it’s supposed to be a double date but really, touya and tomura are more like chaperones to us, accompanying me and you as we coo over one another. we’re bar hopping, sharing straws from cocktails and asking for refills of champagne and feeding each other maraschino cherries or strawberries or whatever fruits garnish our drinks. we’re holding hands with one another as we bob and weave through the streets, more caught up in the glow of our excitement and our respective boyfriends trail behind us.

we’re a little ahead of them and when they turn a corner, they’re pleasantly surprised to find us smooching. that’s when they finally pump the brakes.

they pull us away and we play the dramatics, “noooo!! don’t take me away from my girlfriend!!”

we’re in the backseat of tomura’s car when the date is over, still woozy with alcohol in our system and the occasional giggle can be heard. but by the time we’re back at tomura’s place, we’re passed out with one of us leaning onto the other’s shoulder as a pillow.

but it’s time to part ways, we’re being shaken awake. we’re groggy, the drunkenness not quite having tapered off and we make small little sounds of sadness. “say goodbye to your date, just text each other whenever you wake up.”
