Toxic yuri
[Image ID: A digital drawing of The Star (aka Marceline the Vampire Queen) and Bonnibel Bubblegum from Fiona and Cake. The Star differs from her original design in that she has pale brown skin and afro hair. She wears her red outfit from the episode The Star. Bubblegum has her appearance from The Star as well. The Star floats horizontally over Bubblegum’s shoulders as she smirks at her and places her hand around her neck. Bubblegum glares back at her and holds a stake in her hands. End ID.]

thinking more about vamp-world marceline. various thoughts as they come to me:
it seems like hunson doesn't have any sort of relationship with marceline. i guess without simon calling him up when he decided the crown had made him too unstable to care for her he just... never checked on her or thought of her at all
(unless i missed something big) marcy doesn't have her axe-bass (related to last point) or do/say anything related to music. in stakes the vamps do have their own instruments so it's not like it would be forbidden her or anything; i imagine therefore that music being such a big part of regular marcy's life is tied up in memories of her mother and of growing up/making up songs with simon/her place among two bread tom's group and her overall connection to human-ness. all of which she either didn't have in this universe or would be actively trying to forget
i'm not sure how to feel about the vampire king having a father-daughter relationship with her. like what's the implication from the intro showing that they met about the same time simon would've met her but she's locked as a vampire at the same very-young-adult age we're familiar with? did he choose to wait to turn her out of a sense of responsibility? out of knowing she'd be a better combatant if he waited? either way especially contrasted with the framing of her turning in stakes it's a disturbing situation, regardless of any sweet casual terms of endearment
