didnt watch wednesday when it was the thing on here, but i did watch it today because i had some suspicions about a video that came up and yeah. people dont have any media literacy </3

"oh no they brought up social media" yeah, and? compared to other shows wednesday actually does a really good job with it. it doesnt feel dated nor does it feel in your face, its well balanced.

"why is the school of outcasts not nicer to each other?" were you not paying attention. yes the point is that they SHOULD be nice to each other. this isnt an error it was a choice of writing.

"why are they giving the child and parent conflict. i understand why for narrative reasons but theyre meant to be a good family" did u miss the part where they ARE a good family. wednesday was just being a teenager the family clearly loves each other very much.

"omg wednesday brought up the patriarchy ermm doesnt she know people can just choose to be nice?" yes, the point is that she made a comment widely detached from the reality of the situation because she is bad at understanding others.

listen i dont know anything about the addams family, so i cant give commentary on that. but damn people will really be out here picking apart shows for things they completely misinterpreted. anyways things i have been liking about it so far

i am very not intelligent so perhaps this isnt my place to comment but i really like the mystery so far. i like how everything has been flowing into each other, nothing feels too sudden and is progressing at a steady rate. very cool.

although this is a show set in highschool, the way characters interact with each other feels very refreshing. its probably less realistic than real life actually, because characters open up with one another and communicate clearly, so you cant even be like "ermm why dont they talk to each other??" its subtle but i think its really subversive in its own way

tying into the previous point, all the characters have felt well rounded. each of them have some level of intruige around them and there's never any person where i roll my eyes like "oh no its THEM" i really like the cast all around.

wednesday is a great character. i mean. some people will find her annoying. but she is very intruiging to me. if i met her in real life i would wanna be friends with her. i like every time she starts talking about any of her interests im like girlll i soooo get u yess its time to disect animals

the character conflict that i find most annoying is that the other characters dont rlly understand wednesday, but thats probably the point. i am just neurodivergent so when i see her i go ooohhh yeah absolutely. why dont these other guys get this get her a guillotine she is soo bored

the set design is SO hdjsbdjsjsisns its so much its too nuch i love it. wednesday and enid's room fills me with delight every time i lay eyes on it. sooo good.

a story - OKAY SO. when i was in middle school i had a sleeping problem. my mom got me some of those melatonin gummies & she just gave ne the whole bottle and cery nuch did not tell me how many to take. i only planned on taking 1 or 2, BUT THEY TASTED SOOOO GOOD.   so little middle school zane had like half the bottle. i was calling my girlfriend (at the time) and i was fighting off sleep as i took more. SOO I GO TO SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY ABSOLUTELY WIRED. i mention to my friend what happened the previous night and my teacher overhears and shes like: hey what the fuck! so i go about my day and things go Wrong when i go home. the school had told her What Happened and she wS like. huh.

if there are so many differences between the novel and the show, then why are you so sure that gram is in love with black and not eugene? it could be one of the many changes/differences. (btw i swear i'm not trying to be confrontational in this ask. i hope it doesn't come off that way!! just genuinely curious haha)

Because they wouldn't erase a canonical queer character's queerness like that, for one.

For another, there's soooo many signs that make it obvious it's Black. Most people are wary of Black, often confrontational, but Gram is always smiling around him and hanging off his shoulder. He looks panicked towards Gram when Nuch implies he's dating someone else and quickly denies it saying he's always with Black, almost like a reassurance. Like he doesn't want Black to think he's with someone else. He is always looking at Black even when nothing is happening, stealing admiring glances and hiding fond smiles. Let's not forget the literal love note White found and the matching set of dolls that go with it. Dolls Black keeps close to him on his nightstand so they clearly Mean Something to him.

The most clear evidence that it's not Eugene, though, is the conversation he has with Yok in ep6-

Gram has kept his crush secret for as long as he's had it. Never told anyone about it and never once made a move. Since he kissed Eugene weeks before this conversation, it means he cannot be talking about her. He already (accidentally) made a move with her and was rejected. The person he is in love with has no idea that he has any feelings for them outside of the realm of friendship. It cannot be Eugene. And Yok already said it-

Gram doesn't have time for anyone else. I know people think the whole "you're always with Black" thing is just exaggeration because White is always with Sean but y'all are forgetting that that's White's choice. Not Gram's. White has unknowingly been shutting Gram out in a way Black wouldn't do. When Black was around they likely were stuck to each other all the time. When people make that comment they're speaking from years of the two spending all their free time together.

It's simple. There just isn't any other reasonable answer to the question of who he loves. He doesn't make time for anyone else like he always did for Black.

But I will say the possibility of an ot3 ending seems to be growing so there could be a lot more to these three and their story than what we expect.
