A very random Scene 0 theory
Okay, hear me out.
Everyone keeps saying Mabayu looks/acts like an OC, being thrown awkwardly into the main cast, and retconned into existence. I’m here to propose that that’s intentional.
Mabayu wasn’t supposed to be part of the main cast and was just “edited out”. Mabayu WISHED to be part of the main cast. She wished to be a protagonist. That’s why everything is film reels, that’s why she has scissors. She isn’t cutting scenes out, she’s PASTING HERSELF IN. She’s splicing herself into a group and a series of events that she was never supposed to be involved with. She’s an editor, not a deletion. Note, too, that her magical girl outfit is centered around the film reels. If she was just a normal magical girl thrown out, why would her magical girl outfit reflect that? Shouldn’t she have made her wish beforehand? Shouldn’t it have been based around the wish she had pre-cut? Unless, of course…the film stuff related to her wish. In the era of film, most editing amounted to literally cutting and pasting on a reel…and she has a pair of scissors. She’s the one doing the editing. She’s the one with the editing tools.
That’s why her color scheme is wrong, that’s why her outfit is different, that’s why her involvement is so freaking forced. She’s a self insert OC of HERSELF.
Anyways that’s my theory of the day have a good night y’all

I am literally obsessed with everything you do that involves sifloop you are THE sifloop artist to me
thank you!!! it means a lot to hear that haha
I've been like... near exclusively an OC artist for like 8 years at this point so every time i post fanart and ESPECIALLY ship art i feel like i have to fight every screaming cell in my body to post it because i feel like... RUDE? for projecting my own thoughts onto another creator's characters LMAO... so it's reassuring to know people actually like what i'm contributing!!
Tumblr media
as for sifloop as a ship. i really should draw more isiloops because . rotates all three of them in my mind. but yeah. I think the thing I like most about the dynamic really is the like... way Siffrin and Loop canonically aggress each other despite an extremely persistent undercurrent of caring about the other not suffering.
Like. the back and forth between Loop constantly talking past/through Siffrin to really painfully insult the pair of them, and things like the [Forgetting Mirabelle's Name] event being so astoundingly gentle. just as a general example. (RNG event that only triggers after certain actions so you may need to look it up)
THEN adding the element of throwing them in postcanon with neither of them wanting to upset the party and thus having to keep a lid on it... I like the potential dynamics of such a painful and conflicted relationship having to be almost hidden and downplayed so as to try and not worry anyone, and thus becoming softer and introspective while still keeping a bunch of the more insidiously toxic behaviour.
Both of them acting with genuine best intentions in mind but still understanding each other to have way *way* more sadness and anger and guilt than they let on, and thus being able to clock it. Both for good and ill. Neither of them enjoy confrontation, but it's almost unavoidable when they KNOW the other knows what they're probably thinking.
. but yeah i just think they're neat! also a bunch of stuff related to asexuality but . shh

💖Obviously I had to draw this scene and also I know this probably wasn’t the intention behind it but it kinda looks like a proposal lol💖

My mum asked me if Käärijä was gay because of how he acts around Häärijä, Tommy, and Bojan
What’s making me lose it is that the stuff with Tommy and Häärijä is all obviously staged stuff for the camera, whereas the stuff with Bojan is just how they normally act around each other

In Which Witch, and I’m sorry if you’ve answered this in the past, but why does Soap say “did you just pint at me, witch” ? Is it rude? Is it because she’s a blood spinner? and the binding with the nereid, would it be okay to ask you to clarify? I’m just a little bit confused on that part—aside from all of this though, the way you write is so, so beautiful to me. Every time I come on your page, the way you spin words, it’s so wonderful that I can’t help but go back and read it over and over again
Hi! Happy to clarify:
The pointing is a witch thing. In some… lore, witches point to cast a hex. In the world that Which Witch takes place in, it’s the same. Johnny assumed she was casting some sort of spell or hex on him.
Fern accidentally casts a binding between her and Johnny because she’s all twisted up over his betrayal, without truly realizing it. It binds their souls and magic, creating a tether. Usually they can be reversed but Fern is pretty powerful, combined with Johnny’s chaos magic and the binding being cast under emotional duress… she can’t do anything about it. The binding eventually starts to eat away at her because it’s too strong, and it starts to burn through her soul, and power. The binding wanted Fern and Johnny bound. Obviously, with everything going on between them, that wasn’t going to be Fern’s first choice, so by her refusal to complete the binding… it started to harm her.
Everything in Faerie is pretty much solved by sex magic 🪄 (this is how Simon gave the Nereid/Ce her legs and was able to ensure she could live in the realm) and sex magic is how Johnny seals the binding and saves it from killing Fern. Fern helps too, obviously because she spins his blood into hers and joins their magic, but yeah.
Sorry if that makes absolutely zero sense. 🖤 thank you so much for reading it though! I love those two.

the THING about Disloyal Order Of Water Buffaloes is that, #1, it is one of the most melodically satisfying songs I've ever heard and that's why it was one of the first FOB songs I actually listened to of my own free choice, and #2, it makes people crazy insane bc so many of the lyrics simply make zero sense on a surface level EXCEPT "I'm half doomed and you're semi sweet" which IMMEDIATELY gets across its point and acts as a thesis statement to the song, thus allowing an understanding of the rest of the lyrics to fall into place
