I have never had many thoughts about this beyond the fact that I do think RoyJamie will get married. I usually get caught up thinking about their domestic life post marriage.
So many wonderful fics on Ao3 of RJ weddings and I love them all. Always did assume they will marry in London and maybe honeymoon in the Maldives or go to Amsterdam. But it just struck me: what if they get married in Amsterdam? They’re both fuck you rich and would have no qualms about dragging their friends and family to Amsterdam to get married. It’ll be in the off season anyways.
I don’t know Amsterdam enough to know where they’ll marry but I think they’ll make sure the venue is close enough that they can go visit “their” windmill. Staring up at their windmill in the dead of the night, wearing their wedding suit. The party is raging on elsewhere but they’re newlyweds and if they want to sneak out of their reception to go see a windmill—in the city where their relationship changed forever, even if they didn’t know it at the time—they absolutely fucking will.
“We went to see a windmill!”, Jamie will say the next day when Sam asks him where he and Roy went off to. All the boys assume he means they went to get laid just like they did when Jamie said it all those years ago in the bus.

Not to be weird but it's so funny and iconic to me how in that 2013 boot oliver!tod is actually quite gentle with lukas!rudolf during the schatten and mayerling manhandling parts. Like is this because Oliver knows personally that it hurts when Mark your coactor throws you facedown on the floor and didn't want to subject someone else to that ahshjfjgjh

Kaveh: complains about Cyno's jokes
Also Kaveh: makes a joke using the same pun as Cyno in the same breath right after the complaint
---
Fun facts from the Interdarshan Championship:
A bad joke is also referred to as a "cold joke" in Chinese and Cyno says [我可以説一個冷笑話幫你將溫] to Tighnari after returning to Aaru Village with the disruptor. This roughly translates to "I can help cool you down with a cold joke." (the loc. team did a great job in keeping the funnies by translating it to dry humor)
Kaveh, when talking about Cyno, complains about his "cold humor" and ends with the line [他約你一起去提納里家吃飯的話,你最好多穿件外套] which is, "If he invites you to Tighnari's for a meal, best to bring a jacket." (this was turned into the line about being sober)

okay so do you guys know that part in ck when ali and johnny see each other again and ali says something like:
"my daughter was on the path to becoming a ballerina and then she joined a punk band"
that led me to the head cannon that in college ali, susan and barbara created a band and were semi-popular in the late 80s-90s.
like imagine jessica somehow becomes friends with one of them and invites daniel to one of their shows. she's all like "Daniel you HAVE to come to my friends show sometime you'll love it". and so they go and daniel is just bugging out trying to figure out if that's ali or not because she dyed her hair and she looks completely different from when he last saw her.
but then. imagine this okay. hear me out on this.
so we know johnny 'partied through all of his 20s' and also loves music (specifically rock) so just imagine him and the cobras ALSO going to the same concert as jessica and daniel. IT HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL. LIKE HOW WOULD THEY REACT??? AHHHH.
anyway this was just a really long post about how I think her daughter saw old pictures of her back when she was in the band and thought 'holy FUCK thats so cool'
and so she asked ali about it and ali brought up a huge bin from her basement with all her old clothes and stuff from then and so now that's all her daughter wears.

if i thought the witcher was painfully realistic. i was wrong. it is a very clear fairytale that comforts and soothes. even in its realistic take on the genre, it inspires, even in its tragedy, it comforts.
evil is defeated epically in a final battle in the darkness, the valiant heroes fall together, the lovers die united, and all pass into legend and are remembered for ever and ever. and the spirit of our hero returns now and again to save and deliver us from evil… they become legend and in that legend they are immortal…
#txt#the witcher books#OK HUSSITE TRILOGY SPOILERS IN TAGS:#like i cant say that evil WASNT defeated in the hussite trilogy because he definitely was but not in an epic final battle but#the fact that its like in the very penultimate bit and its not reynevan who does it but his NIECE it is just so…#we came all this way and there was no ultimate showdown#i mean there kind of was but not in a big castle but in some plains with a windmill and#it wasnt really a final battle but a kill-eachothers-girlfriends bit#birkart didnt even get his hands NEAR samson before he died#scharley and reynevan just left… at the end… just like in the beginning of the first book EXCEPT NOT because everything has changed them#well has changed reynevan. kind of dandelion and geralt in that way as the second man remains a constant#reynevan no longer being like a young man but a. man. but this didnt come with grand heroism and valour. it just came with. pain and#the eventual wearing down and tarnishing of his zeal and belief and love#thats … literally so fucking dark but also so realistic and it scares me lmaooooo#and people say the witcher was anticlimatic and sad at the end LMAOOOO OHHHH NOOOOO#lux perpetua like damn that dude really was walking in darkness groping along like a blind man after losing his eternal light#ohhhhh i get it now so god has abandoned us and he also never really existed ohhh okay#his love died as he was helpless to save her and he didnt even avenge his brother and his friend trio crumpled#like like. just trying to put this all into perspective

i have an extremely fraught relationship to the phrase “water is wet” in the context of people on here responding to studies about social issues that have “obvious” or otherwise seemingly basic conclusions. because like a lot of people just use it to be anti intellectual (“why are you studying this when the public already ‘knows’ the answer to this question”) and don’t realise (or refuse to learn) that a lot of social science research is done with the goal of producing policy recommendations and professional summaries of topics that are then presented to governmental bodies for review. like yeah no shit if an author is studying, like, bigotry against trans people then they know bigotry against trans people exists already. They didn’t start their research under the assumption that they might discover that the oppression of trans people doesn’t actually exist. They’re doing it because you need statistical proof and evidence to inform your recommendations to solve the issue. If you get mad about those types of studies you’re tilting at windmills.
But on the other hand I also recognise that like, yeah it is frustrating that people only pay attention to social problems when an official report is released about it. Like you won’t believe vulnerable groups who talk about their experience with oppression but a journal article about the exact same topic is suddenly worth your time and effort. I get how that is frustrating and infuriating. And like obviously there are a lot of problems with academia, especially its long and bloody history of scientific bigotry, and pointing those issues out isn’t anti-intellectualism. But then on the other other hand I don’t think the general user base of this website is literate enough to have a measured conversation about that topic, so this leaves me with the conclusion that, like, if you respond to posts reporting information you think is obvious with “water is wet” I’m going to smack you upside the head

Luffy has a higher bounty in the wing AU than in cannon mostly due to the bat wings.
Yup! Instead of 100 million post-Alabasta he gets around 120 because a bat-winged demon child defeating a warlord scared the right people.
Smoker is a little annoyed but he can't really do anything

Zag’s first time feeling poison must have sucked.
Think about it.
Zag would almost certainly never have experienced anything like sickness before: firstly because he probably runs really hot because, y’know, fire feet, but also because he’s a god and I just don’t think they’d get sick in the same way humans would without the interference of another.
Then, all the damage he takes to everything else around is superficial. It’s all bashes or slices or,, whips I guess. Nothing lingers — sure, maybe it’ll sting or throb, but it’s all on the outside of his body and the cause is obvious, so it’s not going to be particularly scary. He knows what to expect: Achilles trained him in combat.
Then we come to poison.
Imagine being Zagreus and stepping in a puddle of green stuff by accident. You start feeling a stinging in your foot. Okay, nothing unusual, probably something similar to lava. You step off it, but the problem doesn’t leave. Then this pain spreads up into the rest of your body — inside you — and doesn’t stop. Your health just keeps on depleting and you’re continuously weakened from the inside.
I don’t know about you, but I’d certainly freak out at that.
