Rereading Leafpool’s Wish and Leafpool never once asks Squirrelflight to take her kits, she asks Squirrelflight for help initially, and Squirrelflight promises to do all she can to help but that is it. Yellowfang is the one who lies to her about not being able to have kits and tells her to take the kits, to which Squirrelflight says no, she won’t lie to those she loves forever. The chapter ends before Leafpool can reply.

Leafpool doesn’t even ask Squirrelflight to come with her to go give birth, Squirrelflight chooses on her own to lie about Leafpool requesting she come too. It is Feathertail who manifests and tells Squirrelflight again that she has to take the kits, squirrelflight says again that she will not lie to for the rest of her life. Feathertail keeps pushing and Leafpool says nothing, and this time Squirrelflight relents and agrees to take the kits.

Ya'll put me back on my bullshit on the day I'm supposed to be studying. So things I've changed in Dark Mirror Au:

Focuses mostly on the dark mirror universe itself, instead of them interacting with their canon selves.

Fire's sibs are being split up, the ones formerly known as Eaglekit and Wildkit stay with mama Nutmeg (Hope). Firekit is taken along with his near twin Flamekit and his sister Fawnkit (Princess). They don't have an official mom bc I couldn't find one that wouldn't bring up future problems.

Fire & Flame get a much closer relationship. Fawn eventually leaves

Fire does not get his villain arc (honestly it's more of a vengeance arc) until after the dog pack fiasco. As such, Bluestar does not die until after that..

Ya'll thought Starclan was involved in these cats' lives before? Let's turn that up by 200

Fire might not be Squilf n Leaf's bio dad, still iffy there

Fire works with instead of against the Hope Colony...at first.

Fire & Bramble's relationship is a lot more complicated

Might have Leafpaw rebuild Skyclan while she's gone bc why not. Also she can meet Sol there.

Some form of an alliance with Riverclan, either between Fire & Misty themselves or an arranged union with Hawk & Squilf, likely the latter because the drama is spicy there.

Squilf is a lot more respected in TC (not that she wasn't before, but she's less likely to have her decisions questioned by anyone who is not her parents). Leaf is still the golden child though.

Lionblaze leaves the clans and joins Leaf

Tawnypelt stays in Shadowclan and might end up becoming leader.

The Dark Forest battle might end up being replaced with kind of a Civil War, though the Dark Forest has its part to play.

Given that there is no birth control in warriors and that some she-cats sometimes find themselves expecting but don’t know how it happened (or are expecting without having planned to or being official with their mate, etc) I find very weird the whole Finleap/Twigbranch, or Squilf/Bramble debates over whether or not they want kits. I mean unless they practice abstinence at the right time, there’s no way to prevent themselves from having kits and thus, them having human-like conversations about planning their offspring and all seems odd.

Finally a new post !! I have been sick for a while now but I am slowly getting better ! Have a drawing of Squirrelflight and Shrewpaw/tail in my au where he lives :)

I heard that we might get Squirrelstar in the next book ! I really hope she actually gets to be leader !

I am kind of... Sick of Bramblestar ? Don't get me wrong, he was nice in the first arc as Bramblekit / Bramblepaw, in the second arc he was alright for the first three or four books (to his defense, Squirrelpaw was a handful !), but he just really became... a bit of a jerk afterward in my opinion ? I don't enjoy his relationship with Squirrelflight and I really think they should have broken up for good after the revelation of the Three's parents, because Bramblestar keeps having some... "red flaggy" behaviors :( Like the red flags had already started at the beginning of the relationship when Squirrelflight told Brambleclaw that Hawkfrost could not be trusted, and Brambleclaw ignored her, for her to be right all along ? Or later, Brambleclaw being incredibly mad at Squirreflight for saying the Three were her's because she was literally told to by Starclan to do so, when Brambleclaw did way worst by plotting with Hawkfrost to become the leader of Thunderclan in very sus ways ? And he never, ever told her that Firestar lost a life because of him and his brother ? It's very unfair to me... Idk man, Brambleclaw kind of turned out to not be a good partner :( (I hope everything was understandable there in this part, my english is really rusty when writing !)

I know that the Erins intended to make Bramblestar "the better Tigerstar", him having to show his whole clan that he would never turn out like his father and that he would be the best leader possible but... but it really turned sour to me ? He was meant to be at least a nice, well-meaning character, but somehow in the way he turned out to be a bit of a jerk.

I personally don't really like Bramblestar, but I kind of understand why people like him, he has a cool character arc in the second arc with Hawkfrost, having to fight to show that he is a loyal, kind warrior, and in the end, making the choice to kill his power-hungry brother instead of his leader.

Anyway back to the drawing, I have this au where Shrewpaw doesn't get hit by a car and becomes Squirrelflight's mate. Maybe, just maybe, Shrewpaw was killed off because he was too much of a rival to Brambleclaw ? Seeing from the few interactions between Squirrelpaw and Shrewpaw, they were good friends and Shrewpaw was a gentle, nice boi. I really do think that if Shrewpaw had lived, he would have ended up being Squirrelflight's mate !

I might be a bit rusty on the lore, it's been a long while since I read the books, so if you have any corrections or inputs, don't hesitate to tell me ! :)

How does Jessy feel about Alderheart leaving for the Clans? I can't imagine she was gung ho given how her relationship with Bramblestar soured, even if she did enjoy clan life before Bramble started becoming controlling and petty with her. In fact, what did Squirreflight think about her leaving, considering she briefly considers getting back with Bramblestar in Squirrelflight's Horror if memory serves?

6 months is a time of great tumult for housecats. Jessy's human is a pretty chillax kind of dude, probably a musician type, but there's always a chance that a kitten gets rehomed... or neutered.

And usually that's fine! That's part of the deal. Usually the human is good, and you get free food, healthcare, and affection. But Louie/Alder has been having weird dreams. He's wondering how his sister is holding up.

So he has a choice. Just trust the human, or go get to the bottom of his feelings.

He can always come back, but if he waits, it might be too late. Jessy left the Clans for a reason and she warns Louie of exactly why, but it is his descision to make. He isn't a kitten anymore.

She can walk him there, and remind him he will always have a home to return to.

And as for Squilf, she knows exactly why she left. She understands it, even, maybe saw it coming. Admires Jessy for her strength, and at the same time feels bad for Bramblestar.

That sympathy is part of what lapses her judgement in Squirrelflight’s Horror. But anyway if I get into talking about Squilf I'll write a novel lmao

Moonkitti's Squirrelflight design is an extension of herself and projecting as a state of her past abuse. She's stated this multiple times *and* she is someone who is small/has big eyes/ a high-pitched voice/etc. Implying that any of these traits makes someone "child-like" sends the very "adults can not be abused" message you are so keen on being against.

Please, I am trying to be as kind as I can here as a past abuse victim in relationships as well, think before you post that kind of stuff. It is absolutely unkind and invalidating of not just mine or Moonkitti's experience, but many other adults who will not be taken seriously just because of genetic traits we can't help. We are real people. We were adults when we were abused. And these traits don't make us any less valid...

Completely unkind and insensitive comments from both mods, please rethink your idea around what's "child-like" and why you think that.

There seems to have been some confusion. At no point did I intend to appear like I was targeting Moonkitti personally for her design or her reasons for making it so. I didn't have her in mind when replying to that anon.

Perhaps I could have worded it better but my point was supposed to be that if you take an adult character and infantilise them to show "better" how they're being abused then that's incredibly questionable. Like making Squirreflight look like a child just to try and persuade people she is in fact being abused. I wasn't intending to hurt anyone's feelings or claim that if you have those traits you aren't valid and I'm sorry that people saw this and thought I was.

Yes I've seen the thread posted by Moonkitti on twitter and am going to consider finding some way to reach out to clear up confusion and apologise as it was not my intention to cause harm.

So would DM!Squirrelflight kick cannon!Bramblestar's ass? Or would she like him? Like if she knew everything he'd done, from training in hell with his dad and then debating and watching her dad suffer and die to denouncing the 3 as their kits (when it was thought Cannon Squirrelflight was infertile.) To him forcing Alder to become a medicine cat, what would she do? Especially how he got Leafpool killed? I know DM!Leaf and Squirrel don't have a relationship at all, but cannon Leaf and Squirrel do, so DM!Squirrel might see it as a what if.

Well dm! Leaf and Squirrel have always had a relationship, it was just always negative until I changed it recently to make more character and narrative sense. Dm! Leaf and Squirrel were as close as they were in canon until Leaf is captured by twolegs, sees the world, questions the clan's practices, and rejoins the clans. When she can't stand it anymore, she turns to her sister, tells her what she's seen, tries to make her understand.

To put it simply, hearing and experiencing are two different things and Squilf is not swayed. Their relationship only gets tenser from there. When Leaf eventually leaves, something snaps and Squilf is just so betrayed, so hurt, so angry. Her theft of Leaf's kits does several things. For one thing it disowns Leaf as her family and as a clan cat. Another thing is it's punushment, and also it's a way to take a piece of her sister through her kits. Last and least it's for the proposal.

Anyway dm!Squilf doesn't like dm!Brambleclaw, but she doesn't dislike him. She likes to mess with him like in canon, only it's a lot more mean spirited, and only gets worse the older she gets. Bramble is sort of part of the fire fam. Like in the way a bastard orphaned son is, but still.

Firstly she'd be disgusted that canon Bramble would be mates with her as he's the equivalent of her brother in DM. Secondly, I think she'd be shocked that he managed such a high position at all. Thirdly, she would hate him with her whole heart. The meeting Tigerstar, the fox trap, the abuse, the disownment. That's familial betrayal x4. Bramble causing Leaf's death...oooof. Squilf would actually kill him. She may be furious with Leaf but she'll be damned if she lets Bramble hurt her
