“MASTER”
So to explain this character/OC/Final Boss this is based on a recent dream I had, one that was pretty wild in nature.
To begin, it was basically me watching gameplay footage of a new Kirby game, mainly at its finale. One of its phases was a large planetoid astroid, which appeared cobbled together and hiding something within, and during such phase the Love Love Stick from Dreamland 3 was used along with the Lor Starcutter. Soon it cuts to another scene where I assume this is the beginning part of the last phase, for some reason before the final chase down there was this melancholy walk where I saw memories of Magolor’s past, such as him wearing a adventurer’s hat and starting his expedition and research in the Ancients. Hell there was a moment where I saw Magolor and Marx hanging out as if they’re best buddies. When I saw this whole scene I legit thought to my self: “Wait is Magolor gonna die?”
It then cuts to final part, the final chase to the boss and it was dramatic in nature. Basically you literally go through every single stage/world, crossing by familiar settings and levels to reach the final boss itself (basically going from the final stage all the way back to the very first stage). One memorable scene was during the beach/water stage, where the final boss went so fast that the water was opened apart to form a path for it before crashing down, sinking the islands for a moment till resurfacing.
The final set piece where this battle takes place was oddly serene, it was just a grass field with the evening sky, the stars shining above as the horizons beautifully fall under a nightly purple fade. But standing on the center was a pitch Black Circle, it was like looking into vantablack shape that has no definite curve nor dimension. The dark circle was covered in red sketched out eyes, as if drawn hastily or stylized, staring directly at the viewer regardless of angle or position as it swirls endlessly in an angular position. The strangest part is that its not even related to Dark Matter or even Zero, hell it wasn’t even a soul boss to begin with. This thing was more mechanical than anything, whilst most Ball shaped final bosses at least hover and sway with movement, this thing was still and moves in a straight forward and calculated manner when needed (It was like a machine who only moves when it needs to, if not it just hovers unmoving). It only pulsates like a beating heart and an uncomfortable presence behind it, as if I was looking into nothingness.
When the boss health popped in, I only recall myself saying: “Master-“, as either I didn’t recall what I said afterwards or my dream cut out on that moment. The boss theme itself was a mix between Crowned and Astral Birth, leaning more on the somber side of things.
Thus I call this being of nothingness, Master
I never saw the conclusion nor the boss battle of this fight, but funnily enough the gameplay footage in this dream was a guy going at it with a no-hit no ability run.
(The Magolor design to the right is simply my interpretation of him being possessed by Master)

"Cool ship art, unfortunately I'm interpreting it platonically" dude it's literally fine lol. Guys please. Art is meant to be interpreted. Don't call it unfortunate just because you think your interpretation differs from the artist's vision (and please refrain from using wording that implies strictly correct and wrong interpretations, it dismisses others!)

Day 3 : fashion Jackalope & dungeon rabbit
"Who are you to Chilchuck Tims?" Smiling softly: "I’m his best friend, his confidante… His silly rabbit." "His… silly rabbit?" "Yes." "Does he call you that?" "No."
I spent way too long rendering this. Coloring Chilchuck’s hair is like painting an autumn landscape and I appreciate that
I love love love brown hares and jackalopes being a Chilchuck thing. Why jackalope specifically it’s more complex bc it’s also tied to my indulgent cultural hc for him but if you want to you can dig through this post for when I talk about why rabbits are so good for him and them. Though now I also associate Rabbit Hole by Deco*27 with them… In my mind they alternate as Miku in that popular animation mv for it, equality for all… Also Zombies but that’s for another day. Also Fashion by Lady Gaga. Also-
They are both flat asses to me. In my heart of hearts

i think some people (especially on this web site) interpret succession the same way that people would interpret, like. glee. or bbc sherlock. or any media in the past decade-ish before queer characters and couples were more common in media. in the way that essentially boils down to “popular entertainment is so heteronormative, i need to hunt for clues that show the creators know gay people Exist beyond homophobic stereotypes” because that validates the queer person watching and any potential queer readings of the characters. and that period of time is still SO fresh, and queer representation in media is still not what it could or should be.
but it’s just interesting and i think kind of unfruitful when people interpret the scenes of this show as clues or proof that greg is gay irl or something.
not only is that just patently Not The Point Of The Show, it’s also like. we don’t need to see a scene where greg comes out as gay. his dad who abandoned him was gay. logan calls every one of his family members a faggot if they do something he just slightly doesn’t like. tom asked greg the first day they met if greg would kiss him as a power play or plea for affection or a sign of his latent sexuality. etc etc etc. and all of these connect inextricably to the show’s actual themes and message. what exists in the show already is so much more meaningful and complex than any cumulative “proof” could be, and i think interpreting it as such undervalues the show’s thoughtful writing.

So um...I kinda headcanon Königs family on his moms side to have one of these super cool farms in the alps that are basicly a farm + an inn/tavern for hikers + vacation home for rent aaaaaaaannnnd since I headcanon horangi to basicly be either declared dead or hunted for sport in korea due to the debts he owes thanks to his gambeling addiction I though it might be nice if König invited Horangi back to his mothers-side-of-the-family home in the alps and showed him around bc if your buddy doesn't have a place to call home the least you can do is invite him into your own
art of their antics (including face headcanons that are very obviously inspired by others) below the cut
art includes: the arrival, könig and his girlies, horangi and the barn cats, a fainting goat being sent to the shadowrealm by a sneeze and a sheep with a very long neck + the whole canvas at the very bottom

The way morse asks debryn where he stands on love and debryn deflects the question by deliberately and obtusely misinterpreting what morse is asking him (pretends morse is asking where he stands on suicide, rather than love) and then when morse clarifies, debryn responds with a Housman quote (“And one was fond of me: and all are slain”), the next line of which is “ask me no more, for fear I should reply”. Why would they do that except to say that debryn is gay and through necessity of the times is very subtle/quiet about it. Morse is literally the only person there who would understand what debryn is really saying, and would know to respect what debryn is saying and give him privacy and understanding.

i have decided that my interpretation of c!wilbur’s ominous foreshadowing after the “Bust” stream is that he was suicidal and increasingly planning on committing suicide as his character heavily alludes to (because i believe that negating the suicidal overtones of cwilbur during this portion of his story by saying that he was always only ever planning on going back to utah: # 1 just lessens the impact of everything that happens in this arc, because he wouldve already decided to live thus making all those conversations and apologies forcing him to confront the realities of his own life and death wayyy less meaningful, but most importantly # 2 makes it impossible to provide adequate closure for his character’s deepest struggles because they wouldve never been re-addressed) — BUT that when he finally decided to go through with sending friend to ghostbur thus making the evident conclusion that ghostbur did not deserve to suffer eternally (and by extension and implication, himself, too) he changes his mind and chooses Life :) aka Utah <3

I only lurk the Succession fandom but I wanted to say I wasn't expecting critique of psychiatry here. Really great to see, makes me feel less lonely. Thank you. I hope it's a more increasingly accepted position, or at least not totally ostracised, because people literally call me a Scientologist. I'm a leftist lol
yeah unfortunately that's a rhetorical move i'm also familiar with lol. in the us and uk at least, the leftist antipsychiatry of the 60s and 70s basically failed to offer the sort of sustained community support necessary for an actual alternative to institutionalisation and psychiatrisation, and the medical establishment has consequently been able to continue presenting psychiatry as being the best or only 'solution' to the 'problem' of madness. meanwhile scientology has aggressively positioned itself as though it is the heir to the leftist critiques of psychiatry and a liberator of patients, which serves both its own recruitment aims and, frankly, the medico-legal establishment, by making antipsych appear to be a fringe position exclusively espoused by those with a financial motive to do so. it's very deeply infuriating.
anyway yeah this is something i feel strongly about, even on my tumblr blog in relation to hbo succession lmao. i won't pretend to know where we go from here or how to create the kind of community infrastructure necessary for mad liberation. i will say that you're not the only person invested in these critiques, and that i have observed growing grassroots movements, particularly of patients and psych survivors, along with a notable rise in the last two or so decades of scholarship in the history and sociology of science engaging in the sort of epistemological and philosophical criticism of psychiatry that the political mainstream in the last half-century has tried to suppress. leftists absolutely need to be synced in with disability activism, including mad liberation; these are not optional add-ons to our politics but critical challenges to the capitalist valuation of human bodies and minds on the basis of economic prductivity. if we're not dismantling these structures of control and suppression, and we're not committed to the liberation of those subjected to all forms of state and medical violence, then like, what the fuck are we even doing this for, lmao.

i really like the eighth sense but the scenes with jihyun and aeri's classmate who did his presentation on hedwig and the angry inch, while dressed as hedwig, really left a bad taste in my mouth.......
idk maybe there's some context that i'm missing, either abt hedwig + the lgbt+ community, or in t8s itself. but the way they made fun of their classmate during his presentation (even though their presentation had a similar message!), and their mutually antagonistic conversation afterwards where they got the last laugh on him just felt very mean-spirited :(
idk it made me think of in skam when isak is dismissive and insulting towards more visibly lgbt+ and gnc lgbt+ people, and esklid scolds him for it, saying that those people marching in their parades are why we have pride, so you better be real careful about putting yourself above them.
like, both jihyun and aeri mocking him and the narrative framing him as somehow cringy and a mean classmate was just so 😐 weird and uncomfortable. like idk maybe i'm just missing a point they were trying to make but it just felt like they took a moment that could've been a moment of solidarity within the community and turned it into something that seemed to mock and reject the more visibly lgbt+ (and gnc lgbt+) members of the community in a very mean-spirited way :/.

my tags on my prev reblog re: dean's misinterpreted attitude toward monsters just got me thinking abt sam and the bloodfreak stuff in general and like, as we know a lot of the early seasons were framed in sam's pov so a lot of the time it' him who's feeling like a monster and projecting that onto others to confirm his own beliefs abt himself. like when he finds out abt john telling dean to kill him if he goes darkside sam suddenly is in agreement w/ john saying john's right and dean has to do it because dad said so !!! anyways that's just preface to what i want to say which is, sam isn't really a monster. what i mean is, he's not a monster in the inherent sense that he seems to think he is, and that's part of the reason why dean pushes back against the demon blood stuff because he knows sam can be saved and for dean his number one job is to save sam because the alternative is following john's order and that's something he just cannot do. so it makes sense that dean would do whatever it takes even if that's being a little mean or forceful (calling him a monster, echoing john by telling him not to walk out that door to give sam pause, forcing him to detox) because he does not want to kill his brother.
but anyways, sam is not a monster in the way he (and a lot of fans) thinks he's a monster. he was Not born a monster, it's not something that is intrinsically and inherently part of him. and i'd argue there's really nothing special or "chosen one"-esque about him (aside from the lucifer bloodline making him a better candidate for vessel purposes), he was just a regular baby who was dosed with demon blood, which in the text is treated as a drug / addiction. there was nothing special about any of the babies azazel dosed, they were just the children of people he'd made deals with. i think pretty much any baby (possibly even adult) who's fed demon blood from a powerful enough demon (like a Prince of Hell) would develop psychic powers. so it's not something completely out of his control that's turning him into a monster like a virus or a vampire / werewolf bite where he can't stop the progression. it's not happening to him he's making active choices to strengthen those powers and the more he feeds the more he wants it. everything w/ ruby is framed as him knowing he's doing something "wrong", the sneaking around, the lying. and i think dean's response is along the lines of "we need to get you help. we need to stop this because it's something that can be stopped. and if we stop it then i won't have to see you lose yourself or go too far. because if you go too far and start hurting people then i might have to kill you and i can't do that so please just let us save you." and i think that's fair. yes he and bobby maybe go about things the wrong way but i think it's born out of desperation. and also it's not a rejection of "this is who you are and we hate you for being a monster" it's "you're making choices that are leading you down a dangerous path and we're scared we may lose you so we're trying to stop you from going too far down that road."
like the end goal of all the bloodfreak stuff (ruby's end goal) was to free lucifer and freeing lucifer would mean sam becoming his vessel. they obviously don't know all that at the time, but in hindsight it's like, yea we should've curbed that bloodfreak stuff sooner. also heaven was telling dean to stop sam too and that he was going down a dangerous path and that if dean doesn't stop him they will (likely meaning death) so again, of course dean's gonna try to do whatever he can to stop sam even if it's by not great methods. (also heaven was playing him too bc they also wanted lucifer to be freed so that Destiny could come to pass)
#i've been thinking a lot abt the bloodfreak stuff lately#esp whenever i see takes that sam is like inherently different or monstrous#like he's really not ??? he was just a baby who was fed demon blood like many other babies#i read the bloodfreak stuff thru an addition lens moreso than a 'there's something inherently wrong w/ me' lens#which is also why the queercoded sam stuff often just. does not stick for me. like i Can see where ppl are coming from#but when you don't view sam's monstrous-ness as inherent then it's like. well it doesn't make for good parallels to queerness#whereas you take the shifter / dean parallels and it's like !!!! the shifter relating to dean and saying they're alike in many ways#that they were both born different and hated before they had to make themselves different and both just want someone to love them#and the shifter as dean earlier telling sam he's a freak he knows he's a freak and that everyone will always leave him#it's just different the way dean's ''freakness'' is framed as something inherent to him#while sam's is literally literally !! something that was Introduced to him after the fact not something he was born with#i'm sorry and this isn't sam crit it's more. interpretation crit ?#but also i think we can all have different and conflicting interpretations too bc sometimes i'm like yea. queer sam!#(tho often that has nothing to do w/ the monster-coding)#but idk i've just been thinking abt the bloodfreak stuff lately and how other characters reacted to it and how it's framed from sam's pov#vs deans and other characters. like sam seems to think there is something inherently wrong w/ him and so a lot of viewers believe it#but from outside perspectives dean and bobby and even heaven view it as an addiction and as choices sam's making that he can stop#vic.txt#mymeta#long post#sam studies

Idk it seems ciscentered, trans excluding to treat “male mice” like a coherent thing — rather than some construct we assign to them like how we assign it with amab people — and then further to conflate 2 male mice together as being yaoi and gay… it reinforces being “male” (amab) as a biological thing not something to do with gender and identity.
Tumblr media
Hmmm... I can't seem to see things from your perspective. Is the only issue that it says "mouse yaoi real"?
I reblogged because it's incredibly cool that it happened! It helps dissolve our rigid ideas of sex, in my opinion. One of the biggest trans-exclusionary arguments in my current culture is "women are women because they can bear children," which ties into the ever-present homophobic argument of "homosexuality is wrong because it cannot produce offspring."
The ramifications for this sort of thing are still "up in the air," so to speak, since experiments with mice cannot always be replicated in humans. But the ability to create a viable offspring from a same-sex pair of mammalian model organisms is still a big break-through, especially because of the implications of creating an egg with two X chromosomes from a male skin cell with only one X chromosome! As the CNN article itself explains,
"The proof-of-concept research, the culmination of years of pain-staking lab work, could expand the possibilities for future fertility treatments, including for same-sex couples, and perhaps help prevent the extinction of endangered animals. "
The ability to create viable offspring from "male" cells is a direct wound to the idea that "male" is a rigid characteristic. If I allow myself to daydream, I can ponder other possibilities: could you turn "male" skin cells into other cells? Could a trans woman one day have her own cells used to grow a uterus? Growing entire organs is a wholly different feat, compared to creating a single gamete, with difficulties such as incorporating it into a pre-existing organism (eg, even if you could grow a uterus, could you get it connected to the circulatory system?). It's a far-off daydream, thanks to the current culture's fear of research that questions it's rigid ideas of sex and gender. But it's a daydream that comes closer to being reality when science achieves breakthroughs like this!
I am being overly hopeful. Science is very slow to make progress in regards to sex. Progress is discouraged and poorly funded, and can even be destroyed, such as with the Hirshfield Institution. But seeing science make progress like this, despite the hostile culture, gives me hope in itself.
It's unfortunate that our current vocabulary is inadequate and rife with bias that assumes everything is cisgender, heterosexual, and perisex. In our efforts to understand the unbiased nature of sex, it's important to examine our views for these issues. Does "mouse yaoi real" contribute to cis-centric, trans-exclusionary biases? I dunno. No. Yeah. Sure. It doesn't matter. Or maybe it does.
Anyways, the science is really really really really cool. I have other thoughts on the matter, but my vocabulary feels inadequate to verbalize them, and instead I am just taking a moment here to talk about the science a little, explain how it can be utilized as a step towards trans healthcare, and emphasize the importance of celebrating these things.
