Fun fact: if you say something which has antisemitic implications and someone calls you out on it, you can just say "shit, I didn't intend that, I'm sorry," and shut the fuck up instead of trying to excuse or dismiss what you said.
Yes, asking if there are Jews in Star Trek is antisemitic, because Star Trek is set in a timeline in which modern Earth existed, and therefore, asking that question means that you think that Jews will just stop existing in the next few centuries, or that the "Jewish religion" is somehow separate from the "Jewish people." It is not, and in fact the extermination of Judaism as a religion and making Jewish people "French first" was Napoleon's entire plan for genociding us. :) Destroying a culture is genocide. That's not my thought, that's a fucking basic definition.
Roddenberry was fervently anti-religion and rather antisemitic. You don't need to follow in his antisemitic footsteps.

Hello! Welcome to my Ted Talk: Narrative and Story are not the Same Thing.
Story is the things that happened.
Narrative is the order and the way in which those things that happened are conveyed.
Fairytale retellings generally keep the same plot, but they’re told in different ways. The story is the same but the narrative is unique.
You ever see a movie or read a book and think that there are some really compelling points hidden in there, but the narrative isn’t doing them justice?
You ever have someone tell a story you love and they just do a terrible job explaining? That is the narrative’s fault, not the story’s. You could say that the person did a bad job telling it.
You ever play a video game where the story was compelling and you’re very interested, but the order in which the events are presented robs it of all suspense? It’s not that the story isn’t interesting. The story has a lot to offer. It’s that there was (drum roll) bad writing.

I feel like "kill your darlings" has gone through a semantic change in a similar way "death of the author" has but no one talks about it. It has come to mean inflicting emotion and physical pain on fictional characters for depth rather than the act of editing your work-- even and sometimes especially-- things you become attached to that are not serving the story. And it's driving me insane

I know Lizzo isn't subtweeting Topher here, but this very much applies to him as well. He is such a disappointment. The whole thread is quite excellent.

Tbh I find it interesting she's choosing those matters specifically, mayhaps a small part of her is in fact subtweeting while also just tweeting in generel

People follow me but theyre scared to reblog me because im the edgy insane dirtbag unfettered by social acquisition i could stand to lose. I have nothing to lose socially and am determined to maintain this M.O. even when i do have more to lose. They, by contrast, have clawed their way up the ranks and are surrounded by squishy Vindictive blorbos with no critical thinking nor true compassion, and they know if they dont carefully measure what they cosign, all the clout they have painstakingly accumulated will be stripped from them, and all the doors will close. Just one wrong move can ultimately tank a campaign for clout in 2020s anglo internet. I get it.
Moral of the story? Whatever behavior you build your egregore on, it will compound upon itself...if you are not careful, bit by bit, you will find it is not in your hands but has a life of its own...this is how all great things come to be, it is natural and dare i say desirable, but not if the community surrounding and thus ending up with equal share in your company are all greywash whiny hipsters 😋 and, if i may add, fortune favors the brave! 💜

"it's not queer fiction unless the queerness is explicitly declared in the text according to currently accepted terminology and in a way that meets the approval of the entire audience" I mean follow your heart I guess but I trust myself as a queer person to recognise queer themes
