went to my first con in 4 years on Friday to meet Kaiji Tang and got a Dazai autograph + video recording of him reading to me. He was the sweetest person (as I knew he would be) and interacting with him was lovely, but also at the same time oh boy it sure was an extremely stressful, ugly wake-up call of what it feels like to live in a world now where everyone around you has blissfully moved on from covid and can enjoy things normally and happily, while you'll forever be trapped in a hellscape of perpetual fear 🫠🫠🫠

#like. to be clear this was the first time i've been literally anywhere but doctor's appointments in 4 years #not just because of the pandemic but because of mental and physical exhaustion #so it was a Big Mistake to go from 0 to 100 and not ease myself into it at all #but at the same time........ it was a fucking hellscape of people. i don't think any kind of buildup could have prepared me for it at all.#it was so much less crowded in 2020 (ironically the very last place i ever went; literally on the BRINK of covid)#and now idk what it's become. a monster con. it was unbelievable.#but i was only there for less than an hour but i was so so so terrified that i very nearly left before even seeing him #i couldn't even fully enjoy meeting him as kind as he was because i was so anxious and distracted #and when i got back to the car i just fucking cried.........#the last five days i've just been sitting in fear waiting to feel Any sort of symptoms #i wore two masks and again was barely there for long but Still #and everyone around me was so chill as if everything was normal and No One was wearing a mask :))))) it's not fucking fair man :)))))#insert the 'they don't know' meme; they don't know how much covid can destroy your body even if you get a 'mild' case #i would never want to be that ignorant even if i wasn't disabled and didn't have reason to worry (but everyone has reason to worry!!!)#but also. ignorance is bliss and it just really fucking sucks man.#it really fucking sucks. why do they get to be happy and enjoying life and not /me?/#why can't i do just ONE thing for myself without having it tainted by anxiety and fear that i'm going to die horribly???#while they get to do fucking EVERYTHING???#if they all just wore masks we could all enjoy ourselves much more comfortably than some of us are now #but no that's too much to ask from people 🙃🙃🙃#shit sucks man. the world sucks. something that should be a happy memory for me was simultaneously the most awful experience #and i don't know how to feel about it now that it's over #he knew that i was afraid and at the end he told me that he hoped to see me again at another event someday #and that made me cry because it felt like dazai telling me to live. and i want to. but i don't know how to when the world is like this now.#i desperately want to be able to see him again someday but right now after how terrifying that was i never want to go to a con ever again..#i wanted to ask him things about the manga and about dazai but i was being rushed and stressed so i couldn't ugh #(and doing that is hard enough anyway cause disability and i have to talk with my phone bahhhh)#at least i was able to give him my note *sigh*

I’m trying so hard not to be super salty right now but I’m finding it very difficult.

#got a text from a friend asking what I thought a good theme was for a mutual friend’s birthday party #and my first thought was oh so time CAN be found to make plans for birthdays #well isn’t that so great did I lose the invite to my own gathering a couple weeks ago?#because I spent my birthday alone on my couch and cried because I felt forgotten #and I got one invite to go to dinner the next day #and I feel so silly for still being mad about that but it really hurt #we always get as many of us as we can together to do celebrations for stuff and this year…not even a whisper #and weeks later here we are and I’m still a little more hurt about it than I thought #and I volunteered to make food for this party because the birthday girl is one of the two people who gave me a gift at all #(it was a book bouquet and it was really sweet)#so I’ll get past it eventually I guess idk I just need to rant about it somewhere #just tired of feeling lonely and invisible is all 🙃🙃

the older i get the more i become like my mother in regards to health issues and i just gotta say.... i wish this bitch prepared me for ALL of this, not just prepped (read: panicked) me for the potential for diabetes 🙃🫠

#personal #she blamed all her health issues on having diabetes bc she developed it in her early/mid 20s after having my sister #esp cause everyone else in my family who got sick like this was also afab and Also developed diabetes after pregnancy #but it turns out that & the rest are separate things 🙃#bc *i* have the health issues and no diabetes bc no pregnancy #downside is None of my drs take my family medical history seriously once i mention the history of diabetes too #bc they Also blame it all on the diabetes (which is where my mom got the idea)#but the GI/bone/joint/sleep problems are DEFINITELY not from the diabetes 🙃#just happened to be happening at the same time bc all the women in my family except one aunt started having kids at 15y/o #so pregnancy and “womanhood” masked the actual issues #and i am never having kids but i am still having All these issues *except* diabetes #i think i may be one of the next ppl who dies from illness (likely cancer) in my family #<< i have been right every time i have fears about someone in my family like this and have never had this fear abt myself til now #anyway yeah. i wish she prepared me more for the “living with the illnesses” rather than the “oh my gd dont get diabetes heres a diet”

Ok, I cleaned my room a little (still a bit messy and need to dust but it’s better than before), I ordered and received official transcripts I needed from 2 community colleges, and I officially submitted my application for a part time job at HomeGoods 👍🏼

#I needed a bit of help/clarification from my parents for this job application before I submitted it #then they went off on a rant about how hopefully I get into a nursing program somewhere soon and can be an RN by the time I’m 30 🙃#like yea I wish that would happen for me too but this kinda shit/talk stressed me out even more #it just puts a lot of pressure/stress on me than I already have and makes me feel like shit more than usual #but this is a start/ I’m doing something with my life even if it’s small #I busted my ass doing so much shit since the summer to prepare myself for applying to nursing programs again and to something with my life #I took more classes to complete prerequisites/I took the HESI & studied for it in 2 weeks/I got my drivers license #even though I’m not where I want to be right now/I’m slowly getting there and getting back on my feet and doing something with my life #jazz uses curse! 💜

#the eddie happened a couple days ago&i keep seeing footage of tourists almost getting dragged out into the ocean.#&-- this cannot be stressed enough-- i find this hilarious bc no one died&also bc i am inherently a bad person lmao.#but also bc like. this is an excellent example of WHY locals cannot fucking stand tourists lmao.#the eddie is a surf competition that is only held when the surf can match the height necessary for the competition.#like this is one of the most dangerous&prestigious surf competitions in the world. the lifeguards they have watching the beach #are seasoned pros who regularly drag ppl out of north shore riptides. which is a good thing bc despite all this #&despite all the lifeguard warnings&despite not one singular local being on the shore #tourists got swept up&there was a mad scramble that STOPPED THE COMPETITION bc they needed to drag whole families out the water.#several lifeguards almost died trying to save someones dog.#this competition is only held when waimea's waves cap 30ft-- they have cancelled the competition before bc #waves were smaller than anticipated. its specifically named to honour Eddie Aikau a surfer who died setting out to sea #to try to save the Hokulea the first time it went out sailing w/ no navigation equipment&got stuck in a calm belt.#all these facts together give me a headache when i think of how much more regulated this stupid competition is going to be #when there have NEVER been issues like this before mostly bc the eddie isnt usually announced so so many tourists show up.#ive never even gotten to GO ppl line up down the north shore for literally a day in advance to be able to see it happen.#chxjjsbxkxbjsxnajxnsj 🙃🙃🙃
