As someone who considers themself as a transfem this websites moderation team doesnt look safe for me to rely on. If faced with any hate speech right now I wouldnt report it to tumblr staff because of how they deal with this type of reports. I do hope they change for the better, but I wont trust them to solve my problems even if thats their job.

had a fucking hilarious dream that tumblr replaced the "block" function with the far funnier "glock" function, which did the exact same thing except whenever anyone blocked you a random bullet hole, like a png of a bullet hole, would appear on your blog. discourse blogs were unreadable bc you'd go to the page and the sheer amount of bullet hole pngs stacked over the blogs obscured everything. every time i say tumblr staff (and tumblr itself let's be real) made social media worse by never punishing harassment, allowing people to get comfortable pushing cancel and callout culture so they could harass and dehumanize anyone (especially minorities) they want without ever having to worry about consequences, an attitude they brought with them to other websites like tiktok and twitter after the 2018 porn ban....

This is what I'm talking about. tumblr staff doesn't give a shit if you're stalked and harassed, but if you're a trans woman posting selfies? instant ban.

How to get rid of the creepy pirate clown-instructions without the image of said clown

So because I'm not the only one with a clown phobia, I figured it might be helpful for one of the tutorials on how to get rid of Tumblr's forced advertising elements like the very creepy pirate clown dude from One Piece without using an image of said obnoxious thing.

First step: If you do not already have uBlock Origin, click the link above and download the version of the extension for the browser you are using.

Second step: right click on the clown (or any pop-up element that you want to make go away)

Third step: Click "block element" in the drop-down menu. A new window will pop up with a bit of script and some buttons you can click.

Fourth step: Select the "create" button.

This should make the clown/pop-up element go away.
