LADY GAGA TAKES THE STAGE AT U2 CONCERT IN ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
In a jaw-dropping surprise performance at The Sphere in Vegas last night, Lady Gaga left the audience in awe as she joined U2 on stage, delivering an unforgettable rendition of some of the iconic U2 hits. To top off the night, Gaga wowed the crowd with her chart-topping sensation, "Shallow." But it wasn't just her vocal prowess that had everyone talking; it was her fashion statement that stole the show.
Tumblr media
Known for pushing boundaries and setting trends in the fashion world, Gaga chose a distinctive look for the memorable night. For the occasion, she veered away from Celine, opting instead for a piece from Alexander McQueen's menswear collection.
Gaga donned the Spring/Summer 2021 classic black grain leather biker jacket, a statement piece with a price tag of $4,250. The jacket featured signature snap buttons, hammered stud zipper detailing, and a luxurious quilted red silk lining.
Shop:
Alexander McQueen Classic Biker Jacket ($4,250.00)

Her slim cat-eye black acetate sunglasses are the brand new Terra Cotta by Korean eyewear label Gentle Monster ($320).

Top 5 historic clothing items we should bring back into style (stockings on men, big cuffs on coats etc.)
Well I am very biased, because my everyday clothes are mostly 18th century menswear inspired, but for a list as short as 5 it's good to narrow it down!

Anonymous asked: but what is the sewing bird for?
For holding the fabric, it's like a third hand to help you while you hand sew. It clamps to the table and the bird's body and head are a big spring loaded clip that holds things. I've never used one, but it would be neat to try.

FootJoy x Todd Snyder "The Back Tees Collection"
Tumblr media
How would the most iconic players in golf history dress if they stepped onto the links today? The answer is the Todd Snyder x FootJoy Collection.
Titled “The Back Tees”, the collection was inspired by the golf fashion of old-school greats on and off the course. The styles borrow from the traditional codes of American menswear and place them in performance technical fabrics.
For this collaboration, Todd and the FootJoy team set out to create contemporary interpretations of 60s and 70s golf style. The team emphasized refined fabrics--including pique polos, mercerized sweaters and cotton/cashmere sweatshirts--then reinterpreted these iconic athletic styles in a thoroughly modern way. The collection features apparel in blacks, blues, olives and as well as geometric and jacquard prints, and two new premium pebble-grain leather golf shoes based on FootJoy’s Wilcox and Field Premiere Series models.
“I am so excited to be working with FootJoy again to create a collection worthy of the pro tees, we’ve taken some of our favorite design details from the golden age of golf–including the luster of mercerised cotton sweater polos and the brogueing on a bespoke golf shoe–and combined them with state-of-the-art technology and modern style.” says Snyder. “Because one thing that I’ve learned in my years on the links is that you can’t always be the best player in your foursome, but if you’re wearingnour collection you can certainly be the most stylish.”
Since their debut collection in spring 2021, the duo’s partnership has filled a gap in the marketplace and has proven itself to be a strong customer acquisition and retention strategy.
“We have seen consistent 50% year- over-year sales growth since our first launch in 2021, demonstrating the strength of our partnership with FootJoy. Our elevated menswear-inspired take on the sport continues to resonate with our existing customers and especially new customers.” says Alejandro Rhett, Chief Product Officer of Todd Snyder. “People discovering Todd Snyder for the first time through golf have proven to be a valuable long-term customer, returning back to convert through our mainline collections again.”
The FootJoy and Todd Snyder Collection drops May 18th, 2023 @ 10AM ET. The collection will be available at ToddSnyder.com, FootJoy.com and select Todd Snyder retail locations.

Bethany Williams
Bethany Williams is the namesake brand of London based designer Bethany Williams. Bethany studied BA Critical Fine Art practice at the University of Brighton and then went on to study MA Menswear at London College of Fashion. Alongside her studies, the young designer volunteered at homeless shelters and food kitchens in Brighton, a move that ignited the spark to effect social change with her work. Williams launched the label in 2017 with a mission to create positive social and environmental change in the world. Since its inception, the label has grown astronomically, establishing itself as a leading figure in the fashion industry when it comes to setting sustainability standards.
Bethany has developed an innovative business structure which strives to prove a socially engaged and thoughtful fashion system can exist, within the design and manufacturing of garments. Each item produced by Bethany Williams is made from recycled, deadstock, or organic materials, made in the UK and Italy. They work with social projects and local manufacturers to produce their collections. From book waste to reclaimed fabrics and hand-carved wooden buttons made from birch – the idea of transforming waste into treasure continues to be explored beautifully throughout their collections . They believe that fashion has the power to be utilized to create positive change and as a result of this they are providing an alternative system for fashion production. Bethany works to implement positive change within fashion, both through her own brand, and through working as a consultant with businesses across the world. Bethany hopes to shape the fashion industry toward businesses working with ethical practices, both socially and environmentally as a standard.
Awarded for her efforts, Bethany won the Queen Elizabeth II Award in 2019, has been supported by the British Fashion Council NewGen programme and was a LVMH Prize finalist in 2019. She won Emerging Menswear Designer of the year at The Fashion Awards in 2019, and was included in the Business of Fashion 500 in 2020, noted as one of the people shaping the Global Fashion Industry. Williams was also a finalist for the International Woolmark Prize and announced as the recipient of the BFC Vogue Fashion Fund 2021.

I think Bethany's work is so special. It can be quite difficult to create pieces that are unusual and weird yet so wearable, but I think Bethany Williams has most definitely found the perfect medium. I particularly like Williams not just because of her work but because of the ethics behind it. Before researching designers I was just looking to find someone who creates beautiful pieces in a more sustainable way but Bethany does that and so so much more. Her commitment to social change by collaborating with a new charity with each collection particularly her work with homelessness charities and supporting women leaving prison, on building support networks that help reintroduction to life outside the system, and to reduce reoffending rates is really admirable.
In my opinion, Bethany Williams is so much more than a fashion designer and her motivation to create change and the manner in which she goes about it, is really inspiring.
