Character analysis part one (Omnipotent sans/Ares):

Omnipotent Sans/Ares is a fictional character made by team Lavender, (to clarify I will be talking about Shad's version and not Nyte's version for the sole reason of me not having the information on NAlphatale's Omni in order to do a proper in depth character analysis on him and as always this is not made to hate the character, Au or creators) and is a very interesting as well as complex character when you look at him. First off he fits in to two different tropes, the stoic loner type and the powerhouse not only due to the fact that he is the strongest of the four but also because he is the most well equipped to deal with said strength and powers and can keep calm more easily than say Error 404. However while these are interesting things to write and read about they are also a double edged sword in the terms that they can either be an outstanding success or if done badly they can also be absolute failures. Another thing is if a character like the powerhouse is too op the writer may have issues trying to write the character (however Shad seems to be doing just fine props to them good job). It is also important to give the character a personality other than being super strong or else people will grow bored quickly. Speaking of personality he is kind of a spoiled brat in the story of Alphatale with him pulling the shit he pulled however in the chapters and Wattpad stories we can see him act more like a mysterious person of no nonsense with the attitude and witty remarks poking in here and there however the witty remarks are less annoying and more funny which I personally think of as a good thing as it shows him growing and maturing from an asshole of a teen/young adult to a adult who is far less of an asshole and a interesting and mysterious guy that nobody really knows that well. I'd also like to mention that for going through what he's gone through with the whole him being kidnapped by The Astral Mother, him having to be anywhere near the Astral Mother, The Astral Mother flirting with him and him living in the Au known as Alphatale he is a good skeleton. Now I'm not condoning him for all the terrible shit he's done nor do I think it is acceptable however he could have turned out way worse. The last thing I want to say about Omni is that even though he can piss me off sometimes or annoy me I truly like his character and I personally think that if an author can elicit such a rollercoaster of emotions from a reader from liking a character(s) to being pissed off at something they did or how they acted to begrudgingly liking them again then the author is an amazing author and if they don't shy away from showing that there characters do have flaws they truly have talent and from one writer to another I personally tip my hat to you Shad.

VIII.

As was their custom, Dr. Chevalier and Dr. Nyte had called a halt early on the last Friday of the dig, this time using the ever-present potential for rain as an excuse. The team had thankfully downed tools and headed back to the inn.

Inside it was lively and warm, the whole team was jubilant over the amazing archaeology. The grad students were particularly exuberant, dreaming about the dissertations they’d be able to write and the grants they’d be able to get because of their amazing luck.

There was only one person missing, but he’d been at the site so rarely in the last few weeks it was hardly noticed. The man responsible for their unbelievable luck had made himself exceedingly scarce since the confirmation of his island theory, preferring to spend his time surveying the surrounding area and pouring over maps, apparently looking for some mysterious missing burial.

“Do you think Arthur was real?” In the jubilant, end-of-season atmosphere, the small, round table in the corner where the team leads sat was an island of quiet. Lizzie frowned down at her cheese and ale pie– a specialty of the inn. “I mean, not the magic sword and all that stuff, but the person… do you think he’s based on a king or a soldier who actually lived?”

Lee shrugged. “Percy does, at least he thinks the stories are based on something. I don’t think we’ll ever really know, though, not for sure.”

“It’s fun to look for the pieces, though.” Gwaine piped up from his position on the other side of the table where was shoveling his pie down with gusto. “That’s the point or archaeology, isn’t it? You can never know everything, but you find as many pieces as you can, you push the story as far back as you can.”

“And technology fills in the details, more and more.” Eli added, grinning at his sister. “As we know well.”

Lizzie smiled. “It’s amazing what good technology can do. Sometimes I wished I lived back then, just to see how it really was… but then I think about all these amazing things I’d have to give up and I think… maybe not.”

Lance, tanned from the long summer overseeing grad students and running a field school, smiled brightly at her, “I think that too. It would be so interesting to really know how they lived in the past.” Lizzie blushed, nodding.

“Ah, the unending curiosity of the archaeologist.” Dr. Guy Asclepius sighed, settling down beside the others with his fresh pie in his hands. “I can assure you, from long experience, it is never really satiated.” He spooned up a bit a the pie and grinned. “It’s not so bad, being out of the lab. There’s no pie in the lab.”

“I don’t know if looking at skulls in a nice warm room at an inn counts as being out of the lab,” Gwaine sulked.

“My boy, are you not thankful for the opportunity to gain field experience?”

Gwaine took a very deliberate bite of pie, “Considering the importance of the site, I’d have thought that youth would be expected to take a back seat to— ah— established experience.”

“Cheek,” The elder bioarchaeologist said, primly, “is a poor substitute for wit, Professor Sur.”

There were chuckles around the table, then Eli said, mildly, “You know, Dr. Ambrose reminds me of my mum.”

Lizzie laughed. “Yeah, I was thinking that earlier.”

“Your mum is a skinny, mad Welshman?” Gwaine asked, skeptically. Lizzie laughed again, “no, but she is obsessed with British royalty.”

“She’s from Guyana, she picked up and moved here after her country joined the Commonwealth.” Eli explained, shaking his head. “Absolutely mad about the monarchy, past present and future. She camps out for all the weddings and all that. Poor Lizzie was born just a few years after the family moved over here, she got the brunt of the royalty-mania, I’m afraid.”

“Lizzie, a nickname for Elizabeth, I assume.” Guy asked. Lizzie nodded, blushing, and he beamed at her “A name fit for a Queen, of course. You wear it well, my dear.”

The lead geophysicists waved her hands like she could erase the compliment, the blush spreading down her neck, “oh, well that’s very kind– I mean, it’s not really my name. I mean, it is, but it’s actually my middle name. Well, one of them. Sort of.”

Eli laughed with the wicked delight of a little brother. “Yeah, Guinevere Elizabeth Mary, it’s a right wedding cake of a name isn’t it?”

“It’s beautiful.” The voice was soft, but everyone at the table jumped like they’d seen a ghost. Dr. Ambrose smiled sadly. “Sorry, we didn’t mean to sneak up on you.” Percy hovered at his shoulder, shifting his weight from foot to foot. “I’ve asked Dr. Ambrose to join us,” the massive site director said, looking pointedly at Lee. “I thought it would be good to catch up a bit. No work talk, just get to know each other a bit.” Heads bobbed around the table, expression varied from surprised caution to friendly smiles to anticipatory grins.

“Welcome, young man.” Guy said, standing and extending a hand towards Ambrose. “I don’t believe we’ve met.”

The landscape archaeologist shook the proffered hand, but his response was barely a whisper above the noise of the crowded dining room. “No, I don’t suppose we have.”

Who owns Alphatale?

Hey everybody. If you remember from the last post that tackled this, I (Alphasaith) made a serious mistake. After talking about it with SHADIKAL15 and Nytethelad, we have decided that it would be best to perform a follow-up post to it. This post was made in full collaboration between SHADIKAL15, Nytethelad, and me (Alphasaith).

So for starters, the question posed in the title of this post: who owns Alphatale? The answer is Team Lavender. Team Lavender, since its formation in late-2018, has always owned Alphatale in its entirety. Each member of the Team owns a portion of Alphatale, and no member owns more than any other member. At present, there are five members of Team Lavender, these five you can see in the right bar if you are on Desktop view: SHADIKAL15 (the creator), Alphasaith (the editor, advisor, and continuity boi), Bladeinthelight (another/the original advisor), Kagami Shinami (original artist), and Nytethelad (the writer and current team leader).

In the previous post, it was stated that Nyte is the owner of Alphatale. This is true to a degree, though not the full truth. As stated in the previous paragraph, there are five owners to Alphatale. Nyte was generally called the owner in the past because he is the current leader of Team Lavender. We at Team Lavender hope to stop using this terminology, as it has done nothing but spread confusion. Instead of “Owner”, you will hear “Team Leader” for example.

You might now be wondering “if there are multiple owners, who should I credit when making art or other stuff related to Alphatale?” This is an excellent question. In the past, SHAD or Nyte have been individually credited, but going forward, try to instead credit the entire Team. “Alphatale is from Team Lavender”, for example. Continuing forward, we also wanted to talk about the future of Alphatale. Going forward, there are going to be three primary variations of Alphatale. Alphatale or Alphatale Classic, created by SHAD and presently being worked on by SHAD and Nyte; Alphatale Rho, a variation of Alphatale that exists in the Rhoverse created by me (Alphasaith); and Alphatale Nyte or N!Alphatale, created and written by Nyte.

Within Alphatale Classic, Nyte is going to continue and finish with Chapter 10, and SHADIKAL15 is going to be working on and writing Chapter 0 along with a number of short stories that help elaborate on the world. Alongside that, SHAD is also working on another related story known as AlphaRune.

Within Alphatale Rho, I am slowly working on that variation, though it falls into line with the greater story of the Rhoverse. The story that aligns with Alphatale Explained in the Classic story is already outlined, and the story itself is currently being written.

Within Alphatale Nyte, Nyte has drafted the story all the way through, and is about halfway done on prose-writing. Alphatale Nyte is said to be Nyte’s own take on Alphatale Classic, but to have its own unique story, similar to yet also different from the story of Alphatale Classic.

On the note of Alphatale variations, we would also like to make it known (again) that you (the audience) can make your own variations of Alphatale. Be sure to credit Team Lavender/@alphatale-re in your variations, preferably the link, so that way we know of it and can come and read your variations.

A Small Statement

So there was an ask sent to us by ANONYMOUS (We know who sent it we just keep them anonymous) stating "Alphaverse drools, Sagaverse rules". And I just want to say that it's very disrespectful towards both Nyte, SHADIKAL, and the rest of their team.

Now, we don't have nor want drama to ensue because of this. But I just want to say that please do not send anything that insults or disrespected AUs/AMs/fanfictions that other people have poured their passion into it, It's just disrespectful and certainly made without valid points.

Comparing fiction to other fiction is fine, but it needs to have valid points of each fictions' ups and downs to make it fair for both fiction. We don't condone these types of statements/insults to Alphaverse or any other fiction overall.

Please keep this in mind, we're trying our best to be respectful to other creators as well and things like this made us (Especially me) quite disappointed but not surprised. That's said, it's all we have to say for now.

Kinzie honestly didn’t believe him, but Keith did. Only because Keith knew you had a secret something going but didn’t know with who. So Kinzie figured it out as soon as he started refusing to help her save anyone (including the boss) until they saved you. You had to come first or he wasn’t helping. So, of course. Kinzie had to be the first to give. There was no time for this. 

When they got you out of your pod, Matt guided you from the cameras how to carefully sneak about undetected. And wrapped you up in a cloth and a hug as soon as you were with him again. He was so grateful, and although you had to get dressed and dried and they had a bunch of work to do... Kinzie realized how much you guys must have loved each other. She was so confused about it. You had been her right hand since landing in Steelport, every since Johnny died. You were brutal. Just like your mentor Johnny. You would kill anyone who crossed the gang. You were the enforcer, and you made people cower. But Matt, well... Matt was kind of a pussy. Still an asset, but still. So she was confused as to why you two got together. She never had an issue since you were a field member and Matt had his own team so there was no distraction.

“So,” the boss said. “I just have it in my head that he like to pretend to be Nyte Baylde.”

“No... nooooo...” you said, but when he turned around you nodded. Not really embarassed about much.

“Nice.”

Peirce:

Peirce didn’t like it. He had a little bit of a crush on you, but now you were with that guy. Also, you two had been really close friends and he was bummed you didn’t tell him.

“C’mon, why Matt?”

“I’m right here, Peirce. We’re all right here.”

“Okay, and?”

He gave you attitude for a while, but after he helped out the boss on a mission, and he killed some aliens, he felt a bit better. He was still gunna hit on you though, all the time.

Shaundi:

Shaundi loved it, actually. You were a brute, and you were a killer. But everybody needed to feel loved. She watched people die all the time in this business, and if one of her close friends can have a little bit of peace when they weren’t working, then good. But of course she needed all the gory details while you guys were on a run.

“Tell me about it.”

“About what?”

“His little Nyte Blayde!!”

“Shaundi, shut up!!” you laughed. “Also it’s not very little - it’s the nerdy ones who really pack some heat.”

Asha:

She didn’t really know you very well at all. And it made her weary to think her partner is caught up in some romantic entanglement. Those kinda thoughts derailed missions. If you two got into a fight or panic sets in at the other persons life... it’s messy. Dating in a squad like this. But when she found out it had already been going on for months, she all but dropped her worry. She had no idea and Matt was always on top of his game. 

Johnny Gat:

Johnny’s death had been hard for you. He had been your close friend, your mentor, kinda like your older brother. You killed a lot of things when you thought he was dead. You did a lot of damage. But then Matt came along, and you finally grieved years later with his help. 

But Gat never saw you as the dating type. After being away from you for so long, and realizing you’ve stepped into his shoes, and found love. Well, he loved it, really. You two were family and if you were happy, so was he.

But he never met Matt, so he would have no issue drilling a couple bullets directly into that guys’ skull if you say so...

but things were fine right now.

Also decided to do a new post so people don’t have to scroll until they’ve pass through hell and come out on the other side of the world.

2. Nicknames: CJ & Ceige (pronounced siege)- these are nicknames from my now dead name, but I don’t mind keeping them. CJ is from my students when I taught in China, cause they couldn’t pronounce my old name and Ceige is a ridiculous inside joke from my stunt performing friends. 

I am also called Cap, Captain, and Chief at work cause I’m a big important boss lady.

4. Favorite musicians or groups: Oh lord that list is way too long. I guess I’ll list some from my most listened to playlist on apple music recently?  Goo Goo Dolls, Nothing But Thieves, Nightwish, The Score, & Nyte.

19. Random fact (about me): I painted all the large artillery cannon and howitzers in Band of Brothers. I worked at a military warehouse in middle/high school that refurbished and replicated military antiques. If you ever watch it- on one of the German howitzer barrels there is a smiley face made out of the camouflage paint :)

I’m pretty sure the girl with the orange shirt is TIFFANY TYPHER, the girl who went to prom with Eric in 1995 and then left him, since Eric scared her with a fake suicide. She is also present in the footage “Inside Columbine” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSS0T9lYnj)

The girl at the centre of the photo with a fringe, is JENNIFER DOYLE, a library survivor. She hid under the table with Austin Eubanks and Corey DePooter. She was hit and laid near Corey’s body. She heard his last breath, before Austin told her to walk out from the library.

The boy who sits in the left lower corner is JOHN SAVAGE, who was in the library. Eric asked him to identify himself; they recognised him as a friend of them, so Dylan decided to let him free. in the cafeteria camera footage you can see him running down the stairs. In his same row, after 2 kids, you can see NICK BAUMGART, the prom date of Rachel Scott (April, 17) who was also a friend of the two shooters.

The girl with the white/yellow t-shirt is MOLLY HOLT (whose interview can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RIwWB-KFbQ&t=475s). She knew both shooters. She remembers one day, Eric became aware that her father fought in Vietnam. He started asking him weird questions: not about military techniques, experiences...but “if he ever killed a man”, “if he ever saw a dead body”...

The boy in the grey sweartshirt, is NYTE DYCKEMAN, a close friend of Eric and Dylan. At his left, there is DUSTIN GORTON, a friend of the shooters, who can be seen in the “Breakfast Run” (https://columbine-massacre.wikia.org/wiki/Breakfast_Run), a video that he made with Dylan, Eric and an another friend, Eric Jackson, the day before the shooting. He is also know for the photo of him crying and hugging his best friend outside the school, during the shooting.

Unfortunately, the photo is deformed, but you still can see: JEANNA PARK, the second oriental girl with a white sweatshirt, smiling at the camera. She was in the library and she was wounded. At her left, you can see LISA KREUTZ, the last survivor who was rescued in the library by the SWAT team at 3 pm. She was seriously wounded, so she couldn’t move. The girl with a big head (because of the deformation of the picture) is LAUREN TOWNSEND, one of the library victim. In the last row, there is VALEEN SCHNURR, who was wounded as well under the same table of the girls I named before. She can be heard screaming in the 911 phone call, after Dylan shot her and her friend Lauren. In the left lower corner, there is a girl who could be RACHEL GOODWIN. She was in the same psychology class of the shooters. For many people, she could be the “Rachel” that Eric and Dylan refer to, calling her “godly whore”, in the basement tape.

The girl with the red arrow is ALYSSA SECHLER, Eric’s crush. She said he was always nice to her; she believed that if Eric had encountered her on 4/20, he wouldn’t have shot her. In the centre of the picture, there are two girls hugging each other, the girl at your left is SABRINA COOLEY, the girl who turned out Eric’s prom invitation, humiliating him in front of the whole class.

HDJWHDWJDIWD MCDONALDS EMO BOY BE NICE TO HIM!!!!!!!! thats matt miller!!!!

A) hes autistic and yes i will die by this. his special interests are hacking/programming & nyte blayde!! we know hes exceptionally talented with hacking and it likely gave him the edge he needed to lead the deckers. he's a complete menace though and while he isnt too fond of his time sitting in the syndicate with killbane, he takes great pride in what he does. for nyte blayde its pretty obvious- he brings it up as often as he can, particularly with those he knows/trusts, he writes & reads fanfiction (dont lie to yourself matt), he holds the series near and dear to his heart. i think him making the simulation to share it with the boss was pretty peak special interest moments and goes to show how tight he thinks they are. OH ALSO BOSS GIVING HIM ALL THE RIGHTS TO THE SERIES WAS PRETTY SEXY... and thats just in canon! more headcanons include faking eye contact, stims by humming & hand flapping, and gets hyperverbal when hes overwhelmed on both positive & negative ends. also the tight clothes? sure it fits w his cyberpunk aesthetic but also thats absolutely pressure stimming. you cannot change my mind

B) he either kins nyte blayde or has a crush on him. he claims he hates self insert mary sues breaking canon but come on he literally wrote himself in a fanfic being nyte blayde's sidekick. also in his romance cutscene when you ask if he wants to Get Nasty he asks you to call him nyte blayde. its probably not that deep but i wish i was joking

C) i wrote a huge ass thing but cut it all down bc it was way longer than everything else & pretty in depth but in short: killbane is a shitlord and matts fucked up from his time in the syndicate. not like moving to the mi6 helped since he ended up working with the saints when boss won the presidency but at least hes best friends with his boss now & is treated like an adult and a valuable member of their little team. earth gang

D) matt never really cared for the business aspect since killbane & the dewynters/viola managed it all, so outside of extorting companies and smaller criminals using their services, he would help trans people get their names changed/make hrt more accessible/affordable. of course all in illegal ways but who cares trans rights! also hes cis and gay and i know thats rich coming from mako "everything i touch is trans" mikiruma. i cant defend myself

     I used to write on Tumblr as a RWBY OC named Julia Ecru.  URL was nyte-light for anyone who was around back when that was a thing.  I’ve thought about bringing her back on a sideblog or multimuse for a while.  Revy from Black Lagoon is her faceclaim.  She’s a 25 year old late applicant to Haven Academy and her team, NYTE, gets expelled so they become pirates.  Her story is a lot of fun tbh.

Hello everyone!! First off: huge thanks to everyone who filled out/shared the survey I posted a little while back. There were nearly 200 responses (190 to be exact) - MUCH more than I initially expected! So, I really appreciate it :)

Without further ado, here is the first set of results from the survey! This post is a basic report of average character ratings. More analysis to come!

IkeSen

Cybird's Ikemen Sengoku was the single most popular game in the survey (85% of you have played the game before!). Let's take a look at the average warlord ratings. Ratings were given from 1 to 10, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best.

It's safe to say that most of IkeSen's cast has been really well received by the fandom! Although meme-lord Sasuke leads the pack (by less than 0.01...), Team Nobunaga rates higher than Team Shingen+Kenshin by about 0.6 of a point on average (8.0 vs 7.4). ...And then, there's Kennyo. Poor guy. I'm not too surprised, though, tbh, given the monk's self-imposed angsty villain status.

What's funny is that neither of the top two warlords have main routes, at the moment. Seems like IkeSen fans have a lot to look forward to in future updates!

SLBP

Next up we have Voltage's super popular Samurai Love Ballad: PARTY app (played by 74% of you)! Here are the average ratings:

Unlike with IkeSen, where a good half of warlords were all rated more or less equally highly, there is tons more variation in the SLBP ratings! The entire Date clan is almost universally adored, with an average rating of 8.2 out of 10. People don't seem to be quite as fond of Team Nobunaga - the Oda clan+allies have an average rating of 6.5 (the Takeda clan averages out at 6.9).

The three ninjas (Saizo, Sasuke, and Sakuya), haven't been overly well received by the fandom either, with an average rating of 6.5. Voltage has been pushing the ninjas on us pretty hard, so it'll definitely be interesting to see how future ninjas are received by English-speaking fans!

Final SLBP thoughts: it's the “gentle” warlords that lead the pack in terms of ratings! Takeaway? Nice guys don't always finish last, after all. ;)

Let's move on to the super famous Mystic Messenger app, brought to us by the lovely Cheritz. A good 73% of you have played this game! It's pretty time intensive; props to everyone who'a finished all the routes. Based on what little I know about the fandom, the resulting ranking probably won't be all that shocking to you. 707 is an extremely popular fan favorite; I'm only surprised his average rating wasn't higher, to be honest.

MidCin

Next up, we have Cybird's Midnight Cinderella! All you Wysterian princess seem to really like your nobility, seeing as we have a duke, a king, and an archduke leading the pack. Those mysterious Stein boys (excluding the spoiler) are also slightly more well loved by the fandom overall, with an average rating of 7.5, compared to 7.1 for everyone else.

Last but certainly not least in our list of otome games, we have Ikemen Revolution, an exciting app from Cybird that's less than one month old! Given how new the app is, it is truly hilarious how quickly opinions have already formed. Let's take a look:

...Well then. The fandom seems to prefer the freedom-loving Muggles over the tyrannical wizards in general: Black Army ratings average 7.9, compared to 7.3 for the Red Army. To be fair, this survey was released two weeks ago, when the app was still pretty new, so I wonder if opinions will shift over time as more information about the armies and their conflict come to light!

Final observation: neither Oliver nor Yoosung from MysMe seem to have been all that well received by their respective fandoms. They are also both the most childish. Coincidence? I think not.

Bonus: MC ratings

Boys are cool and all, but if you’re anything like me, MC’s play can play a huge role in your enjoyment of a route. So which MC’s do folks like the best?

Turns out that while there are exceptions, IkeSen’s sass queen MC reigns supreme in most people’s hearts. Actually, if you think about it, the sass levels really start dropping the further down that MC ranking list you go.

So... the MC’s at the top of the list definitely strike me as much more Westernized, for lack of a better description, than the MC’s at the bottom. Which is fascinating, when you consider the fact that all of these games were developed in Asia. Just some food for thought.
