Also please note some stuff is UPG. A great book is Year of the Witch by Temperance Alden for honouring the celebrations and if you wanted to work more seasonally. It's not Wiccan-based and has plenty of resources for every witch.
Feel free to post how you celebrate in the comments or reblogs!

For many years, it was thought that the name "Worm Moon" referred to the earthworms that appear as the soil warms in spring. This invites robins and other birds to feed—a true sign of spring.
However, more research revealed another explanation. In the 1760s, Captain Jonathan Carver visited the Naudowessie (Dakota) and other Native American tribes and wrote that the name Worm Moon refers to a different sort of “worm”—beetle larvae—which begin to emerge from the thawing bark of trees and other winter hideouts at this time.
March’s full Moon often plays a role in religion, specifically in Christianity, this Moon is known as the Lenten Moon if it is the last full Moon of the winter season (i.e., if it occurs before the spring equinox) or as the Paschal Full Moon if it is the first full Moon of spring (i.e., if it occurs after the spring equinox).

This holiday marks the Spring Equinox, which happens before March 19-22. It is the second of three spring celebrations (the midpoint between Imbolc and Beltane)  during which light & darkness are again in balance, with light on the rise. It is a time of new beginnings & of life emerging further from the grips of winter.
There is much debate regarding the origins of Ostara due to the lack of primary sources about this sabbat. One theory is the name of Ostara came from the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre. Another theory is that Eostre is more of a localized goddess in Kent County, England. Despite the questions of her origins, Eostre is associated with modern-day Pagan traditions of Ostara.
There is no evidence that the ancient Greeks or Romans celebrated Ostara, although they did celebrate their own spring festivals, such as the Roman festival of Floralia & the Greek festival of Anthesteria. It was a time to honor the returning sun, fertility & rebirth.
Related festivals:
• Nowruz- March 19th
Nowruz marks the first day of spring & renewal of nature. It is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox. It is also celebrated as the beginning of the new year by people all around the world for over 3,000 years in the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East & other regions.
It promotes values of peace & solidarity between generations & within families as well as reconciliation & neighbourliness. Nowruz plays a significant role in strengthening the ties among peoples based on mutual respect & the ideals of peace and good neighbourliness.
Traditional customs of Nowruz include fire & water, ritual dances, gift exchanges, reciting poetry, symbolic objects & more; these customs differ between the diverse peoples & countries that celebrate the festival.
• Holi- March 25th
Holi is a popular & significant Hindu festival celebrated as the The festival of colors, Love &Spring. It commemorates eternal and divine love of the deities Radha & Krishna. Additionally, the day signifies the triumph of good over evil, as it celebratess the victory of Vishnu as Narasimha over Hiranyakashipu. Holi originated & is predominantly celebrated in the Indian subcontinent, but has also spread to other regions of Asia & parts of the Western world through the Indian diaspora.
Holi also celebrates the arrival of Spring in India, the end of winter & the blossoming of love. It is also an invocation for a good spring harvest season. It lasts for a night & a day, starting on the evening of the Purnima (full moon day) falling on the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna, which falls around the middle of March in the Gregorian calendar.
• Easter- March 31st
also called Pascha or Resurrection Sunday is a Christian festival & cultural holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD. It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus Christ, preceded by Lent (or Great Lent), a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, & penance.
Easter traditions vary across the Christian world & include sunrise services or late-night vigils, exclamations & exchanges of Paschal greetings, flowering the cross & the decoration and the communal breaking of Easter eggs (a symbol of the empty tomb) among many others. The Easter lily is a symbol of the resurrection in Western Christianity traditionally decorates the chancel area of churches on this day & for the rest of Eastertide. Additional customs that have become associated with Easter & are observed by both Christians & some non-Christians include Easter parades, communal dancing, the Easter Bunny & egg hunting.
Other Celebrations:
• Festival of Luna- March 31st
Is a feast day honoring the Goddess Luna who is seen as the divine embodiment of the Moon.
The Temple of Luna was a temple on the Aventine Hill in Rome, dedicated to Luna, the moon goddess. Its dedication was celebrated on March 31st, thus the celebration.
According to Tacitus, it was built by king Servius Tullius. However, the first confirmed reference to a temple to Luna dates to 182 BC & refers to one of its doors being knocked off its posts by a miraculous blast of air & shot into the back of the Temple of Ceres. That account probably places the temple at the north end of the hill, just above porta Trigemina. The temple was struck by lightning around the time of the death of Cinna, as was the temple of Ceres. After the destruction of Corinth, Lucius Mummius Achaicus dedicated some of his spoils from the city to this temple. It was destroyed in the Great Fire of Rome in 64 AD & not rebuilt.

It's not fair.
It's not fair.
It's not fair.
IT'S NOT FAIR!
How dare she? How dare she do everything she's doing right now? How dare she be with that man he warned her about. He will use her, he will play with her like a toy and then throw her away like trash.
That smile on their faces… It makes him sick.
How dare he? How dare he take the only thing he ever wanted? How dare he touch her and kiss her and expose her that way? She will suffer again.
He has to fix it. He has to take him away from her, make sure he doesn't touch her again.
But how… HOW?!
He has been staring at the screen of his laptop for God knows how long, his eyes are dry because of the light of the screen and the darkness in the room. The pictures, the comments, her smile, his smile.
Another notification from that phone.
He grabbed it, reading the text, smiling at it.
Vivi💜: Guess where am I now? Egypt!
Vivi💜: Lando and I came here to spend the New Year! It's really amazing!
Vivi💜: please, just say something… I'm really worried
He smirked reading it, looking at the multiple texts she sent to her friend.
It was kinda easy getting rid of Eloise. There's nothing better than a broken brake in the car to make sure she can't stop it while driving through a frozen road on her way to her village, making her have a crash.
It was easy acting desperate when he received the call from her parents, going there and looking at that girl he happily got rid of laying lifeless on a coffin. It was so easy convincing her parents saying that Violet, her childhood friend, is no longer her friend, making sure they don't even talk to her.
But now he has someone else on his radar. He has to make sure Lando is away from her, forever. He tried to warn him, sending him some gifts, some friendly reminders. But he's too stupid to use his brain and think that he should get away from her.
Lando Norris needs to get away from her, or else he will put his hands on the matter.

Proportionality
Savathûn flew heavily through the shifting skies of her Throne World. She struggled to build speed; her wings seemed frustratingly stiff following her resurrection. She felt slow and uncoordinated, as if her body was not yet entirely her own. She frowned and drifted to the side, favoring her right, and did not see the spinning disk of Void energy until it caught her low in the thorax and sent tumbling to the ground.
There was a terrible noise, a flash of purple metal, and then... it was over.
Immaru materialized in a burst of Light. He looked down at Savathûn, and then up to Saint-14, who stood over her body.
"Already?" Immaru muttered in disbelief.
Saint's face was hidden beneath his helmet. The lavender ribbons on his armor swayed and trailed with each heavy breath. It took him a moment to acknowledge the Ghost.
"I heard you were in Vanguard custody," Saint said.
"I'm not a prisoner," Immaru sniffed. "More like an insurance policy. Anyway, I could sense something happened and Eris let me come down and check it out."
Saint nodded, his focus still on Savathûn. "Something happened, yes," he said, and nudged the pile of broken chitin and crumpled wings with his boot.
Immaru hovered close to Savathûn. "I'm not even gonna ask," he said while channeling his Light.
Savathûn rose to her knees. She took a raspy breath, opened her eyes, and found Saint. She smiled. "For Os-"
Saint stopped her.
Immaru flew into Saint's face. "All right!" he shouted. "You've made your point!"
Saint wiped the steaming ichor from his visor with a thumb and gestured to Savathûn's remains. "Again," he said pointedly.
"Yeah, I don't think so," Immaru replied and initiated his transmat.
Saint suddenly flared with Void energy. He threw his palms out to his sides, and a violet Ward of Dawn dome burst from him.
Immaru felt it ripple through him like a pressure wave, disrupting his transmission. He bobbed unsteadily-he was unable to see. But he could feel, and now Saint's armored hand gripped him so tightly that a hairline split ran through his shell.
"You will bring her back," Saint said.
"I'm getting a little tired of you people threatening to kill me," Immaru said into the muffled void.
Saint's fist loosened by a fraction. "You will bring her back, and I give my word that you and she will both leave when I am finished."
"When you're finished?" Immaru echoed, and he felt Saint release him. He sensed for Savathûn's form hidden in the blackness. He grimaced, focused his Light, and Savathûn began to rise once more.
"Savathûn," Saint said, and killed her.
"You are very new to resurrection as a Lightbearer."
"In the beginning, there is a weakness when you first come back."
"Like waking from a deep sleep. From a coma."
"That is why I can best you; you are still unsteady."
"You are Hive, and you know suffering. You come from death. It is nothing to you."
"But I think, maybe, you do now know how it feels to be helpless."
"I will teach you."
***
After a long, long time, Saint was finished. The dome vanished, exposing the Exo, the Ghost, and the god to the murky Throne World sky.
Saint slowly keyed in his transport request and removed his helmet. As he transmatted out, he looked once more at Savathûn.
"This was not for Osiris," he said, his voice hoarse and ragged.
"This was for me."
***
When Saint returned home, Osiris met him at the door. "You were gone for a while. That must have been quite the patrol," he said. "Are you hungry?"
And Saint-14-the greatest Titan who ever lived-fell into his open arms and wept.

Liber Liberi vel Lapidis Lazuli Adumbratio Kabbalae Aegyptiorum sub figurâ VII
I
1. My God, how I love Thee!
2. With the vehement appetite of a beast I hunt Thee through the Universe.
3. Thou art standing as it were upon a pinnacle at the edge of some fortified city. I am a white bird, and perch upon Thee.
4. Thou art My Lover: I see Thee as a nymph with her white limbs stretched by the spring.
5. She lies upon the moss; there is none other but she:
6. Art Thou not Pan?
7. I am He. Speak not, O my God! Let the work be accomplished in silence.
8. Let my cry of pain be crystallized into a little white fawn to run away into the forest!
9. Thou art a centaur, O my God, from the violet-blossoms that crown Thee to the hoofs of the horse.
10. Thou art harder than tempered steel; there is no diamond beside Thee.
11. Did I not yield this body and soul?
12. I woo thee with a dagger drawn across my throat.
13. Let the spout of blood quench Thy blood-thirst, O my God!
14. Thou art a little white rabbit in the burrow Night.
15. I am greater than the fox and the hole.
16. Give me Thy kisses, O Lord God!
17. The lightning came and licked up the little flock of sheep.
18. There is a tongue and a flame; I see that trident walking over the sea.
19. A phœnix hath it for its head; below are two prongs. They spear the wicked.
20. I will spear Thee, O Thou little grey god, unless Thou beware!
21. From the grey to the gold; from the gold to that which is beyond the gold of Ophir.
22. My God! but I love Thee!
23. Why hast Thou whispered so ambiguous things? Wast Thou afraid, O goat-hoofed One, O horned One, O pillar of lightning?
24. From the lightning fall pearls; from the pearls black specks of nothing.
25. I based all on one, one on naught.
26. Afloat in the æther, O my God, my God!
27. O Thou great hooded sun of glory, cut off these eyelids!
28. Nature shall die out; she hideth me, closing mine eyelids with fear, she hideth me from My destruction, O Thou open eye.
29. O ever-weeping One!
30. Not Isis my mother, nor Osiris my self; but the incestuous Horus given over to Typhon, so may I be!
31. There thought; and thought is evil.
32. Pan! Pan! Io Pan! it is enough.
33. Fall not into death, O my soul! Think that death is the bed into which you are falling!
34. O how I love Thee, O my God! Especially is there a vehement parallel light from infinity, vilely diffracted in the haze of this mind.
35. I love Thee.
I love Thee.
I love Thee.
36. Thou art a beautiful thing whiter than a woman in the column of this vibration.
37. I shoot up vertically like an arrow, and become that Above.
38. But it is death, and the flame of the pyre.
39. Ascend in the flame of the pyre, O my soul! Thy God is like the cold emptiness of the utmost heaven, into which thou radiatest thy little light.
40. When Thou shall know me, O empty God, my flame shall utterly expire in Thy great N. O. X.
41. What shalt Thou be, my God, when I have ceased to love Thee?
42. A worm, a nothing, a niddering knave!
43. But Oh! I love Thee.
44. I have thrown a million flowers from the basket of the Beyond at Thy feet, I have anointed Thee and Thy Staff with oil and blood and kisses.
45. I have kindled Thy marble into life — ay! into death.
46. I have been smitten with the reek of Thy mouth, that drinketh never wine but life.
47. How the dew of the Universe whitens the lips!
48. Ah! trickling flow of the stars of the mother Supernal, begone!
49. I Am She that should come, the Virgin of all men.
50. I am a boy before Thee, O Thou satyr God.
51. Thou wilt inflict the punishment of pleasure — Now! Now! Now!
52. Io Pan! Io Pan! I love Thee. I love Thee.
53. O my God, spare me!
54. Now!
It is done! Death.
55. I cried aloud the word — and it was a mighty spell to bind the Invisible, an enchantment to unbind the bound; yea, to unbind the bound

Have accepted that I'm just relistening to The strange Case of Starship Iris again and what gets me in episode 2 Checkpoint Osiris is that everyone acts like Arkady really conned Violet, really tricked her, and that Violet fell for it...which she did, but she also realized something was wrong in time to idk, adjust what she was doing? Stop and question and reassess the situation before the point of no return? Like, yes Violet does eventually do what Arkady wants her to do, which is toss the samples and save her own life, but by that point Arkady does actually have to be very genuine with Violet about wanting her to live and offering her something that is worth more than dying.
And keep in mind that Violet is under incredible duress, assumes she's going to die, her environment is actively working against her, and is being manipulated by someone who is very good at doing that, and the Carmen Gambit is - we know! - designed to prey on someone's vulnerabilities!
I don't think she gets enough credit from the other characters for being as sharp as she is in that moment. Not only does she realize that Arkady is lying, she turns around and is able to bluff her way into tripping Arkady up! She walks Arkady into a trap!

Let us begin our singing. It will haunt this great and holy mountain, and we will dance on our soft feet round the violet-dark spring and the altar of the mighty son of Kronos. We will bathe our gentle skin in Permessos. Then, on the highest slope we will make our dances, fair and lovely, stepping lively in time. From there we go forth, veiled in thick mist, and walk by night, uttering beautiful voice.
So said mighty Zeus’ daughters, they breathed into me wondrous voice, so that I should celebrate things of the future and things that were aforetime. Come now, from the Muses let us begin, as they tell of what is and what shall be and what was aforetime, voices in unison. The words flow untiring from their mouths, and sweet.
“I mean… just wow…” Steven sighed, eyes twinkling at you from across your desk.
“I know.” You nodded with deep satisfaction.
“You’re right, too.” he continued, “You really do get this sense that they were there.”
“It feels like it, huh?” you agreed, “With ancient Egypt, you have Pharaoh as the representative of higher power, but there isn’t this deep and messy interaction with the gods that I’ve come to love so much out of Greek myth. Especially when historical artists made work where they themselves interacted with gods, or were at least in conversation with them, like this or like Sappho.”
Lately, when Steven worked mornings, he had taken to peering into your cubicle on his breaks to see if you weren’t too busy for him to visit. It was quickly becoming your favorite ritual, and you found yourself often looking past your cubicle’s entrance as if you could will his curly head of hair to appear.
“I think the closest equivalent I can come to is the temple of Philae…” Steven thought aloud, he leaned over your desk excitedly. You smiled, nodding as you thought of the description of it in the book Steven lent you.
Close by this temple of Osiris at Philae was a small one, dedicated to his queen and sister, Isis. A later writer speaks of it as “the most strangely wild and beautiful spot he ever beheld. Here spreads a deep drift of silvery sand, fringed by rich verdure and purple blossoms; there, a grove of palms, intermingled with flowering acacia; and there, through vistas of craggy cliffs and gloomy foliage, gleams a calm blue lake, with the sacred island in the midst, green to the water’s edge, except where the walls of the old temple city are reflected.”
“From the little I’ve glimpsed so far, it seems like Osirus and Isis’ marriage is a very popular story?”
“Oh, yea, super.” Steven nodded significantly. “And for good reason too- I mean sewing your husband’s body back from fourteen pieces is quite a testimony to your love, I think.” There was a quiet pause as you took a moment to make sure the two of you were still being ignored, before Steven continued, “Is there a love story you like from Greek mythology?”
“Oh-” you took in a deep breath, overwhelmed by the question. “There are so many… I mean so, so many. You have the big ones, you know- like Odysseus and Penelope, Patroclus and Achilles, Hades and Persephone, the love triangle of Aphrodite, Ares and Hephaestus… the Greeks adored a good love story. They had 8 different kinds of Love, after all.”
“Eight, really?” Steven asked, leaning even further over your desk, his smile unfading.
“Yes! You have Storge, familial love. Philautia, self love. Agape, which I quite like, that’s love for everyone.”
“Ooh that’s very grand.” Steven chuckled.
“It is! Philia is also lovely- that’s deep friendship.”
“Alright, that was four.”  he counted, tilting his head as he looked into your eyes. If there were any emails or phone calls incoming you would have never known. You met Steven’s gaze, smiling back at him and feeling, strangely, as if you couldn’t inhale as much air as you would like to.
“Mhm… then we have Mania, which is obsessive love. You know, when you can’t stop thinking about someone and you’re just-” you shook your head, grinning, “kinda like when you first fall in love for someone, really hard, and you can’t think about anything else, you’re just tortured?”
A change passed over Steven’s face that was initially hard for you to read. At first, you thought the brightness of his eyes dimmed at your last words, but as you searched his face you realized that his eyes weren’t less bright due to dismay or boredom, they were less bright because his pupils were dilating as he watched you. Steven was so close to you that you could even see your own silhouette in his widening gaze.
“Um…” you continued on, swallowing dryly, “A..Another favorite of mine, Ludus… which is playful love, or like- young love. Eros, probably the best known, as it’s the spicy one. And lastly you have the love I’m certain Osirus and Isis shared…”
“What’s that one called?” Steven asked, eyes widening.
“Pragma, longstanding love… kind of the end goal, really.”
You jumped with a start as your desk phone began to ring loudly. Steven cleared his throat, pulling himself off of your desk and back into his chair, rubbing the side of his face with one hand as you twisted to pick up your phone. You frowned as you recognized the number on caller i.d. to be the gift shop’s extension. “Ut oh Steven…” you mumbled, picking up the phone. “Reception- how can I help you?” you answered as neutrally as possible, but you almost lost your professional composure as you glanced nervously at Steven, and found him staring at you like a child caught with their hand in the proverbial cookie jar.
“Hello- could you please tell me if there is a gift shop employee in the office? His name is Stevie?”
“Stevie?” you repeated, confused. Steven rolled his eyes, exasperated. “No, there is definitely no Stevie here I’m sorry to say… office is pretty empty. Is there something I can help you wi-” the phone clicked in your ear. Frowning, you pulled the receiver away from you to look at it, before hanging up the line and looking at Steven.
“Did Donna just hang up on you?” he asked, startled.
“I think she did?” you replied laughing, aghast.
“Oi- I hate that, I’m sorry.” Steven grimaced, standing up. “I don’t want you getting into trouble.”
“I’m not concerned, we work in two totally separate departments.” you shrugged. This seemed to reassure Steven as he patted down his pants pockets and made sure he had everything.
“Time to go sell some plastic ankhs?” you teased, grinning.
“Oh yes.” Steven replied lamely. “Some Nike of Samothrace snow globes as well.”
“Ouch- you got me.” you laughed, standing up too. You opened your mouth to ask about seeing him for lunch before you stopped yourself- what if you were being too demanding of his attention? With these new visits, any free time Steven had was being claimed by you. It felt presumptive to assume he wouldn’t like some time for himself. “Um… do you have any plans you're looking forward to, today?”
“Finishing the Theogony, that’s about it.” Steven replied, stepping out of your cubicle. “Talk about it over lunch, yea?”
You felt yourself blush. “If you want to!”
“Cheers!” Steven exclaimed, before darting away.
You sat back in your office chair and swiveled to face your computer, smiling to yourself. Steven was good. He was so, so good. Sighing dreamily, you refreshed your email and watched your screen filled with messages.
As you clicked through your emails you couldn’t help but to keep thinking about Steven, how lucky you were to become friends after only a few weeks of working at the museum. Even though Donna and Steven’s relationship didn’t seem great, part of you envied the amount they got to interact as a team. Your role was mostly emails between curators, accountants, marketing agents, and the Liaison Department.
You straightened in your chair as something occurred to you, hadn’t Steven said that he wanted to be a tour guide? You opened an email from Marketing briefing the Liaison Department on a new collection of work that would be showcased soon, asking the liaisons to study up on the attached pdf’s of art history so they could speak about the collection. You still hadn’t figured out why you seemed to be CC’d on every single email from any department under the museum roof, but now that didn’t seem so bad. They were all there- any branch manager you needed was available to you… even the curation team for the ancient Egyptian collection.
Tumblr media
“What have you got today?” you asked as you sat down beside Steven in the break room.
“I think what you mean is, what have I got us today!”’ Steven said triumphantly, as he pulled from his bag not one, but two lunches.
“What!” you exclaimed, eyebrows raised.
“Yea dove I made you lunch!” Steven grinned, all the more satisfied by your surprise. “It’s not bad either, we’ve got apples, some crisps, and avocado sandwiches! They’re quite good really, they’ve got lettuce and tomato in, and this spicy mustard.”
Steven set your lunch before you with a level of excitement equal to a conductor beginning a symphony. All you could do was stare, and make some strange smile with your mouth partly open, as you looked between him and the slightly crumpled, but still appetizing sandwich before you.
“I wanted to try and make this vegan caramel for the apples but I rather bungled that…” he continued, reminiscing on his caramel attempt with a cringe.
“I’m-“ you started to say, but you didn’t actually know what you were. Aside from the obvious attributes: deeply flattered, touched, and surprised. There was a tightness in your throat that you’d only usually felt when you were about to cry, but there were no tears forming in your eyes. You stared at the sandwich as if it held monumental power.
With a crunch, Steven bit into his apple. He nudged your arm with his elbow as he took another bite. You jumped a little and picked up your own.
“Cheers!” Steven said, tapping his apple against yours. Chucking, you took a bite.
You couldn’t have known how strange it was for Steven to be eating a lunch he made with a friend. He was nearly as surprised as you, that he was able to sit down with you today and provide this meal. Steven had never been very good about remembering to make himself up a lunch to take to work, but the idea of also making one for you, however modest it may be, was so exciting that it stuck in his mind. Instead of only remembering he should have packed food by the time he was clocking out for lunch, he had stopped at the market on the way home last night, imagining how this very moment would play out. As was usual, he had been hesitant to fall asleep, but the thought of having time in the morning to carefully assemble sandwiches gripped him with excitement and so he’d done his best, making sure his ankle restraint was tightly fastened to his leg no later than midnight, and stared up at his dark ceiling, silently begging it to let him sleep peacefully.
When Steven woke up it was nearly dawn. He was so bewildered by the unique light of early morning that for a moment he thought he’d only slept for a few minutes. His ankle was still securely fastened to its brace, and even more profoundly, he felt rested. Steven felt like he had won, but there was also a bitter sweetness to realizing his night had gone exactly as intended- that it was unlikely to happen again, or consistently.
He tried to brush off that anxiety though, as he watched you take the first bite of the sandwich he made. Whether you were just being angelically polite or genuinely enjoying it, he appreciated your attention nevertheless. What was better? To try and have some plans, some gifts, some special moments never materialize- or to never meet the opportunity to surprise you and make you smile?
That was an easy answer.
“You failed to mention earlier,” Steven started, chewing through a large bite of bread, “what your favorite ancient Greek love story is?”
“Oh right! Well that’s so difficult!” you groaned, grinning. “The reason may be nuanced, but I love Selene and Endymion’s story.”
“What is it?”
“Selene is the Moon goddess in the ancient Greek pantheon, and Endymion was a mortal shepherd Prince that would take his flock over hills and mountains at night. They fell in love, but because she was immortal and Endymion was not, Zeus extended his life by casting an eternal sleep upon Endymion.”
“Alright?” Steven responded, gesturing for you to keep explaining.
“That’s pretty much the whole story.” you laughed.
“Why is that your favorite then?” Steven asked, more spellbound than anything.
“Because! Okay this might sound a little cheesy but-”
“Sorry, I can’t do cheese. I’m vegan, remember?” Steven said with mock severity.
“Wow.” you replied flatly. You leaned back a little to watch Steven have a very hard time not laughing at his own joke. “Proud of yourself?”
“Go on, keep telling me why-” he choked out, bringing his hands to cover his mouth.
“No, no…” you replied, you resisted the twitch of a smile on your own face. “I don’t think I can after being eviscerated by your lactose free wit.”
“Please-” Steven wheezed faintly, nodding encouragingly, “Please, tell me.”
“Well-” you sighed haggardly, “What I was going to say is that I like it, because to me it feels metaphorical? No one should really ‘see’ the moon because it is at its best when we should be asleep, and yet we have and we do- and we have done for hundreds of years? Cultures with no connection all over the world have fallen in love with the Moon, which appears in its highest glory when our eyes should be closed? And I just think of that when thinking of Endymion. I think of how the night sky infatuates us, how humankind has always been so rhapsodic about it, even though as creatures we are useless in the dark and the night does little for anyone in a practical sense.
“Endymion is in this eternal sleep, induced by his love for the Moon… again, metaphorically, he’s fed by his affection for something so lovely? It just so simply encapsulates this understanding that people had way back then that even in a time of hardship, beauty was longed for and nourished humankind?”
Steven had stopped eating. He was simply staring at you, eyebrows raised.
“I know it sounds like I’ve thought about it too much- it’s because I do.” you qualified, embarrassed.
“No-” Steven replied, voice soft, brow furrowed. “You’re alright… that was, that’s good.”
You were not convinced that Steven was genuine in his reassurance. You cast your eyes downward, mind racing. This was an overstep on your part- you got a little too romantic, waxed a little too poetic about your favorite topic. You wanted to try to ground your thoughts. “Um… there’s an… there’s a quote from this book.” you offered weakly, pulling your phone out of your pocket for reference.
You read aloud, “There is a fundamental reason why we look at the sky with wonder and longing—for the same reason that we stand, hour after hour, gazing at the distant swell of the open ocean. There is something like an ancient wisdom, encoded and tucked away in our DNA, that knows its point of origin as surely as a salmon knows its creek. Intellectually, we may not want to return there, but the genes know, and long for their origins—their home in the salty depths. But if the seas are our immediate source, the penultimate source is certainly the heavens… The spectacular truth is—and this is something that your DNA has known all along—the very atoms of your body—the iron, calcium, phosphorus, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and on and on—were initially forged in long-dead stars. This is why, when you stand outside under a moonless, country sky, you feel some ineffable tugging at your innards. We are star stuff.“ The quiet you were greeted with felt unbearable. Quickly tucking your phone back in your pocket, you smiled, and sighed. “I mean those are the words of an astronomer, but the ancient Greeks were saying the same thing- We can’t help ourselves. We’re all in love with the moon.”
Mania.  Steven thought.
“I…” Steven started, before stopping himself with a shake of his head. He still hadn’t touched any food. Sighing your name, Steven glanced into your eyes, head still shaking. “You… um, you think- You think very beautifully.”
“Hah-” you breathed, it was a sound of deepest regret. Why? Why had you been so open. You could have probably cooked an egg on your cheek, it felt so warm. You were desperate for some way out of being the talkative one. “You know, I don’t actually know if there was a Moon god in the Egyptian pantheon?”
“Oh-” Steven’s tone changed to something significantly less enchanted. “Yea. His name is Khonshu, god of the Moon, protector of those who travel at night.”
“...not a fan?” you asked, unable to help smiling at how personally offended Steven seemed by invoking Khonshu.
“Not really.” he replied, shrugging.
“Aha!” you grinned, taking a triumphant bite of your apple. “And there it is.”
“What?” Steven asked.
“The beginning of the end, Steven.” you hummed, “Greek god versus Egyptian God, Selene beats Khonshu.”
“HAH!” Steven laughed so loudly the rest of your coworkers in the break room glanced over. Why did this always happen to you two? Steven grasped at his chest, his eyes closed by the strength of his giggles. “Alright dove, that one you can have.”

Vanishipping/Revolutionshipping fanfic:"Part-Time Job Chapter 1
I couldn't stop thinking about this idea when I saw Remi Malek dressed as a pharaoh. Tthis fanfiction is in the canon universe of Yu-Gi-Oh! but the story, as we know it, is changed by a single detail:
The millennium puzzle was never solved.
English is not my firts language but a trying to be better.
Enjoy.
"Part-Time Job"
Chapter 1
Why? Everything it had simply gotten out of control.
One second she was delivering her order to a boy and the next she was soaked from head to toe in soda and out of a job. Damn her customers' jealous, hysterical girlfriends!
Her job at Burger World was simple to do: bring burgers and fries with a smile to hungry consumers for them to enjoy. The smile was like a part of her attire and yet that  girl had not stopped blaming her for being “cheeky”.
"As if I'm interested in flirting with customers, especially when they have girlfriends" she thought with a grunt stopping and looking once more at the paper she clutched in her right hand.
"SECURITY GUARD WANTED"
Once the manager of Burger World had put her, and her belongings, out on the street, a kindly old man had approached and with a smile had given her the announcement.
She looked up uncomfortably. Her blue eyes slid down the front steps to the huge marble door that read “Domino City Museum” in big black letters.
She couldn't believe than she had actually gone. She had officially freaked out!
She was there hoping to get the night guard position at the city museum because it was her last option, she needed the money and for a College school student there wasn't much to choose from!
Anzu shivered as a blast of cold air rushed down her back. With the night so late, the November weather was merciless. Shrugging her shoulders, she took a deep breath and walked towards the main entrance, hiding her face in her scarf.
The museum was about to close and only a few people remained inside due to the cold weather. Anzu smiled pitifully, realising that thanks to the guides, the last visitors would be forced to empty the building.
She didn't know where she should ask for information about the vacancy, she turned around herself trying to locate an information desk or any museum worker.
"Oh you really came!" exclaimed a voice from behind, startling her. Anzu turned her face to find the same old man from the restaurant. He was a rather short and curious man, wearing green overalls and a funny orange scarf over his tousled and graying head.
"I'm quite glad" continued the older man, folding his arms and looking at her with his big violet eyes.
"And you're early too" he exclaimed admiringly, looking for a few seconds at his wristwatch "That proves then that you're a dedicated person."
"Thank you" Anzu smiled apologetically at the compliment and was surprised at how pleasant it was to talk to him.
"Oh come on you don't have to be so shy!" invited the old man smiling encouragingly "After all if you decide to keep the job we'll see each other quite often".
"Well, that's a bit hasty, don't you think Sir?" Anzu laughed encouragingly.
"Oh no! Don't call me sir. That makes me feel old!" he exclaimed with a grimace of horror, the chestnut laughed loudly at her face.
"But...I don't even know your name," the girl clarified with a huge smile. The old man suddenly stopped grimacing and stood still as if he had seen a ghost.
"By Osiris, it's true!" he shouted causing the brunette to burst out laughing again. Their laughter echoed through the large room.
By now the museum had closed its doors and there was no one but them in the main hall. Anzu surveyed the room with new eyes... it no longer looked as huge as it had at first seemed. An impression generated, no doubt, by the nerves and uncertainty of a new job.
"I am Anzu, Mazaki Anzu" She said bowing to the old man "I am here for the vacancy of night guard."
The old man looked carefully at the girl in front of him. She was very young, probably just old enough to work, but when he saw her in the situation that had led to her dismissal she had looked so broken that he doubted she worked for mere pleasure... he had deduced that she needed the job to achieve something truly great.
She was well-mannered and quite pretty: with beautiful blue eyes and silky brown hair, her appearance was striking for a Japanese woman; no doubt it had caused her far more trouble than the afternoon's commotion at Burger World.
The old man smiled, giving her a thumbs up as a job candidate, especially since the job wasn't for just anyone.
"It takes someone special..." He thought combing his beard with his fingers "...for a special job."
The girl looked up confused by the old man's lack of response. This gesture brought the man out of his thoughts and he bowed respectfully.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Anzu. My name is Sugoroku..."
"MUTOU!" shouted a male voice startling them "There you are I've been looking all over the museum for you!"
Anzu clenched his fist over his chest. Damn! She had felt her heart skip a beat in fright. She looked up watching as a young man approached almost at a trot to where she and Mr... Mutou were standing.
"I'm so sorry Marik" the older man replied with a smile, pointing at her with a thumb "I got distracted."
"You old pervert," whispered the boy, giving Mr. Mutou an unpleasant look. Then he turned his gaze to Anzu.
The brunette froze in place as she was stared at, the boy's tabby eyes surrounded by a thick layer of eyelashes. They were so thick that she couldn't tell where the lashes ended and his strange eyeliner began. The tattooed lines stood out against his smooth brown skin and made his tousled blond hair and the piercings in his ears even more striking.
The boy was attractive...
"Look girl, the museum is closed. So you'd better go home," he explained, dismissing her with a wave of his left hand and returning his attention to the old man.
What a lout brat! Anzu felt her ears redden with anger.
"I'm sorry but I'm not here to visit" She replied firmly drawing the attention of both men "I came here for work".
Sugoroku Mutou watched the girl's posture with interest. Anzu looked rather confident with her chin raised and fierce eyes fixed on Marik, the boy sighed boredly paying no attention to what the chestnut said.
"The vacancy has already been filled," Marik said without any consideration. With growing pleasure he noticed how the chestnut's posture broke.
Anzu felt a dead weight on her stomach. No way, this job was her last chance, she needed the job!
"PLEASE, I NEED THIS JOB!" shouted Anzu suddenly making both men jump in shock. "I'll do anything to get it!"
"I already told you the vacancy was filled. So do us a favor and leave" Marik clicked his tongue ignoring the girl's forlorn expression outright, Mr. Mutou scowled at him silently reproaching him for how rude he was being to her; an expression the blond took it upon himself to ignore as well.
"PLEASE!" pleaded Anzu once again feeling in horror as her eyes glazed over "I'LL DO ANYTHING!"
This time Marik couldn't ignore her face no matter how hard he tried, with growing concern he watched as the girl's blue eyes filled with tears. Sugoroku watched the chestnut's face sadly thinking how normal it was for her to cry. In one day she had already lost two jobs.
"I...I'm sorry...I...." Stammered Marik unconsciously playing with his right earring, feeling bad for her. Time seemed to stand still for a few seconds.
Anzu had closed her eyes as she clenched her fists against her chest, silently pleading. She felt as if someone approached from her right side and stared at her, then something soft brushed her cheek wiping away one of the tears that had come in her despair.
She opened her eyes shocked by the contact and noticed with wide eyes that Marik and Mr. Mutou were still in the same place as before, looking at her with surprised expressions.
If they hadn't moved, who touched her cheek then?
"If she really wants the job, we could give her a few days trial run" Someone exclaimed from the end of the room. Anzu jumped in place mentally chiding herself for how prone to surprise she seemed to be that night "Alright Mazaki, that's three times now."
"Sister" Marik whispered turning his attention ruefully back to the woman who had spoken.
Sister? Anzu wondered in surprise, but they didn't look anything alike!
The woman walked towards them, her long black hair swaying with every step she took, and she never took her eyes off her. Anzu shrank back once she was in front of her, she was gorgeous!
"If the job pleases you we could open one more vacancy" The woman continued smiling kindly at Anzu "Are you interested?"
Anzu snapped out of her astonishment and smiled hugely.
"Yes, yes I am interested!" She replied quickly holding back the urge to dance in excitement. The brunette stared at her with her blue orbs and an interested smile formed on her lips.
"Mr. Mutou" Whispered the brunette turning her gaze back to the older man "Could you take Miss...."
"Anzu Mazaki" the brunette hastened to add blushing for interrupting.
"Sure, Miss Anzu to the office so we can talk about work more calmly" Sugoroku nodded with a smile to the black haired woman and gesturing to Anzu invited her to follow him.
Anzu smiled hugely and bowing to them, followed the old man. Marik and his sister watched intently as the two disappeared through the door at the back.
"Sister..." whispered Marik looking at her with interest "...The one from a moment ago was HIM?"
The brunette nodded momentarily erasing her smile. Marik turned his face once more down the path where the old man and the brunette had disappeared.
"This is going to be interesting," he said with a grin, crossing his arms.
See ya in chapter 2 ;)

Today, December’s full Moon is most commonly known as the Cold Moon—a Mohawk name that conveys the frigid conditions of this time of year, when cold weather truly begins to grip us.
This full Moon has also been called the Long Night Moon (Mohican), as it rises during the “longest” nights of the year, near the December winter solstice. This name is doubly fitting because December’s full Moon shines above the horizon for a more extended period than most full Moons.
In Europe, ancient pagans called the December full Moon the “Moon Before Yule,” in honor of the Yuletide festival celebrating the return of the sun heralded by winter solstice.

“Yule” comes from Old English geol, which shares a history with the equivalent word from Old Norse, jól. Both these words referred to a midwinter festival centered around the winter solstice, which traditionally marked the halfway point of the winter season. After the solstice—the shortest day of the year—the days again begin to grow longer, so it’s thought that Yule was a celebration of the re-appearance of the Sun &the fertile land’s rebirth.
The celebration of Yule is one of the oldest winter celebrations in the world. Ancient people were hunters & spent most of their time outdoors. The seasons & weather played a significant part in their lives. The customs and traditions associated with it vary widely.
Scholars have connected the original celebrations of Yule to the Wild Hunt, the god Odin, and the heathen Anglo-Saxon Mōdraniht ("Mothers' Night")
Some believe it marks the rebirth of the Sun (the God) from the Earth (the Goddess) & the cold days of winter will soon begin to wane. The Goddess is seen in her virgin Maiden aspect
In towns and cities throughout Sweden during the Christmas season, large goats are constructed out of straw. It is thought that the tradition originated in ancient times, perhaps as a tribute to the god Thor, who was said to ride in a chariot pulled by goats. In Sweden the goat came to be associated with the Christmas celebration, and the Yule goat is now considered by many to be a companion or counterpart to Santa Claus.
Related festivals:
Christmas- An annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ as the son of God, primarily observed on December 25th
Hanukkah- A Jewish festival commemorating the recovery of Jerusalem & subsequent rededication of the Second Temple at the beginning of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BCE.
Hanukkah is observed for eight nights & days, starting on the 25th day of Kislev according to the Hebrew calendar, which may occur at any time from late November to late December in the Gregorian calendar. The festival is observed by lighting the candles of a candelabrum with nine branches, commonly called a menorah or hanukkiah.
Kwanzaa- An annual celebration of African-American culture from December 26 to January 1st, culminating in a communal feast called Karamu, usually on the sixth day. It was created by activist Maulana Karenga, based on African harvest festival traditions from various parts of West & Southeast Africa. Kwanzaa was first celebrated in 1966.
A Kwanzaa ceremony may include drumming and musical selections, libations, a reading of the African Pledge & the Principles of Blackness, reflection on the Pan-African colors, a discussion of the African principle of the day or a chapter in African history, a candle-lighting ritual, artistic performance & finally, a feast of faith (Karamu Ya Imani).
Saturnalia-
is an ancient Roman festival and holiday in honour of the god Saturn, held on 17 December of the Julian calendar & later expanded with festivities through to 23 December. The holiday was celebrated with a sacrifice at the Temple of Saturn, in the Roman Forum & a public banquet, followed by private gift-giving, continual partying & a carnival atmosphere that overturned Roman social norms: gambling was permitted & masters provided table service for their slaves as it was seen as a time of liberty for both slaves and freedmen alike.
A common custom was the election of a "King of the Saturnalia", who gave orders to people, which were followed & presided over the merrymaking. The gifts exchanged were usually gag gifts or small figurines made of wax or pottery known as sigillaria. The poet Catullus called it "the best of days".
Other celebrations:
Feast of Epona-
Eponalia is the feast day of Gaulish Goddess Epona, the Divine Mare & in the time of the Roman Empire it was celebrated on December 18th.
Epona is known to be one of a very few Gaulish deities whose names were spread to the rest of the Roman Empire. This seems to have happened because Roman cavalry units stationed in Gaul followed Her & adopted her as their Patroness. This may have started because many of the cavalry troops were conscripted from Gaul as they were superb horsemen. From Gaul the Romans took Epona with them including to Rome where She was given her own feast day on the 18 December. They worshipped her as Epona Augusta or Epona Regina & invoked her on behalf of the Emperor. She even had a shrine in the barracks of the Imperial Bodyguard.
Hunting of the Wren-
A traditional custom carried out on the Isle of Man on the 26 December, St. Stephen's Day. It consists of groups of people going around villages and towns singing and dancing a traditional song and dance around a decorated wren pole.
The earliest and most common folklore story accounting for the origin of hunt the wren tells of a fairy/enchantress/witch whose beauty lures the men of the Isle of Man to harm, for which she is chased and is changed into the form of a wren. It is therefore in punishment for her actions that the wren is hunted on St. Stephen's Day

Savathûn flew heavily through the shifting skies of her Throne World. She struggled to build speed; her wings seemed frustratingly stiff following her resurrection. She felt slow and uncoordinated, as if her body was not yet entirely her own. She frowned and drifted to the side, favoring her right, and did not see the spinning disk of Void energy until it caught her low in the thorax and sent her tumbling to the ground.
There was a terrible noise, a flash of purple metal, and then… it was over.
Immaru materialized in a burst of Light. He looked down at Savathûn, and then to Saint-14, who stood over her body.
She smiled. "For Os—"
He bobbed unsteadily—he was unable to see. But he could feel, and now Saint's armored hand gripped him so tightly that a hairline split eran through his shell.
"You will bring her back," Saint said.
"I'm getting a little tired of you people threatening to kill me," Immaru said into the muffled void.
Saint's fist loosened by a fraction. "You will bring her back, and I give my word that you and she will both leave when I am finished."
"When you're finished?" Immary echoed, and he felt Saint release him. He sensed for Savathûn's form hidden in the blackness. He grimaced, focused his Light, and Savathûn began to rise once more.
"Savathûn," Saint said, and killed her.
"You are very new to resurrection as a Lightbearer."
"In the beginning, there is weakness when you first come back."
"Like waking from a deep sleep. From a coma."
"That is why I can best you; you are still unsteady."
"You are Hive, and you know suffering. You come from death. It is nothing to you."
"But I think, maybe, you do not know how it feels to be helpless."
That must have been quite the patrol,"he said. "Are you hungry?"
And Saint-14—the greatest Titan who ever lived—fell into his open arms and wept.
