. Can he resist her while he tries to pull his life together, or will he surrender to sin in heaven? Currently ongoing,

The Intimidating Commander and the Reluctant Messenger: Featuring a female Trevelyan who is a little scared of the stern Commander because she is a Mage and knows he used to be a Templar. This is my first DA fanfic and is quite rough around the edges. I might revisit it someday to expand it into a proper story. Fun fact: this idea came about because when I first played DA-I, I was a little intimidated by Cullen. Lol

Cullen’s Treat: A Trevelyan Mage Inquisitor treats Cullen to a special massage after he’s had a particularly rough week. This came from a Kink-meme prompt, one of the first I did. If you read enough of my stories, then you’ll quickly find out that I enjoy writing about taking care of Cullen, because he deserves it.

It Happened on a Night at Halamshiral: This one-shot came out of a kink-meme prompt about Cullen’s Orlesian admirers getting a bit more forceful with their desires than they do in canon. This story does include non-con sex, so if that triggers you in any way, please do not read this. It was very tough to write, but I am quite proud of this story and feel that it expanded my depth as a writer.

Fall Into Your Sunlight Featuring Cullen and a Female Trevelyan enjoying life after Trespasser. This came about because I was inspired by a Cullen romance video that someone made, and this just spilled out of me. It’s a smutty, fluffy, feel-good fic if you’re into that.

Trying Not To Love You: This is my first attempt at a proper long-ish fic and features a female Mage Trevelyan Inquisitor, and of course, the Commander.Told from the first person perspective of Cullen himself, it tells the story of how he falls in love with his young and beautiful. Inquisitor, even though he knows he shouldn’t. I had fun writing this, so I hope that if you haven’t read it already, you’ll give it a try.

Learning to Please Him: Featuring the same Evelyn and her Commander from Trying Not To Love You, young Evelyn wants to learn how to please Cullen orally. Yes, it’s a blowjob fic. Lol

One Good Turn Deserves Another (Or Cullen Repays the Inquisitor): Again featuring the lovebirds from Trying Not To Love You and Learning to Please Him, this fic is about Cullenlingus, and that’s all I’ll say.

Oil and Fantasy: Cullen takes himself in hand. Enough said.

Oakmoss and Elderflower and The Girl Can’t Help It are related to the headcanon about Cullen using oakmoss and elderflower as a remedy for his aches and pains due to his lyrium withdrawal. This headcanon came out as a result of a snippet of dialogue from an NPC in DA-I multiplayer about how the Commander smells of oakmoss and elderflower. See? I really do love writing about caring for Cullen. His pain makes my heart hurt!

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme: Featuring the OC I created in The Girl Can’t Help It, a healer is assigned to take care of the Commander, and ends up falling in love with him. The problem is, he’s in love with someone else. Is there any hope for healer Eala, or is she doomed to heartbreak? And yes, this fic features copious caring for Cullen. It’s my kink, okay?

And the Stars Belong to Us: This fic is an add-on to Parsley and features Eala and Cullen enjoying some alone time. I wrote it in response to a question I received in the comments of the main fic.

One Night in Skyhold: Another kink-meme related fic, this one features a frustrated Cullen taking what he wants from his beautiful female Trevelyan Inquisitor. She loves it.

In the Heat of Summer: A vague female Inquisitor watches her Commander sparring with the Iron Bull on a hot summer’s day. Cullen is not wearing his shirt. This is a shameless excuse for describing Cullen shirtless. I admit it. I am trash.

A Soft Place to Fall: Umm, this one-shot is set vaguely in modern Thedas and features Cullen and a female Trevelyan letting off some steam together. Cullen is kind of dark in this — IDK — I was listening to a lot of angsty music when I came up with this.

Right Here: This angsty one-shot examines the question of how Cullen would react if Lavellan becomes involved with him after Solas leaves and subsequently marries him in Trespasser only to ultimately abandon him for Solas. This fic features suicide, so if you are sensitive to that subject, please do not read this.

Shiver: The first and only second-person pov fic I have ever written. You and Cullen have some special time alone together. That’s all. ;)

The Commander and His Hand The Commander releasing a little tension told from his first-person perspective. Yeah, I really am trash.

The Voyeur: This little two-chapter fic started out as a one-shot featuring a young Trevelyan Inquisitor who gets tricked by Sera into entering the Commander’s quarters when he’s not there and winds up seeing him taking care of business. It turned into more when some commenters requested a follow-up chapter. I am so much Cullen-trash, at this point, there is no hope for me.

Pidge and Lance dominate, obviously. Pidge also tends to dominate by gen stuff, with Allura possibly coming in second. Poor Shiro and Keith (though i still love them) kinda......lose

Characters that had the main focus: Pidge in much of my plance and gen stuff, Lance in much of my plance stuff, Allura in a decent amount of my gen stuff as well as in that languishing kallura fic

Specifics:

Best/worst title? Best title: None really jump out at me, but I think‘Build on Shaky Ground’. Also before i suffer some serious post-posting (hehe) embarrassment, I’ve titled this brand-spanking new fic ‘The Start of Something New?’ (the question mark is compulsory) and i’m way too proud of myself for that reference to HSM at the moment. Honorable mention to ‘Search and Rescue’ for sounding more serious than the fic’s plot actually is

Worst title: I’m actually displeased with most, but only ‘Smuggle Your Heart’ makes me cringe every time I see it

Best/worst first line? Best: not sure but as i look now the first line from this fic gave me a good laugh:

Lance thought that after two years in space fighting furry purple aliens while flying a sentient robot lion that merged with four other sentient robot lions to form one large robot man nothing could possible surprise him.

Worst: if i actually took the time to look through all my fics, i’d probably find so many awful first lines, but i’m too lazy so this one is a weak first line from my one and only shallura fic:

Shiro had never seen Matt and Pidge happier.

Best/worst last line? Best: uh to be honest i think they’re all kinda bad but here are a couple funny ones (from this and this) that don’t require much work on my part sorry i’m lazy:

Lance watched him go for a tic, shrugged, and went off in search of someone else to bother, preferably someone he would not mind kissing.

“It was strange enough that I actually don’t want to forget, so listen closely, because I won’t tell it twice.”

Worst: point at any one of my fics. i’m never happy with the Last Line. but here from Shopping for Disaster (it makes sense in context):

definitely VLD in general, because i was still...hesitant to get into it?? i didn’t watch it till spring of this year 2017 a few months after season 2 came out, i think What’s your favorite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest.

There’s this one (named ‘Siren Song’) that has yet to be posted into my collection on ao3 and it’s a concept i very much want to expand into a fully fledged long fic. and, to be honest, i thought it would get more notes than it did

Okay, taking recent fic into account (because i do think i’ve improved overall even in the last few months), i wish i’d spent more time and put more effort into ‘Shopping for Disaster’, especially with making the action scenes more plausible, making the Druid scarier (because i want to get better at writing horror, believe it or not), etc. Pro tip though: don’t write while you have a headache

And actually now that i think of it, I would scrap all of ‘Wisdom of Hindsight’ because it’s awful and uses a trope i really hate

Sexiest story?

sex?? in my fanfic??

but anyway!! hmm...’The Art of Seduction’ probably had the most graphic (except also not really) makeout scene. ‘Propriety’ (part of the collection) was almost definitely the most suggestive. ‘Howl at the Moon’ had the double whammy of a fakeout makeout and a fake marriage along with the kiss at the very end of the fic. so i dunno, i guess it’s in the eye of the beholder??

as far as vibe is concerned though, i actually think ‘Smuggle Your Heart’ is kinda...sexy?? *shrugs* Saddest story?

‘Specter’ without a doubt. *cue evil laughter* Most fun?

‘Smuggle Your Heart’ was actually wildly fun to write. i was really into action scenes at the time

Story with single sweetest moment?

not sure, but in my humble opinion it would the majority of ‘Burnout’ (also from the collection), particularly this sizeable bit:

Pidge would never admit it to anyone - except to Lance himself, maybe - but she liked it when he clung to her like this, or when she latched herself onto him. There was just something soothing about having another human body pressed against hers, a balm for the mind and a relaxant for the muscles.

Some of the tension trickled out of her as she leaned back into Lance, and his arms tightened around her, sensing her need.

“Guess what?” Lance said, voice soft and close to her ear.

“…did Coran get his hand stuck in something weird again?”

Lance rubbed his nose - scratching, probably - against the side of her head, then chuckled, the vibration reverberating from his chest into her back. “No,” he said. “Try again.”

“Hunk figured out a way to imitate peanut butter?”

“All right, you get one more guess before I tell you.”

Pidge rolled her eyes but said, “Did you finally find out how to swim in the upside down pool?”

“Oh, ha ha, very funny, Pidge,” Lance grumbled.

For some reason, that made her giggle, if only because the image of Lance’s last pitiful attempt to swim laps in the Castle’s pool cheered her.

“So…what?” Pidge said, turning her head slightly so that Lance could see her frown. Of course he would dangle a mystery in front of her without giving her a chance to solve it…

“I love you,” he said, pressing a doting kiss to her forehead.

Pidge’s face flushed, pleased and embarrassed all at the same time, her worries dissolving as easily as sugar in hot tea. “So?” she said, trying to show him how unaffected she was. “I love you too, so it’s not that special.”

“But you are, Pidge,” Lance said. He buried his face in her hair. “You’re special, and smart, and confident, and we wouldn’t be able to function without you. And anytime you’re faced with a challenge, it bows down to you, its queen - wait, no, it’s empress.”

Pidge laughed and rubbed her face. “Oh my God, Lance,” she said. “That’s the cheesiest thing you’ve ever said to me.”

“But it’s true,” Lance insisted. “And I know for a fact you love being praised.”

“Well…”

Lance let go of her and moved away, and Pidge missed him instantly…at least until he knelt on the floor next to her, putting him at below eye level in relation to her. He cupped her face, gently, and made sure she met his eyes. “You’re amazing, Pidge, and when you crack this code, we’ll all sing your praises.”

Pidge rested her forehead against his, reaching behind him to bury her hands in his hair. “But especially you, right?”

He smirked. “I’ll be the loudest one.”

Lance then kissed her, so softly it wasn’t much more than a warm brush of lips, and he pulled back before her eyes even closed. “Also,” he added, with a slow, sly smile, “it wouldn’t hurt to take a break, right?”

Hardest story to write?

This borderline crack fic that had a shippy premise but the prompter challenged me to write gen for it. i succeeded (i think), but was it worth it?? probably

Easiest/most fun story to write?

They’re all fun to a certain degree, but this The Wizard of Oz AU was great fun once I hit my stride. also honorable mention to ‘Smuggle Your Heart’, of which i wrote about 17k words in one day in a hyperfocusing haze (i didn’t sleep till 3 AM that day and i would’ve skipped dinner if my parents hadn’t reminded me).

(i haven’t had a day so productive yet inefficient since)

Did any stories shift your perceptions of the characters?

I actually....disliked Lance until i started shipping plance, and then my love for him only grew the more i wrote him lol. even season 1 Lance can be fun to write now, if only because he’s so ridiculous

Most overdue story?

hmm, perhaps something like ‘Failure to Launch’ because there’s a lot to explore in the adultier adults important to Team Voltron, particularly what Sam - the dad - might feel about his pretty young children getting sucked into a fight like this. but *shrugs*

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?

not really?? i...kinda played it safe?? perhaps ‘Ink on a Page’ is my riskiest venture to date because it’s a long fic and i have a poor track record with long fic that i start posting before finishing. hopefully i’m learning discipline and like actually finishing things

also i think ‘Specter’ was pretty risky, as would be writing anything i really have very little experience in feeling, plus people tend to feel very strongly about major character deaths and i was unsure how people (particularly people i interact with) would receive it. and i guess i learned that it’s okay to take risks?? i was pleased with the way the fic turned out (even if it broke my heart to write it), and it was sorta begging me to be written (you know that itch you get when a story wants out??). and ultimately i’m writing for myself...but it’s still nice when other people like your writing too

What are your fic writing goals for next year?

Finish ‘Ink on a Page’

Finish and post my definitely unconventional The Holiday AU that’s currently languishing as a Word doc of about 20k words

Write something amazing for the plance zine

Expand/write my sailor AU (of which ‘Siren Song’ is the prelude)

Write a slow burn plance fic (to be fair, The Holiday AU and the sailor AU are looking to be slow burn, of sorts)

Maybe...not write so much by the seat of my pants, be less impulsive and more thoughtful, outline more but remain flexible, be more efficient so i don’t burnout, push myself to write even when i’m not feeling ‘inspired’

Not compare myself to other writers (sad but true)

write for a different fandom/pairing?? who even knows at this point
